Author's Note: Hey everyone! Sorry it has been such a long time since I have updated. Everything has been a bit insane the past couple of months. I haven't had time to write. :( Here's an update I hope will make everyone happy!

Previously:

"So, anything new since last night?" Pam asked.

I smirked. "A new king of Louisiana."

She raised an eyebrow impatiently. "Well?"

I stared at her, every second making her tenser until finally I smirked. She rolled her eyes and I chuckled, though the thoughts she was sending me were less than pleasant.

I sighed, finally telling her. "His name is Colin Montgomery."

With that, she went into a shocked silence.

As she finally spoke, I could still hear the slight shock in her voice. "As in…" She paused and took a deep breath. "As in the one I turned in 1906?"

I internally winced at the memory of that night. "Yes, it's him."

She nodded and thought. "How do you think he will react when he sees me again?"

It was customary for the new monarchs to visit their Sheriffs when they are instated. "I don't know."

New Orleans

The new king scheduled his required meetings with all the state's Sheriffs, including the one he appointed today. The Authority said it would handle getting the state's affairs back in order, so he only needed to focus on the Sheriffs. The newly appointed Sheriff of Area One had just left and he would see the Sheriffs of Areas Two and Three in fifteen minutes and an hour respectively. He would then make the trip to Area Four. He would rest there for the day before visiting Area Five tomorrow.

He had heard of the legendary Viking Eric Northman, as had most of the vampire race, along with the Viking's maker Godric, who had the nickname of Death. He knew the two vampires were in the area together, as Godric had just retired and was spending time with his progeny and grandprogeny, and the rumors from the Authority last night hinted of the two of them finding their mate, likely making them even more intense. He shuddered at the thought.

He had met Eric Northman the night he woke up for the first time as a vampire. His newborn maker had "foolishly" turned him at such a young age. While he hadn't understood then, he did now that he was a century old. The Viking could have a temper if pushed and then most likely you were ended. The scary part is as his great-grandmaker is the head of the bloodline, the Authority wouldn't be able to say anything or do anything if they decided to end him. He hoped it wouldn't come to that. He hoped his maker had an explanation that could satisfy his wonder as to why she would abandon him. Maybe she didn't see it that way. He hoped it was just the newborn status she held then and would want to rekindle their bond.

Back in Shreveport

The computer beeped, signaling a new e-mail. I opened it, reading the message. I looked up at Pam.

"It seems your young progeny is coming for a visit tomorrow night. He'll be here around eight o'clock."

She nodded before standing up and leaving the room. After checking a few more things and filling a few papers out I closed everything and decided to check on Godric and Bella. They were in the kitchen, and Bella was eating pancakes with chocolate inside and strawberries to the side. When I walked in, she looked up and smiled.

"Hello, our Bella." She blushed at the comment, and I felt a thrill go through Godric and me at the term our Bella.

"Hi; you're back," she said with a smile.

Godric and I chuckled. "Yeah, I'm back." I looked at Godric. "Did you hear when he was coming?"

"No, I stopped listening after you said who it was," he answered.

"Eight o'clock tomorrow night. How do you think he'll react to Pam?" I asked curiously.

He thought for a moment. "Well, she never released him, so there is still a bond between the two, though there must be some resentment. He could possibly be happy to see her or he could possibly try and take revenge."

I growled lowly at the thought of him trying to harm Pam.

"Who's he? Why would he want to 'take revenge' on Pam?" Bella asked.

I thought for a moment before I heard the soft voice behind me answer Bella. "He is the vampire I turned a year after I was turned. His name is Colin Montgomery, and he is the new king of Louisiana. After nearly a year, I got bored and decided to leave him on his own." Godric and I both felt the disapproval, annoyance, and anger towards this still. "It is impossible to predict how he will react to seeing me again. He could take revenge on me or he could want to kiss and make up. Who knows? He was a sentimental, mushy thing."

Bella looked surprised, and Godric and I tensed as she stood up and walked towards Pam. When she got to her, Bella reached up and gave her a hug, which Pam awkwardly returned after the shock went away. We relaxed a little, but completely relaxed when Bella let go and backed up. She went back to eating. Pam disappeared a moment later, using vampire speed.

Bella continued eating with a thoughtful look on her face. "What does 'King of Louisiana' mean?"

I smirked and Godric smiled, both of us expecting this. Godric answered. "Vampires have their own political system. There are kings or queens for each state, sometimes more than one to a state if the state is large, like California. They control the Sheriffs of the state, like what Eric is. They do much more than that, but you'll learn about that later. No need to worry about specifics right now."

Bella nodded, but we all knew she would ask again.

After that, we all did what Bella called 'bonding', which was really just watching movies and playing games, even with Pam. I think she welcomed the distraction. Godric, Bella, and I slept the same way as we did last night. We also filled in Bella through the night little bits of what could happen tomorrow, like how she should act and speak when meet Colin.

Pam's POV!

The next night, nine forty-five

There were fifteen minutes until Colin arrived. Bella was dressed up in a red evening gown with black high heels. Her hair was up in a bun with tendrils of hair flowing around her face. A masterpiece if you ask me. Eric and Godric were in black suits with a white shirt underneath. I was in a pink evening dress with pink high heels. My hair was straightened, but pulled back into a ponytail. I was walking back and forth, not being able to stay in one place from anxiety about seeing Colin again. I think I was starting to get on Eric's nerves since I had been doing this for fifteen minutes already.

After five more minutes, Eric finally got tired of the pacing. "Sit down already."

I looked at him annoyed, since he knew how I was feeling about seeing him again. However, he simply forced me to, physically gripping me and putting me on the couch. I sighed, crossing my arms and legs. He just rolled his eyes. When the clock chimed it was ten o'clock, the doorbell rang, signaling the arrival of the vampire we were waiting for. Godric took Bella into his arms as Eric stood up, since she had been wrapped up in between them. A moment later, Eric came back in followed by three vampires. There were two guards who stayed near the doorway, so it was only the five of us in the room. We were all standing now.

Eric introduced Godric and Bella, telling about the mate status, before announcing my presence. I could tell there was some resentment in his eyes, but there was a lot of hope. I could only hope it wasn't the hope to kill me.

His hair was now short, but the same dirty blonde color. His eyes were the same crystal blue mixed with sea green. Of course, he had the same build of the farmer he was, muscles all over, now covered by the suit he was wearing.

After all the business parts were done, Godric keeping Bella entertained during this, he wanted to talk to me alone. He and I stayed in Eric's office, with only the threat of nothing to be broken or out of order as my maker left. The silence that filled the room was only for a short moment.

"I only have two questions that I need the answer to so I can figure out where to go from there. Why did you leave me?" he asked.

I could feel the bloody tears wanting to come, but I wouldn't go that far and let them. "I left because I got bored, but I know that was just the newborn idea of a shiny new toy. I'm really sorry about that. I was only a year old when I turned you, and wasn't ready for that kind of commitment. I didn't realize what I was doing then."

He looked at me, studying my face. "You never released me though. Why?"

I had to think. "I'm not sure. I knew that I probably should. Maybe deep down I didn't just in case something happened and you needed my help. I truly don't understand my reasoning for that."

He stared at me for a moment before nodding. "Okay."

With that he rushed towards me, stopping just in front of me. I didn't let on that it startled me some, not expecting it. I stood motionless, wondering if he was going to kill me.

The next moment, his lips were on mine in a passionate kiss. There were sparks all through my body. I briefly wondered if this is what Eric and Godric felt like with Bella. I started kissing back heatedly.

I heard Pam and Colin start to go at it… on my couch. I growled in annoyance. "Really? They couldn't take it to her room instead of fucking in my office on my couch?"

Godric started to chuckle slightly. Bella looked surprised. "I know you can feel this as well Eric. You know what that means."

I smiled happily. "I do. I'm extremely happy for her." My smile turned into a grimace. "I'd be even happier if they weren't on my couch but on her bed instead."

I heard a few chuckles, and not just Godric and Bella. I wondered if Pam was going to stay here with him or go with Colin now that they found each other again, especially if what we thought was true from the feelings emanating through the bond.

We occupied ourselves, with Bella eating after about another hour, until the two younger vampires came out. They had partially rearranged themselves to appear more in order than their previous state, for which Bella was glad. After a few pleasantries between us, Colin and his entourage left. Pam went to get changed, and the rest of us changed out of the more formal clothes as well.

The rest of the night was spent with the four of us having fun, playing games and watching movies. When Bella started to get sleepy, Pam announced that she would stay here for a while until everything was in order, then she would rejoin her progeny. They had just found out they were mates as well. After that, and a hug from Bella to Pam along with a few comments from us, we all went to get ready for bed. We stayed in the same position as we had the night before.

Everything was going well; hopefully it could all stay like this.

The next week flew by, going to Fangtasia most nights, having fun with Bella and Godric other nights. We all enjoyed time with Pam since she would be leaving soon. She had taken to showing Bella how to dress around vampires. Some things were absolutely perfect for everywhere except inside Fangtasia. Godric and I didn't want the others to see our mate like that since she was considered untouchable. Eight days after Colin came, the happiness was darkened.

That night, Bill Compton came into Fangtasia with Sookie Stackhouse. This is the first time I had seen the pathetic excuse of a vampire since Sophie Anne had been given the true death. I had the suspicion he was trying to control Sookie for the former child queen, but had no hard evidence. I had been hoping the Authority would have some and then give the order to have him destroyed. Not yet though. They approached the stage, gaining entrance into the roped off area and coming up the stairs to stop in front of the now four thrones on the stage. One had been added for Godric, who had taken Bella from my lap when Compton came in just in case.

"Eric," he said shortly.

"Bill; I see you have brought your pet with you." I sounded annoyed, which I was. He had the reaction I was hoping for, and I even felt amusement coming from Godric and Bella.

Bill pulled her protectively into his side, lowering his fangs. "She is mine!" He tried to sound threatening, but it just sounded weak and fake. She looked indignant and angry.

I smirked and chuckled. "I didn't question if she was, or try to claim her. I merely said you brought your pet. Now, unless you want to lose your fangs, put them away."

He reluctantly retracted them. "I came to ask if you had heard from Queen Sophie-Anne during the past week and a half. I have been unable to contact her regarding an important matter."

Every vampire in the bar laughed at him, including Godric, Pam, and I. Bella even laughed. He looked confused, which made it even better.

"What would be this important matter, Billy Boy?" I asked.

He hesitated, and awkwardly tried to avoid the question. "It does not concern you Eric."

I raised an eyebrow at him. "According to the laws, vampires living in the area report to the Sheriff, who reports to the state's ruler. It does concern me."

He sighed in defeat after a minute. "Sookie, would you please go to the bar and get something to drink? This involves vampire business."

I saw the concentrated look again and she didn't hesitate to agree before walking to the bar. He looked to Bella pointedly.

"Aren't you going to send her away?" Bill asked.

Godric and I stared at him surprised. "Bella is not leaving. The reason why is none of your concern," Godric stated firmly.

Bill nodded. "I have been given an assignment from the Queen that is not privy even to you. I need to report my progress to her. It is an extremely private matter which only must be discussed in a secret area between Her Majesty and me."

I smirked. I knew now why he was here and why he was so adamant about Sookie, and starting to be about Bella. "Well, sorry to disappoint you, Bill Compton," I started sarcastically, but took joy in delivering the news. "Sophie Anne was killed by the Magister for disgracing vampires, even being pulled from the protection of the rest of her bloodline, ten days ago."

Every vampire was looking at the show, especially his reaction. He was certainly surprised. It was comical; he was like a fish with its mouth open. He eventually recovered from the shock.

"You are making this up to trick me, aren't you? You're upset that you don't know all about the queen's affairs," Bill accused.

Everyone laughed at him, all the vampires in the room confirming the truth. No one here liked Bill Compton, except his pet that was under his influence.

Godric was the one to inform him of his stupidity. "Mr. Compton," he said, which directed the vampire's attention to the 2,000+ year old vampire in front of him. "Sophie Anne most certainly met the true death, and I am confirming this as the head of her bloodline."

All the vampires in the room aside from Pam and I were surprised when he said this, even bowing down before him since they knew about the connection between Sophie and the other rulers.

Bill decided to suck it up and kneeled down before us. "I apologize; I did not realize."

I rolled my eyes. "Well now you know."

Bella had a hard time not laughing and started to smirk. Pam appeared beside us, mentally asking if she should tell her about the new king and her relationship, including the mate part. She had already called her progeny, who gave his permission to end the vampire if he tried anything and agreed to tell everyone about their mating. I nodded, telling her to go ahead.

"Just so you know," her feminine voice startled him out of his thoughts, "the new king and I have a special relationship."

The former soldier opened his mouth then. "Was he one of your clients while you were a lady of the evening?" he asked, coming off as supposedly superior as though he didn't participate. He even smirked smugly while sending off waves of condescendence.

"Rather proud of yourself that wasn't your profession, aren't you, Compton? Especially since you quite literally indulged in her employees, draining them after playing with them; completely disregarding vampire law regarding exposure," I was rather happy to remind him of what led to me creating my own progeny.

His artificial air disappeared with the reminder, replaced by a glare. Oh, I would so be happy to rip his head off. Pam's anger was rising. I readied myself just in case, since Bill Compton was an older vampire. I warned Godric in my head, whom pulled Bella closer to him in a way that would allow for easy movement if the fight moved towards them. I also told him about what Colin told Pam about ending Compton. He agreed.

"Not hardly." She smirked broadly now, and I was proud of her for it. This is certainly the feisty girl I turned, which is always fun to be around. "Though you may not know, the year after I was turned, I created my own vampire by the name of Colin Montgomery. This vampire is also my mate."

I heard many gasps and murmurs from around the room at this statement. I then noted she still had the phone on in her back pocket, microphone side up so the other line could hear. My smirk became more pronounced as I heard a slight chuckle on the other side of the line, knowing what she was doing; it was the same thing Godric had done with Remus. Colin could hear everything he was saying.

"What does that have to do with anything?" Bill asked patronizingly.

Everyone started to laugh at him, except Sookie, who was standing there confused. "Oh, Billy Boy," I murmured amused.

"Colin Montgomery became the new king of Louisiana nine days ago," she informed him.

The pieces clicked in his mind and shock covered his face. Pam pulled out her phone and put it on speaker so everyone could hear, even Bella and Sookie.

"Okay, you are on speaker now," she let him know.

"Good," came the voice of Colin. "Also on the line besides myself is Roman and Nan."

"Yes, we're here," the deeper voice of Roman Zimojic, the Guardian of the Authority, spoke.

Bill now looked extremely afraid, as he should be. The Authority could deliver the sentence of the true death while he was still on the stage, and have Eric be the executioner.

"Roman, has the Authority heard the facts on the subject of Mr. Compton?" Godric asked.

"Yes, we have. We also found evidence of illegal acts he committed against vampire law in Sophie's monitoring systems. Because of this, his maker has been destroyed, killed by the king of the state she resided. Also, we are issuing the true death to Bill Compton for his treasonous and illicit behavior. The true death is to be delivered on site immediately by the Sheriff of Area 5," the Guardian decreed.

Eric smirked maniacally as Pam rushed to get a stake, and was back within two seconds. Eric took the stake from her and quickly flew Bill to the floor below the stage so Bella wouldn't get covered in blood as she eagerly watched on. I saw Pam in the corner of my eye turn the phone to recording the video through Skype, the other line being the Authority.

"No!" screamed Sookie, the vampire's pet. With a nod from Eric, a vampire grabbed onto her and held her back.

He turned back around to Bill and the happily drove the stake through his heart, turning his head afterwards to avoid the splash just in time. The audience erupted in joy and laughter, celebration filling the air. Along with that, a lone blonde girl started screaming and crying as the vampire let go of her and she sunk to her knees.

Even after what just happened, Bella still couldn't forgive Sookie, and never would I knew. However, she kissed Godric, who released her from his arms but kept extremely close as the vampires in the bar started to go wild with the blood in the air and the joy of being rid of Compton. I came closer to them as well, while Pam finished talking with the Authority and Colin. She leaned down to get her attention, as she was only staring at the former body of Compton. Once she did, Sookie reached over and hugged her tightly. Godric pulled her off, feeling the annoyance and uncomfortable feeling from Bella. Our mate asked Sookie how she got here, and she said Bill drove his car. Bella told her then she would call Jason to come and get her; she nodded and went back to staring at the bloody goo stack.

It only took a few minutes until Bill was cleaned off the floor. Everyone was more than happy to be rid of him. The vampires all helped to make it go faster. They returned to partying. Sookie eventually got up off the floor and went to sit at one of the tables. After an hour or so since Bella called, Jason showed up. Bella was happy and feeling great; she even had a real drink. We figured she could use the chance to have fun like a normal human teenager for once; we didn't know when we would turn her yet.

"Hey, Bella," he called once he arrived at the stage. "Quite a party you've got going. What's the occasion?" He looked over to me. "Hey, Eric; nice to see you again." He nodded at me, and I nodded back.

"Bill Compton was staked," she answered.

He looked surprised yet delightfully so. "Seriously?" He looked to me for confirmation, which I gave. "Awesome!" He did a fist pump like thing.

Bella smiled and laughed. "Yeah, everyone saw it too. Eric is the one who killed him."

Jason's eyes lit up. "Dude, that is so cool! High five!" He held up is hand. I just stared at him.

Bella rolled her eyes. "You're supposed to hold up your hand, Eric."

Understanding came into my head, and just to make Bella happy, I held up my hand, which her cousin proceeded to hit. Bella smiled. I didn't understand the action, but it made Bella happy. I did notice her cousin started shaking his hand and flexing his fingers, likely the result of the strength of vampire skin.

"So, while everyone saw him staked, so did Sookie." Jason looked surprised, and realized why he was here likely. "She isn't in the position to drive, and I know you and Aunt Adele care about her, so I called you to drive her back. She came with Bill."

He nodded. "Thanks, Bella." He bit his lip in hesitation. "By that, I'm guessing you don't care too much about Sook?"

She shook her head. "Not after what she's done to me. Sorry, Jason."

He nodded his head. "I understand. I hope I can see you soon though."

She smiled. "Well, you can always come here. I'm here most nights."

He smiled back. "I will; okay, where's Sook?"

I pointed to the table and he nodded and walked towards her after hugging Bella. They were gone soon after. Bella ended up drinking three drinks, and had gotten more than tipsy. It was quite funny actually. Well, Godric, Pam, and I thought it was hilarious. Her clumsiness came back with the alcohol, though. Once we were ready, we all headed home. On the way, Pam told us about what the Authority found.

"So, while sifting through the massive amounts, which they have finally gone through all of it, they discovered Bill Compton had been on an assignment for Sophie Anne to lure Sookie Stackhouse into his grasp with whatever means necessary and then bring her back to New Orleans. She assumed Sookie was a creature that is held to myths, even by us vampires and supernatural creatures. The idea she had was written off as just superstitious thoughts brought on by her naivety," Pam explained.

"What did she think Sookie was?" I asked.

"A faery."

Bella started laughing at the idea. Godric and I knew otherwise. Was it possible Sookie Stackhouse was part faery? She was telepathic and couldn't be glamoured. Yes, it was possible. Not that it particularly matter to any of us.

That night, drunk Bella, Godric, and I got acquainted with each other very well.
