After walking back into Eric's house… our house, I went to the kitchen to find something to eat. Eric went to his office and Godric followed me. I sat about making spaghetti with marinara sauce. He watched my every movement from his perch on the bar stool. Once the noodles were boiling, I sat down beside him. It didn't take but a moment before he spoke.

"You must have questions, Bella," he said.

"I do."

"You can ask me if you would like," he told me.

I bit my lip, trying to decide what to ask first. "How is it possible? The two mate thing."

He looked thoughtful. "We aren't sure how, but there are other situations similar to ours. It's not impossible, but it's also not common."

I nodded. "Is it the entire species that don't like Cold Ones or is it just Eric?"

He chuckled with a slight smile. "It isn't the entire species, but it isn't just Eric. Those who have encountered them usually don't like them, and typically, any of our kind under 200 or so don't even know of their existence. Pam is one of the few exceptions. Part of that is because Eric thought she should know about every species he does."

I thought as I made the salad to go with the spaghetti, which I had to pour the water out of the noodles before mixing in the sauce. After I put the spaghetti in a bowl and salad dressing on the vegetables, I carried the bowls to the table in the living room, Godric carrying my drink for me. Eric and Pam were already in there. I started eating my salad, waiting for the spaghetti to cool down some.

"Godric, please explain the information you revealed earlier. I knew you were the head of the bloodline, but not that we were connected to Sophie Anne," Eric requested.

He smiled lightly, likely knowing this is where everything was headed earlier.

"My maker turned another vampire named Remus. He thinks a lot like my maker when it comes to values, way of living, and creating new vampires. He brands his progenies before he turns him and gives the vampires tattoos similar to ours. He has markings nearly identical to mine. He has low regard for human life and thinks they are merely a source of food and sometimes entertainment. He has created five vampires in the more than 2000 years he has lived. I am older than him though." At this, Godric donned a slight smirk, and I suddenly got the feeling this was a good thing.

"One of his progenies is Alain Fournier, whom was Sophie Anne's maker. He died by meeting the sun because the villagers trapped him, and Sophie Anne didn't make it in time to save him, but I doubt she wanted to. He was even crueler to her than Remus is to his progenies, even our maker at times. After Alain was killed, he took care of Sophie Anne, who wasn't that old yet. They shared blood so it could be closer to a maker-child bond, but really it was just a blood bond."

I saw Eric thinking. "Was this the same vampire named Remus I met at the Siege of Neuss in 1475? He had commented about being made by you instead of him, wishing it had been him instead."

Godric rolled his eyes. "Of course he did; yes, it was him. He likes to fight as well."

He nodded. "Are there any other notable progenies of Remus's?"

Godric smirked a little. "Yes; Peter Threadgill, the King of Arkansas, and Armando Vital, the King of New Mexico."

Eric and Pam were surprised. I didn't completely understand, but I figured being a king or queen was a big deal to vampires, and that two, maybe three, in the same bloodline connected to one person was an even bigger deal.

There was silence after that, except the sound of me eating and drinking. Once I finished that though, I carried the dishes to the kitchen to escape the awkward-ish silence that had filled the air, at least awkward on my part. I got a fresh drink as I had finished the other one before returning except this time, I sat on Eric's lap. He wrapped his arms around me and put his chin on the top of my head. I looked around. Pam was deep in thought, and Godric was observing just as I was. I had noticed Eric looked thoughtful too. Godric was studying me most of all, I guess to see what my reaction to this was. I didn't know what my face showed, but I was sure he somehow found it interesting. Since I had written the mass confusion off until later when I could question Eric about it more, the only thing I felt was bored.

I looked around trying to find something to do, but came up empty. I stood up, Eric's arms falling to his lap and went to our room in search of a book. I successfully found my copy of Wuthering Heights and returned to the living room. I sat back down in Eric's lap, where he returned to his previous position, and started reading. I'm not sure how long passed after that but finally someone spoke, startling me from the tale of romantic tragedy.

"It's getting late, almost sunrise," spoke the soft and concerned voice of Godric.

Eric nodded before moving me to the side. He went over to the wall and pushed something before the house was encased in metal like yesterday, making it light tight and secure. Pam stood up too.

"I'll see you tomorrow evening everyone." She started walking towards the hallway.

"Goodnight, Pam," we all called.

Eric held his hand out for me, which I took. After I was standing, he picked up my drink and carried it for me. Godric was beside me as well. We walked down the hall to our room, and instead of heading to the guest room, Godric came in with us. I was pleasantly surprised. I saw Eric raise his eyebrow, but Godric just smirked and winked.

Eric nodded before talking. "Bella, why don't you go get ready for bed?"

"Okay," I answered before heading into the closet. I found a red piece of lingerie, finding I liked wearing them earlier. It was lacy around the edges and see through. At the top, it clung to my chest, but not too tightly, and it flowed out from right underneath my breasts. I had no bra on and lacy black panties. I changed into them and brushed my teeth before I went back out to lie on the bed and wait since neither Eric nor Godric were in here.

Godric's POV

After informing Eric I needed to speak with him, he sent Bella off to get changed to sleep. We walked into his office and he closed the door for privacy. We both sat down.

"Did you notice Bella's reaction to everything earlier?" I asked.

He thought back for a moment. "Not much, she was sitting to the opposite side of you, which is where I was looking. But I did feel confusion and resignation, plus a hint of determination." He chuckled then explained. "From my experience with her, once she is determined to do something, there is likely not any stopping her."

I chuckled then as well, joining him. "I think she is quite confused, and doesn't know what any of this means. Do you want to explain everything to her, or would you like for me to?"

He contemplated which would be best before answering, "I think you should. Not only could you most likely explain her questions better, it will give you some time to get to know each other better. Besides, apparently even I didn't know quite a few things about the bloodline. She undoubtedly has questions that I might not be able to answer."

The look he gave me for withholding such knowledge from him showed being annoyed, angry, and upset. I understood the feelings, but they were unnecessary. He rolled his eyes before leaning back into the seat. We heard Bella go to the bathroom to brush her teeth and then went into the bedroom and lying on the bed to wait.

"I'll explain everything tomorrow; there isn't enough hours if she is as curious as you claim," I smiled.

He smirked and laughed. "You have no idea."

With that, we stood up and went into the other room. She was on the bed in an outfit that made me on the side of desperate. She looked completely delectable, and I don't mean just her blood. The red see through negligee with black lace panties underneath made her quite the sight. She flushed as she saw us walk into the room, her cheeks becoming rosy and her skin hotter. She had been reading her book again; a worn copy of Wuthering Heights that had certainly seen better days.

"Tomorrow, I will explain all the questions you have about what you heard tonight. Goodnight, Bella." I smiled at her, which she returned.

She bit her lip hesitantly, wanting to say something. I turned and walked to the door before opening it. I turned and said goodnight to Eric as well, and with a last longing glance towards Bella, I left to go into the guest bedroom. It was hard to walk away from my mate, but I knew Bella would get used to the idea, rather quickly if I was lucky. I was quite sure Eric had seen the look I had given Bella, and I knew he wasn't jealous. I could only feel surprise from him, though surprised about what I wasn't sure. I walked into the guest room that I always stay in when I come, almost right across the hall. I have the feeling I would be there that long this time, or I would be here for the rest of eternity until Bella wanted to see more of the world.

I was a little surprised when I heard Eric coming in behind me. I turned and looked at him, seeing the look of surprise and confusion on his face along with a sparkle of hope in his blue eyes.

"How are you simply walking into a different room to sleep? After I found out she was my mate, it was hard to come down to safety when it was nearly dawn."

I smiled sadly. "It isn't simple, Eric. I'm quite sure it is just as hard, if not harder for me to walk in here." He frowned. "Besides, she is likely overwhelmed by the feelings of one mate, and having two by her could easily make it even more so. I will until she is ready before I do anything else."

I turned and started getting ready for sleep. I changed into something more comfortable and turned back to Eric, who had surprisingly not left yet.

"Godric, come in there with us please?" he asked.

I considered. "Is this you asking, Bella asking, or both?"

He smirked. "Bella… and me, so both."

I smiled before giving in. "Alright."

He smiled as well. "How about I sleep on one side of Bella and you on the other?"

I nodded. "That sounds good."

We walked into the room, and Bella was in the middle of the bed and an extra pillow had been added to make it three. She smiled brightly when I came in, which triggered a smile from Eric and me as well.

"Godric! I'm glad you came back." Her eyes were filled with such happiness that I couldn't bear the thought of having said no and those beautiful brown eyes being filled with disappointment and sadness. I was glad I came back as well. Eric laid on her right side and I on her left. We all snuggled under the comforter and sheets. She had turned to curl up on me instead of Eric, who merely smirked for a moment before smiling. He had his arms around her side and was pressed up against her back.

See, she's already accepting the bond. After being hurt so badly, I'm quite sure the feeling of being loved by more than one person makes her extremely happy, especially in her heart and mind, Eric told me mentally so Bella wouldn't overhear.

I smiled. I'm glad for it.

That moment, Bella fell asleep. Shortly after, we followed. Vampires dream as normal humans do, and that night, I dreamed of Bella. The things we did in the dream I couldn't wait to do outside of the dream. Since I was over 2000 years old, I woke up only a couple hours later, having all the rest I needed to have. I watched Bella sleep, and she only said a few words after I woke up. For a moment I thought she had woken up, but I figured out she talks in her sleep. I suppose most of it happened before I woke up. She had said our names: Godric and Eric. I smiled at that.

A couple hours later, I saw and felt Eric wake up. His eyelids opened and he saw me looking at him before smiling. I returned the smile and donned a slight smirk of my own. This created confusion from my child.

It appears our Bella talks in her sleep, I informed him.

He smirked slightly and we both chuckled, though only lightly so as not to wake Bella.

Did she say anything I would like to know? he asked.

I smiled lovingly. The only words I heard were our names.

He smiled as well. We laid there talking for a few hours before Bella stirred. She moaned and tightened her grip on the shirt I had on. She opened her eyes and looked up; when she saw me, her eyes lit up and she smiled with her lips still shut. I leaned down and pecked her lips quickly.

"You stayed," she commented happily.

I nodded. "I did."

She rolled over some and greeted Eric, who kissed her as well though more deeply. She turned and looked up at the ceiling, lying in the middle of us. It was peaceful. I smirked and kissed her neck.

"I found out a very curious thing about you while you were asleep," I told her.

By her blush and trying to snuggle under the blanket more, I assumed she knew of her habit. "What's that?" she asked regardless.

"You talk in your sleep," I answered, trying not to chuckle.

Her blush deepened. "How much did you hear?"

I smiled reassuringly. "Not much; the only words you said were Eric and Godric."

Her blush lessened, but only by a small amount. We stayed there and talked for an hour, all three of us, getting more comfortable with the situation every second. It was then that Bella's stomach protested. We all got up. Bella and Eric went into the closet in here and I went into the room across the hall. I found a pair of light grey cargo pants along with a long sleeved darker grey shirt and got dressed.

I walked back out to find Eric in dark jeans and a black tank top shirt. Bella was in a pair of loose fitting white pants made of soft material and a purple shirt that came two-thirds of the way down her arm with two wide straps tied in the back and a sparkly charm in the center of the front below her breasts. She also had on black flat shoes, kind of like the ballerinas wear.

Eric said his temporary goodbyes and went into his office. Bella and I went to the kitchen and she started making something to eat. She was silent, concentrating on cutting the leaves of the strawberries off. After a couple of them, I figured out she was trying not to injure herself. I volunteered to cut them for her, and she thanked me gratefully and explained she is clumsy and didn't want to cut herself. When I had cut the right amount, I put them in a bowl and washed them for her. I dried the bowl off with a towel nearby and put them on the counter, where she started snacking on them as she made what I assumed to be pancakes with chocolate chips.

"Bella," I started. She looked up at me curiously as she waited for the dough-y like substance to bake. "You can ask me the questions whenever you are ready," I told her.

She bit her lip and nodded. After a moment of thinking, she finally started asking questions. "What does the head of the bloodline thing mean?"

I smiled, surprised this is where she started but I suppose it did make since. "It means I am the oldest in the bloodline of vampires. A bloodline is the path created by the same blood, for example I turned Eric, Eric turned Pam, and Pam turned a vampire shortly after she was turned named Colin. All those mentioned would be included in my bloodline. My maker also created another vampire named Remus; you heard me speak of him last night. He has created five vampires and one of the vampires he turned created Sophie Anne, the woman you saw last night. All of those are included in the bloodline as well. Since I was turned before Remus, I am the head of the bloodline since my maker is no longer living."

She thought about how I answered and nodded; I knew that meant she understood and that was a good enough answer. "What about the vampire who turned your maker?"

I tried to remember what little my maker told me about his maker. "Well, there isn't much I know about him. He abandoned my maker not long after he created him and taught him everything so he could survive. I have never met him that I know of, unless he was going under a different name than he gave my maker and my maker gave me. That could be very probable; most vampires don't give their real names to others, even their own kind."

My maker had never described what he looked like, but that was also 2000 years ago. I highly doubt he would look the same as he did then; I didn't.

She bit her lip hesitantly. "What are their names, your maker and his?"

I felt Eric's apprehension; he knew how touch of a subject my maker was, though he knew almost everything. I had felt his apprehension start the moment she asked about my 'grandmaker' as Pam termed it.

"My maker's name is Lucius Aurelius Ocella (traditional Latin pronunciation) and his maker's name is Carmanos Treviri. My maker is not even a hundred years older than me vampire wise. His maker was turned 512 BCE. I don't know who turned him." I gave her the information I knew, but still a little limited until later.

She nodded while putting the three pancakes on the plate and putting syrup on them. "What about the other vampire your maker turned?"

I answered, relieved that she didn't have more questions about Lucius or Carmanos… yet. "He was turned nine years after me."

"When were you turned?" she asked.

I smiled while suppressing the urge to chuckle. "I was turned in 48 BCE."

She must have calculated the years. "So… Remus?" I nodded and she smiled. "So Remus was turned in 39 BCE?"

I nodded again in confirmation, and she smiled and kissed me quickly in triumph. This made a large smile come across my face as she started to eat. I heard Pam in Eric's office talking with him about the new monarch for Louisiana. Curious, I listened in and found I knew the vampire. This was bound to be interesting.

Eric's POV

I sat in my office, doing paperwork for the bar and as Sheriff of the area. I had received an e-mail telling me of the new ruler, and I knew Pam would want to meet him if she got the chance. Honestly, I knew this was going to be quite interesting as she had known him years ago. It would really be a re-acquaintance with him rather than meeting him for the first time. When she woke up and got ready, which alone took about thirty minutes to an hour, she came in here, knowing I would tell her to stop if I didn't want her to. It was extremely common for her to come in her after getting ready for the night if she stayed over, and she stayed over far more often than going to her own house. I suppose it was time for me to tell her who the king was.

"So, anything new since last night?" she asked.

I smirked. "A new king of Louisiana."

She raised an eyebrow impatiently. "Well?"

I stared at her, every second making her tenser, until finally I smirked. She rolled her eyes and I chuckled, though the thoughts she was sending me were less than pleasant.

I sighed, finally telling her. "His name is Colin Montgomery."

With that, she went into a shocked silence.
