I love Janto: yep, even if its a kiss on the nose. They'll have plenty of time.
Jack took Ianto's hand and led him away from the party going on in the hub. They heard Gwen laugh at something as they left but didn't catch what it was. Nor was their absence noticed. The others might not notice them missing for a while and the thought brought a smirk to Ianto's lips.
Jack led Ianto out of the hub and to the Millennium Center. They didn't stop until they reached the roof.
"I should have known that you would take me to the roof," Ianto said. He still holding Jack's hand and he swung it a bit.
Jack gave him a dazzling smile. "We can see the fireworks from here and some time alone sounded nice." Ianto rested his head on Jack's shoulder.
"We could have seen the fireworks from somewhere down there you know. Where its less chilly and less chance of us falling to our deaths."
Jack kissed his forehead and let go of Ianto's hand so he could shrug his coat off. He offered his coat up to Ianto. "You won't be cold anymore."
"I'm not cold besides you will be." He snuggled closer to Jack as well as he could while standing on a roof. "You don't handle the chilly Welsh weather as well as I do." Jack muttered something about not having been born here before putting his coat back on. He ran his hand over Ianto's shoulder instead, hoping the friction would keep Ianto warm.
A comfortable silence fell over them as they watched the fireworks together. Ianto eventually broke it to ask "What was New Year's Eve like back home for you? Did you celebrate it?"
"I'll tell you later," Jack whispered into his ear. A shiver that had nothing to do with the cold ran down Ianto's spine. Jack spared a look at his watch. "Its nearly midnight. Want to kiss on New Year's?"
Ianto took advantage of their closeness and stole a kiss from Jack's lips. He inhaled Jack's scent deeply and savored the last of champagne. "Mmm, okay."
The later kiss was thorough, lingering and certainly lasted past midnight. Hand and in hand they went back down to the hub.
