A.N. The following is a nonprofit fan fiction. I do not owe any of these characters, or the stories they originate from. Please support the official release.

So before starting the next chapter, I'm gonna be answering some reviews.

From SonikNaoko

That went dark super fast... But, I love it! I have never seen Primal before... But, with this I might go see this show now.

Pochawhompa: ...Aww, poor Archanine and Rebecca! I feel for them.

Shuga: Mmm... I hope something good comes for them.

I hope you do. Primal is one of the best animated series of all times. It holds nothing back. And like the show, this fic takes place in a dark and unforgiving world, and the first chapter is suppose to let you all know that. The story is mainly about our main characters surviving in this cruel world. That's not to say there won't be any comedic moments.

From JP-Ryder

Man, that's dark. Great to have this being more action and not dialogue heavy. This is going to be an interesting story.

Thank you. Glad you like it. And I am going for more action than dialogue, even though in the show there is no dialogue. But this fic isn't a faithful parody of the cannon. It's just a fun fanfic for my own amusement.

From Darkness Rissing

lol sexy cave-girl and a pokemon with a lot of comedy/sexy situations while also adding some action/drama with a survival story?

ok i like how this sound already

Glad to hear that. And I hope you'll this next chapter as well.

Summary for the chapter: Arcanine starts treating Rebecca as his cub as a way of coping with the loss of his family, much to her disturbance. Meanwhile, a vicious predator is stalking them.

It's been three days since Rebecca and Arcanine formed a pack. During that time, they've traveled across the lands, leaving their old homes behind. It was morning, and Rebecca was sleeping quietly. But then she's rudely awoken when a dead animal is dropped before her.

"What?!" She cried as she jumped. She saw a dead rabbit before her, and then looked up at Arcanine, as he had brought her breakfast. "T-thanks, Arcanine." She said, awkwardly, and took the rabbit.

She piles up some woods and begins scrapping two rocks together, making sparks, in attempt to start a fire. But then Arcanine walks up to her and spews fire onto the woods, starting a fire instead.

Rebecca looks at Arcanine with an annoyed expression and tells him, "Thanks, but I could've started the fire myself." She told him. Normally, she would be more grateful. But he's been doing this for days now. "Seriously. You've been babying me for the last few days now. You bring me food and starts fire for me. I'm not ungrateful. But I need to take care of myself. And you gotta let me do so." She told him, but Arcanine just laid there, looking at her. He rested his head on his front legs.

As the day went on, the two continued walking. They had no particular destination. They were just traveling the lands, surviving however they could in this unforgiving world. They found a watering hole, but strangely enough, no animals.

"Odd," Rebecca said. "Where're all the animals?" She wondered.

Arcanine didn't think much of it and went over to drink. He may spew fire. But he's still a creature of flesh and blood and therefore needs water to survive, like any other animal. Rebecca follows his lead and bends down, taking water into the palms of her hand, and brought it up to her mouth, cleansing her thirst.

THOMB

Rebecca's eyes widen when she felt the ground shake. She grabbed Arcanine's shoulder, "Did you feel that?" She whispered. They looked at the water when they heard about thomb, and the water formed ripples. Rebecca stood back up and looked around, spear in hand, as did Arcanine. The thomping was getting louder as whatever made it was getting closer. They heard the trees being ripped and saw the branches being torn aside, and out of the jungle came a terrifying sight.

There stood the biggest T-Rex anyone had ever seen. A green hulking monster with blood red eyes and a mouth full of razor sharp teeth. Rebecca's eyes widen in horror. Not just out of fear. But out of recognition. The T-Rex roared at his next meal, and Arcanine sneered at it, standing protectively in front of Rebecca, but she pulled his tail.

"Don't fight him! Run!" She cried, much to Arcanine's confusion. After all, they defeated a bunch of giant predators just a few days ago. But he did as she told him, and the T-Rex gave chase.

They found a rock wall with many tunnels and went inside, avoiding the T-Rex for now. Rebecca panted heavily. Not because she was winded. But because she was scared. Arcanine looked concerned, and she started to explain.

"That thing out there is no ordinary carnivore. My people have had a run in with him in the past. I saw him crush rocks with his teeth. He single handily killed an entire herd of long necks. Creatures ten times his bodyweight. He's unnatural in every way. My people call him Sharptooth as a result." She told Arcanine.

Suddenly, Sharptooth's snout peered inside, right next to the due, trying to sniff them out. Rebecca gestured Arcanine to follow her. They quietly snuck through the caverns. Light shinned through the wholes, which were then overshadowed as Sharptooth passed by, stalking his prey. They made it to the other edge of the wall, carefully peering their heads out, looking around for any sign of their stalker. They carefully tip toed back into the jungle.

"Go," Rebecca quietly told Arcanine.

They went past the thick trees and for a moment it looked like they were gonna get away. But then …

CRASH!

Sharptooth smashed through the trees, turning them into splinters, roaring as he went after them. Rebecca let out a cry, and Arcanine spewed fire at the T-Rex. When the flames died down however, Sharptooth looked like he was okay. No burn marks. He only looked annoyed.

"What'd I tell you?! RUN!" Rebecca cried and the two sprinted into the jungle, hopping the trees would slow the predator down.

Sharptooth however was like a juggernaut. These trees were not big enough to slow him down. He caught up with Rebecca and almost made her his next meal, had not Arcanine jumped onto his snout and bite hard. Sharptooth roared and started shaking, hard, until at least he shook the canine of off him, sending him flying into the forest. Rebecca watched her new companion fly, with worry, then back at Sharptooth who kept coming after her. She sprinted through the thick vegetation as best she could, narrowly avoiding every bite Sharptooth threw at her. Eventually she ran through two very large trees, which were at the center of a hill. Sharptooth pursuit got him stuck between the trees and he began to struggle to get lose. Rebecca began climbing the hill, but it was very steep. Sharptooth got lose and continued the hunt. It was harder for his seven ton body to scale such a steep climb, and Rebecca began sliding due to the rock and dirt giving way.

"Oh, no, no, no!" She said as she looked behind her.

Sharptooth jerked and thrust, biting at Rebecca in an attempt to grab her. Rebecca saw no other option than to jump onto his head, and she sunk her spear into his right eye. The mighty T-Rex roared in pain and shook Rebecca of, making her fly into a grass field, where she rolled a little. Now, with one eye permanently damaged and bleeding, Sharptooth was out for more than just food. Now he wanted revenge. Rebecca staggered a little, feeling dizzy from the fall. This was fatal, as Sharptooth sprinted at her, about to devour her. Rebecca thought she was about to join her family. But then …

SNATCH

Sharptooth only bit a little grass, as Arcanine returned and picked Rebecca up by biting onto her fur bikini bottoms and ran as quickly as he could. The girl looked confused and surprised, but at least she didn't get eaten. But then Sharptooth actually jumped into the air, which shouldn't be physically possible for a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

"LOOK OUT!" Rebecca shouted, causing Arcanine to look behind him, and was shocked to see the massive predator descend upon them from the sky.

The canine jumped to the side, narrowly avoiding getting stomped. Sharptooth nearly bit Arcanine's tail, but the latter avoided the bite by a hair. Sharptooth gave chase as Arcanine ran back into the jungle, where the trees would make it impossible for him to jump. Branches, bushes and leaves hit Rebecca as Arcanine ran with her still dangling from his mouth. Sharptooth smashed through a thick branch Arcanine ran under and crushed a log the canine jumped over. Sharptooth roared at the duo, growing ever angrier. Finally, Arcanine was able to find a dirt road and pick up pace. Sharptooth may be fast. But Arcanines are among the fastest beings on the planet, and Sharptooth ended up only eating his dust, forcing him to give up the chase. Sharptooth roared in frustration and began destroying everything in sight in his anger.

Arcanine ran for several more minutes, making sure to cover a great distance between them and Sharptooth. And throughout this whole trip, Rebecca was still hanging from his mouth by her loincloth, which was starting to feel really uncomfortable.

"Okay, I think we're safe here." She said, wincing from the pain. "Now please stop and put me down. This is humiliating." She whined. Arcanine slowed down, then stopped and gently put Rebecca back down. The pinkette repositioned her bottoms, which were riling up her ass. "Thanks for the rescue," She said to him, sincerely, and he licked he cheek. "There's a good boy." She said before getting up on her feet. "We better keep on moving. Predators that big has a huge hunting ground. We're in his territory. So he'll keep coming for us. My tribe did the same mistake once, and he killed half of us, before we moved to another location. That's how I know of him." She said and began walking, and Arcanine followed.

It was late noon, and the duo had been walking all day, trying to get as far away from Sharptooth country as possible. But now their stomachs were growling. Not surprising. They've only had one measly rabbit for breakfast. They've been keeping an eye out for any game as they traveled. Rebecca found a few fruits along the way. But fruits aren't enough to keep you full for long. And Arcanine is a carnivore. His kind was made to eat meat.

And it looked like they were about to get it. They found a boar digging up some roots with its tusks. Rebecca smiled, and hunched down in the bushes, carefully sneaking up on it. But Arcanine beat her to it, much to her surprise. The boar noticed the canine too late, as Arcanine grabbed it with his mouth. He shakes his head, ripping and tearing at the boar's flesh and snapping its spine, killing it. Rebecca stands up and looks annoyed at her canine companion, who carried the kill over to her and dropped it before her feet. Now she looked confused.

"What is it with you?" She asked. "You bring me food as if I can't do it on my own. Sure, my last hunt didn't go very well. I can still catch smaller animals, like birds, fish and rodents. But I'll never be able to learn how to hunt larger prey of you keep doing the hunting for the both of us." She told him.

Arcanine didn't seem to listen. He just lowered his snout and pushed the dead boar further over to her. Rebecca sighed in defeat. Later as night fell, she was roasting one of the boar's legs over a fire. Enough to fill her stomach. Meanwhile, Arcanine was eating the rest of the beast. His kind has been designed to eat anything on a carcass. Even the teeth. Soon, there was nothing left of the boar, except for the blood on the ground, and the leg roasting over the fire. Deciding it was finished, Rebecca took the leg and began eating. As she ate, she looked upon the fire and thought back to when she was a small child.

Her father was showing her how to make a fire, using whatever tools nature could provide for. Like rocks. Not just any rocks though. Specific rocks that will spark when you scrap them together. And when you don't have access to that, you'll have to resort to sticks. It took Rebecca many hours, and she got a bunch of blisters on her palms. But she never gave up. She kept trying and trying until finally she started a fire. She giggled with excitement, and looked up at her father, who was smiling proudly down at her.

Cut back to the present, a tear fell from Rebecca's eye while slowly chewing the meat.

By the next day, the two continued their journey, keeping a lookout for any potential prey. These lands however had prey much too large for them to kill. Enormous sauropods, like Apatosaurus. Other animals were smaller, but heavily armored. Like the stegosaurus and the ankylosaurus. Terrifying herbivores with strong defense and offense. The duo knew better than to get too close, and kept their distance, walking by. Still, the herbivores kept a close eye on them.

Rebecca finally saw something small enough for them to tackle. A flock of Dryosaurus. 8 foot long dinosaurs. Small, but that made them very, very quick. Rebecca has no chance of catching up to one of these if they spot her. But Arcanine does. To her shock, he once again sprints after the prey, and the Dryosaurus all sprint away with lightning speed. But Arcanine is able to keep up. And an elderly Dryosaurus falls behind. Arcanine bites its tail and pulls it to the ground. The dinosaur starts kicking and thrashing its legs and arms at him to defend itself. But Arcanine pins the legs with his paws and bites of an arm, making the poor Dryosaurus cry in pain. Arcanine then bites the neck and rips the head of. He howls over his catch, and begins carrying the meal back to Rebecca, but she's already caught up. Once again, Arcanine dropped the catch of the day before Rebecca's feet, and she was starting to loss her patience.

By the next day, Rebecca was by the river, spear fishing. She stood on a rock in the middle of the river, patiently waiting for the fish to come to her, striking at the right moment. She caught another fish and added it to her collection. About seven fishes so far. She readied herself for another catch. Suddenly, a crocodile like creature leaped from the water, about to make Rebecca its next meal. Rebecca jumped out of the jaws of death in the nick of time, into the water and swam to shore. The beast was on hot pursuit however. Once it came out of the water, it was on full view.

The creature was two legged and really big. It had blue scales and a yellow V shaped marking on the lower belly and yellow lower jaw, with red spikes going down its spine. This was a Feraligatr. A mighty predator. And Rebecca was unfortunate enough to tread into its territory. Feraligatr roared and was about to attack Rebecca again, when suddenly, Arcanine appeared behind it, biting its shoulder. The beast started jerking and thrusting, while blood gushed out of the shoulder where Arcanine kept biting. Feraligatr rammed its back up a tree, hard, causing it to crack, and for Arcanine to let go. The now furious predator whacked Arcanine with its tail, sending him flying. Arcanine landed graceful, despite taking such a heavy hit. Then the Feraligatr opened its mouth and shot water at him. This was the monster's special power. Like how Arcanine can spew fire, a Feraligatr can shoot water. Highly pressurized water than destroyed the trees behind Arcanine when he dodged.

Rebecca then rushed the Feraligatr and stabbed it in the leg. Feraligatr roared in pain and turned to try and bite Rebecca, but she kept her distance, trying to pry her spear lose. But she had stabbed too deep and couldn't get it off. This only hurt the Feraligatr more, making it angrier. It kept trying to bite Rebecca, but she kept her distance, avoiding those teeth by inches, making the two circle around. it then throw it's clawed hand at her, slashing her leg, leaving three scars on her right thigh. She winced in pain. But all of a sudden, Arcanine ran up to Rebecca, bit her bottoms and hoist her up.

"Hey! What're you doing!?" Rebecca spat as she was forced to let go when Arcanine carried her away.

Gently Arcanine put Rebecca down, before springing into action again. Rebecca stood back up, trying to process what was going on. Arcanine was purposely keeping her from fighting. The Feraligatr tried shooting water at Arcanine again, but this time the canine bit its snout, shutting its mouth. He tore and ripped the snout, leaving some nasty marks on its face. Unwilling to continue fighting, the Feraligatr retreats back into the water, with Rebecca's spear still stuck in its leg. This made Rebecca even more furious.

She ran up to Arcanine and pushed him, which surprised him, but then he sneered at her. "What is it with you?!" She demanded to know. "Why'd you do that?! You've seen me take on those giant predators before! You know I'm a capable fighter! So why did you keep me from helping you?!" She spat. "And now, because of it, my spear is lost. My only weapon. Do you have any idea how long it takes to make a new one?" She furiously asked, but Arcanine didn't give her much attention. He just turned around, feeling as if she was being an ingrate.

Rebecca went back to the rock in the water to retrieve the fish. Once she came back, she glared at Arcanine as she held up the fish and told him, "Don't think I'm gonna be sharing these with you now." But Arcanine only huffed.

Later that evening, after Rebecca finished eating all the fish, there were bones scattered around the campfire. She looked at the wound on her thigh. Due to the moist in the air, the wound had hardly closed up. Arcanine then came back and licked the wound. Rebecca however pushed him away.

"Stop that," She told him. "It won't help. But I know something that will." She said as she got up and went into the jungle. She then returned a few minutes later with some herbs that she put on a flat rock, and used another rock to mush the herbs. She had another flashback.

She was very little, and she was crying, as she had a wound on her knee. Her mother was sitting beside her, grinding up the same herbs, then pasted some of it onto Rebecca's leg, making her wince in pain.

"I know it hurts," Her mother said. "But it'll keep the wound from being infected." She told her with a sweet smile, and Rebecca wiped her tears, putting on a brave face. Her mother patted her head and said, "That's my girl."

The flashback ends, as Rebecca pasted the mashed up herbs onto her wounds, but this time she didn't wince. Not even a little. She had toughened up quite a bit since she was a child. In fact, in this cruel world, she's had to grow up fast.

Morning came, and a bunch of Brachiosaurus was enjoying their breakfast, eating from the tree tops, having a rather peaceful morning. But then…

"AAAAAAH!"

All heads turned in the direction of the noise in the distance.

About a quarter of a mile away, the source of the noise could be seen struggling in the grasps of a giant canine. Arcanine had Rebecca in his paws, as he was … licking her. Or rather, he was bathing her. Rebecca laughed uncontrollably, trying to break free. But the tickling made her weak, and Arcanine was way stronger than her anyhow. He licked her back, removing any dirt. Same with her legs. From the thighs, down to her calves and to her feet. And that's when the tickling was brought up to a maximum. This went on for several minutes until Rebecca was cleaned from any dirt. But now she was covered in Arcanine's slimy drool. Now she was mad.

"What is wrong with you!?" She spat, furiously, and Arcanine actually hunched a little, as he was growing a bit scared from how angry Rebecca had become. "You've taken it too far! If it was just catching food, I wouldn't mind it too much! If it was just keeping me from helping you fight of other predators, I'd be more annoyed about it! But with this piled onto all of that! There are just some lines that need to stay uncrossed! Why are you treating me like this?! Why do you think I'm some kind of … of … of a baby!?" She demanded, but then it dawned on her. He has been treating her like his pup this whole time.

Rebecca backed up against a tree and slide down, looking incredulous. Arcanine walked over to her, looking mighty concerned. But then she snapped when he got too close. "Don't touch me!" She spat, and stood back up. "I finally realize what's going on. This is you coping with your loss. That's what I am to you. A replacement. A pup to fill that void for you." She said, accusingly pointing her finger at him. And he was looking distraught about what she was telling him. "Listen," She sternly told him. "I cannot replace the family you've lost, no more than you can replace mine. I've accepted that my family is gone, and they're not coming back. You have to do the same. This, what you're doing with me, is not healthy. Accept reality. Your mate, your pups … they're never coming back. And until you accept that, we're better of going our separate ways. This pack was a mistake." She said and then stormed off.

Arcanine watched in hurt and horror as she was leaving. He whimpered as he tried to follow her. "NO!" She spat, spinning around. "You stay!" She told him, and he lay down, looking petrified at her. Rebecca turned and continued walking away. Arcanine put his paw on his eyes and began crying. Smooth move. He had just chased away the only person who wanted anything to do with him.

But then he shot his head back up. Wallowing in self pity isn't going to help. He had to make amends for his mistakes. He turned and rushed back to the swamps.

Rebecca had found a lake, where she stripped naked and washed of the slime of her body. "What is with that dog?" She asked in annoyance. "And why am I talking to myself?!"

Rebecca got out of the water and put her furkini back on. She then went on walking … all by herself. After a while, she found a rock to lean on as she sat down, bringing her knees up to her chin, hugging her legs. "Maybe I was too harsh on him." She lamented, looking sad. She closed her eyes, thinking about what she's done.

THOMB

Her eyes shot wide open at that familiar sound, and shake. She slowly turned her head to a puddle next to her.

THOMB

Ripples formed in the water.

THOMB

Rebecca carefully stood back up, looking around her.

THOMB

The sound was getting closer, and the shaking increased.

THOMB

She couldn't tell where it was coming from.

THOMB

Rebecca saw something that might save her. A hollow tree.

THOMB

She quickly jumped in.

THOMB

And in the nick of time to, because whatever was approaching just came out of the bushes. Rebecca could hear growling and sniffing. She saw a large shadow loom outside. She paled, held her breath, sweating and was looking downright petrified. After a few minutes, the predators just … left? It went back into the jungle, as the sound of the footsteps decreased. Rebecca carefully peered her head outside the tree, looking around for any sign of the beast. She went outside, sighing with relief. But when she turned around …

"RAAAAAWW!"

Sharptooth roared with into Rebecca's face. He had found her.

A few miles away, Arcanine was searching the swamp where he had the fight with the Feraligatr yesterday. He sniffs the area. But the stench of the swamp makes it impossible to pick up a trail. He hears a sickening crunching. He follows the noise and actually finds what he was looking for. The Feraligatr from yesterday. It was dead. Most likely it died from the wounds Arcanine inflicted on it. And now it was being devoured by small carnivore dinosaurs. And still piercing its leg was what he was looking for. Rebecca's spear. He ran over to the carcass and chased away the scavengers. He grabbed the spear with his mouth and started to pull, and yanked it out in a single move. Satisfied, he ran back to try and find Rebecca.

It wasn't that hard for Arcanine to track down Rebecca. Not only does each being in the world have a different scent. But she's also the only human in this area. He ran across the field he last saw Rebecca, but then stopped all of a sudden. He looked down when he saw a massive three toed footprint, belonging to a large theropod.

"AAAAAAH!"

Arcanine heard Rebecca scream. Even though he was quite far away, he could still hear her. Canine ears. He dropped the spear and sprinted towards her location, looking terrified and desperate. He ran faster than he believes he's ever gone. He's lost everything already. He's not about to lose what little he has left. He ran into the jungle, pushing through the bushes, until he heard a commotion. He heard a familiar roar, followed by Rebecca's screams. He jumped out of some bushes and saw Rebecca dodging the bites of Sharptooth. She stood underneath him, avoiding being stomped, as well as avoiding his mouthful of razor sharp teeth. Rebecca pressed up against a large tree trunk, and narrowly avoided another bite from the tyrannosaurus. He took a huge bite form the tree trunk, showing his bite force was immensely powerful. Sharptooth spit out the splintered woods, and shot his head back at Rebecca, opening his mouth as she leaped forward. Instead of a cavegirl, however, Sharptooth's mouth got filled with a fireball. Arcanine saw an opening and spewed fire into Sharptooth's gap, temporarily stunning him. The T-Rex spat and growled in pain. Rebecca, who was on the ground on all four, looked up and saw her companion had returned.

Arcanine wasted no time as he sprinted up to Rebecca and once again bit her bikini bottoms and ran. Sharptooth however was more furious than ever. He shot his head at the canine, and nearly took a bite on Arcanine's leg, but merely graced it. Arcanine winced in pain, as Sharptooth teeth had caused a gash on his leg. He continued running however, attempting to get Rebecca to safety. But this time was different. His leg was now injured. So he couldn't run as fast as last time. And Sharptooth could now keep up. Rebecca realized this and desperately looked around her. She saw on top of a cliff a fallen tree, which connected with another cliff.

"Run up to that cliff!" She told Arcanine. "I have an idea." She said, and Arcanine did as told. Between the two of them, she's the brain of this group, and it would be wise to listen to her. "Try and get me onto your back. We're going to need your fire." She told him. So Arcanine jerked his head back, which caused Rebecca to spin in the air a little, before landing on the canine's back. "Nice move," She said with wide eyes.

The two made it to the fallen tree, and Arcanine ran towards it, with Sharptooth just 50 feet away. And he was catching up. They crossed the makeshift bridge, and Rebecca told him to stop. He wondered if she was crazy, but she told him, "As soon as he's on the log, spew fire on it!" She told him, and now he understood what the plan was. The log was rather big. Large enough to support something as big as a T-Rex. This might work. Or it would've if Sharptooth had jumped over the gap. "Are you kidding me?!" Rebecca spat, and Arcanine sprinted back onto the log. Sharptooth followed, trying to bite them, but hit the log instead. Rebecca thought quickly. "NOW! Spew fire at it!" She told Arcanine, and the canine spat fire where Sharptooth had bitten, forcing the T-Rex to back a little. That one step back caused the log to cave a little. "Go! Get of the log!" She spat and Arcanine sprinted back to the edge, with Sharptooth hot on their tail. But the log split in half, right where it had been weakened. Arcanine jumped, landing on the edge, clinging on for dear life. As for Sharptooth, he roared as he fell into the abyss.

Arcanine kicked his hind legs, as he desperately tried to get up off the cliff. Rebecca jumped of off him, and began pulling him, using all her might. With a mighty leap and a good pull, Arcanine got out of the side of the cliff, and landed on top of Rebecca. He laid there, panting heavily, until her heard, "Get of off me!" Rebecca said, her voice muffled, as she was directly under the fuzzy canine. Arcanine jumped, and Rebecca panted heavily. She sat up, and Arcanine licked her cheek.

"I'm alright, boy." She told him. "I'm alright." She repeated then looked into his eyes. "Look," She started. "I can never replace the family you lost, no more than you can replace mine. You have to accept that, as I have. But that doesn't mean I don't need you. You've saved me many times already. I don't know how many times I've been dead if it wasn't for you." She said, patting his cheek. "But I'm not a helpless pup. I can hunt and fight. I definitely can clean myself." She added, and Arcanine looked down in embarrassment. "But how about in the future, we work as a pack, rather than a father and child?" She suggested, and Arcanine nodded with a smile. Suddenly, the dog winced, and Rebecca remembers he got injured. "You're wounded!" She said with worry.

Later, Rebecca was greasing Arcanine's wounded leg with the same mashed herbs from before. Arcanine winces. "I know it stings, boy. But it'll help." Rebecca told him, comfortingly. "Predators, like Sharptooth, have very infectious bites. Without these herbs you would die in a matter of days." She said, and then smiled at him. "So you see, as much as I need you, you need me just as much." She told him, and Arcanine returned the smile. Rebecca turned around and went over to a pond to wash of the herbs on her hands. "Now I'll need get started on making another spear." She said, and Arcanine's eye snapped as he remembered.

He rushed over to Rebecca and once again bit her bottoms, hoisting her up, making her cry out in surprise. She then just looked like 'Oh geese. Here we go again.'

Several minutes later, they were at where Arcanine had dropped Rebecca's spear. He gently put her down, and Rebecca's eyes widen, before picking up her spear. She turned around to look at Arcanine, who was looking apologetically at her. Rebecca however gave him a grateful smile.

A few days later, Arcanine is seen chasing a flock of Gallimimus. They scurried, sprinting at great speed. Arcanine's leg hadn't fully healed, and had trouble keeping up. But his intention wasn't to catch one of them. It was to lead them into a trap. He chased them towards a log, where Rebecca had been waiting. She pierced the first one that jumped over the log, shoving the spear through its chest.

Later that night, they are roasting the Gallimimus over a fire, and Rebecca looks over Arcanine's wound. "It looks much better. You'll be outrunning your prey in no time." She said, assuringly. She went over to the fire and cut some of the meat that was ready. She tossed a chunk of it into Arcanine's mouth, and took one for herself. She looked up at the full moon, where she saw reflections of both her parents form, smiling down at her. She looked surprised, but then smiled back at them. She then looked at Arcanine, who was resting his head, and smiled. She knew there was a great deal of hardship ahead. But it didn't worry her. Because she wasn't going to face them alone. She looked back up to the moon, and was surprised when her parents were gone. She formed a sad smile as she looked down on the fire. Her family was gone. But at least she wasn't alone.

At the bottom of the abyss where Rebecca and Arcanine had their final battle with Sharptooth, the latter is seen lying motionless on his back. He didn't seem to be alive. The scavengers began gathering around him. A pack of direwolves. They carefully approached him, sniffing him. Sure, he stinks, but that didn't necessarily mean he's dead. One youngster jump up onto Sharptooth's belly, and began munching on. The others followed and began biting onto his flesh … and then his good eye shot wide open. He growled and bite onto the direwolf on his belly, making it cry out in pain. The others scattered and ran, while Sharptooth devoured the youngster. He turned around and struggled to get back up. He growled, and thought back to the duo that sent him into near death. And lets out a mighty roared, signifying his return.
