New and improved chapter 2! Go back and read one if you havent yet, thats been updated too!
"Ma'am? Can you hear me?"
Lyra opens her eyes only to be greeted with a bright light flashing in her eye. This is so not helping my headache. The light disappears and she finally get to look at her surroundings, finding herself in a hospital room.
"Welcome back to the land of the living, we've been waiting for you to wake up for some time now. Couldn't get very good vitals on you so we weren't sure on what was going on in that noggin of yours. So, tell me how are you feeling?" The doctor smiles at her and stands back.
"Well, aside from the overwhelming pounding in my head, I'm quite hungry." And I want to eat you, sorry dude.
"Good, I'll give you something for that but first I need a name, we couldn't find an ID on you and the gentleman that brought you in didn't know your last name."
"I would rather keep this a first name only relationship." I really want to eat you right now dude.
"Miss Lyra, I need a last name for the report and to find your emergency contact." Ugh. I think I've had enough of this.
"I said no. Now look at me." Lyra pulls the doctors face toward hers and compels him. "You will not move, or make a sound, and when I'm done you will forget all of this." Lyra makes sure the door and curtains are closed before launching herself at the doctors neck. Careful to not kill the doctor, Lyra pulls away just as he starts to sway, and wipes her blood on the open wound to erase her mark. She smiles, the pain in her head finally stops hurting, blood always does the trick. I'm going to need more but this should do, at least I can get out of here and figure out what the hell is going on.
Lyra makes for the door, careful to compel the doctor to also erase all records of her at the hospital. She doesn't know if anyone is after her but better to be safe than sorry. Once she walks out the exit doors the man from earlier is there. No, the vampire. He stands from the bench he was sitting on and makes for her. I do not need this right now. I need to get more blood, and preferably a nice glass of alcohol.
"Miss, my name is Godric, I was the one who brought you here. I was concerned for your well being."
"Well, I'm fine, now aren't I?" She says as she keeps walking. She was more concerned with finding out where she was than someone pitying her. "I don't need your pity."
"I do not pity. I merely wish to make sure you are okay. I have been around a long time and I know a lost soul when I see one." Lyra pauses from the sincerity in his voice. She too had been around a long time, and knew that she was in unfamiliar territory, and away from her family.
"I appreciate the concern, Godric but I think I can figure it out myself. Besides, not all those who wander are lost." She stops and turns in his direction, smiling at her savior. He returns the smile, turning his head as if she interests him.
"You are wise for your age...Lyra was it?" She nods in confirmation. "You have a beautiful name, one inspired by the stars."
"Not many know of the constellation these days."
"I have always found the stars a mystical place. Humans have now figured out a way to travel among them, study them, and to categorize them, but to me they will always be the one thing that never changes throughout time." Lyra looks at the vampire in front of her with so much understanding. She too felt the same, never had someone else shared such a connection with the stars.
"Look at me, talking about my life, I came here to talk about you." He smiles at his moment of reflection. "Tell me Lyra, are you truly alright? I would not want to leave you without knowing for sure."
"Yes Godric, I am quite alright. But I do have a question for you, as I'm sure you can tell by the accent I'm not from around here. So, could you point me in the direction that you found me? I have a friend that lives near there, and I was on my way to hers when I ended up in the alley." That's right lie your ass off and figure out what the hell is going on. Maybe that alley has some answers.
"Of course, should be just down the block. The alley was next to a bar called Gloria's."
Hey... I am attempting to fix my previous high school version of this story and elevate it to new levels. I look to actually complete it too lol. All chapters have been erased and are currently being re-imagined. I own nothing but my OCs :)
