"Amity, I didn't know," Luz said
"You are so clueless," Amity responded.
"I don't know what to say, Liu Kang, we need to get going now," Luz said.
Both she and Liu Kang ran off to the Emperor's Castle. Amity sat there disappointed thinking that Luz was rejecting her with this and then slowly walking back to the Owl House. Kitana had seen everything that had happened and when Amity came back in she said, "nice job girl." Luz had been processing what just happened, she had no idea what to think or if she even felt the same way and wanted to ignore this.
"This is the place," Luz said after the two arrive at the Emperor's Castle.
"Lord Raiden," Liu Kang said after seeing Raiden coming out of the castle towards them.
"Hello Liu Kang," Raiden said.
"Are you okay?" Liu Kang asked.
"Yeah I am fine Quan Chi and Shang Tsung have been taken care of let's head back home," Raiden responded.
"Wait, I thought the portal to return home was in the Emperor's Castle shouldn't we head back in there," Luz said.
"It's not needed I have a different way of getting back," Raiden said.
"Are you okay Lord Raiden you are acting weird?" Liu Kang asked.
"I am fine Liu Kang," Raiden said.
"I'm going to check in the castle anyway to make sure everything is okay," Liu Kang said.
"You can't Liu Kang," Raiden responded.
"Why not, what is wrong with you Lord Raiden," Liu Kang said.
"Uh," Raiden said, struggling to think of what to say. Before giving and shocking Liu Kang with his lighting powers. Luz shot a fire spell at Raiden to stop him giving Liu Kang enough time to escape.
"What is going on Liu Kang?" Luz asked.
"He's under Quan Chi's spell I should have known," Liu Kang said.
"You will never enter that castle Liu Kang soon this realm will be mine," Quan Chi said through Raiden.
Raiden then started firing more electricity at Liu Kang which he dodged out of the way and jump kicked him. Raiden and Liu Kang started fighting hand-to-hand which Raiden quickly overpowered him at. Luz was grabbing out some glyphs to start firing at Raiden, but before she could Liu Kang got knocked back and slammed into her.
"Ow," Luz said out loud.
"Man that must have hurt sorry," Liu Kang said as both of them got back up.
"How are we going to be this guy?" Luz asked.
"Lord Raiden is under Quan Chi's mind control spell which he controls through his mind," Liu Kang responded.
"And that means?" Luz asked.
"We need to hit him hard enough in the end that he will be knocked out cold disabling Quan Chi's spell," Liu Kang responded. After which he thought of an idea and told Luz, "I have an idea."
Luz used her Light glyphs to blind Raiden making him flail around trying to escape. Liu Kang got through the lights by meditating enough that he was able to pinpoint Raiden's location. He jumped up in the air and kicked Raiden in the head as hard as he could without killing him causing Raiden to pass out. Liu Kang and Luz waited for a few minutes for Raiden to get back up which he did in time.
"Lord Raiden are you okay," Liu Kang asked.
"My head hurts," Raiden said.
"I had to hit you in the head, you were under one of Quan Chi's spells," Liu Kang said.
"Quan Chi, Quan Chi, oh no I need to stop them," Raiden said as he tried to get back up but stumbled due to his bad injuries.
"You too weak to continue," Luz said.
"Raiden what is going on, what is Quan Chi and Shang Tsung trying to do?" Liu Kang asked.
"Quan Chi and Shang Tsung are planning to summon a powerful soulnado. It will suck up all the souls in this realm until there is nothing left," Raiden said.
"We need to stop them," Luz said.
"You don't stand a chance I wasn't able to beat them," Raiden said.
"We have a weapon that you didn't when you were taking them on, teamwork," Luz said. But before Raiden could respond Noob Saibot teleported near them.
"We have been discovered we need to get out of here," Raiden said.
"No, we can't give up I will keep going no matter what," Luz said.
"I will as well leave Raiden to go get some help," Liu Kang said.
"Fine," Raiden said reluctantly leaving afterwards.
"It looks like the two Earthrealmers have decided to show up," Noob said.
"You were once one of us Bi-Han," Liu Kang said.
"Those days are over I know serve Quan Chi and soon this realm will be consumed," Noob said.
Noob Saibot teleported next to Liu Kang, right away and kicked him. Luz shot a few of her fire glyphs at him, but Noob blocked them with his scythe and then attempted to slash her which Luz quickly dodged out of the way of. Liu Kang got back up and jump kicks Noob to the ground. Liu Kang attempted to stomp Noob, but he teleported back up and swept his legs, knocking Liu Kang to the ground. Noob tried to stab Liu Kang with his scythe, but Luz shot him with an ice wall knocking him back.
"Thanks, kid," Liu Kang said.
"We work much better as a team than by ourselves," Luz said.
"If we keep working together, I could be able to defeat Quan Chi and Shang Tsung and save this realm," Liu Kang said.
"Let's do this," Luz said.
Luz and Liu Kang started fighting Noob Saibot both attacking him simultaneously. Liu Kang would use his superior fighting skills to beat Noob in hand-to-hand combat. While Luz would use her glyphs to strike Noob from a distance. This would prove overwhelming for Noob, and he was dispatched and knocked out.
"Your right this goes much better when we are working as a team," Liu Kang said.
"The power of teamwork is strong," Luz said.
"We need to hurray Quan Chi and Shang Tsung won't stop themselves," Liu Kang said.
Liu Kang and Luz ran into the Emperor's castle and up to the throne room as fast as they could. But while they were heading there they ended stopping in the basement and seeing the portal back to Earthrealm.
"They rebuilt it," Luz said.
"So this thing goes back to Earthrealm," Liu Kang said.
"Yeah, it does," Luz said.
"You thinking of abandoning this place and letting Quan Chi and Shang Tsung consume this place," Liu Kang said.
"Not even once," Luz responded.
"Good," Liu Kang said.
They kept running to the throne room where they believed that the two must have been hiding out. They did get there, but by then it was almost too late.
"Macfusa la she me ca so l ca me shae la mas o ca," Quan Chi and Shang Tsung were both chanting at the same time.
"We need to hurry the spell is almost complete," Liu Kang said. Liu Kang then kicked down the door and Quan Chi and Shang Tsung spotted them right away.
"The spell is not done yet Kano take care of them," Shang Tsung said.
"As you command Shang Tsung," Kano said.
Kano then got out his knives and started trying to slash Liu Kang and Luz. They were both able to dodge out of the way and Liu Kang started jump kicking Kano. Liu Kang, however, messed up his timing and Kano was able to slash Liu Kang cutting his leg badly. He then went to take down Luz, but she used her fire glyph to destroy his knife and then started running around the throne room.
She put up a barrage of ice walls to block Kano and restrained him with the plant glyphs that she had placed. Luz then grabbed more fire glyphs and starting shooting them and Kano weakens him. But he was able to use his laser eye to break out of the vines and burn Luz's arm enough to temporarily stop her from using her glyphs well.
Liu Kang had seen the trouble she was in, so he got through his bad cut and jumped towards Kano punching him in the face. Liu Kang lit his hands on fire and attempted to uppercut Kano. Kano reacted in time, though, and blocked the uppercut and hit Kano in the stomach. While this was happening though Luz used her ice glyphs to heal her burnt hand and go back into the actions restraining Kano with her vines.
The vines allowed Liu Kang to rush in and started rapidly punching Kano over and over again. Kano, however, would no give up and used his laser eye to attempt to burn Liu Kang, but he saw it coming and ducked under him. Liu Kang then uppercut Kano knocking him to the ground and unconscious.
However, this was all in vain the time that Liu Kang and Luz took to take down Kano was too long. Shang Tsung and Quan Chi had completed the spell and summoned a massive soulnado. The soulnado was green kept getting bigger and bigger. Due to being summoned to the emperor's castle it was also gradually tearing the place apart.
"It is over Liu Kang this realm's fate is sealed," Shang Tsung said. After which Shang Tsung blasted a powerful soul spell that launched both Luz and Liu Kang out of the building through a window and onto the entrance. Liu Kang suffered major injuries, but Luz was able to protect herself just in time, though got some injuries from being launched through a Window. Shang Tsung and Quan Chi then teleported outside to the entrance where Liu Kang and Luz had just been knocked to.
"It is over Liu Kang and Luz Noceda," Quan Chi said.
"We won't give up no matter what," Luz said as she was getting back up to continue fighting despite everything.
Luz attempted to hit Quan Chi and Shang Tsung with her glyphs, but they easily shrugged it off without effort. They both kept beating Luz down without Liu Kang's help she didn't stand a chance against the two sorcerers. Liu Kang, however, had noticed this and despite his bad injuries he got back and was ready to continue fighting. Liu Kang was struggling to get back up and continue fighting through. He gained enough footing to blast Quan Chi and Shang Tsung knocking them down.
"I need to do something about your injuries," Luz said.
"What can you do," Liu Kang responded.
Luz was lost she didn't know what to do, but she had to think of a way around this. She concentrated and the boiling isles spoke to her giving her the shape she needed to draw for the healing glyph. This was perfect she drew it and used it to heal Liu Kang's injuries putting him back into perfect fighting shape. At this point, both Quan Chi and Shang Tsung had gotten back up.
"How has Liu Kang been healed?" Quan Chi wondered.
"It does not matter you don't stand a chance soon this soulnado will consume the entire realm and I, we will rule over this realm," Shang Tsung said.
"We can still stop you," Liu Kang said. Right after he jumped in the air and kicked Shang Tsung in the face and the two started fighting in hand-to-hand combat. Quan Chi summoned an army of skeletons to go after Luz, which she used her plant glyphs to destroy quickly.
Liu Kang would fight Shang Tsung for a bit while Luz was taking on Quan Chi. But Luz was hopelessly outmatched by Quan Chi despite her powers and Liu Kang and Shang Tsung were stalemating. They had both taken the lessons that they had learned through working together that teamwork was a powerful weapon. They had both come to this realization at around the same time, so both backed up and regrouped.
"How are we going to handle these two?" Luz asked.
"I have a plan," Liu Kang said.
Liu Kang first started running around in circles Quan Chi and Shang Tsung attempted to use their magic to knock Liu Kang down. Both were also working badly together each trying to hit Liu Kang on their own and sometimes hitting each other's attacks because of that. It was all a distraction, however, and Luz was using this to plant some plant glyphs in the exact right position.
When the time was exactly right Luz used the plant glyphs trapping both Quan Chi and Shang Tsung inside. They knew however that they could just use their magic to break free, so Luz reinforces the plants with her healing glyph. Quan Chi and Shang Tsung could not break out so Liu Kang started beating them up.
Their plan, however, had on wrinkle that they did not expect. The soulnado was continuing to rage not far away and destroyed the paper making the glyphs. It had been worse than they had known due to Shang Tsung's soul powers the soulando was gradually powering him up. He used his new powers to easily defeat Luz and Liu Kang with a giant blast.
"This power I have never felt it before," Shang Tsung said. Quan Chi had seen this and knew that Shang Tsung had been playing him this entire time and was going to betray him. So he teleported out of there as quickly as he could and went back to the Netherrealm through the portal.
"Do you need a helping hand," Raiden said. Liu Kang then looked up to see everyone Raiden had gone back and grabbed every single person from the Owl House and brought them here to fight the battle. Kitana, Jax, The Blights, Lilith, Gus even Hooty and a restored Cyrax had come to help.
"Strength in teamwork will stop your power anytime Shang Tsung especially with your buddy gone," Luz said.
"Oh no," Shang Tsung said. All the heroes started charging at Shang Tsung at the same time and despite his power, he was easily overpowered and taken down with little issue. Shang Tsung was down, lying on the ground, but he thought he had still won, he said, "you may have beaten me, but this realm is still doomed." Shang Tsung then teleported away and went back to Outworld through the portal.
"How do we stop the portal?" Amity shouted as the Soulnado was getting increasingly louder.
"We can't, the only way to stop it is for it to absorb a corrupted soul directly. But if we wait too long nothing will be able to stop it," Raiden shouted.
"I know one corrupted soul, we could use," Liu Kang said while looking over at Noob Saibot.
"That will do hurray," Raiden said.
"We can't just kill him we're the heroes," Luz shouted.
"Sometimes tough decisions need to be made to protect people," Raiden said.
"I can't do this though," Luz said.
"You may not be willing to do it, but I will it's time for some payback Quan Chi," Scorpion who had woken back up said. He then jumped far away from Noob and used his chain shouting, "Get over here" and flung Noob Saibot into the soulnado. Scorpion then teleported away and left through the portal to Earthrealm.
"The thing is going to blow," Raiden said. Having no time left, he teleported everyone far away from the castle before the soulnado exploded. Everyone looked on in the distance as the soulnado exploded, saving the realm from total destruction.
"It's over," Liu Kang said.
