Hello everyone! It has been a while huh? I recently had a lot of stuff happening around me and so I didn't really find the time to write, however I still felt that I should post at least something and so I decided to split the fourth chapter into two separate chapters. That way I can give you guys something to read while I still can take more time to write a good story. So basically, this is the part of the fourth chapter that I already finished and the fifth chapter will follow some time in the (hopefully near) future.
Story wise, let me say that this is the chapter where I start shifting away from the many story line a lot and will probably begin writing my own story. This chapter can be seen as kind of a build up to what is to come next. Also, sadly no RiveraXBell smut this chapter sorry :P
"Just… what happened?", Bell asked himself as he was standing outside of his new home with a bag of clothes and his equipment right beside him.
Thinking back to this morning, right when he had had his status updated by Hestia, his goddess and started yelling at him all of a sudden. She had accused him of cheating and of sleeping around…
Now while he certainly couldn't quite deny the last part (although it was only one person he slept with), he couldn't quite get what she had meant with cheating… After all he didn't have anyone to cheat on to begin with…
To Bell, who was not able to see love between gods and humans as possible, it seemed like a ridiculous idea for him to be cheating. If anything it would be cheating on Riveria, but Hestia didn't even known of their relationship so Bell certainly couldn't wrap his head around what she had meant…
Anyway, Hestia had been so upset with him that she had told him to pack his stuff up and leave as she wasn't sure whether she wanted him as part of the familia anymore. Of course Bell had been heartbroken hearing that, after all this was his home, his family! However it didn't seem like his goddess would be swayed that easily and the other members of his familia too had told him that it would be wise to leave for now and that they would try their best to talk some sense into Hestia, although Lilli certainly didn't seem to happy either for some reason…
"What a mess…", Bell mumbled, taking his bag and trotting away. Because of a lack of a better place to go to, he decided to spend the next few nights in the abandoned building he had had his first time in together with Riveria just yesterday…
*Time skip back to Riveria coming home last night*
Riveria was still walking on clouds as she was closing in on Twilight Manor. She could still feel Bell's semen inside of her, even further increasing her happiness as it constantly reminded her of the bond they shared and just what had happened between them. Really, if not for outward appearance, she might even have hummed a happy tune right now…
Speaking of outward appearance, she had of course changed into her normal clothes back in the old building rather than back into her sexy piece of lingerie and, not wanting to repeat the situation in which basically every animal person of the familia would be able to smell Bell all over her, she had even put on some perfume, something that she only did very reluctantly as she hated such an artificial smell all around her. Then again if it allowed her to be with Bell and experience such happiness then she certainly didn't mind…
When she arrived back inside her home, after successfully dogging all the guards, she was greeted by her vermillion haired goddess Loki awaiting her on the large staircase leading to the upper rooms.
"Yo, Mama Riveria! Back already?", Loki asked in her usual teasing tone.
"I told you a thousand times already, I don't understand why you would call me 'Mama'…", Riveria told her, clearly annoyed yet not really angry. After all she was used to her goddess' teasing by now…
Riveria walked up the stairs without hesitation, acting as if it was the most normal thing in the world for her to come home now in the middle of the night, hoping that Loki wouldn't question her…
"Where have you been though? I certainly didn't hear anything from Finn or Gareth that you would be out so late", Loki asked her when she was right beside her, her tone more serious this time, clearly showing that she cared for her children and was worried about Riveria, despite how mature Riveria might have been already…
"Of course she couldn't just let it slide…", Rivera sighed internally.
"It's just some personal business, nothing to worry about, hence why I didn't tell Finn, Gareth or you directly. There is no need to make you guys worry pointlessly.", Riveria told her, stopping beside her as she could already tell that this conversation wouldn't be over with such a simple exchange…
Loki gave her a smile again, showing that she at least understood it wasn't something to worry about. Nonetheless she felt like teasing Riveria a little more. "Hm? Is that perfume I smell? Were you out on a date? Did you finally find a lover?!", she told her in (badly acted) shock.
"J-Just what a silly idea! Want me to punch you?!", Riveria told her, clearly defensive about the matter. Then again it was quite normal for her to react like that whenever Loki would tease her about not having a boyfriend or husband yet.
"Oh? Are you sure?", Loki further questioned the green haired elf. At least she tried to before she was swiftly met with a punch onto her head, sending her tumbling down the stairs, Riveria resuming the walk to her room…
*The following day*
Riveria's happiness was easy to see for the rest of the familia, though of course they didn't know what had caused such happiness in her. Naturally some people asked, but she simply gave dismissive answers like "Why would I need any reason to be happy?" or "Oh it's just such a wonderful day you know? How can you not be happy today?"
Riveria's schedule was filled to the brim with jobs to finish and places to visit today, so she was mostly out from home that day. Only in the evening did she return to her room to find…
"A gift..?", Riveria mumbled after she had entered her room. There, on top of her bed, she found a small package with a letter attached. Her hearth skipped a moment, suspecting that it might have been Bell who had brought this here, however, once she began reading the attached letter, she soon found out that this wasn't from Bell…
The letter read as follows:
Dear Riveria,
You may be able to hide things from the others, but you can't lie to a goddess, you should know that by now.
Make no mistake though, I am the last person that will stand in your way, in fact I am very happy that you finally found someone you like. It would be a lot better if he was part of this familia though…
In case that lover of yours ever needs some help, bring him here, I would be happy to have him join the familia!
Your incredible and all-knowing goddess Loki!
Riveria let out a sigh. She knew very well that she couldn't lie to a goddess, however she had still told herself that Loki had bought her lies yesterday.
"Well, she is surprisingly mature about this…" Riveria told herself, glad that Loki didn't do something stupid like running through the mansion and announce to anyone that 'Riveria has got a lover now'.
Just when she thought that, Riveria found another note on the letter saying: P.S: Have fun with the book I bought you and put it to good use!
Reading that, Riveria unwrapped the package that had had the letter attached to it earlier. In it she found a book, though unlike the usual books, this one didn't have a cover or even a name anywhere on it, almost as if it was supposed to be secretive or taboo in some way. Riveria has a bad feeling about this…
She then open the books first page where she finally found the title of the book.

*Thud*
With her full strength, Riveria threw the book against the nearby wall, face red due to humiliation and shame.
"Loki, I swear I am gonna get you back for this!", Riveria cursed.
*The next day*
Riveria sat alone in the living room early in the morning, reading a book (no, not that book!) when Loki entered, her face turning into a wide grin when she saw Riveria, already feeling like teasing the poor elf again.
"Oh, already reading this early in the morning Mama Riveria? That isn't the book I gifted you though, is it? Or did you get so absorbed in it that you read it all last night?", Loki said.
Riveria stayed silent for a moment before grabbing her wand that was placed right beside her, replying with: "Any last words before I sent you back to heaven?"
"I AM SORRRRRRY!", seeing Riveria's ice cold glare Loki immediately fell to her knees and bowed in apology, understanding that she might have taken things too far.
Thrusting her wand out towards Loki Riveria asked: "What do you have to say in your defence?"
"I- I didn't mean to offend you! I- I just thought you would need that eventually!", Loki tried to explain, sweating bullets when Riveria's eyes tightened even further after hearing her answer. Quickly Loki tried to correct herself by adding: "I- I only meant the best for you! I- I just want to make sure your lover doesn't leave you because you can't satisfy him!"
At that Riveria's eyes widened in surprise, though they soon changed back into their glaring state. "As if such a thing had any importance!"
"N-No! No, really! Believe me! Men will leave you if you don't perform well in bed! Trust me!", Loki told her.
"He would never-!", Riveria began, however before she could finish she was interrupted by Tiona storming into the room. Luckily for Riveria the Amazonian airhead hadn't heard anything from the conversation going on.
Anyway she was quick to tell them: "Hey you two, did you hear?! Argonaut has apparently been chased through the pleasure quarter last night! Some people say he has been chased because he didn't pay after sleeping with some girl!"
Riveria stayed silent after that, simply turning around, grabbing her book and leaving the room…
Tiona gave her a puzzled look while Loki already had a vague idea of what she was thinking right now and that despite not even knowing that Bell was her lover for certain at this point…
*Back to Bell's perspective*
While Bell had found a place to stay in for the time being, he certainly still needed food and money and so he didn't have any choice but explore the dungeon every day after all. Naturally he teamed up with Welf and Mikoto as they still liked him and wanted to help him. He also tried to invite Lili but… she was quite dismissive for some reason.
Anyway, when they were deep in the dungeon, Mikoto had told him about an old friend of hers who might be here in the city now.
The following night Mikoto, Welf and Bell had set out to search for that friend and well… one thing had led to another and things finally resulted in the news that had reached Riveria a few hours ago.
Of course Bell hadn't slept with anyone that night, however he didn't meet Riveria so he didn't have any way to explain that. Naturally that kind of news wouldn't please his goddess or Lili either, though Bell himself wouldn't even know that…
Anyway, things naturally progressed and escalated further eventually leading up to a grand battle between Ishtar familia and Freya familia…
*The day after the battle*
When Riveria heard those news and especially when she heard that Bell had been involved, she finally began to piece those facts together.
She was smart enough to understand Bell wouldn't get involved in such a battle without good reason, so at least she felt relatively certain now that, unlike what she had lamented about the past few days, he hadn't cheated on her. Despite that, she still felt rather… weird. She just couldn't shake off this feeling. It bugged her, but even now she felt that Bell might cheat on her someday unless she became more of a woman for him…
Either way, she once again had to take care of a few tasks. She was just going about her way when she saw a dejected looking Bell sitting on the side of the main road.
Of course she approached him, calling out to him: "Bell? Are you alright? You look like something terrible happened…", her concern for her loved one clear as day.
Bell looked up, his eyes swollen and red almost as if he had cried a lot recently.
"Riveria?", he asked, recognizing her immediately.
"I… It's…", Bell tried to explain, but he just couldn't get the words out.
Seeing him in this state, Riveria felt that she had no choice. She grabbed his arm and dragged him off into a nearby desolated alley… before tightly hugging him!
Just like he had done with her before the war game, when she had felt such anxiety and pain, seeing him leave. She did her best to comfort him, speaking no words, only offering him a shoulder to lean on.
Bell tightly hugged her back, once again starting to cry, sobbing into her shoulder.
Like that they stayed for a while until Bell started calming down.
Finally Riveria separated from him and once again asked: "What happened Bell? What is it that got you so down?"
"It's… my goddess… no, I mean… my former goddess…" Bell explained, the word 'former' clearly causing him a lot of pain.
"What? You don't mean to say…?", Riveria began, before Bell nodded, confirming her thoughts.
"Yes… Hestia… she kicked me out for some reason! S-She… she said I had cheated on her or something and that… she just couldn't bear it any longer. She handed me my equipment and told me to go find a new familia, I wasn't a part of hers anymore…", Bell explained, his sad voice clearly showing just how much this pained him. While he might not have any romantic feelings for Hestia (or Lili for that matter, as she too had supported Hestia's decision), he clearly saw them as close friends, no even more than that, as family! He never knew his parents and his grandfather died too and now he had lost his family once again…
Riveria too was shocked hearing this. She had taken Bell and his goddess as inseparable so she too was completely taken aback by this news.
She stayed silent for a moment. She just… didn't know what to say. What should she say? Should she comfort him? Should she tell him to go and look for a better familia? Should she try to cheer him up?
"And… what are you going to do now? Do you have a place to stay?", Riveria finally asked.
Bell nodded, saying: "Yes, I am staying in the abandoned building where we… you know what I mean." Both of them blushed slightly as Bell mentioned that night.
"A-Anyway… as for what I will do for now… Well I guess I have no choice but to go and look for a new familia. I can't continue being an adventurer if I don't have a falna, but my goddess removed hers…", Bell explained.
Riveria then suggested: "In that case, why don't you come back with me?"
"Huh?", Bell asked, clearly dumbfounded and unable to understand what Riveria was saying.
"Don't you want to join my familia? Well I guess you had a little bit of a rough start with all these girls chasing you through the forest and Bete wasn't exactly nice to you either but… I promise they aren't that bad once you get to know them!", Riveria tried to defend her familia.
"W-What? Me joining Loki familia?!" Bell cried out.
"Aw, come on. I promise it won't be so bad!", Riveria told him, slightly hurt that he would reject her idea so stubbornly…
"N-No, that's not what I am trying to say here! You guys are one of the strongest familias in the city! A newbie like me could never join you! Besides, I was already rejected once when I got into this city and was looking for a familia for the first time." Bell finally said, clearing up this misunderstanding.
Riveria could only laugh at that, glad that he didn't actually want to reject the idea, but simply felt unworthy. "Don't worry about that. I mean, aren't you the record holder that surpassed even Aiz Wallenstein? And the one who defeated a Minotaur at Level one all alone? The one who defeated the Irregular Floor Boss on the 18th floor? The one who defeated a well-known adventurer in a war game, despite being a level lower than him? Just listing off your feats I doubt that anyone would disagree with you being worthy to join. Besides, even if there was someone who would disagree…", Riveria gave him a slight wink there, "having one of the leaders of the familia on your side you hardly need to worry about them."
"Well… I guess you might be right… b-but I still need new armor and a new weapon! I will have to work for that before I can join you!" Bell once again argued.
"Don't worry about that, we've got a lot of spare weapons and armor for the lower members of our familia. It might not be ideal since you deserve better, but I am sure with your skill you can work your way up from that easily", Riveria replied, finally relieving Bell from that last worry too…
"Well… if you guys really want me to join, then I certainly won't object either…", Bell sheepishly said.
Both of them left for Twilight Manor after that…
There was a little bit of a commotion when the guards saw Riveria coming back with Bell in tow, though Riveria was quick to calm them down.
When they asked why he was here, Riveria simply told them: "I have something to discuss with him and Loki. Don't worry about it, you will probably know what it was about soon enough"
After that, the two of them went to meet Loki who was lazing about in the living room. Riveria practically dragged her away from her newly opened bottle of booze, telling her to quit drinking for a moment and be a respectable goddess for once since they had a guest and all. Bell could only awkwardly watch, clearly not sure what to do or say in such a situation…
Eventually Loki managed to drag Loki into her room and lock the door behind herself and Bell.
"What is it now Mama Riveria? What could be so important that I can't even enjoy my alcohol first?", Loki whined. Seeing her like that, Riveria was glad that she had caught her while still sober, otherwise she would probably have sunk into the ground in shame from having such a drunkard as a goddess…
Riveria gestured towards Bell with her head, her hands crossed in front of her, saying: "I have brought you a new member."
Loki could only react to that news with: "Huh?"
"Why would he wanna join us? Or no, other than that, I don't wanna get involved with that shrimp of a goddess, so no definitely not!", Loki immediately rejected him! Before Riveria smacked her on the head…
"Listen to his circumstances first you drunkard!", she told her with annoyance in her voice, before she pulled out a chair and sat down, now giving Bell the opportunity to speak...
After Bell had told her his story and Riveria said that she had invited him after she found out about it and that he was definitely worthy of it, given his achievements so far, Loki just shrugged her shoulders saying: "True, if it's like that I guess I can't argue. If you are really sure about joining, why don't you get your shirt off so I can give you my falna?
"Oh, I hope you don't mind Riveria staying. You probably wouldn't know since that shrimp probably never did that, but it's common for someone else to be part of such a process. You know, making sure no accidents occur and stuff.", Loki said.
Naturally Bell never heard of this, so he looked to Riveria to see what she had to say to this.
Of course such a thing wasn't common and more likely to be some weird prank of Loki, however Riveria didn't really mind being here either, so she simply nodded, confirming Loki's claim. "Yes, it's quite common.", Riveria told him.
After getting confirmation from her, Bell got rid of his shirt and turned his back towards Loki so she could get to work. Riveria on the other hand wanted to turn away to give Bell some privacy however…
"Oh Riveria, would you mind disrobing too? I haven't updated your status for a while either and since we need someone to be here to do that, we might as well get it done now", Loki told her with a smirk which Bell couldn't see.
Riveria blushed telling her: "H-Have you no consideration for a woman's feelings you pervert?!"
"Oh now don't be like that, you can just sit on the opposite side and he won't see anything. I can even do both of your statuses at the same time!", Loki told her.
"Well… I guess that's ok then…But I swear if you do anything weird-!", Riveria said, acting as reluctant as possible, getting on the opposite side of Loki, where Bell couldn't see her before disrobing and offering Loki her back as well. Of course all of that was just an act, after all Bell had seen Riveria nude more than just once by now…
Thanks to her divine powers, Loki could tell right away that Riveria was hiding something. She knew that Riveria had other, hidden reasons for offering Bell to join the familia and it the fact that Riveria accepted such a ridiculous idea such as getting naked in the same room as a man only further increased Loki's suspicion. At this point, she was quite sure she could guess who Riveria's secret lover was…
And after updating Riveria's status and giving Bell his new one, she could be a hundred percent certain!
"Hahaha!", Loki could only laugh, almost rolling all over the floor in joy!
Of course both Riveria and Bell were taken aback by that sudden change in her behaviour.
"What is it this time you useless goddess?", Riveria asked in her usual annoyed tone.
However this time, Loki's happiness wasn't in the slightest bit dulled by Riveria's remark. Instead she took two sheets of paper, wrote both Riveria and Bell's status down on one of them and handed them to both, with the words: "And here I thought you guys were the shy and cute kind of couple"
Both Bell and Riveria were taken aback by suddenly be called a couple, giving Loki enough time to leave the room, snickering all the while…
Only then did Riveria and Bell look on their respective sheet, as well as on the other person's sheet…

So there you have it! What do you think of this chapter? I will admit I don't think it's the best one I wrote this far, though that might be as I was unsure of just how much of the actual story I should include or not. Personally I didn't want to copy much of the original story and rather focus on Bell and Riveria instead so I skipped a lot of it, however maybe that wasn't the best choice...
Anyway, as for their statuses, I am aware there is a lot of things missing there, however I only included what was necessary as their stats and explanations for their other skills aren't really needed.
Other than that, I once again wish to ask all of you to give me your opinion on this chapter and tell me your idea of what is going to happen next! Especially with an open end like this after greatly shifting away from the main story I am curious to see what you guys can come up with!
Lastly, a word to all the Hestia and Lili shippers out there. I know that both of them wouldn't just reject Bell even if he were to love another woman, however this is my story and I feel like it works better that way, so sorry about that.
