CHAPTER 19: Reconciliation

It was just me and Tigress in my room after telling the story of my diagnosis. Although she didn't say anything, I knew it was her because of her shadow on the floor.

"What do you want Tigress?" I asked, thinking she was still wanting to give me shit.

"H-how did you know it was me?"

"Your shadow is the only one that matches mine." I turned over to face her.

"So, what is it?"

"I...wanted to talk to you."

"I see, you wanted to wait for the others to leave before-"

"I wanted to speak to you alone. No distractions, one on one."

'Fair enough I guess.'

"Oh...ok. What did you want to talk about?" I asked curiously.

This was something I hadn't expected after how she's been treating me since I got picked.

"I want to apologise for what happened. Not just for the incident in the dining hall, but for the past 24 hours.

I have been acting like a bully towards you since Oogway picked you. As much as I knew it wasn't your fault, I for some reason just felt so angered and dare I say it pissed off that I thought taking out my frustrations on you would be a way to deal with it.

It clouded my judgement and thinking to the point that it began affecting my relationship with the others too. However, after nearly getting a bullet to the head and hearing your backstory, it finally made me realize that I was being a bully.

I am truly sorry for treating you like garbage for the past 24 hours. I'm not looking for forgiveness, I just wanted you to know I am sorry."

I was rather shocked. She admitted what I said last night was true. Her anger was the one talking. But I then felt relieved that she admitted her wrong doings and that she apologized.

"Truth be told, I was indeed rather hurt by your action towards me. But, I am more than willing to forgive you Tigress, on one condition though."

"Wait, you still want to forgive me? After all I did?"

"Like I said yesterday morning, it takes quite a bit to rile me up. Although what happened earlier kinda contradicts that, but I digress."

"So...what is that condition?"

"Simple, we drop whatever bullshit we have against each other and start off from scratch."

I then thought of something she told me the day before.

"Also, I know that you aren't one to become friends with someone within your first encounter with them.

That doesn't mean I'm the same way." I said offering a handshake.

"You want to be my friend? Even with what happened?"

"To be quite honest with you, after meeting Viper, I've always wanted to meet the rest of the five prior to a couple days ago and befriend you guys. Especially you."

She was taken aback by what I said. However she then simply smirked.

"As much as I wouldn't mind shaking your hand, I think I would prefer a more direct approach into accepting your friendship."

"Umm, and what would that be?" I asked her.

"This." She then pulls me into a hug.

My eyes couldn't have widened any more than how they did now. Master Tigress, the one out of the group who had beef with me, was hugging me.

After a few seconds of shock, I then simply hugged her back. We stayed like that for about 10 seconds before I asked.

"W-What's this for?" I asked.

"Another way of me saying sorry and thank you, for making me realize that I was wrong about you. You more than deserve to be here." She said breaking the hug.

I smiled.

"Like I said, apology accepted Tigress."

We ended up talking for a good half hour getting to know each other and telling some funny stories of what happened in our lives.

Hell, I even found out she would sometimes secretly watch some of my band's shows. Even showed her my guitar collection.

All I can say is Viper was right, all I needed to do was give her some time and well, it paid off.

"I must say Captain, you more than proved me wrong about you."

"Good to know that Tigress. Welp, I don't know about you, but I'm gonna call it a night for me."

"Me too, especially after today. It will be good to get some much needed rest." She said as she headed for the door.

"I guess it's goodnight."

"See you in the morning Captain."

"You too."

I then closed my doors, got undressed and hopped into bed. Gotta say, things are starting to look up for me here.

And to top it all off, me and Tigress are on good terms. So that's a nice little bonus too.

I then closed my eyes and dosed off.

Tigress' POV

I was wrong about the Captain. He really is a nice person.

However, as much as he is more than capable of sparring with us, I don't think it's a good thing for him to face Tai Lung.

I decided to get a bit of information from Zeng, to see how long for him to fly to and from the prison. That way, I could plan when I can go after Tai Lung and ambush him before he can show up.

"Zeng, mind if I have a word with you for a minute?"

"Yes Master Tigress, how can I help you?"

"How long did it take you to fly to prison?"

"About 3 days. Why?"

"Just curious, carry on."

"Very well Master Tigress."

With this information, I went to my room and prepared for when and where I was to go and ambush the leopard who changed my father for the worse.
