Raiden having given up his position of Elder God was ready to take on Quan Chi and Shang Tsung all on his own. He teleported right next to the castle Sektor told him about. While Raiden was walking in, however, someone kicked him from behind Raiden looked up to see it was Scorpion.
"Scorpion," Raiden then teleported back up and said, "What are you doing?" Raiden asked.
"You will not get in my way Raiden Quan Chi will die by my hands, and it will be slow and agonizing. You have no idea what he did to me," Scorpion said.
"I do I know exactly what happened, being an Elder God has given my knowledge I have never had before," Raiden said.
"My wife, my son, you knew, and you did nothing to help me," Scorpion shouted.
"I couldn't, being an Elder God also restricts my ability to do anything, a position I have had to give up I am sorry Scorpion," Raiden said.
"Your apologies are worthless I will only be satisfied once Quan Chi dies by my hands," Scorpion said.
"You can kill Quan Chi, but you need to let me take them out you don't stand a chance against both Quan Chi and Shang Tsung are fighting together," Raiden said.
"Quan Chi took everything from me now it is time for me to take his life. Stay out of my way Raiden for your good," Scorpion said.
Scorpion tried to run away, but Raiden shocked him to stop him and said, "I'm sorry Scorpion, but I can't let you do this."
Scorpion teleported behind and kicked him in the back again, but Raiden flew back up and shot a few lighting strikes at Scorpion while he used his Sword to block them. Raiden charged at Scorpion, but Scorpion blocked him and then punched Raiden. Raiden then punched Scorpion back and the two would get into a fistfight. Raiden was the superior fighter, so he overpowered Scorpion.
Scorpion teleported behind Raiden and attempted to kick him again. Raiden teleported behind Scorpion and struck him with his lightning. Scorpion went on trying to slash Raiden with his sword while teleporting but Raiden kept teleporting out of the way, and they were in a teleporting war.
Scorpion got lucky enough at one point to land a single hit in on Raiden a while it hurt Raiden was strong enough to withstand it. He fired a powerful lightning bolt at Scorpion which he was able to block, but had to keep blocking it with his sword. He teleported away but had to drop his sword so he could get away without being hit.
Scorpion drop-kicked Raiden while teleporting back up, but Raiden got back up and shocked Scorpion with another lightning strike which Scorpion teleported away. Raiden flew back up in the air to look for Scorpion. He spotted him and charged back to him picking him up Raiden would beat him down until Scorpion was lying unconscious on the floor.
"You didn't give me a choice Scorpion," Raiden said.
Raiden had defeated Scorpion he was making a bad decision, but Raiden felt bad for his situation he hoped he could someday see reason.
Raiden started walking to the castle, he was confused the place was empty, nobody was even guarding it he, knew then that one of them will. When he got inside the castle it was even worse the place looked like a battleground dead bodies all over the place, and it looked like Shang Tsung's work. It wasn't a battleground, it was a massacre he knew what Shang Tsung was capable of, somehow this still shocked him. And he still had no idea what dastardly plan the two had in store, but he knew it couldn't be good.
Raiden for one of the few times of his life was scared for the fact he wouldn't be able to stop Quan Chi and Shang Tsung despite his powers. He kept walking never encountering anyone of anything until he got to the throne room there was no turning back now. Raiden kicked down the door to see Quan Chi and Shang Tsung.
"It looks like we have company," Shang Tsung said.
"Sorcerers what kind of dastardly plot do you have in store, you two will go down," Raiden said.
"Don't worry about him, he is an Elder God, they are all toothless, he will not do anything he is bluffing," Quan Chi said.
"We will see about that," Raiden said. After which he used his powers to shock Quan Chi surprising him.
"I guess he was serious after all how did you get the elder gods to let you help?" Quan Chi asked.
"Unfortunately for you, I am no longer an Elder God," Raiden responded.
"The soulnado needs more time can you stall him," Shang Tsung whispered into Quan Chi's ear.
"I can handle this," Quan Chi said. After which he started casting a spell the raised a revenant it didn't look like a body, it was some sort of empty husk.
"What is this?" as Raiden was saying that the revenant summoned a massive set of vines and used them to pin Raiden down.
"What did you do, you monster?" Raiden said to Quan Chi.
"That girl was a lot more powerful than I had anticipated, but you took away the body before I could use it," Quan Chi said.
Raiden knew he had no choice but to fight, so he used his powers to break free of the vines and shocked the empty revenant. He then flew towards it and then held it in his hands punching the revenant over and over again while his hands were electrified. It, however, broke free and summoned a plant monster to fight Raiden, which he would quickly destroy after a few electricity blasts.
The revenant, however, was summoning more giant plant monsters which Raiden has to destroy as well. After destroying about a dozen of these plant monsters he realized that Quan Chi was just trying to keep him distracted. And that if Quan Chi was no longer controlling this thing it would be a threat.
So when Quan Chi least expected in he teleported behind him and knocked Quan Chi in the head knocking him out cold. This caused the revenant to stop moving as well as all the plant monsters. Raiden was able to shock the revenant down destroying it by that time Quan Chi had already gotten up.
"Shang Tsung is the Soulnado ready?" Quan Chi asked.
"No, we need more time," Shang Tsung responded.
"Soulnado, this can't be," Raiden said after realizing what they were going to do. Raiden desperate to stop this before it is too late. He threatened Quan Chi and Shang Tsung with "stop this nefarious plan at once, or you will feel my wrath."
"We are more powerful than you can think Raiden if you won't be stalled, then we will need to take you on ourselves," Shang Tsung said.
"You don't want to push me, sorcerers I am the god of thunder protector of Earthrealm and fighter of evil," Raiden shouted.
Quan Chi summoned a bunch of skeletons from the ground and sent them after Raiden. Raiden dispatched them with his lightning powers, but Shang Tsung used this distraction to hit Raiden with a soul skull.
"It's two against one Raiden, even with your power you don't stand a chance," Shang Tsung said.
"We will see about that," Raiden responded.
The three then started the massive battle with Quan Chi runs up to Raiden and getting into a fistfight with him. Shang Tsung also runs up to Raiden and attempts to punch him down, but Raiden teleports away from them and shoots them with lightning. Shang Tsung recovers though, and hits Raiden with one of his energy projectiles. Raiden kept shooting, lighting at the two which they started dodging out of the way and then firing back.
Raiden teleported behind Shang Tsung and kicked him in the back, but Quan Chi got surprised and teleported to Raiden and punched him in the face. The two got into another fistfight with Raiden overpowering Quan Chi. Shang Tsung however used the distraction to hit Raiden with his fireball knocking him back and enabling Quan Chi to kick him to the ground.
Raiden got back up and started shocking Quan Chi and Shang Tsung again. This cycle would continue to repeat itself with Quan Chi and Shang Tsung overpowering Raiden's attacks due to their strength in numbers. Raiden would escape, but come in again weaker and weaker. Raiden was overpowered running out of energy completely and no longer able to continue he collapsed on the ground.
Quan Chi and Shang Tsung had seemingly gotten rid of all their obstacles. And they were ready to begin their plan to take all the souls inside the boiling isles. As well as betray each other when the time suited them.
"How pathetic even the thunder god was unable to do anything to stop us," Shang Tsung said.
"It is time Shang Tsung we will begin the soulando nothing can stop us now," Quan Chi said. After which the two starts laughing manically they had beaten Raiden and now thought they were truly unstoppable.
At the Owl House, all the heroes were still recovering from the massive beating they had taken from Sektor's army as well as dealing with Sonya's death.
"We need to do something about this we can't just sit around here and hope Raiden will be able to handle it," Liu Kang said.
"None of us were able to defeat Sektor's army what are we going to do against Quan Chi and Shang Tsung," Kitana said.
"It doesn't matter, I am going to help Raiden with this I have recovered enough to go out there," Liu Kang said.
"You can't go alone, there are tons of dangerous stuff out there, and you still aren't fully recovered," Eda said.
"Then I will go with him, I know these places better than he does, and I have also recovered enough, and I have a score to settle," Luz said while looking at Willow's body.
"Well then let's get going," Liu Kang said. They started running out of the building, but Amity ran behind them and started shouting out, "wait Luz."
"What's wrong Amity?" Luz asked.
"In case you don't come back there is something I need to say," Amity said before trying to spit out for a few seconds before finally saying, "I love you."
