Back in Mystic Falls…

"Tell me brother, what happened to Lyra? You seem to be half way up Mother's ass lately so I figured you'd be the one to know." Klaus sneered at Finn as he walked into the study. It was just the two of them, an opportune moment for Klaus to question his oldest brother without the influence of their mother.

"I'm not sure what you speak of. Lyra probably got sick of all this bickering that goes on between us and left. I don't blame her." Finn turned away from his brother and made for the door. Klaus wasn't done with him though, he cornered Finn for answers, not to be treated as gum under his shoe. The hybrid grabbed his brother by the neck and pushed him against the wall.

"I don't believe you. You know something, now tell me or I'll make you, brother."

"You can't make me do anything, especially not by yourself." Finn gripped the hand that held him by the neck and pulled it off.

"No, but our other siblings are wondering where dear Lyra is as well and they are just as willing to do what's necessary to get her back. Especially Kol, I'm sure he's missing his twin and just itching to torture someone." Finn sighed and bowed his head in exasperation.

"I know nothing. Mother has plans that even she won't share with me."

Lyra was once again stuck behind the bar at Gloria's, she wasn't in the best mood tonight, so thankfully the bar wasn't packed. It was only the usual's and a few stragglers out. There wasn't a band tonight, it was a weekday and Gloria only booked on weekends.

She didn't volunteer for this shift but it was part of Gloria's conditions. The old witch had gone out tonight to gather some ingredients for a spell, a spell that would hopefully find Lyra a way back home. She was hoping that Gloria new what she was doing, after all she found herself a spell to bring her here in the first place. Now, as they were both hoping, all she had to do was reverse it.

Lyra wanted to get home, she could feel that her other siblings were awake and she could only imagine what their mother had planned for them. She wanted to get back to them, they made a promise a thousand years ago and she was looking to keep it. Always and Forever.

When she heard that Mikael was gone, she had wanted to be free, to be on her own in the world and to enjoy the independence. But she had planned to return after she had some fun, that how it always worked. One of them would leave for a while and revel in the freedom, then, an ache would awaken, calling for those who truly understood them—calling them home.

Lyra felt that ache now, especially in this foreign land. She had tried to have some fun here but it ended with her being followed, so after that experience she wanted to be home where she was familiar and where no one dared challenge her. She thought that she could adapt but she was feeling the constant pressure to hide what she was and it was becoming increasingly difficult every time she ached for blood. Lyra wanted to be home and with her family.

The depressing thoughts running through her mind had her clutching the pendant that hung from her neck. It was a gift from Kol from when they were learning how to perfect their magic, when they were younger—before their curse—her and Kol were witch prodigies after all.

Their mother was amazed at what they could accomplish when they channeled each other, it was the kind of witchery that only twins could do. They shared a bond and with the pendant they amplified it. The necklace was how she knew her siblings were awake, not long after she arrived here she felt the dull ache in her heart being lifted and the power of her family surging. It was Kol and her other siblings being undaggered.

Lyra was interrupted from her thoughts when the door to the bar creaked open and in walked the vampire Godric.

Great.

She wasn't in the mood to deal with any vampires right now but she promised Gloria that she'd be a 'good little bartender' tonight.

"Godric, right?" She asked as he sat himself at the bar. He smiled and nodded.

"How are you tonight, Lyra?"

"I've been better but I'll get over it. Always do." She shrugs as she hands him a tru blood.

"Are you not well?"

"No, I'm just planning my trip home. I haven't been gone long but I am very eager to get back."

"Ah, yes I do recall you saying that you were here visiting a friend. If you don't mind me asking, where is home for you? Your accent is very difficult to pinpoint."

"Honestly, nowhere specific really, just where ever my family is." Lyra's hand unconsciously brushed up against the pendant.

Godric noticed the motion and examines the jewelry around her throat. "That is a beautiful pendant you have there. It seems to be very ancient, I believe I saw something similar during my time with the Vikings about 1,000 years ago."

"Really? This was a gift from my twin brother, Kol."

"You have a twin? That is quite interesting, I hear it twins share a particular bond. One that transcends most logic."

"Hm. I can't say it transcends logic, we just understand each other on a level that most people don't understand." Godric digests her comments and gets quiet, swirling his tru blood around but not drinking any.

Lyra moved away from the vampire and started wiping down some glasses, trying to decipher the reason behind his newfound interest in her. She wondered if he was onto her or if he was simply looking for his next meal.

"Tell me, Lyra. Would you like to get a drink sometime? I would like to get to know you more." Lyra was shocked. Never had she expected those words to come out of his mouth. "That is the customary activity to invite people to when you wish to become your friends, correct?" Lyra smiled, oddly charmed by his ignorance.

"Yes, it is. Since you asked so kindly I'm sure one drink won't hurt. Not here though, I'm starting to get real sick of this place." Lyra could clearly sense that Godric was a powerful vampire and to skip an opportunity like this could bring unforeseen consequences. Agreeing to go would at least let her have some control over the situation.

"I will let you choose the spot then." Godric smiled and placed some money on the bar, way more than he owed for his drink. "Keep the change. I'll meet you here Friday night." With that he walked out of the door and was gone.

Not much of a talker.
