"Are you ready gaki?" Ay asked the young blond. They were at his personal training grounds only reserved for the Raikage. He had his arms crossed.
"You bet I am Ay! Whatever you bring I can handle it." Naruto stated with confidence. A smirk could be seen on his face.
"Heh cheeky brat, still ten years too early to take me head on using my full power." Ay knew that was far from the truth. Over the last few months, he watched the young man grow even stronger. If Naruto truly went all out. Ay would lose in the end pretty handily.
Encasing himself in blue lightning armour, Ay watched the young blond also shroud himself in lightning. In the six months of training his lightning affinity in Kumo. Naruto around two months ago finally got good enough that he could do the same lightning cloak as Ay and Kushina. However, like Kushina, the color of Naruto's lightning was different from the normal blue.
"Orange lightning, it still amazes me every time I see it. I didn't even know it was possible to produce such a color. Then again you are a Uzumaki so I really shouldn't be surprised." Ay remembers the reaction he had when he saw Kushina pull out red lightning in the middle of their spar several years ago. He stayed up for hours replaying that specific moment trying to make some sort of sense of it. Obviously he never taught either Uzumakis how to produce his lightning armour. They just figured it out on their own by watching him. It kinda irked him how they are able to use one of his signature abilities against him. At the same time, it gave him a good partner to spar against. He needed something to help him stay in shape. It also helped that both Uzumakis gave their word to not share the secrets of the lightning cloak to anybody except their future offsprings. When you had the word of an Uzumaki. There was no bullshit about it, you had their word and they will keep it.
"Should you really be talking considering your right hand man can use black lightning? I mean come on, do you know how cool it looks? Plus your whole village specializes in the lightning element. Yeah me being able to use orange lightning is sweet and all. But it still has nothing on black or red lightning in my opinion. Now enough talk, let's fight!"
Naruto disappeared in a burst of lightning speed. Close to knocking Ay's head off his shoulders.
Ay smirked. "Too easy." He countered the punch and began his intense battle against the young Uzumaki.
On the sidelines were several people. Team Samui, Yugito, Mabui, Kushina and Bee.
"Well those are finally at it." Yugito commented
"Naruto and bro really are giving it a go!" Bee rapped.
"Come on Bee! You can do better than that!" Kushina scolded him.
"Kami I can't believe Naruto is crazy enough to take on Raikage-sama. Isn't he afraid of being destroyed? Oh I can only imagine what would happen if Raikage-sama power bombed him and-" Omoi was cut off by his teammate.
"Omoi! Shut the hell up! You keep on rambling and I'll shove my foot up your ass!" Karui yelled.
Omoi flinched. "Sheesh no need to be so violent Karui. Even you have to admit that Naruto is crazy for doing this. I thought he was joking when he invited us to come watch them fight."
Karui knew Omoi had a point. Taking on the Raikage head on is considered suicide to nearly every Kumo shinobi except Bee, Darui and possibly Yugito. They would all most likely lose but it wouldn't be seen as suicide since they stand the best chance against the Raikage.
"That guy has been crazy ever since we first met him six months ago. At this point I'm not even surprised. I'm more surprised that we've actually managed to stay friends with his crazy ass." Karui replied to her teammate.
Naruto and Kushina tend to stay out of the public eye to avoid any potential spies Konoha may have in Kumo from recognizing Naruto. If they are in public then they use a henge to alter their features slightly to throw off any of the potential spies. So far they haven't had one incident.
Tomorrow is the day they leave Kumo to start traveling on the road again. Ten months left until Naruto has to report back to Konoha.
"Cool." Is all that needed to be said by Samui. She was focused on the high-level fight.
"Raikage-sama seems to always enjoy himself when fighting Naruto-san." Mabui spoke.
"Hmm I wonder how he'll cope once we are gone? Eh I'm sure Ay will be fine." Kushina shrugged.
Suddenly a small cloud of smoke appeared right next to the Uzumaki redhead. Looking down, she's surprised to see it's Fukasaku.
"It's been awhile Kushina-girl." The elder toad greeted her with a smile.
"Fukasaku-sama!" Kushina exclaimed in surprise. "I wasn't expecting to see you. What brings you here?"
The other 6 were surprised to see a toad summon appear out of nowhere.
"Well I've come to inform you and Naruto-boy that the toads and jaguars have finally reached an agreement between Naruto-boy's and your senjutsu training. You will train with each summoning clan for four months each. You're already a true sage of the jaguars. So I doubt you will learn much in their lands. But I can guarantee you'll learn a lot in Mt Myōboku." Fukasaku told Kushina.
Said redhead was excited by his words. Four months ago she introduced her summons to Naruto by summoning her partner Miya. Miya is a black jaguar and a boss summon. It was funny seeing her blond lover freak out when he saw Miya was a bit bigger than Gamabunta.
Kushina offered Naruto the option of signing the jaguars summoning contract. At first the blond was confused since he already had a contract with the toads. But Kushina informed him that he was allowed to have more than one summon.
Still he summoned Gamakichi who in turn returned to Mt Myōboku to bring Fukasaku to answer Naruto's question. Fukasaku told the blond that it was fine for him to sign with the jaguars. But Kushina had to sign with the toads to make it fair. Which she immediately agreed to. Afterwards Fukusaku informed Naruto that they wanted to start his senjutsu training soon so that he could become the next toad sage. Once learning about Jiraiya's actions and plans towards Naruto. The toads agreed to remove Jiraiya as the toad sage once Naruto came to Mt Myōboku to master senjutsu. They already forced Jiraiya to hand over the toad summoning scroll. This is how Kushina was able to make a contract with them.
Miya then spoke up about how they also wanted to start training Naruto soon because he is the partner of their sage. The jaguars are very loyal to Kushina since she's their first ever summoner and sage. Making them loyal to Naruto by default.
So it had been decided that the two summons would meet another day to discuss who gets who first. Naruto only has a limited amount of time to get in all the training he can get after all.
Kushina became acquainted with the jaguars during the time she was traveling with Tsunade and Shizune. She came across an injured baby jaguar looking for some herbs for Tsunade. She instantly healed, thankfully her limited knowledge of medical ninjutsu at the time was enough to heal the baby jaguar. Once it was better, the jaguar spoke to Kushina for the first time. Taking her by surprise. That baby jaguar ended up being Miya. Becoming fast friends, Miya introduced Kushina to her mother, Naka, who at the time was the leader of their summoning clan. Naka thanked Kushina for saving her daughter. Then offered Kushina the chance to become their first summoner.
"I gotta say, you guys have good timing since me and Naruto were leaving kumo tomorrow. This is perfect, so I'm assuming we are going with you first if you're here telling me this." Kushina said.
Fukasaku nodded. "Yep you youngins are coming to Mt Myōboku first. After you will be heading to Jaga no Kuni. I take it you Naruto-boy has mastered the nine-tails?"
"Yeah he did, the last three months have been good to both me and him. I almost feel bad for any poor bastard who tries us."
Ay was sent flying into a huge boulder courtesy of Naruto's kick to his chest. Show far they've been neck and neck when using their lightning armour. Ay's experience is showing in certain instances. He's still slightly faster than Naruto if it's strictly kept between their lightning armours. However because of the blond's superior stamina. He can hold out longer than Ay could.
Ay dashed towards Naruto as the two collided in a flurry of fast attacks.
"Such mastery over the lightning element." Fukasaku commented.
"Yeah and Konoha said my husband had no talent." Kushina stated proudly.
Karui snapped her neck in her fellow redhead's direction. "WAIT! You guys are married? Since when?!" She demanded to know.
"Well I guess I should say since a few months ago. Then again we aren't legally married yet. However we are married in every other sense. Honestly a piece of paper means nothing. Naruto is my husband with or without a document that says so. But I'm pretty sure we will have a wedding one day. So don't worry you'll all be invited." Kushina responded with a smile.
"Cool I will be there." Samui said.
"Same here." Yugito added. Kushina and Naruto are good friends of hers as well. Being fellow jinchuuriki and all.
"Great!" Kushina exclaimed happily. "By the way." Turning to look back at the elder toad. "Do you know if Konoha knows that Naruto is no longer with Jiraiya?"
"No I do not, what I do know is that Jiraiya has begged us at least five times over the year to reverse summon Naruto or at least tell him where he's at. I refused him every time. He knows that Naruto found out about his true intentions. But apparently because he knows Naruto is a forgiving person who gives second chances. He believes that he will be able to make things right. I think that's just an excuse to avoid going back to tell Tsunade what happened. Sooner or later he's going to have to face her." Fukasaku replied.
Kushina scoffed. "He thinks he knows my husband so well that some half-assed apology will allow him to continue his attempts to manipulate Naruto. Too bad for him that's not going to happen. My Naruto may give out second chances. But he doesn't give them to just anybody. Plus he blew his one and only chance when he chose to abandon Naruto. Oh I can't wait to see that perverted bastard. He will know pain."
Next Day, Mt Myōboku
The two Uzumakis were now in the land of toads. Before they left Kumo, they made sure to give their friends a way of contacting them in case they run into some trouble with the Akatsuki in the near future.
Shima welcomed them with open arms, as did any other toad summon they came across. Standing in front of the Sacred Oil Fountain is Naruto, Kushina, Gamakichi and Fukasaku.
"This oil has special properties that allow you to feel the nature energy around you. It meant to help give you a sense of what nature energy feels like. You must stay perfectly still when trying to become one with nature or you will turn into a toad and become stone eventually."
Kushina already knowing the dangers of involving senjutsu said nothing. Naruto on the other hand.
"Are you serious Fukasaku-ojisan?" He seriously did not want to turn into stone.
"Do you see all of these toad stone statues around us?" Seeing the blond nod, Fukasaku continued. "Those are all the results of their attempts to become one with nature."
That did not make Naruto feel better in the slightest. But if Kushina is already a sage. He would be damned if he didn't become one too.
"Don't worry Naruto-boy, I have a way of stopping you from becoming a toad if you start to turn into one. Now you sit on the edge of the fountain in a lotus position. Don't be surprised if this takes you awhile to do. Only a small handful of people have ever become a sage. Jiraiya isn't a true sage because he hasn't perfected his sage mode in all the years he's had it. Kushina-girl as far as I know is the only living true sage alive. Minato-boy and Hashirama Senju are no longer among the living. If you become one with nature. You will be the newest true sage born into the world." Fukasaku assured the blond.
Feeling more determined, Naruto took position on the edge of the fountain.
Looking over to Kushina. "You already know how to become one with nature. Once Naruto-boy passes this step. I will take you both to another area. There is where you can start the process of gaining the toad's version of sage mode."
Kushina nodded with a smile. "You got it- oh I think Naruto is turning into a toad." She pointed out.
She was right, the blond's face started changing. Thankfully Fukasaku used his special staff to knock the nature chakra out of Naruto by smacking him in the head with said staff.
"Itai! What the hell oji-san?!" Naruto cried out.
"You were transforming into a toad. This staff of mine allows me to knock the nature energy out of you if you are in danger of becoming a toad. Now stop whining and get back to meditating." Fukasaku told him.
Naruto grumbled but did as he was told.
Much to Fukasaku's surprise, it only took Naruto three days to get the first part of the training down.
Now they were in a place with a bunch of tall sharp earth spikes.
"This is where your next training spot is." Fukasaku stated as he held up an earth tile. "Bring a slate up to the top and do some Zen meditation. If your concentration waivers or if you move even slightly, you will fall to the bottom of the ravine.
"F-From up there?" Naruto sweated a bit.
"Hmm I did something similar to this back when I was first learning senjutsu in Jaga no Kuni. This seems more difficult than what I did though." Kushina commented.
"Alright enough chit-chat, follow me on up gakis!" Fukasaku jumped up the spike.
Soon both Uzumakis found themselves on a slate trying to keep balance while meditating at the same time.
It was not going too well for Naruto as he kept on falling off his slate. Kushina slipped up once and hasn't moved since. Deep into her meditation.
After some advice from Fukasaku, Naruto finally got the hang of it and stayed completely still on his slate while meditating.
Days went by as the two stayed in their meditative states. Even when the night came and even rain. Neither one moved a single time. It was day time again when Fukasaku noticed a change.
'It's looking good, they're both rapidly amassing nature energy.' He smiled to himself watching the two.
Kushina's eyes suddenly snapped open. Revealing yellow irises with toad-like pupils. Around her eyes is purple pigmentation.
'I'm not surprised she finished first considering her experience. Naruto-boy however…' Fukasaku trailed off his thoughts.
Naruto felt a burning flame of chakra hit his core, opening his eyes halfway then closing them again. When he opened them the next time, his irises and pupils were the same as Kushina's except the color of his pigmentation is orange.
'He's finally got it. I'm impressed by how far he's gotten without using the oil. Both of them are displaying rings around their eyes. Proof of Sagehood. No toad aspects either, Naruto-boy can build up more sage chakra than when he was using the oil. Kushina-girl didn't use the oil. I'm even more surprised that she didn't seem to have any complications involving her jaguar sage mode while trying to obtain the toad version. She must've really had to focus in order to avoid a situation like that.' Fukasaku finished his thoughts.
"So how does it feel?" He asked.
"Hmm…now I kinda get what it means to be one with nature." Naruto replied with a smile.
As soon as he finished his sentence. A small orange and white bird landed on his right shoulder. Causing him to lean towards the right. Then he started flailing his arms around trying to balance himself.
The end result? Him falling straight down to the ground face first.
Kushina sighed. "He still has a lot to learn."
"Yeah but he's got plenty of time to learn with the kind of longevity you Uzumakis have. Sheesh what is he 17?" Fukasaku asked.
She nodded. "Yeah he'll be 18 in a few months."
"17 and already a sage, Minato-boy didn't become one until he was 22. Jiraiya-boy became an incomplete one in his early 30s. What age did you become a sage?"
"I was 29, so five years after Minato died. I didn't become the jaguars first summoner until I was 27." Kushina replied.
"I see, well I will say that boy is probably the most powerful 17 year old in the world." Fukasaku said before jumping down, landing next to Naruto.
"Not probably Fukasaku-sama, he is the most powerful 17 year old. Hell he could make a case for being the most powerful person. Then again it depends on just how strong the leader is this Akatsuki is. Truthfully I'm not worried about anything the enemy tosses our way. They will learn why it's not wise to fuck with an Uzumaki." Kushina jumped off her slate. Landing right on top of her sexy blond whiskered husband.
Naruto fell right on his back. "Did you have to do that?" He asked her.
"No but hey at least I landed on my favorite seat and you aren't hurt." Kushina replied. Her favorite seat is Naruto's lap which she ended up on somehow.
Looking at the straddling redhead. He couldn't help but grin. Her randomness is another reason why he loves her. "Just give me some kind of heads up next time."
"No promises." She pecked his lips. Their first kiss in days due to being in deep meditation.
Fukasaku cleared his throat. "If you two lovebirds are ready. It's time for the final stage of the training to begin. Now that you can become a sage, you need to learn how to fight like one. I will be teaching you a taijutsu style that sages perform using sage chakra. It's called Frog Kumite."
"Hai Fukasaku-sensei." Kushina and Naruto said at the same time.
From there on Fukasaku battles the two sages. Kushina caught on quickly to her own experience using sage chakra. Naruto took a while longer but he's definitely getting there. He's always had a knack for learning highly advanced techniques.
"You're saying we can fuse together oji-san?" Naruto asked Fukasaku.
The elder toad nodded. "Because you can't gather sage chakra while on the move. This will allow me to continuously gather more sage chakra so you don't run out of natural energy in the middle of a battle. Thus allowing you to stay in sage mode."
Hopping on the blond's shoulder. Fukasaku tried to merge with Naruto only to get blown off his shoulder after a few seconds.
"Uhh are you ok?" Naruto questioned.
Slowly standing up also a bit confused as to why that happened. "Yes, hmmm let's try it again." Hopping back on the blond's shoulders.
Fukasaku closed his eyes and hands to start gathering nature energy. "Sage Art: Amphibian Jutsu." He called out.
This time he was greeted by a raging Kurama. Fukasaku once again was blown off of Naruto's shoulder.
"Seems like it's not possible to merge." Fukasaku concluded.
"I believe you are being rejected by Kurama, Fukasaku-sensei." Kushina pointed out.
"Fukasaku nodded. "I figured as much."
Inside of Naruto's seal is an angry Kurama. "That pathetic toad, I refuse to work together with him. You don't need him when I'm all you need Naruto." He growled.
"Yeah...he's not up to working with you any time soon oji-san." Naruto sweat dropped.
Kushina sighed. 'Really Kurama? You couldn't just put up with it?'
'No, it probably felt disgusting for my yang half when that toad tried to fuse with Naruto. You don't need him when you have me. With you two achieving harmony with us. We can gather nature energy for you to use from inside our seals. I can certainly do it much faster than the toad can. Also you already have another way of gathering nature energy by using shadow clones.' Yin Kurama answered his partner.
Back when she was training with the jaguars. Kushina discovered that shadow clones can gather nature energy as well. Once the clone dispels, the sage chakra it gathered will be transferred over to the user. Allowing them to extend their time in sage mode.
'Really? Can the other bijuu do that too or just you?' Kushina wondered.
'We all can do it, I was just always the best at it. I was often told by my siblings the reason why I excelled in it is because of how lazy I am.' Kurama grumbled at the memories.
'You did tell me that you used to sleep all day even before you were captured. So it does make sense considering one must be completely still in order to gather nature energy.' The redhead pointed out.
'And here I thought you were on my side.' Kurama shook his head.
Kushina smiled. 'I'll always be on your side Kurama, you won't be getting rid of me again for a very long time.'
'Clearly since I still somehow found my way back to you from the Shinigami's stomach. Guess we're just meant to be tomato-face.' Kurama smirked at the end.
Clenching her fist in anger, Kushina did her best to keep her Red Hot Habanero side in check. 'I'm not a fucking tomato dattebane!' She raged internally.
Six Months Later - Jaga no Kuni
"Sage Art: Tsutenkyaku!"
"Fuck!" Naruto used the hiraishin to teleport out of the way of an incoming Kushina.
Her sage powered axe kick destroyed a good chunk of the ground, forming a huge crater. She picked up this move back from when Tsunade taught Kushina her famous strength technique. The axe kick with regular chakra alone is destructive. Adding sage chakra to it is just overkill.
As the dust cleared, Naruto appeared in an orange flash next to her. "I take it you intended to send me to the afterlife?"
Kushina grinned at her lover. "Oh come on you're over exaggerating. That would've been a love tap to you at most."
Naruto deadpanned. "This is what you call a love tap?" He gestured to the massive crater they were standing in.
"For people like us? Of course, I would much rather take what I did over a sage enhanced elemental rasengan any day." His wife replied.
Well that he had to concede to. "Fair enough."
"By the way why didn't you escape using the other teleportation jutsu I taught you. That version is faster than the hiraishin." Kushina wondered.
During their training, Kushina discovered something about her hiraishin. She assumed her improvements were just simple improvements. What she did not realize at the time is that she actually created an entire new jutsu. A space-time ninjutsu at that. See using the sealing sequence as the marker to teleport is what makes the hiraishin basically the hiraishin. Visually picturing a destination or person or locking onto a chakra signature is an entirely different method of teleportation. She figured she assumed it was still the hiraishin since it derived from said technique.
While it is faster than the hiraishin along with being more useful in certain aspects. The problem is that she cannot come up with a proper name for her newest teleportation jutsu.
Naruto shrugged. "No particular reason other than sensing a nearby marker and putting it to use."
"I see, one last round before calling it a day?"
"You know I'm always up for a fight." Naruto grinned then pulled Kushina into him. He smashed their lips together in a heated kiss.
Kushina sunk into his chest, sighing happily into their kiss. Every kiss they share always leaves her craving for more.
Watching in the distance were Miya and her younger sister Yula. Yula, like her sister, is a black jaguar whose eye color is different from Miya's. While Miya's eyes are golden, Yula's are emerald green.
"Seems like Kushina-sama isn't taking it easy on him." Yula said.
"How can she when he has enemies targeting him? Naruto does have overwhelming power, however he needs more experience in properly utilizing his power to its full extent." Miya replied.
Jaga no Kuni is essentially a tropical forest filled with swamps. It's not as famous as the big three sage regions. This is because of not having a summoner for many years. However its location is very known to the other animal clan summons. As the jaguars are more powerful than most of the other summons which include the toads, snakes and slugs.
"Though I say that, I have to admit it's astonishing he was able to learn our version of sage mode within the first two months of training here. He beat Kushina by four months." Miya smiled.
Naruto's jaguar sage mode gives him jaguar-like irises. Dark gray pigmentation around his eyes. Defined whisker marks with blue outlining, topping it off with elongated fangs.
Kushina's was similar except the color of her pigmentation is pink. Black outlining around her defined whiskers.
Like the toads who fight using the natural energy around them as an extension of their body to increase the range of their attacks. The jaguars can use the natural energy around them to create poison from their claws and fangs. Because the natural energy around their body serves as protection. It's possible to also coat the entire hand or foot in poison to serve as a deadly attack.
"Did I ever tell you how much I love you for introducing me to Naruto?" Yula asked.
Miya snickered. "Plenty of times, I think this is the 44th."
During the first month of Naruto being a jaguar summoner. Miya introduced him to her sister. Yula always complained for years about how it was unfair that she was the personal summon of their first summoner. Thankfully for Miya, Naruto showed up as a solution.
At first Yula wasn't sure about Naruto even if he was Kushina's lover. But it only took one full day for Yula to become loyal to Naruto. During this time, Yula wasn't a boss summon yet. She recently became one a month ago.
Naruto and Yula are practically best friends.
"You actually kept count? Actually don't answer that. I'm just happy that my summoner is overwhelmingly strong." Yula smiled.
"Yet he still manages to get his ass kicked by his wife in their spare half the time." Miya pointed out. Feeling smug about being Kushina's partner.
"Well somebody has to keep him grounded." Yula said.
Two Months Later
Finally finished with all of their senjutsu training, Naruto and Kushina are back on the road and stronger than ever. These last eight months have done wonders for them.
Kushina suggested that they spend the next two months actually enjoying it instead of focusing on heavy constant training. She will still train him to keep improving. Just not nowhere nearly as much.
Naruto agreed, plus both Kurama's said it will do them so good mentally.
Konoha - Same Time
"WHAT?!"
Shizune winced at the volume of her master's voice. Although in this situation, she really couldn't blame her.
Jiraiya, who is standing in front of Tsunade, is really hoping he can figure out a way to come out of this alive. This is the exact reason why he's been trying to avoid coming back for so long. He feared Tsunade's wrath once she learned of the situation.
"Care to repeat yourself Jiraiya?!" Tsunade demanded with narrowed honey eyes.
"Ummm...Naruto isn't with me." He repeated.
"Then where is he?"
"...I don't know...I haven't been with him in about 2 years…" Jiraiya answered nervously.
Silence. It was dead silent in the Hokage's office. The anbu stationed in the corners of the room all believed at this very moment that Konoha might lose one of its sannin today, courtesy of the Godaime Hokage herself.
Suddenly a monstrous amount of killing intent flooded the office. Oh it wasn't only Tsunade's either, Shizune intent is well mixed in also. The cold hard glares they were giving the toad sannin could kill most.
Jiraiya swears he can see two agents of death in front of him instead of Tsunade and Shizune.
That's when Tsunade's fist smashed her desk into pieces.
"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST SAY?! YOU LEFT NARUTO ON HIS OWN FOR TWO FUCKING YEARS?! ARE YOU CRAZY JIRAIYA?!" Tsunade yelled at her perverted former teammate.
Furious isn't even close enough to describe what she's feeling.
Shizune felt similar to her master.
"W-Wait! I didn't let him go! He left on his own one random night!" Jiraiya said in fear.
"Care to explain why Jiraiya-sama? I doubt Naruto-kun would leave you randomly for no reason." Shizune questioned him.
Jiraiya gulped. 'Ok maybe I can get away with not telling them exactly everything. So even if Tsunade kicks my ass, she might kill me.' He thought to himself.
"Ok it had been about a year into the trip. Naruto kept bugging me about teaching a useful ninjutsu or to watch his training more. But I told him that I wasn't satisfied with his current skills in all that I had taught him up to that point. He disagreed saying he mastered all that I showed him while acting like a brat. So I told him to shut up and do as I say. I wasn't going to hold his hand, it's not the first time I told him that either. Then he really got pissed at me. Our went from bad to worse, I left him and went to a brothel. Staying there for a few hours to cool down, I got really drunk while messing around. At some point, I made it to the area Naruto was training at then blacked out before I could say anything. I don't know how many hours I was out for. When I woke up, he was gone. No trace of him whatsoever. I looked everywhere I thought he could be. Never once found anything on him." Jiraiya explained while leaving out some details.
"Did you ask the toads to reverse summon him?" Tsunade questioned.
"Yeah...they were pretty pissed at me when I saw them. Apparently at some point soon after he left me, Naruto told Gamabunta what happened. He asked Gamabunta for the toads to not reverse summon him if I came to ask them. By me means Konoha by extension." Jiraiya answered.
"Aren't you the senior summoner? Why would they listen to him over you?" Tsunade asked.
"Normally that's how it would go. But….they were really pissed at me this time. Gamabunta smacked me around for hours. The elder toads forced me to give up the toad summoning scroll. I also know that Gamabunta offered Naruto the opportunity to train in Mount Myōboku. Whether or not he did I'm not sure. Though it wouldn't do much, mastering the training from the toads takes years to master. Unless you were Minato." Jiraiya said.
"Right...the same boy who mastered a technique in a week that took Minato three years to accomplish. Tell me Jiraiya, what all did you teach Naruto up to that point and what exactly were you planning on teaching him for the last two years?" Tsunade narrowed her eyes.
"I taught him how to break out of a genjutsu, how to increase the size of his rasengan and worked on his taijutsu. I planned to spend most of the remaining time focusing on him gaining more control over the Kyuubi's chakra." Jiraiya replied.
"...is that it?" Tsunade had been expecting more than that. She isn't pleased.
"...yeah.." Jiraiya started sweating. Seeing the expression of his former teammate's face.
"You mean to tell me that not only that you wasted a year barely teaching him anything. You also planned to spend the majority of the training trip working on his control over Kyuubi's chakra. Jiraiya, he could've done most of that here. Hell I could've had him go to a certain location near Konoha to train in using the fox's chakra. It's no wonder he left, you were wasting his time! You're telling me three whole years of training a fucking chakra monster and that's all you come could up with for a training regiment?!" Tsunade roared in anger.
"W-Well it's not like I could teach him much anyway with how shitty his chakra control is. We would end up wasting a lot of time with him trying to learn most of my jutsus." His excuse is terrible, he couldn't believe that's the best he could come up with on spot.
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK A SENSEI IS FOR YOU DUMBASS! Your main priority is to help him fix his chakra control so that he can learn more jutsus at a quicker rate. Besides with his stamina, shadow clones would've cut down time exponentially. Didn't you tell him that at least?"
His silence spoke volumes.
Shizune or the hidden Anbu couldn't believe that this is the same man who trained the Fourth Hokage.
"What's your pathetic excuse for that Jiraiya?" Tsunade had to restrain herself from strangling him.
"I didn't want him to start abusing that method. In my opinion he wasn't ready for that kind of training with his level of immaturity. Too much risk of him potentially killing himself." Jiraiya answered.
Tsunade facepalmed herself. "He's a jinchuuriki and Uzumaki. If there's anybody who could abuse that method of training and survive it like it's nothing. It's Naruto!"
'And Kushina.' She thought to herself. There are days where she wonders what her friend is up to. Probably enjoying her life to its fullest just as she said she would.
"Alright alright so I messed up." Jiraiya replied.
The lack of concern in his tone pissed her off even more.
"Messed up? NO YOU FUCKED UP YOU FOOL! Naruto already doesn't have the greatest history with Konoha due to all the hatred he had to endure growing up. I'm surprised he didn't leave this village the first chance he got. His education in the academy was sabotaged for years! Then he gets told of his burden by a traitor of all people. Next his jounin sensei spends six months with him to only teach him tree walking and teamwork exercises. Now the one person who he believed really wanted to train him ended up wasting a whole year of his time. He already didn't have many ties to Konoha. Literally me, you and Shizune were his biggest ties to Konoha. You and him already had a relationship before either me or Shizune met him. So what do you think he might do once he realizes that he can't even trust the person who he thought he could trust the most? Oh I know, he might not ever want to return to Konoha! Hell he could be dead or captured by the Akatsuki for all we know. AND IT WOULD BE BECAUSE YOU CHOOSE TO GO TO WHOREHOUSES INSTEAD OF TRAINING YOUR STUDENT!" The Godaime yelled in absolute fury.
Before Jiraiya knew it, he was yanked by his shirt. All he could feel is fear for his life.
"You better pray to kami that Naruto ends up returning at some point within the next couple months. That's when you were due to originally return. Sending you back out to look for him is pointless if he was able to avoid you for nearly two years now. The toads won't help us either. If he doesn't return or we somehow find out that something bad happened to him. I will not only take away what makes you a man and sever your chakra network. I will ban your novels and put you in a hospital for the rest of your life! Now get the fuck out of my office!"
Tsunade punched him so hard that he flew out of the window, soaring across Konoha.
He got off easy.
"What are we going to do Tsunade-sama? Naruto is out there all alone with no kind of backup." Shizune was worried for the boy she's come to see as a surrogate brother.
Tsunade sighed. "Unfortunately there isn't much we can do, Shizune. I can't just send out anbu all over the elemental nations to look for Naruto. That would spread our forces too thin. Asking any of the other great villages for help is too risky. Except for Suna, the others will most likely try to convince Naruto to join their own village. Honestly, I wouldn't mind if Naruto chose that it was best for him to not return here. However with the rising threat of the Akatsuki. We need Naruto if we want to take them down."
"Then there's another problem, if Naruto does return, how strong will he be? It's not too many shinobi out there of Jiraiya's or my caliber. I'm not saying he won't be stronger. But will it be enough to defeat an S-rank shinobi? I hope so. More than any of that, I just want to know that he's alive and safe. I'm assuming he's alive since the toads would've told Jiraiya if something happened." Tsunade cared a lot about Naruto. More so than her position as Hokage.
