I love Janto: actually it was Gwen's idea. I don't think Owen really knew what to get him, luckily ties are a safe bet. Thanks, I hope to soon. It's gotten better but it's lingering.

I've lived in Australia throughout my teen years to now and only now know that fireworks are called skyworks.

I might have to put this collection on hiatus. My brain isn't working.

Not human!Jack AU

Ianto watched Jack add blankets to a nest of blankets and quilts. The nest was lumpy thing, it always had been. Before they had mated it had been a pile of soft furs and shiny rocks. It was cozier now, a nice spot to cuddle by the fireplace.

"Why the nest?" Ianto asked. "You said you would tell me." The first time Jack had started building the nest had been a year ago and he had managed to weasel out of explaining himself after saying he was building a nest.

Jack stopped, then turned his head to look at Ianto who was standing above him. Ianto managed not to get distracted by Jack's owl eyes or the way Jack's tail was moving across the floor.

"Lot's of reasons really. Attracting a mate, though since you're human it's probably not that effective."

"Like birds do." Or maybe bats, Jack's leathery wings didn't have feathers.

"A good place to store pretty things. This nest really adds to the cabin's atmosphere."

Ianto wasn't too sure about that. If anything it made the cabin look messy but he didn't want to hurt Jack's feelings. "Like birds."

"My species are birds, is that what you're saying?"

"The similarities are there."

Jack chuckled. "It's a comfy place for us to unwind. Right by the fire." He patted the nest. "Come on. I could always finish later."

Ianto sat down on the nest and Jack curled around him. He nuzzled Jack's neck. "You're not wrong about that."
