The Fate of the First Hero of Light

The sun has yet to rise.

There is an unknown noise.

"NOOOOOOOOOO! PLEASE DO NOT CURSE ME!"

Zelda jumps out of her majestic bed.

She has her daggers withdrawn, she was sleeping with them inside of her hands!

She is standing still, shaking, sweat pours down her face.

"WHERE IS SHE?" the panicked Zelda screams in her head.

Zelda frantically searches the room, to find if the Paladin Lady Edeline is not hidden somewhere.

Zelda cannot find her, she lets out a sigh of relief.

She goes to lay down once more.

Zelda closes her eyes.

She feels something near her underneath the covers.

"PLEASE STOP! SOMEONE HEL..."

She throws open the blanket.

"Oh...it is just the Geir doll."

Zelda takes the doll Lady Edeline had used to release her furies upon.

Zelda giggles at the doll.

"His hairstyle is terrible!"

She looks to the Geir doll's pompadour.

Zelda thinks back to her sore heart of times past.

The Mighty Dwarven Warrior Thandall Deepstand speaks in her memories of old.

"I truly believe Geir to think of you, as if you were his little sister..."

"Little sister..."

Zelda feels her face is warm and her ears are glowing red!

She holds the Geir doll and pouts her lips closing her eyes.

She goes to kiss the cursed Geir doll.

"Zeldy what are you doing?"

"AAAAAAAIIIIIIIEEEEEE! IT IS NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!"

"What does it not look like Zeldy?"

"THAT VOICE! MJRN?"

A cheerful voice.

"Yes, Zeldy it is me!"

Zelda looks towards the beautiful woman with the ears of a hare.

"Zeldy why do you have this doll?" the Viera points to the doll.

"This...Mjrn please listen closely."

Zelda has not even finished explaining.

The Viera grabs the doll immediately.

"ZELDY!"

"MJRN?"

"WE'RE GOING TO KILL THIS BAD LADY EDELINE!"

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!"

After some time has passed.

Zelda finally calmed Mjrn enough that she did not immediately go to murder the Paladin.

"Zeldy let's go!"

Mjrn grabs Zelda by the wrist and drags her away.

Zelda stands before House Dominitus.

"Please Holy Mother help me!" Zelda sends a plea towards the heavens.

"Zeldy come inside!"

The Viera pulls on Zelda's arm.

"I am sorry Mjrn please I do not want to enter..."

Zelda's feet are planted firm.

She does not want to enter no matter the circumstance.

"ZELDY NOW IS NOT TIME TO BE SHY! YOUR BEST FRIEND IS INSIDE WAITING FOR YOU!"

"PLEASE MJRN STOP I DO NOT WANT TO GO!"

The beautiful woman with the ears of a hare picks up the small Zelda and carries her like a prince saving his damsel into the halls of House Dominitus.

Short times pass inside the halls of House Dominitus.

"SHE DID WHAT?!"

"Yes, Estonny it is true! Here look at it!"

Mjrn hands the handsome, tall man, clad in the red colours of House Dominitus, the cursed doll.

Estonix sighs while shaking his head.

Holding the cursed Geir doll he speaks.

"Claurilly this coiffure of yours is too much. Please how many times must I plead with you to change it?"

"I KNOW! I FEEL THE SAME!" Zelda says aloud by mistake.

Estonix glares at Zelda.

"Why is the beast still here Mjrn?"

CRASH

A broken chair lays against the wall.

The chair was cast with intent to kill Estonix by the Queen!

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING NOW BEAST?"

Zelda grits her teeth gnashing them together.

She searches the close vicinity around her for something to murder Estonix with.

"Hahahaha."

They hear a bubbly laugh.

"You two really are the bestest of friends!" says Mjrn while playfully slapping Estonix on the shoulder.

"IT IS NOT TRUE!" they scream in unison.

The Viera laughs sweetly again.

They look to her and the mood recovers.

They continue.

"Estonny we must do something about this bad person!" says the Viera.

"Mjrn about this..." Estonix knows he was not a neutral party in Geir's sufferings when he was young.

A shadowy figure appears behind Zelda.

"A GOOD MORROW TO YOU YOUR MAJESTY!"

"AAAAAAAIIIIIIIEEEEEE!"

Zelda jumps around and assumes an offensive stance.

"LADY EDELINE!"

"Yes, it is I Your Majesty I could not find you in your quarters. Hence I have tracked you to my House's location."

"YOUR HOUSE?!"

"Yes, Your Majesty I too come from House Dominitus."

Zelda feels an overwhelming malicious presence, she turns to look.

"Edeline what is this?"

Estonix holds the cursed doll firmly in his furious grasp.

Lady Edeline does not look at the object within Estonix's furious grasp.

She speaks to him instead.

"Have you no manners Estonix? Do you not even properly greet your cousin? You must have learned your manners from those despicable beasts."

""Despicable beasts?""

"Yes, you know of whom I speak cousin. That Claurilles and his wicked grandmother Esdeath."

Zelda sees a shadowy figure move with speed.

Finally the figure is standing behind Lady Edeline.

The figure is holding a massive statue aloft.

"DIE YOU BAD PERSON!"

CRASH

Zelda looks on in shock as the statue Mjrn threw breaks into a thousand pieces over Lady Edeline's head.

Lady Edeline falls to the floor.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU LOWLY PEASANT?!"

"WHAT DID YOU CALL MY WIFE?"

The cursed doll is discarded.

Estonix withdraws his rapier he goes to kill Lady Edeline.

"ENOUGH! STOP THIS INSTANT!"

Zelda has had enough!

As the Queen she will not let anymore injustices pass!

"..."

There is silence.

The bleeding Lady Edeline struggles to stand.

She looks to the broken statue laying besides her.

Recognizing the statue, Lady Edeline takes the head of the broken marble sculpture laying beside her.

"No...Lord Anaxtus..."

Zelda sees the pained look on her face as she grabs the statue's head close to her chest.

She starts to cry.

"LADY EDELINE! PLEASE LET ME HELP YOU!"

"Thank you Your Majesty."

Zelda helps her up.

"That accursed Claurilles I will never forgive him for killing Lord Anaxtus..." says Lady Edeline under her breath while standing up.

Zelda feels an indescribable rage inside of her heart, she does not yet understand why.

Lady Edeline sees an object near Zelda's feet.

"Your Majesty did you find my doll?"

Zelda looks and hands Lady Edeline the cursed doll that fell unto the ground in the chaos of the family's unfolded tragedy.

Lady Edeline recovers.

She faces Estonix.

"Estonix as the head of House..."

"Lady Edeline have you been casting curses on Geir since he was young?" asks Zelda.

"..." she does not respond.

"Lady Edeline the curses that were cast in the past on Geir had twisted his memories and clouded his emotions. Do you know of this?" speaks Zelda.

"..."

"Lady Edeline there was one reason why Lord Anaxtus died. Do you know the reason?"

"No, Your Majesty...I do not."

"The reason why Lord Anaxtus died was because Geir had lost his memories of their times together."

"YOUR MAJESTY THAT IS A LIE! HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN EVIL AND HIS GRANDMOTHER!"

Zelda is furious she throws a shiny trinket towards the Paladin.

It falls on the floor.

"What is this?"

The Paladin picks up a silver locket.

She opens it.

Inside is a picture of a small child with a bright smile standing next to a massive man with a stern gaze.

They are both dressed in the red colours of House Dominitus.

"Lord Anaxtus is dead because of the curses and spells you and your conspirators had cast on the young Geir." Zelda casts a look of utter disdain towards the Paladin.

"YOU DO NOT KNOW THAT!"

"I know Geir better than you ever could."

"..."

"Lord Anaxtus is dead because of you Lady Edeline."

"NO, THAT IS NOT TRUE! HE WAS ALWAYS GETTING BETWEEN ME AND LORD ANAXTUS!"

"It was your jealousy of Geir that lead to Lord Anaxtus's death, you are responsible."

Lady Edeline looks downwards her hair hangs in front her face.

"...you cannot know that..."

"In the past I had used forbidden magics to see recollections of Geir's past."

"What does that prove?" asks Lady Edeline.

"Even with his dying breath I could see the true love Lord Anaxtus had for Geir."

The Paladin starts crying again.

"No, Lord Anaxtus..."

She holds the statues head once more.

"Lady Edeline the heartache you have for losing Lord Anaxtus is nothing compared to the torment Geir faces each and every day of his life. Living with the guilt he has for killing the one who loved him the most."

"It is as the beast says Edeline your evil machinations lead directly to father's de..." Lord Estonix of House Dominitus reprimands his villainous cousin, before he can finish...

"SHUT UP FOOL! I AM NOT FINISHED!"

"WHAT DID YOU SAY BEAST? THIS IS MY HOUSE! I AM THE LORD HERE! DO NOT..."

A voice from the next room.

"WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?! Estonix, Mjrn what are you two doing now?"

Geir's Grandmother walks into the hall.

"TEELA!" Zelda almost instantly forgets about House Dominitus's family dramatics.

"Zelda?"

Esdeath greets the distraught Queen.

Estonix greets his beloved Aunt and explains the situation.

Geir's Grandmother shakes her head side to side.

"Ellypoo it seems even when cursing someone you are incompetent."

"ELLYPOO?!" Zelda screams in shock.

"I TOLD YOU TO NEVER CALL ME THAT AGAIN YOU MONSTER!"

Lady Edeline moves to strike Geir's Grandmother.

SNAP

"AAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!"

The Paladin grasps at her broken forearm.

"Ellypoo how many times have we talked about your manners. Estonny, Michelly and Geir all respect their elders why do you always have to fight with me?"

"..."

The Paladin has adjusted to the pain and stands up.

She is bleeding from her head grasping at her broken forearm.

CRACK

Her forearm is mended the broken pieces have been joined.

"Teela why are you here?"

"I came to visit Estonny and his adorable wife."

"..."

Zelda does not know how to act in this awkward encounter.

"Zelda I was married to Lord Anaxtus's brother."

"WHAT DID YOU SAY!?"

"I was married to Lord Anaxtus's brother Tatsumi."

"No, I had heard you Teela I was just shocked."

Once again Zelda sees a shadowy figure move.

"ENOUGH TALKING DIE YOU BAD PERSON!"

CRASH

Someone in a bloodied traditional dress is holding his arm upright while holding the Paladin under his protective grasp.

"GEIRYWEARY I'M SORRY! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?"

"Do not be concerned Mjrn, I am unharmed."

"DO NOT TOUCH ME CLAURILLES!"

The Paladin pushes Geir away and flees from his protective grasp.

"GEIR!" Zelda shouts out in relief.

Her hero has arrived!

Geir takes in his surroundings.

"Zelda what is going on here?"

"Well about that..."

The situation is explained.

"Claurilly here." Estonix hands Geir the cursed doll.

"What is this?"

Zelda explains what happened the other day when he was taken by the healers.

"I see..."

Geir starts shedding tears.

"I will never forgive you! No matter how much you cry." speaks the Paladin.

Zelda feels rage overtake her.

Zelda grabs a chair of murder close to her!

She is going to personally send Lady Edeline to the afterlife!

Before she can strike, a hand grabs her firmly on the shoulder.

Geir stopped her.

She sees Geir smile while tears of joy are flowing down his cheeks.

"Geir why are you smilin..."

Geir closes Zelda's lips with his fingers pressing them closed together.

"Thank you ancient ancestors! I will tell Vivi that I was under a curse, that was why I had almost died. She will then stop suspecting her terrible cooking of being the cause!"

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" screams everyone in the room.

"Did I say that aloud?"

"YES!"
