Tsunade is rubbing her temples. "Ok let me get this straight, Naruto is actually your supposed deceased son. But it turns out the Sandaime lied to you and lied to the village about your death. You and Naruto randomly meet at a bar one night two years ago. Shared your life stories while drunk, got drunk some more while talking, you threw him the bone, he caught it, ended up back at your place. Have the greatest sex you've ever had up to that point. Wake up the next morning, talk some more to get to know each other, you find out he's your son. Then you explain what happened to him. He accepts your apology but doesn't see you as his mother. You know that you could never have a normal mother son relationship with him. You decide to continue on with your relationship. Then you agree to train him. Taking him basically all over the continent. Along the way you somehow became a jinchuuriki again. Did I get all of that right?"
"That's the shortened version of it, but yeah pretty much." Kushina answered.
"I think I need a drink." Tsunade facepalmed herself.
Kushina snorted. "When don't you need a drink Tsuna?"
Ignoring her comment. "How did you not recognize Naruto? Hell I'm surprised I didn't see it sooner. You both have that verbal tic. It's so obvious with his old personality too."
"Well...I was drunk? I was already being drawn to him because he was an Uzumaki. Didn't help that I thought he was a sexier version of Minato. Literally nothing in my mind made me even think that he could be Naruto around that time, not even the whiskers. The verbal tic did take me by surprise. It was all so obvious yet I was so blind to it. Nothing clicked until he told me his name." Kushina answered.
"Well...it's an interesting story to say the least. I'm happy that both of you were able to work it out though. You two look really good together as odd as that is. What are you going to do once people start to recognize you?" Tsunade asked.
"Nothing why should I? It's not my fault they were told I was dead by their leader. Also only a select group of people knew I was pregnant, a good portion of them are no longer among the living. If anybody does have something to say about my relationship with Naruto. Then they can come say it to my face and get dealt with or go to hell for all that I care. Truthfully after learning what Naruto had to endure during those 14 years. I'm not fond of Konoha at all. Seriously the only reasons we came back is because Naruto wanted answers from Kakashi, to see you two, Iruka, Teuchi, Ayame, his friends, to see me beat the shit out of Jiraiya and because he thinks Konoha will be in the center of everything in some way." Kushina stated.
"What about his dream of being Hokage?" Shizune answered.
"That's still up in the air, can't really blame him. I wouldn't want to be the leader of a village filled with people who hated me most of my life either. Then finding out the Sandaime not only lied to me but him too. He told Naruto that he didn't know who his parents were and that both of us were dead. The old man didn't even properly explain what being a jinchuuriki meant to him when Naruto found out what he was. He had Naruto thinking he was the only one to ever carry the fox. Jiraiya blatantly abandoning him didn't help matters. Nor did his neglectful training methods or finding out that Jiraiya is his godfather. I honestly will be surprised if he chooses to stay in Konoha for good when it's all said or done. Though some people won't take too kindly to that even if he does retire. Not that we give a damn." Kushina said.
"If you two think you are leaving me behind if you leave then you have another thing coming. Family has to stick together after all." Tsunade voiced.
"Tsunade-sama!" Shizune gasped.
"Oh don't act so surprised Shizune. You and I both know exactly how we felt when Kushina left the first time. We missed her dearly, then I don't even want to relieve how I felt when Naruto first left for his training trip. I missed him so damn much that it hurt. It's not like I have any real ties to Konoha either. Besides you, Naruto, Sakura and now Kushina. It's no one else, I assure you. I refuse to be separated from my family again. Plus Konoha still hasn't really felt like home to me even after being back for three years." Tsunade said to her apprentice.
Shizune knew that she would be following right after Tsunade if she did leave again. As much as she likes being back in Konoha. She cannot imagine being apart from Tsunade after everything they've been through. It just wasn't an option in her mind.
"I'll be right besides you guys." The blackette sighed.
"You don't have to if you don't want to Shizune." Tsunade voiced.
The blackette smiled. "Yeah you're not getting rid of me that easily Tsunade-sama. Good try though."
"Hey who said I was trying to get rid of you? If it was my choice I would drag your ass with me. You're my family too." Tsunade crossed her arms.
"By the way, why didn't none of the clan heads look out for Naruto? They knew who he was." Kushina asked.
"From what all I could gather, apparently sensei believed that he would be better off growing up as an orphan in order to throw off any potential spies. He feared Naruto would be targeted by Minato's enemies. I don't want to believe it, but I think he and Jiraiya may have been in on it together on what they wanted to use Naruto for. Sensei probably wanted him as a loyal village weapon, thus being his main reason lying to you about Naruto's death. We already know Jiraiya's intentions. Sensei left some journals so maybe he wrote about it. I'll have to check them out. He told the clan heads to not interact with Naruto. Same thing he told Kakashi as well. No one was allowed to help Naruto out. Leaving him to basically raise himself alone in a village filled people who hated him for the most part." Tsunade explained.
Kushina felt her anger soar. "Fucking old bastard, he's lucky he's already dead. Can't say the same about Jiraiya. I guess I can't go raise hell to the clan heads then since their hands were tied. By the way, that Sakura girl, I don't like her either. She had no right to treat Naruto the way she did."
Tsunade sighed. "Look Kushina, I understand how you feel. Trust me I was pissed at her when I learned of her actions too. But she's not a bad person nor is she the same weak fangirl she was during that time. She's told me more times that I could count on how much she regrets what she did and wishes how she could apologize to Naruto. All I'm asking is that you give her a chance to prove herself before you decide to wring her neck."
"Fine fine but only cause you're asking and Naruto already decided to give her one last chance. By the way, do you expect something from Danzo now that Naruto is back?"
"Of course I do, I'm just not sure when he'll make his move. It won't be soon, no it'll be during a time where the village is vulnerable. He'll probably want to spy on Naruto to see how strong he's gotten. But he most likely won't make a move against him until he's certain that Konoha is under his rule." Tsunade said.
"I see, well as long as he doesn't try anything serious for now. Then neither will Naruto or me. So how is this team thing going to go?"
"I'm not exactly too sure yet. I do know I want you and Naruto on a team together. That is if you're willing to be a Konoha shinobi again?"
"Hmmm I guess, though only send me on missions with Naruto."
"That's fine, most likely Kakashi and Sakura will be the other members of the team. Though they won't always join you on missions. I mainly want you and Naruto to deal with the threat of the Akatsuki if you two are so sure you can easily defeat them."
"That's fine since that was our plan anyways. It's fine if we stay in the Uzumaki compound?"
Tsuande nodded. "Go for it, have you noticed anybody glaring at you on your way here?"
"Yeah some people who did recognize Naruto did glare at him with hatred. Though a good portion of them seemed confused as to why I was with him. No one recognized me as far as I could tell. Don't know how considering Konoha doesn't have a lot of redheads. Again, not my problem. This actually makes being here easier for me. I won't be looked at as the late Yondaime's wife who they want to stare at walking down the road. Kami I hated that shit back when Minato was alive. I get treated like an outcast most of my life just to be the center of attention once Minato took the hat. Hell I'm surprised no one caught onto my pregnancy. Anyways, yes we were glared at. Though most of the women seem to glare at Naruto with lust instead of hate. The men held both hate and jealousy." Kushina answered.
"So only some, not the majority?" Tsunade asked for clarification.
The redhead nodded. "Yeah only some, Naruto was a bit surprised it wasn't more. But then chalked it up to either most not recognizing him or the female population wanting to get into his pants rather than hate him. They'll soon learn their place tho."
"At least it's not the majority. Truthfully I'm not even sure if telling the people of his heritage will help him. You don't just get rid of 18 years of deep seeded hatred at the drop of a hat. I'm glad that I disbanded the civilian council after Naruto left three years ago. They played a key part in making his life harder than it needed to be growing up. The shinobi council all have no issues with Naruto. Those annoying elders Homura and Koharu don't hate Naruto but aren't all that fond of him either. That's due to a combination of their wariness of the Kyuubi and Naruto's old pranking attacks on Konoha from back then. I wouldn't be surprised if they were also in on sensei's plan. Danzo strictly sees Naruto as a weapon for Konoha's military, nothing more nothing less." Tsunade said.
"Don't even worry about it Tsuna. Naruto says that he doesn't care if the people find out about his heritage or not. If the ones who hated him all his life suddenly showed him nothing but love and adoration simply because of his parents. Then it truly shows how low Konoha has sunk. He wants nothing to do with them. In fact that might make him want to leave Konoha even more. What difference does it make if he's the son of the Yondaime? No one should have to suffer through that type of treatment for something that was completely out of their control." Kushina told the slug sannin.
"Ughh my grandfather and uncle would be so disappointed." Tsunade rubbed her temples.
"Probably, but hey no sense in crying about it now. Naruto doesn't need to become the Hokage in order to fulfill that desire for acknowledgement of who he is. He's accepted and has been acknowledged for exactly who he is. A Uzumaki jinchuuriki who is the son of a legendary kage and husband of the sexiest and strongest woman on the planet. Plus I've had two years to give him all the love and adoration he's craved for over the years. There's not a single bitch in Konoha who deserves my man." Kushina smirked.
"Ouch I don't think a certain Hyuga is going to take the words of your last sentence too kindly." Tsunade said.
"What do you mean?" Kushina asked with a raised eyebrow.
Shizune and Tsunade both looked at each other before looking back at Kushina.
Tsunade started off by saying "Let me tell you about a young woman who is the heiress of the Hyuga clan named Hinata Hyuga…"
With Naruto
"So are you guys dating? The blond jinchuuriki asked Shikamaru and Temari as all three of them and Sakura were walking down the road.
Shikamaru grunted. "It's not like that."
"Heh, cut the jokes. Why would I be dating this guy? The chunin exams are coming up, I've been going back and forth between Suna and Konoha for meetings concerning the exams." Temari scoffed.
"And although it's a pain, I've been put in charge of the exams." Shikamaru voiced.
"By the way, who was that woman you kissed back there? I've never seen her color of hair in Konoha before." Temari wondered.
"She used to live in Konoha a long time ago, her name is Kushina. I met her two years ago, she's my life partner, basically my wife." Naruto replied calmly.
Temari almost choked. "W-Wife?! You?! You're married?!"
"Yep, Yep and Yep." Naruto smiled.
"Troublesome, how the hell did you get such a beautiful woman Naruto?" Shikamaru asked.
That was the question Temari and Sakura had as well.
The blond jinchuuriki smirked. "What can I say Shika? I've always had the devil's luck when it came to certain things." He shrugged.
Shikamaru couldn't deny that, he's witnessed it before. "Speaking of the exams, what are you going to do Naruto?"
"What do you mean?"
"About the exams, you're the only one in our class who hasn't become a chunin." Shikamaru said.
"Oh you mean that, well you're right I am the only one who didn't become a chunin. I'm a jounin with sannin travel rights." Naruto answered.
"Huh?" Shikamaru is shocked. "When did this happen?"
"Just a few minutes before you two showed up to sensei's office." Sakura spoke up.
"Considering I defeated Neji in the exams who was said to be a prodigy. I defeated Gaara when he released his bijuu before he could destroy the village. Also played a major part in bringing Baachan back to Konoha to become Hokage. I should've been promoted years ago." Naruto said.
"Wait you mean you never were rewarded for defeating Gaara? I mean that's worth a field promotion alone." Temari questioned.
"You would think so, but it doesn't even matter anymore. It's not like it would've made much of a difference since I left for my trip a few months after the exams. But it's good to hear that you got promoted, Sakura. I already know you're too lazy to move up in the ranks Shikamaru. Temari, I take it you're a jounin now yourself right?" Naruto guessed.
"Oh? How did you figure?" Temari wondered.
"You, Gaara and Kankuro already had the necessary skills to be chunin back then. All three of you were holding back during the prelims. During the finals you were just unlucky to go up against a guy who can think 200 moves ahead with ease. Kankuro I heard lost to Shino but he nearly defeated Shino when they fought during the invasion. Sasuke caught Gaara off guard with his Chidori. Even with it he didn't stand a chance." He explained.
Shikamaru and Sakura were shocked by Naruto's perceptiveness. Temari was impressed.
"Troublesome, I was right, you really aren't an idiot anymore." Shikamaru said.
"Oi I never was to begin with, you try being a jinchuuriki with teachers who sabotage your education." Naruto grumbled.
Shikamaru and Sakura winced. Pretty much everyone in the Konoha 11 knew of Naruto's jinchuuriki status.
"Sorry…" Shikamaru apologized.
"Nah don't worry about it, I'm not mad at you Shika. I was only saying." Naruto waved him off.
"Wait you're one like Gaara?!" Temari exclaimed in surprise.
"Yeah I'm surprised he didn't tell you, I'm the jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi." Naruto answered.
Soon Temari and Shikamaru went their separate ways.
Naruto and Sakura ended up at Ichiraku's where both Ayame and Teuchi were happy to see their favorite customer back.
After ordering their food, Sakura decided now was the time to apologize.
"Hey Naruto." She said.
"Huh?" The blond looked at her.
"I wanted to say that I'm sorry for how shitty I treated you back then. A lot of what I did was uncalled for and inexcusable no matter how much you used to annoy me. I spent a lot of time over the last few years thinking of my actions towards you. One thing in particular I really regret doing to you is crying in front of you, begging you to bring Sasuke. I knew you had feelings for me yet I completely ignored your feelings on the matter as if I was trying to manipulate you in some way. It was so disgusting of me. Then you promised me that you would bring Sasuke back, only for him to put a chidori through your chest. And what did I do? Sulk more over Sasuke being gone rather than worry about your condition. You were covered top to bottom in bandages. And I have the absolute nerve to come visit you and still act sad about Sasuke in front of you. No matter how much I was trying to hide it. Leading you to make a promise of a lifetime to me on bringing Sasuke back. I could've told you that it wasn't necessary to go that far when Sasuke made his own choice. I should've told you to forget about Sasuke and worry more about yourself. I should've been trying to be a better friend overall. Yet I selfishly let you take on such an unnecessary burden. Naruto, you don't need to keep your promise to me anymore. My entire world no longer revolves around him because I got over him. Sasuke never cared about me as far as I could tell. He always treated me as if I wasn't worth a damn. I cried and begged him to stay, yet he still left without batting an eye. If it comes down to it and we have to put him down. Then we'll just have to put Sasuke Uchiha down…" Sakura finished her long apology. She hoped that Naruto accepted it even though he had every right to spit it back in her face.
Now if there was something that Naruto wasn't expected to hear once he returned. This would definitely be in the top 3. Sakura apologizing out of nowhere definitely took him by surprise. And she's gotten over Sasuke?! What the hell did the world come to?
"Is the world ending? I swear I thought I just heard you say you're over Sasuke? Maybe I'm just imagining it." Naruto asked her.
Sakura rolled her eyes and playfully punched him in the arm. "Baka, I'm being serious here!"
Naruto turned his head and stared hard in her eyes. Trying to find any form of deceit in them. Sakura felt a bit unnerved by his stare.
"Holy shit...you're actually not bullshitting me...this is a fucking miracle." Naruto's eyes widened in shock.
"Naruto!" Sakura whined.
"Naruto nothing, I mean can you blame me? You've been stuck on Sasuke's ass for as long as I can remember. I mean longer than I spent chasing after you. It's a real shock to know that you've finally moved on from him." Naruto retorted.
The pinkette sighed, knowing his words were true.
"I'm happy for you though, you don't need someone like him in your life." Naruto voiced.
'No I need someone like you…' She thought to herself.
"Yeah it took some time but I finally did it. Anyways enough about Sasuke, how do you feel about my apology?" She asked nervously.
Receiving their orders from Ayame, the blond gazed at his ramen with fondness. No ramen is greater than Ichiraku's. Though Kushina's is literally right there with them. He loves her ramen too.
Sakura nervously watched Naruto take a bit out of his ramen, sighing in bliss before he turned back to her.
"I feel quite surprised and happy about it, to be honest with you Sakura, for a long time that I was away, I considered cutting you off completely." Naruto said.
Sakura winced and felt her heart drop. While she knew that she deserved it if anything. It still deeply hurt her to hear it actually come out of his mouth. It really spoke volumes on how much of a shitty person she used to be.
"I figured why bother with someone who causes more pain than good? It's not like my feelings ever truly mattered to you whenever it had to do with Sasuke. I tried to be there for you and you would react violently by hitting me for no reason. There's plenty of reasons I could think of, however I knew you were also one of the few people who stuck up for me a couple times. One of the only people to actually believe in me at certain times when almost everyone else doubted me. For as terrible as you treated me most of the time. There are times where you genuinely had my back and tried to help me. Even if it wasn't much, for that I thank you. Which is why I decided to give you one last chance to actually be a proper friend to me. I'm not the same happy go lucky idiot from three years ago, Sakura. I won't accept such treatment any longer. At first it was so I can be acknowledged in some kind of way. Then it developed into an actual crush and me wanting to be at least friends. But I don't need that from you anymore. What I need is a real friend who I will never have to question if they are truly my friend. It's not many people I trust in Konoha, Sakura. I really want you to be one of them. That's why I'm giving you this one last chance. Do not make me regret it. Otherwise, Kushina might end up killing you and trust me, you were one of the main ones on her hit list before I talked her out of it." Naruto finished while continuing to eat his ramen.
The pinkette sighed in relief, he was giving her another chance. She would not mess up this chance. Now it's time for her to make her move.
"Thank you Naruto, I know better than anyone that I don't deserve this chance. Which is why as a way to start making amends to you. I, Haruno Sakura, disciple of the Fifth Hokage, pledge my absolute loyalty and service to you for the rest of my life. No matter what path you take in life I will always be there next to you to support you. This, I swear on my pride as a kunoichi and a woman." Sakura declared strongly with no waver in her tone. Her eyes started directly at Naruto showing nothing but fierce determination.
Naruto on the other hand…
He spat out his ramen, then began choking and coughing violently. It didn't help that Kurama was laughing his ass off inside of his mindscape.
Seriously, what the fuck did she just say? Where the hell did this come from?! First they were talking about her getting over Sasuke, then her apology to him, now she suddenly declared her loyalty and service to him?! Is this really the same Sakura Haruno?
Thankfully Ayame or Teuchi decided to stay quiet and retreat to the back. Neither one could blame Naruto for his reaction.
Looking at his pink haired teammate as if she was insane. "Sakura are you crazy?! You can't just say shit like that out of nowhere. Especially in public! Kami and I thought I was lacking in social etiquette. But did you seriously just sell yourself to me?! Why would I want you to become my slave?!"
"Baka not slave, more like subordinate, vassal or servant. You would be the man who I would follow basically even over the Hokage." Sakura calmly stated.
"I didn't think you were the kind of girl to risk treason Sakura." The blond shook his head, trying to wrap his mind around this. "Can you please explain to me where did this even come from?"
"Well…" Sakura turned her attention to her ramen for a moment before looking back at Naruto. "I guess you can say it's a few reasons. One of them is to honor my deceased mother in a way."
"Your mother died? I'm sorry to hear that."
"Thanks, both of my parents died two years ago. My mom had an illness that finally caught up to her. My father was a merchant who ended up being killed by a group of bandits on his way back home three months before my mother passed. It was a real tough time and my father's death only made my mother's health worsen. During that time, I learned a lot about my mother. She told me how she had a very close friend who she had a falling out with. My mother's friend tried to reconcile with my mother, but my mother wasn't having it at the time. Sadly just when she reconciled with her friend. Four days later the Kyuubi attack happened. My mother fell into a deep depression because of the loss of her friend. She blamed herself for over a decade on how she could've spent and cherished more time with her friend if not for her foolish stubbornness. It caused her to lash out in anger sometimes. She blamed herself and the Kyuubi. So being on the civilian council for over a decade. She quite often took her anger out on the object of it….you.." Sakura shuddered before continuing.
"Apparently it wasn't until after the chunin exams, where she retired due to the discovery of her illness, that she realized something. Seeing your fight in the exams, it really got her thinking of how you reminded her of her deceased friend. That's when it all clicked. You were the son of her deceased friend this whole time, yet she did nothing but try her damndest to make you life hell. She told me it should've been so obvious. Yet she ignored all the signs due to her anger and grief. It took her depression to an all time low. She cried and locked herself in her room for days. Me and my dad tried to cheer her up but nothing helped. It didn't help that her illness wasn't getting any better either. She wanted to get on her hands and knees and begged for your forgiveness a thousand times over. However she felt that she didn't have the right to even be in your presence after her actions. She fully supported Tsunade-sensei's decision in disbanding the civilian council. She wanted every single person including herself to pay for their crimes against you. My mother hated herself for not only failing your mother, but failing you as well. She hated herself for realizing too late that you were your mother's son. It ate away at her. When my father finally died, she told me everything except for your mother's name. I didn't even see a picture of her. Because she knew she didn't have the right to gain your forgiveness. She asked that I gain your forgiveness for both me and her. At first I didn't know how I would achieve this. But then I figured the first two steps would be apologizing then swearing myself to you." Sakura explained in detail.
Naruto honestly didn't know how to react to that. While he did feel kinda bad for Sakura's mom. He still can't help but feel anger towards her for the role she played in fucking up his life as a kid. Regardless if he's his mother's son or not. None of that should happen to anybody period. Would she regret it if Naruto had been an ordinary orphan? Who knows at this point.
"I'm not going to ask you to suddenly forgive my mother Naruto. I only told you this because you asked for my reasons. Sure I want to honor my mother's wish, but I also want to actually make amends instead of just saying that I will. I need to prove to you that no matter what you will always be my friend and have my loyalty. Another reason is...I don't want to serve the same people who made the life of the man who is precious to me a living hell. Tell me Naruto, did you enjoy your life better traveling and training with Kushina? Didn't it make you not want to come back to Konoha where you are glared at for merely existing it seems? I remember the times seeing you get kicked out of stores for no reason. I even remember seeing you overcharged for your food at the market once. Hell my mother went into details on how she and the civilian council hated you, wanted to ruin your life since the Hokage wouldn't put you down. Then after hearing about Jiraiya-sama and his actions. Do you even want to be here right now?" Sakura asked her friend.
Naruto sighed. "Yes I did enjoy my life outside of Konoha. Yes it made me not want to come back. Trust me you don't need to remind me of those days. I remember them all too well. To answer your last question, I do want to be here to see our friends, Iruka, Kakashi, Baachan, Shizune, Old man Teuchi and Ayame. But the other main reason I'm here is because I feel that Konoha will be deep in the mix of the upcoming events. Other than that...I wouldn't have even thought of coming back."
"My point exactly, I honestly considered just leaving myself in order to find you. But that wouldn't have been the smartest idea, I literally had no idea where you could've been."
"You were willing to become a missing nin just to find me?" Naruto was a bit surprised.
"Of course, you didn't think I just swore my loyalty for you for nothing did you? I'm serious about this, if I have to leave Konoha in order to stand by your side then so be it. Plus Konoha isn't as great as the people here try to make it seem. We have our dark secrets just like any other hidden village. We think we're the best out of the great five villages but we are just as bad, if not worse than the others. I mean how many notorious missing nin have come from Konoha?" The pinkette voiced.
"I see…" Naruto sighed again, knowing how committed she was serving him. He would cause more harm than good by trying to deny her. No matter how much he wishes she chose a different way of making amends to him. What kind of mother tells their daughter to serve another man in order to make amends with him for the both of them? He is kinda happy that Sakura has her own legitimate reasons for wanting to follow under him. But still it was kinda weird, he's not even the damn Hokage. Not that he gives a damn about his image in Konoha. He really doesn't need the extra attention. Sakura being his servant will surely bring masses of attention if people learn about this.
Then there's Kushina, honestly he's not worried about her reaction that much. If anything the redhead will laugh her ass off. Seeing this as Sakura's own ways of wanting to make amends to Naruto. This might cause Kushina to warm up to the pinkette somewhat.
"Ugh well it's clear you're not going to let me out of this are you?" He already knew his answer.
It was confirmed by Sakura smiling while shaking her head. "Nope. I will bug you about this everyday until you accept just like you used to do to me for dates." She smirked.
Facepalming and cursing himself. "Fuck you are playing so dirty right now."
"Don't hate the player, hate the game my dear Naruto." Sakura patted his shoulder.
"You do know that this will also apply to Kushina seeing as she's my wife? You will be serving her as well." Naruto wanted her to know.
"Yeah I know, though I'm still going to be more loyal to you." She shrugged.
The blond sighed once more. "Fine...I guess you can be my servant and I'll be your master or lord or whatever. If this is what you really want that is."
"I want this more than anything. Anything you say goes Naruto-sama." Sakura grinned.
"Ok, first order of business do not call me 'Naruto-sama', I'm not even the Hokage or a position of power." Naruto said.
"Hai hai Naruto-sama." Sakura teased him.
The blond's forehead smacked the table. "I swear I'm going to regret this." He groaned.
Sakura laughed. "Oh cheer up Naruto, I promise this will be one of your greatest decisions ever."
