Chapter 11
Notes: Ah, I'm sorry guys… but also not really. This is first and foremost a Calzona story – but it also has a typical Grey's case feel to it, because it's more fun. So, there's going to have to be background chapters, too. I know the last couple of chapters didn't have much interaction between Callie and Arizona outside of Alexandra's case. But, I had to set the story up! Remember, it's only been about 5 or 6 days since Arizona told Christian and confessed her love for Callie, and Arizona's whole family has been with her since the day after, up until a day ago. They've really only had Monday, and some of Tuesday, to talk again. BUT - These were necessary steps to get us where we're going. And, so many people were disappointed with a rushed relationship, I'm trying to bring us there slowly. This is probably going to be a longggg story. But, I promise, I won't ditch before it's over this time. I'm aiming for at least 2-3 updates a week.
And I know, I know, Christian is boring. But, he still matters right now while they're still married. *Insert family law attorney speech here* It's going to matter, later down the line, how all of it plays out with him now. He's not a main character, and I promise he isn't a bad guy either – so we'll have little drama from him.
Regardless, I think you'll be satisfied here *insert winky face*.
At least your reviews made me feel bad enough to move it to get another out so, here's another long one to make up for it . This one's rated M for Maybe you should read this one alone….

Arizona sat at the counter of the penthouse she once shared with Christian. It was only the second time she had been home since Friday night, having spent most of the weekend with Timothy, at his hotel, or catching a few hours in an on-call room during her shifts. Despite that, each time she entered the door, she expected to feel sad, or confused, something negative, but each time she stepped through the threshold of their… her home, she felt a renewed sense of happiness - certainty. She really had ended her marriage, come clean about everything, started fixing everything she'd messed up. It both shocked and exhilarated the pediatric surgeon.
She'd found the note from Christian on a brief return home on Saturday evening with Timothy to grab an overnight bag so she could comfortably spend the night at the hotel with Timothy and her parents. Arizona had noticed the manilla folder beside the note, but hadn't yet brought herself to open it.
"Hey Phoenix, did you see this note yet?" Timothy called from the kitchen of his older sister's penthouse. Arizona had gone into the bedroom to grab herself some clothing, her toothbrush, and her medication.
When no answer came, Timothy tried again, "Arizona?"
"Huh?" Arizona called back. She was pre-occupied with the mess she'd walked into in the bedroom. Christian had clearly been there. The picture frame that used to sit on their dresser was shattered across their bedroom floor, the photo lying upside down up against the leg of a chair off to the side of the bedroom.
"There's a note on the counter, from Christian," Timothy said as he appeared in the doorway of Arizona's bedroom.
"Makes sense," Arizona replied as she started cleaning up the pieces of the frame on the floor. "He clearly had a… moment?" Arizona tried to smile, but the knowledge of how badly she'd hurt Christian was lingering in the back of her mind.
"He left, he's letting you have the penthouse," Timothy told her as he bent down to help her clean up the mess.
"I figured he would, this was a marital home to him, it never was to me," Arizona told her brother as she picked up the last of the glass and stood up to toss the pieces in the adjoining bathroom's trashcan.
"I think he left divorce papers on the counter," Timothy told her, tossing the pieces he'd retrieved into the trash can alongside Arizona.
"He moves quickly. I haven't even had a chance to talk to Callie about any of this yet… I really picked the worst weekend to catapult myself out of the closet," Arizona said laughing, heading toward the kitchen to read the note Christian left.
She smiled, placing the note back on the counter, upside down. "He's a good man," she told her brother, "He deserves someone who loves him."
"So do you," Timothy told her, pulling her into a tight hug.
"I know Timothy, it took me so long to realize that, but I know," she said, hugging him back.
"Do you think that Callie is that person for you?"
She pulled away from Christian and placed the manilla envelope in the junk drawer closest to the refrigerator. She wasn't quite ready to read whatever it was Christian had left for her. She assumed it was divorce papers, and while she knew she had to make moves on that, she wasn't quite ready to face it – not until she talked to Callie about everything.
"I want her to be," Arizona told her brother. "I know she loves me. But I'm not so naïve that I think she'll just jump right into my arms three seconds after I leave my husband and tell her I'm sorry. There is a lot of hurt to unpack for her, I'm sure."
"Have you talked to her since you told Christian?"
"The night I left him, I went to her apartment and told her I loved her. I told her I left Christian, and that I didn't want her to be a secret anymore, but I haven't been able to find much time to talk to her since that night," Arizona answered.
"Do you think that's fair to Callie? It's been two days since you told Christian, hasn't it?"
"No, and I know it's not. We've seen each other at work, and she's been nothing but typical Callie every time. I don't know why I haven't reached out yet – I just am nervous, I guess? It's one thing to have a secret affair, but an entirely different thing to truly pursue a woman," Arizona said nervously, "I have no idea what I'm doing."
"Phoenix, you dated Callie already. You may have only been 'just friends' all those years ago, but you were still dating her… and you have to realize that now," Timothy said, laughing, "You're not that much of a rookie."
"Shut up Timothy. I'm going to talk to her, about everything, I just need some time to process all this new… and don't get me wrong, it's good new. But it's a lot and I don't want to say the wrong thing because I didn't give myself enough time to even figure out what to say," Arizona explained.
"I don't know, you could start with, 'would you like to go to dinner?'" Timothy joked.
"I will. I know how to do that much… I just… this is probably stupid, and hypocritical after everything I've done for the last six months, but I want to wait until we sign divorce papers. Callie deserves someone who is fully available, and I'm not until we sign those papers."
"You know signing the papers doesn't mean you're divorced right?"
"Shut up Timothy, I know that. But at least then I can truly show her I'm available. Not just am I finally available and willing to be fully out of the closet, but I'm available physically, emotionally, and literally… She deserves that, and we both deserve a clean slate."
Arizona smiled at the memory of her brother. She didn't get to see him often anymore, with him being a father and a Captain in the United States Marines. His frequent trips to Maryland from North Carolina were a thing of the past, and the commute to Seattle simply wasn't as easy. Getting up from her chair, she walked over to the refrigerator and retrieved the manilla envelope Christian had left her a few nights prior from the drawer beside it.
She took in a deep breath and opened the gold clasp, unfolded the upper portion, and pulled the stack of papers out.
In the District Court for King County, Washington
In re the Marriage of Weston and Robbins
Petitioner: Christian Weston
Co-Petitioner: Arizona Robbins
Co-Petition for Dissolution of Marriage
Christian had filled out the remainder of the standard form for divorce, checking off the box for irreconcilable differences leading the marriage to be irretrievably broken. He'd already signed the document. Grabbing a pen from off the counter, she quickly added her signature to the bottom of the form. She placed the papers back into the envelope and made a mental note to make sure she brought them to work on Thursday so she could put them on Christian's desk.
Now that the papers were signed, she decided it was time to talk to Callie. She put the envelope on the counter by the binders she had brought home to review for the upcoming surgeries she had scheduled for the week. Heading toward the livingroom, she grabbed her phone off the table by the front door, and settled down, curling up onto the couch. Opening her text message string with Charming, she quickly typed out a message and hit send before she could change her mind.
Hey, sorry I've been so busy with my family, and then work. I promise I haven't been blowing you off. I know you're probably not off until later, but I'd really like to talk. Would you come over?
Callie had never been to Arizona's house. Arizona had enough respect for Christian to not cheat on him in his own apartment, on his own furniture. It didn't take long for Callie to respond.
7:30 okay, I promised Yang dinner?

7:24 PM
Callie was going to be at Arizona's condo in less than 10 minutes. She'd spent most of the day reviewing paperwork, preparing for a conference she was due at in a month, and intermittently tidying her condo for Callie's arrival. So far she had changed the sheets in her bedroom, folded her laundry, ironed every shirt in her closet – despite them not needing it, sanitized every surface, vacuumed, and changed out every oil diffuser in her home. Arizona was stress cleaning. She wasn't entirely sure why she was so nervous to see Callie again, they'd been working rather closely at the hospital all week because of young Miss. Dianetti. They'd had to prepare a surgical plan, review charts, and comfort the young girl and her family frequently over the last couple of days. This was different, she had prepared a mouthful of a speech, and she was going to officially tell Callie she intended to properly court her, the way she deserved.
A knock at the door caused Arizona to jump, leaping off the couch. Callie was early. That was odd, Callie was rarely early to anything. She took in a deep breath, you can do this Arizona, it's just Callie. She glanced down at herself, giving herself a once-over before walking toward the front door. Arizona had on a pair of dark blue jeans and a simple white t-shirt. Her hair was curled around her face, lying loosely around her shoulders. She'd just showered an hour before, and wore no makeup. She had on a pair of white sneakers, but quickly decided it looked weird wearing shoes in her own home, so instead she had on a simple pair of white socks. Reaching the door, Arizona took in another deep breath and opened it.
"Hey," she said with a smile once she saw Callie's smiling face standing in her doorway.
"Exactly how much money does Dr. Weston have?!" Callie exclaimed as soon as Arizona opened the door. Just walking through the lobby, and being sent up the elevator by a 24/7 concierge, had Callie floored. Dr. Torres had money, her family had money, but this was next level.
Arizona laughed and stepped to the side to let Callie inside, "Get in here you loser."
"This place is insane," Callie told her, looking around. The apartment was huge, 2,500 sq. ft of nearly almost entirely open space. The kitchen was to the left of the front door, with plenty of huge white barn door style cabinentry – the kind with simple, yet study black metal handles. The appliances were all 'Smart,' aside from the stove which was a classic four burner gas stove with a dual oven. Callie gawked at the sight, almost getting ahead of herself at the idea of getting to make Arizona breakfast on that stove someday. The kitchen connected to a large dining area with a built in wet bar that matched the kitchen. The livingroom backed up to the dining area and was tastefully decorated with light greys, whites, blacks, subtle tones of seafoam green, and pieces of camel brown. An office sat off to the side of the entrance to what Callie assumed was a bedroom in a small nook.
Arizona laughed, "Thanks. I'll take that as a compliment to me since I did most of the work to make this place what it is."
"This view is insane," Callie told her, walking toward the vast wall made up of floor to ceiling windows. The livingroom space of Arizona's condo overlooked Elliot Bay, with a completely unobstructed view. "There's no blockage from other towers," Callie said, staring out the window. It was nighttime, but the light from the moon lit up the water's edge enough that Callie could see the waves crashing calmly against the shore.
"There's an easement, no one can build anything that obstructs the view of the Bay," Arizona told her, coming to stand up beside her. Callie looked perfect. Her hair was tied up in a loose bun, a black sweater hung loosely off her shoulders, and a pair of simple light blue jeans covered her legs. "I love this view. I've got Pike Place views from the guest room, and my room overlooks the Bay as well. It's a beautiful sunset, when I'm actually home to catch it," Arizona added, looping an arm around Callie's waist, and gently resting her head on her shoulder as the two looked out the window together. They stood there like that for a few moments before Callie looped an arm around Arizona's shoulder's, pulled her close for a hug, and then shimmied herself away from the blonde's grasp.
"You've been pretty MIA lately," Callie said, breaking the silence and heading toward the couch to sit down. "I'm glad you reached out to talk… though I do wish it wasn't the night before we head into a major surgery."
Arizona followed Callie over to the couch and sat down beside her, positioning herself so that the women were still looking at one another to speak. "I know, I meant to reach out sooner, but so much has happened in the last few days that I really needed some time to process. I hope you can understand that, it wasn't you. I didn't want to come to you with all this confusion."
"I do, I just wish you'd have told me you were processing, not avoiding me," Callie told her honestly.
"I'd planned this whole speech out… of what I was going to say to you. But, now that you're here and I'm looking at you, I really can't remember a damn word of it," Arizona said with a smile. She took Callie's hand into her own… "So, I guess I'll do the same thing with you that I did with my parents. Can you please give me the opportunity to talk… without interruption? I promise I'll respect whatever you have to say once I'm done, and listen to whatever it is you want to say – but can you please give me a chance to explain?"
Callie thought for a moment, and nodded, "Yes, I can do that for you."
Arizona smiled, and placed a kiss to the top of Callie's hand. "Thank you." She waited a moment, and gathered her thoughts. "Okay, I'm ready…"
"Well, get on with it doc," Callie said, giving Arizona an encouraging laugh to show that she wasn't angry with her by any means. A little confused, but not angry.
"Obviously, you already know that Timothy knows about us. He's known since the moment I told him about my new friend Callie that there was something going on between us. Especially because after things ended between you and I the first time, Timothy was incredible – I knew that once I explained everything to him, we would be okay," Arizona paused for a moment, "Of course, I was right," she laughed to herself, "and everything was fine. Timothy is very supportive of whatever is going on between the two of us."
"I knew he'd come around once you talked it out," Callie offered, sensing Arizona was babbling. "Go on," she added, sitting back on the couch.
"My parents were a different story…" Arizona went on to explain to Callie exactly how her conversation with her parents had gone. She explained how her father had embraced her quickly, that they'd spent the weekend enjoying laughs like they always had. Truthfully, Arizona explained, she had been shocked by how easily her father had fallen into the role of supportive dad of a homosexual child. She informed Callie about how her mother had told her she needed time, but still loved her. She explained that despite her mother's initial assertions, they didn't talk much for the remainder of the visit, that it hadn't surprised her much that her mother didn't jump on board quickly. She told Callie how they traveled around Washington, Tim and Daniel laughing and chatting with Arizona as if nothing had changed, while Barbara remained uncharacteristically quiet in the backseat of the car.
"I wasn't expecting my mother to be happy about this, or to accept it at all, so I'm not wholly disappointed in how she reacted," Arizona told Callie, as a tear fell from the corner of her eye and started it's decent down her left cheek. Callie reached up and swiped her thumb across Arizona's cheek, capturing the tear and wiping it away.
"It's been surreal," Arizona continued, "Finally being able to say it over and over again that I am a lesbian and I am done hiding."
Callie smiled, remembering the feeling all too well. Sure, she'd come out at the ripe old age of 15, but it was still an incredible feeling to finally own it. It no longer mattered what the kids at school were talking about behind her back because she'd finally stood up and confirmed it herself. She'd taken back the narrative.
"But one minute I am absolutely elated, and the next I am absolutely terrified with what I've done. I am 34 years old and I just finally admitted it to myself what I've known since I was 22. I am on top of the world that I don't have to hide anymore, or keep secrets, or lie, or hurt anyone… but jesus christ. I've never really dated a woman, I've been pretending I was one thing my whole life – and what are people going to think?" Arizona paused and looked up at Callie with terror in her eyes. "What are people going to think Callie? When I suddenly start dating you, after being married to the Chief the whole time I've been at Seattle Grace Mercy West? I can just picture the gossip spreading around the hospital when someone catches us…"
"Arizona, no one is asking you to come running screaming out of the closet," Callie reminded her softly, running a hand down the older woman's back.
"Shh, let me finish," Arizona teased with a grateful smile. She had started to spiral into a what-if again, and Callie's comment brought her out of it.
"Sorry, continue sunshine," Callie said.
"I signed the divorce papers this morning," Arizona told Callie suddenly. "Christian left them on the counter over the weekend. I wanted to wait until they were signed before I talked to you. I felt like we deserved a clean slate this time."
Callie smiled at the words. Arizona was finally divorcing Christian, like she'd told her she was going to for the better half of the last six months. Before arriving at Arizona's, Callie had decided that what she was feeling was nothing more than utter confusion. She'd thought she was angry at first, having gone days without so much as a word from Arizona that didn't have to do with medicine… but after their moment in the hallway at work on Saturday, Callie had decided Arizona wasn't purposefully avoiding her after their heated exchange – maybe she was just busy. Then, Callie had converted to outright confusion after realizing that Arizona could have, but didn't, let her know what she was thinking while running around Washington with her family. Callie hadn't really thought about comparing Arizona's reaction to her own back when she first came out. It was terrifying. Exhilarating, but terrifying.
"I – I want this still, Callie. I want you," Arizona told her. "But I also understand if you're not ready to jump in head first after everything… I understand if you need time, especially knowing that I'm still coming to terms with all of this… I'm not ready to paint my face with rainbows and walk in the Pride Parade, but I'm also not saying that I'm not ready to be open about dating you either… because I am, I am okay with - "
"Arizona, you can stop now," Callie said, leaning over and placing a kiss on her lips to stop her from rambling. "I know you're not ready to Marshall the Pride Parade."
"I just wanted to –"
Callie leaned over and kissed her again, "Shut up Robbins." She knew they still had a ton to talk about, but at this point, the knowledge that Arizona had made good on every promise she made to her: coming out to her family, leaving Christian, divorcing him – it was all too much to handle, and her temperature was rising quickly. Callie wanted nothing more than to take her to bed, claim her, now that she was free.
"Sorry."
"So you signed the divorce papers?" Callie scooted closer to the blonde and shifted to move her head into the crook of Arizona's neck, whispering suggestively into her ear.
"Yes." Arizona gulped.
"So, you're officially single?" Callie asked, placing a kiss so light Arizona barely felt it onto the slender neck of the blonde's right side. Arizona was officially putty in her hands.
"Yes." Arizona closed her eyes and shuddered.
"Well then," Callie said, pulling back to look at Arizona with a shit-eating grin, "I'm Callie Torres." She extended her hand to Arizona for a handshake, "and I'd love to take you out sometime."
Arizona looked at her dumbfounded for a moment before snapping out of it. She playfully whacked Callie's hand away, and then swatted her chest. "Callie Torres, you are a jerk!"
"You sure about that?" Callie asked, raising her eyebrow at the blonde. She leaned over, laced her fingers into the hair at the back of Arizona's neck, and pulled the blonde closer. She smiled against the blonde's lips before capturing them into a gentle kiss. It started out soft, gentle, and emotional. Simple pecks slowly transformed into languid kisses, tongues drawing themselves out as their hunger increased. They kissed for what seemed like hours before Callie suddenly pulled away, expecting an answer.
"… I'm suddenly not so sure."
Callie smirked, "I remember you said something about a nice view in your bedroom."
Arizona got the hint. She leapt off the couch, grabbing Callie by the hand and dragging her up off the couch. She pulled Callie into her arms and captured her lips in a sloppy kiss. Callie returned the action, opening her mouth and sliding her tongue out to collide against Arizona's. She rose her hands to the hem of Arizona's shirt and lifted it swiftly over her head, tossing it onto the couch behind her.
"Bedroom," Callie said simply once she broke away from their kiss. Arizona nodded, her chest heaving from the intensity of their kiss. She quickly slipped around Callie and headed toward the bedroom door beside the kitchen. Callie stood in her spot, watching Arizona move, until Arizona's hands rose up behind her, unclasped her bra and tossed it at Callie.
"Are you coming, or what?" Arizona asked, looking over her shoulder at Callie with a smirk.
"Fuck yes," Callie groaned, dropping the black bra to the floor and running to follow Arizona into the bedroom.
Callie was the only one who knew how to make Arizona's body light on fire. She'd had sex with at least two other women, and Christian, but none of them could ever get to Arizona quite like Callie could. Arizona chalked most of it up to the fact that none of them ever made her feel as comfortable as Callie did. With Callie, she didn't have to pretend that she didn't enjoy some raunchy conversation, getting roughed up, or… anything of the sort. She didn't have to hide her body, or be self-conscious, Callie's eyes told her everything she needed to know about how the brunette felt about her. Arizona never had to question what to do, or what Callie liked, and even though she enjoyed instructing Callie what to do, Arizona knew she'd never have to say a word if she didn't feel like it, and Callie would still send her careening over a cliff.
Entering the room, Callie tore her sweater off her body and threw it to the ground. By the time she had followed Arizona in the room, Arizona had already discarded her jeans and socks, and was sitting on the edge of the foot of the king-sized bed.
"Well, fuck," Callie muttered to herself, taking in the sight of Arizona sitting innocently on the bed in nothing but a pair of black underwear.
"See something you like?" Arizona asked with a smirk.
"I see plenty of things I like, starting with those eyes, and heading alllll the way down those gorgeous legs," Callie purred, unbuttoning her own jeans and pulling them down and off her body as she walked toward Arizona.
"Hmm, well I think you'd better show me then," Arizona whispered back, leaning backwards onto the bed as Callie crawled on top of her.
Callie decided not to answer, choosing instead to start trailing open mouthed kisses from just below Arizona's ear to her collarbone, pulling Arizona up further onto the bed. Her right arm was supporting her weight above Arizona's body, while her left hand drug slowly up and down Arizona's right side, making sure to brush ever so slightly against Arizona's nipple each time she passed it. Arizona moaned when Callie's tongue made contact with the sweet spot on the side of her neck, and her hands instantly shot up to wrap around Callie's shoulders, pulling her weight down onto her harder.
Arizona whined, using her hand to pull Callie's head up from her neck to kiss her. Their lips met again, and this time Arizona opened her mouth to suck Callie's lower lip into her mouth. She ran her tongue along it's fullness, sucked on it lightly, and bit it, just enough to gain a reaction from Callie before dropping it from her mouth and kissing the woman softly. Callie growled at the sensation and let her left hand drift from Arizona's hip toward her breast. Taking her nipple between her thumb and index finger, Callie rolled her nipple between her fingers, tugging lightly on it.
Arizona moaned in pleasure at the feeling, her lips still pressed sloppily against her lovers. Callie growled again at the feeling, and shifted so her leg slid between Arizona's thighs. Both women moaned at the contact. Arizona had completely soaked the thin fabric of her underwear and was shocked by the sudden pressure against her center. Callie could feel just how wet Arizona had gotten against her thigh, sending her into an intoxicating fog.
"Callie," Arizona muttered breathlessly as their lips parted and Callie resumed her trail of hot, wet, open-mouthed kisses down her collarbone, through the valley between her breasts. She paused at each breast, licking, sucking, and biting Arizona's nipples until they were tender. She continued downward, letting her tongue slip swiftly into Arizona's belly button, then down to her right hip bone. Callie paused for a moment to suck hard on the skin just beside her bone, leaving a dark red mark that she was certain would soon turn purple. Finally, Callie could leave discreet marks on her lover's body without abandon. Arizona's hips bucked roughly off the bed at the feeling, shoving her hips into Callie's face.
Callie responded by smirking against the skin of Arizona's hip, using one arm to shove her hips back down onto the bed, and the other to snake down toward Arizona's thighs. Arizona's body shook with anticipation, trying to adjust her hips to get Callie to drag her fingers where she wanted them.
Callie took the hint. She grabbed both of Arizona's wrists in her hand and shoved them above her head.
"Move your hands and I will stop." Callie told her, giving her a look that let Arizona know she was not joking. Finally, Callie moved, letting her fingers dance slowly up toward the apex of Arizona's thighs. Using only her fingertips, Callie started drawing small shapes against the skin just millimeters from the edge of Arizona's underwear.
Arizona cried out in frustration, gripping the sheets above her head, "Callie I swear to fucking – "
Callie cut her off, finally pressing her fingers against Arizona's soaking wet underwear and rubbing her gently up and down, up and down. Arizona's breath caught in the back of her throat as she tried to let out a moan, but couldn't.
"So fucking wet," Callie husked, her voice sinfully low.
"Please," Arizona pleaded, bucking her hips against Callie's hand, desperate for her to increase the pressure of her fingers against her core.
"Please? Please what, Arizona?" Callie rasped, continuing to run her fingers lightly up and down. She increased the pressure of the arm holding Arizona's hips down, trying to control the force being applied to Arizona's center. Callie was staring into Arizona's eyes as her fingers slowly worked her core, refusing to break the intensity of their eye contact.
"Please Callie," Arizona moaned frantically, the lightness of Callie's touch making her go dizzy with desire. It was just enough to make her orgasm, but she wanted more. She wasn't letting Callie have it that easily, especially if this was going to be her first orgasm with Callie as a free woman.
"Are you going to cum already Arizona?" Callie asked brazenly.
"Fuck… Callie, fuck…" Arizona groaned, her hips bucking so wildly that Callie's arm could no longer hold them still.
"No one told you that you could cum yet," Callie reminded her, a sexy grin spread across her face.
Arizona groaned and closed her eyes with a dramatic roll. Callie, ignited by Arizona's sass, pulled her hand back, decreasing the pressure of her up and down movements.
"Fucking fuck me, please… Touch me… Something… More… Harder… I don't care, just please Callie, please I am so fucking close," Arizona stuttered, clearly past the point of refusing to beg for what she wanted. Her hips jumped forwards again, trying desperately to get Callie's fingers to press harder, not softer.
Callie's eyes darkened at the sight of Arizona's hips bucking with wanton recklessness, losing herself in the view. Arizona took this opportunity to press her hips harder against Callie's hand, finally getting just the right amount of pressure that with one more up and down swipe of Callie's fingers, she was falling rapidly over the edge. Arizona's body was exploding, every nerve ending on fire, her legs shaking ever so slightly – her body stiffened abruptly and she let go with a loud, unadulterated groan. Callie could feel the rush of wetness from Arizona's orgasm against her hand despite Arizona's underwear still covering her core.
"Damn," Callie said, finally, cupping her hand around Arizona's still covered pussy, and smiled, "You are so fucking sexy."
Callie leaned up from her position, shimmied her way down Arizona's body, pulling her back to the edge of the bed before she could recover or protest, and dropped herself onto the floor to sit up on her knees between the blonde's legs. Arizona sat up after a few seconds to look down at the woman now kneeling between her thighs. Callie leaned up, pulling Arizona down and kissed her, sliding her tongue into her mouth briefly.
She pulled away and used both of her hands to tug the black underwear off of Arizona's body. "I need to taste you," she said, licking her lips at the sight of Arizona's now fully naked body.
Before Arizona could speak, or tell Callie that she was still riding the waves of her first orgasm, Callie dipped her head and flattened her tongue, licking slowly from Arizona's opening, all the way up to the tip of her clit. Arizona's hands immediately flew to intertwine with Callie's hair, pulling her face closer.
"Fuck," Arizona moaned, "Fuck baby." Her hips started grinding involuntarily to the movement of Callie's tongue against her.
Callie continued, lapping at Arizona from top to bottom two more times before sliding her tongue between her folds and sucking Arizona's wetness into her mouth. She groaned at the sweet, yet slightly salty taste of her lover, sucking as much of her into her mouth as possible.
"Oh my god," Arizona groaned. Callie's tongue was fucking magic. She fell backwards on the bed, one hand staying locked into Callie's hair, and the other falling beside her to grip at whatever she could.
"Mmm," Callie moaned against her, sliding her tongue upwards to lick roughly at Arizona's clit. Arizona's hips bucked again, her hand pulled her face impossibly closer, and she felt Arizona purposefully start to grind herself against Callie's tongue. Callie obliged for a moment, opening her mouth, flattening her tongue, and letting the other woman ride her face. Just as Callie felt Arizona's legs start to lock up in anticipation, she pulled away, replacing her mouth with two fingers being shoved quickly into her core.
Arizona's upper body flew up off the bed at the sudden fullness and an incoherent string of words left her mouth, "Fu – Ca- Fuck, oh – shit Callie, fuck."
Callie withdrew her fingers slowly, up until just the tips remained inside of her. She paused for just a second, and then immediately shoved them back inside her quickly.
"Fuck," Arizona moaned out again. Her body was on fire. Callie was purposefully bringing her to the edge of orgasm and taking it away just as quickly over and over again.
"Tell me you want to cum again," Callie told her, continuing to drag her fingers slowly out of Arizona, then thrusting them back in roughly.
"I – I want – I want to cum," Arizona groaned, stuttering over her words as Callie shoved her fingers back into her body harder than she had before. Arizona was impossibly wet, so much so that Callie was finding it increasingly difficult to withdraw her fingers slowly. Callie was so intoxicated by the feel of Arizona's hot, wet, core grasping at her fingers each time she entered her, that she was struggling to keep her pace. She wanted nothing more than to fuck her lover hard and fast until she came so hard she had to shove Callie away to regain her composure.
"Yeah baby? You want to cum?" Callie asked, emphasizing the word cum with a hard thrust of her fingers, this time adding a third.
Arizona's eyes flew open at the contact, an almost animalistic moan escaping her lips. That was it, Callie knew it. Arizona's walls were officially down, and Callie knew she was about to get what she wanted, which in turn would lead to what she and Arizona both wanted.
"Fuck Callie," Arizona growled, digging her fingers into the back of Callie's head.
"Fuck me, please. Harder. I need it," Arizona growled again, when Callie didn't increase her speed.
"How?" Callie asked, escaping her trance for a moment and picking up the pace of her fingers slightly.
"Callie," Arizona begged.
"Arizona," Callie warned, keeping her ministrations at this new, slightly faster pace, "Dígame."
That did it. Arizona always caved when Callie spoke in Spanish to her in bed, and hearing Callie demand, 'tell me' in Spanish was almost always Arizona's undoing.
"Your fingers, please. Faster… Give it to me, please… Too slow… Shove your fingers inside me… make me cum baby, please," Arizona mewled, hoping Callie would take the hint and fuck her.
Callie grinned, shoving her fingers in and out of Arizona's core with increasing speed until Arizona cried out in pleasure. Callie knew, in that moment, that she'd hit the speed Arizona wanted. Callie peppered Arizona's thighs with kisses as she pumped her fingers in and out of the moaning, thrashing blonde on the bed. Arizona was close, and Callie knew it. But, it wasn't enough for Callie. She wanted more.
"That's it baby, cum for me," Callie whispered as she kissed her way toward Arizona's clit. She took it between her lips and sucked gently on it.
"Fuck!" Arizona moaned, loud enough for the neighbors two buildings over to hear. "Fuck Callie, please. Yes, yes, yes, fuck." Arizona was downright crying at this point, her body so close to falling over the edge that she could barely stand the feeling of Callie's tongue licking rapidly from side to side at her clit.
"Fuck, yes baby, please let me, let me cum baby, I can't –," Arizona groaned again, her body shaking uncontrollably under Callie's touch.
Callie growled at the request and sucked Arizona's clit into her mouth. She sucked hard on her while rapidly flicking her tongue across the engorged bundle of nerves. She increased the speed of her fingers thrusting in and out of Arizona ever so slightly. Callie's arm was starting to get weak, but she didn't care – all she wanted was to feel Arizona come undone under her control.
Callie bit down ever so slightly on Arizona's clit and within seconds the blonde was spewing out a barrage of curse words, shoving Callie away with her hands roughly.
"Fuck, fuck, shit, oh my god," Arizona could not control herself, and within seconds a third orgasm ripped through her body, sending a gush of wetness splashing against Callie's face and tongue. Arizona was frantically trying to get away from Callie, alternating between moaning out genuine apologies and succumbing to the pleasurable waves still racking her body.
Callie withdrew, wiped her face on her right arm, sat herself down backwards against her heels, and allowed her left arm to finally relax, "Did you just –" she started to say.
"Shut up," Arizona yelped tiredly, cutting her off. Her body was still shaking as the final waves of pleasure finally started to subside.
"You just –"
"I said shut up," Arizona whined, her body completely exhausted and unable to react physically.
"God that is so fucking hot."
Arizona groaned and covered her face with her arms dramatically. Callie immediately lifted herself up off the floor and crawled up beside Arizona on the bed. She wrapped the blonde up into her arms and kissed the top of her head. It wasn't long before Arizona drifted off into a comfortable slumber, completely spent from the earthshattering orgasms Callie had just given her… in her bed, for a change.
Callie managed to pull the blankets awkwardly over their bodies, well, mostly over Arizona. The weight of their bodies made it impossible to move the blanket from under them, so Callie had opted to pull the blankets over them from the opposite side of the bed and it was only wide enough to cover Arizona, and half of her. She spent some time looking around the bedroom, before falling asleep. No evidence of Christian remained, as far as Callie could see. The pictures on the wall were decidedly feminine, not likely to be photographs chosen by Christian. There were no photos of Arizona and Christian, there were no bottles of cologne, watches, or other manly items on any of the dressers. In fact, based on the indentation on the carpet in the corner of the room, it looked like a chair – probably Christian's – had even been removed from the bedroom. It felt weird to Callie to be in Arizona's bed – a bed she shared with her husband – but at the same time, Callie had slept with dozens of women in her bed – including Arizona. She decided in that moment, that she would not overthink it. Christian was gone. Sure, things weren't defined, or perfect between her and Arizona, but she had her, lying in her arms, in her apartment. Things were already starting to look up. Sure, Arizona could run again, she could shut her out again, she could go into freak-out mode on her own again, but, Callie decided, it was worth it to be with Arizona – eventually, she hoped.
Callie's alarm went off at 6 AM. When she woke up, Arizona was still curled up tightly against her chest. The blanket had been removed off of Callie entirely, she surmised Arizona had pulled it around her in the middle of the night. She smiled at the sight as she pulled herself out of Arizona's grasp and stood up from the bed.
"Callie?" Arizona questioned groggily.
"Hey, go back to sleep, we don't operate until noon," Callie told her as she walked over to her jeans, retrieved her phone from her back pocket, and shut the alarm off.
"What time is it?" Arizona asked, rubbing her sleepy eyes.
"6. I need to get to the hospital for 7, I'm meeting with Dr. Minnick at 9:30 to prep for Alexandra's surgery and I need to do rounds and assign out my patients for the day beforehand," Callie explained as she headed toward the adjoining bathroom.
"You can take a shower if you want," Arizona told her, sitting up in the bed and climbing underneath the covers.
"Thanks, I will. I've got a change of clothes at the hospital, so I'll change there. You should go back to sleep," Callie told her, turning on the bathroom light to the dim setting.
"I need to get up too, I'm scheduled at 8," Arizona told her. "You go shower, I'll get up in a minute and make us something to eat. We can go into work together, I don't mind being early."
Callie smiled at the thought. They'd spent the night together, waking up every so often to make love again. They'd finally fallen into deep sleep around 1:30 in the morning. And now, she was waking up to Arizona still in her arms, Arizona telling her to take a shower at her house, that she would make them breakfast, and go to work together. It was all too surreal for Callie, and all she could do was nod, head into the bathroom, and shut the door.
Once inside the bathroom, Callie leaned against the dual sink with both arms. She took in a deep breath and tried to calm the smile off her face. She needed to not get ahead of herself. She wanted to do this right, this time. Callie bent over and retrieved a fluffy white towel from under the left sink. The bathroom looked much like the kitchen, with white barn style cabinets and light quartz countertops. She walked over to the glass shower doors and turned on the shower. It was hot within moments, to her surprise. Damn, Robbins this place is nice, she thought to herself as she stepped into the shower.
Arizona sat in the bed for a few more minutes, like she'd said, and was standing in the kitchen in an oversized t-shirt by the time Callie had stepped into the shower. With a dopey smile on her face, Arizona began preparing the pair some coffee. She was on cloud 9. Things with Callie had gone better than she expected last night. And now she was making her breakfast in her condo. She was going to go to work with Callie, instead of trying to figure out to stagger their appearances so no one would suspect anything. It felt incredibly good to not have to hide anything anymore. She prepared a batch of scrambled eggs, and toasted 2 pieces of toast for their breakfasts, and grinned as she saw Callie emerge from her bedroom with wet hair, dressed in her same clothing from last night just as she was placing their plates at two seats on the counter.
"Smells good," Callie said, sitting down in front of one of the plates.
"Thanks, breakfast is my specialty," Arizona said with a wink, moving around the counter to sit beside Callie.
"I'll take care of the dishes when you shower," Callie told her as she took a long swig of her fresh coffee. She practically moaned, "This coffee is fantastic."
"Thanks," Arizona said, her eyes glazing over at the sound, "It's my favorite from this little coffee shop in Tallahassee that I used to go to when my dad was in Panama City Beach."
"You would have coffee from across the country."
"Shut up, it's good!"
Callie smiled and nodded, "It is."
"Eat. We need to get to work, I don't live nearly as close to the hospital as you do," Arizona told her as she turned to start eating her breakfast.
"We don't have to go in together, if you're not ready for that," Callie said as she started on her eggs.
"We're going in together because I want to. I'm not suggesting we hold hands, or anything like that. I'm saying let's just go to work together," Arizona explained.
Callie nodded her understanding. She wasn't exactly sure she was even ready for that. She didn't want them to flaunt their relationship until Arizona was divorced, until she was sure that things were going to work out for them this time.
"I know you're worried," Arizona told her, "I am too. I want to do this. I want to be with you. But, I want to do this right."
"What do you mean?"
"I want to do this right. I don't want to rush into anything, especially not anything we both aren't ready for," Arizona started to explain, "And I want to protect you. I can only imagine what everyone will say if we just started dating and Christian and I's divorce becomes public knowledge. You don't deserve that. So, I mean it Callie, I want to do this right."
"You don't need to protect me," Callie said.
"I know I don't. But, you don't deserve that. Neither does Christian."
"Neither do you."
"This – this is my own doing. And I'm coming to terms with that too. I have a lot of work to do, and I'm going to do it. That incudes with you, and with myself. I'm excited to take this step, but I'm also terrified, and I don't want you to be caught up in the crossfire of that."
"So, what are you proposing, Dr. Robbins," Callie said with a smile.
"We begin a friendship, at work included. And, I would like to take you on a date. A proper date. A first date," Arizona told her with a proud smile. "I want us to start fresh, today."
"That sounds… perfect. I'd love to go on a date with you Arizona," Callie replied, placing a kiss on Arzona's forehead.
"None of that. We're starting fresh. Day one. We just met, today," Arizona said, swatting her away.
"Oh, this could be kinda fun, like a roleplay," Callie said with a wink.
"No. I mean it! We're starting at day one, numero uno. Día uno?" Arizona tried with a smile.
"Yes," Callie said. "Okay, we start over, day one. I'm down for that."
"That means no sex."
"Excuse me?"
"No sex. We just met."
"We had sex the first day we met, Arizona."
"That was like 12 years ago, and look where that got us!"
"I'm going to die, aren't I?"
"You'll be fine Callie," Arizona chastised, "We're going to do this properly. Your head will be back between my thighs before you know it."
"Fuck, you can't talk to me like that then, especially not after last night."
Both women's eyes darkened at the thought of last night. "No." They both said in unison.
"Finish your breakfast, and let's get moving," Callie told Arizona with a smile, turning to finish her breakfast.
Okay, are we happier now? Also – look how fast your reviews made me write more.
Next up: Alex's first surgery – we're removing the tumors here people. And… dun dun, Dr. Minnick – let's see what trouble she stirs up, if any at all. And let's not forget, we don't know what Dr. Bailey chose yet either.
We'll be seeing some Lexie/Mark too.
And, I've decided this is going to be pre-shooting, so that will be coming up eventually.
Also, Arizona's condo is a legit condo in Seattle. Very swanky, no clue how "close" to Seattle Grace Mercy West it is, but it was the only swanky highrise I could find, and it's important to the story that Christian is loaded.
