Those who don't speak his name forget him. The stronger the mind, the longer he stays in your memories, but even the strongest one forgets him if it's not said.
Was that why Raynare didn't forget him? Was her mind so strong that she searched for weeks and still remembered him? Azazel forgot him, but it wasn't his fault.
"What are you thinking about, Assassin?" The voice of Yuuma Amano broke through his thoughts and caused him to smile. "I can't believe he is gone already!" The girl hissed while Xerel huffed out in a joking manner.
"I am not leaving until you gave me the order to." Why did this make her feel good? Assassin works with the time. He has a tight schedule, so he waits for her order to start the timer.
Then why did it make her feel good when he said that!?
"You can go. I am meeting Issei now." She spoke out with a calm voice, not showing her thoughts. She wanted to say more, to tell him that he should stay and accompany them. But Kokabiel has his spies.
He always knows. Xerel was in danger when Kokabiel knew of his existence.
Technically, he knew. He just forgot. Foolish, not even caring about the name of someone.
There she was. Closing her eyes one last time and taking a deep breath. "Did you wait long Issei?"
"Enjoy Issei, enjoy your first and last girlfriend." Xerel whispered as he stood on a lamp above the street, following his partner and her victim.
Why was he doing this? When did he fall this low. Watching the two enter a Cafe made his heart race, so why was he tolerating this.
In no way he could defeat Kokabiel. He couldn't even touch the Cadre. So why isn't Azazel doing anything? He had enough evidence to grant Kokabiel a swift execution.
Right...
He was the one who collected the information. No one knows him and no one remembered him.
How could a human be so pathetic, awkward and unfunny.
Issei was the embodiment of everything Raynare hated.
For someone as beautiful as her, he was ugly. He didn't deserve to breathe the same air as her, so how dare he thinks he could stand next to her.
The small moments she had to smile into his face when their hands brushed each other. Disgusting.
He was a pervert. Using every chance he could get for a small peek at her beasts. Didn't this boy know that they weren't his to look at?
And a human.
Raynare wasn't even trying to talk herself out. She knew the situation she was in was needed for Kokabiels downfall.
But a human. Of all creatures the weakest. For supernatural creatures they were especially disgusting.
Every human had an aura. May it be a good aura, a bad one or a fouly one. Each aura was unique. But humans can't control the aura they show.
This boy in front of her was surrounded by lust, desire and sexual frustration. No wonder that even the supernatural beings in his school didn't stay long around him.
That's what Xerel said at least...
Xerel...
What was he thinking of her?
Was he disgusted of her for killing Issei like that? As his girlfriend?
"Yuuma? I got you this." Issei spoke up as he turned a bit red and handed her a scrunchy.
"Prince charming got her a scrunchy." Xerel spoke while sitting on a branch and eating the tail of a Youkai. "Raynare's hair is perfect you liitle soul stain." Assassin spoke out angered with a hateful look towards Issei.
And the acting of Lancer just made things worse for him.
Is she enjoying the date? It's her first date and she is laughing, showing affection and making his pale white face turn red and warm.
Yes, this was love. A rare emotion for him, yet a strong one. Greed, lust and pride mixed with the eyes. He would kill everyone for her.
This crazy feeling in his mind...
A year. That's how long he has had his eyes on her. And not a single time he could tell if she shared those feelings.
She toys with her prey. Like a nympho seducing these men and then killing them or let him kill them.
He either is just a special toy for her or...
Xerel couldn't think of it. Raynare is not even in the slightest the woman to love someone.
A queen of her own class. An empress of beauty. No one could ever touch her. She was above everyone.
Azazel was smiling.
The first month with his two servants were pure hell. Xerel was trying to get himself killed so that Azazel would search for a stronger Lancer.
Raynare was saving him from everthing. Every pain he should receive was blocked by her.
The best thing was that he didn't have to intervene because their team dynamic grew under these standards to one of the best he has ever seen.
The Cadre's servants was a set full of flaws. Besides the pieces being able to store magic, to corrupt it and to turn the servant into a beast of destruction for a short amount of time, he also knew what they felt.
Xerel's fear of someday causing the death of someone special and Raynare's love for his Assassin.
He had to make sure to talk with his underlings one day.
Despite all their work, and barely having any free time they were loyal. He was proud.
"What were you saying Penemue?" The purple haired woman shook her head in annoyance and took a picture of Azazel desk.
"I am still impressed with, the fact that you took Raynare as your Lancer. And your Assassin. You never mentioned him." She spoke as he took the picture and put it onto his desk.
He leaned back and smiled proudly. "Yes, such a good assassin. I can't belive that the devils never made use of him. Maybe they did but ended up dead." He explained while drinking a brownish liquid out of a glass. "And Raynare showed potential. A daughter of a Cadre. You have seen the skill of Baraqiel's daughter. Raynare just never had the chance to grow next to her father."
Penemue just nodded in agreement and took a sip of her drink. "And she has no problems betraying Kokabiel. He is her father afterall."
"She said it herself. Kokabiel is not her father. He is a monster that needs to be stopped. Another war would be fatal for our race." Azazel replied while Penemue agreed. "I just hope that killing this boy might help us against Kokabiel."
There she was.
How could someone call a woman as beautiful as an angel when they never seen her?
Four beautiful black feathered wings standing majestically out of her back. Completely extended in a span of four meters.
Her pure silky black hair dancing in the chilling wind of the night.
These beautiful, mesmerizing purple eyes that could melt away every men's heart while gazing directly into your soul.
This perfect body that made his heart beat like a drum on a concert. As if she was made for him. These perfect breasts that defied gravity and this butt that made him hungry for her soul.
"Will you die for me, Issei?"
This mature female voice that made his ears perk up when ever he heard it.
Watching her perfect, milk white skin reflect the moonlifht in a cloudless night was the best thing for him to ever witness, yet he had to go.
"Would you die for me, Issei?" Raynare asked again as he pressed her chest on his back.
The boy froze in place. There she was.
Sitting on the edge of a well, legs crossed in the most revealing clothes he has seen outside of porn. "Raynare. From here on I take over." Who was that?
Why was he calling her Raynare?
Issei's head was frozen. He was completely astonished by the beauty in front of him. But this fear that filled his body made him want to run.
"Assassin. You are late." Raynare spoke our in a high, royal tone while laughing a bit and looking at the boy who walked towards Issei.
"That was solely your fault Lancer." He spoke while Issei couldn't find the source of the voice. A small touch on the back of his neck was enough for him to jump up and to turn around.
"A zombie?" Issei gulped as he saw the golden eyes and the pale white skin.
Like Raynare, Xerel's wings shot out of his back making him chuckle out a bit. "Don't worry. I don't want your disgusting soul, boy." Xerel, spoke as he grabbed a feather of his wings and brushed his finger over it.
Issei was completely shocked, seeing the feather reflecting the moon light like it was a knife. But before he could even comprehend the structure of the feather, he felt it pierce his stomach. "Let's leave before someone feels our presence." Raynare spoke out as she brushed Xerel's wings with her hand. "Assassin." She spoke out before her four wings moved like those of an majestic bird and she flew off.
"You won't remember me, but there was this girl who wanted to give you this." Xerel pulled out a sheet of paper and threw it onto Issei's wound. "If you clinge to your life like you clinge to pornography, then you will survive, Sacred Gear wielder." Issei just saw the purple haired boy walking away while cursing a man named Azazel before his four wings carried him away.
"Mission Report?" Azazel, asked as he looked at Raynare and Xerel.
The boy just sighted as he looked at Raynare and saw her being unprepared. "I stayed undetected, followed them. Made sure that Kokabiel's spies won't return and then saved the boy after Raynare was gone to make sure that even the last spy was gone. After hiding my presence I saw devils arriving through a seal." Xerel explained as Azazel nodded.
"Sitri?" He asked while Raynare shrugged her shoulders and looked at her partner.
"Deffinetly Rias of house Gremory. She also saw the feather. She knows it was us." He spoke while Azazel smiled and stood up while walking to his shelve.
He took two figures and sat back down. "Phase two can start now. I want you two to become students of the Kuoh academy. I know, school. But I want you to stay close to the devils. It's up to you how you do it, but be careful." Azazel explained while pushing the two new figures over to the two servants.
"Master?" Raynare asked while looking at one figure standing in a chariot while the other shot an arrow from a bow. "I don't think I can follow."
"Xerel is a master when it comes to seeing potential and I admire potential. Find me an Archer and a Rider. I will trust your decisions." Azazel spoke out while the two grabbed each a figure and looked at each other. "And wait a week until Issei will forget Xerel. Raynare, take on the form of Amano Yuuma again. I will write you in as my daughter in the second grade of the school. Xerel will be a bit old for your class."
"I can just stay invisible. It's not power draining. No one will detect me." Assassin spoke out with a smile.
Raynare just grunted in annoyance while looking at Xerel. "Why does he get the ability to turn invisible? What's my ability? It better be not getting bored in school." She remarked sarcastically while Azazel laughed.
"That's a good idea Xerel. Just never reveal your name. Truly fascinating that the only way you stay alive in the minds of humans and other beings are pictures and online blogs." The Ruler of the set spoke while Xerel smiled proudly.
The Assassin and the Lancer were about the stand up when Azazel spoke up again. "Xerel. Your hunger for souls. Is it possible that your captured souls can talk to us or to you?"
"Sorry to disappoint master, but they are dead souls the moment they are connected to me. Like I said before, I am not a normal grim reaper." Xerel explained with a slight bow.
"And when eating them you don't absorb their memories..." Azazel scratched his beard for a second before looking up at the Assassin. "What about handing these souls over to a grim reaper?" He asked while Xerel's face fell into a monotonous demeanor.
"If that would be the case then I would still have been an underling of my father. To gain the souls I ate or am connected to, a grim reaper hast to devour my soul." He explained while Raynare looked up in surprise and Azazel nodded in understanding.
"Then we have to stick to our current plan."
