Everything felt so wired, like electricity ran through every cell in my body and was jolting me to a new level of euphoria. Everything was alive, vibrant, and brilliant. I could see everything to the minutest detail on the small bird across the large yard. The eyes of my two mates were clearer and brighter while the fabric of the clothes they were wearing showed the small details where it was woven together by a machine. The world was illuminated with a new light.
All of my emotions were pulsing with a new intensity that raced into oblivion, and I couldn't understand much of what I felt. It was swirled together in a haze. There was happiness, confusion, overwhelmed, and nervousness among many others.
My attention snapped to my dirt covered mate before I realized I was covered in it too. This was the first words out of my mouth as a vampire – not all that significant I supposed.
"Why are we covered in dirt?" I asked.
Many chuckles sounded at that. The members of the Authority were out here as well, plus Ben, Carmanos, Pam, and Colin. Of course my Godric and Eric were there as well.
"It's part of the process of turning," Godric answered. "After we drink your blood, you have to drink ours. Then we go to rest in the ground to let the magick complete its work and let you turn properly. Then you wake up and feed. That completes your making. Some let the newborns dig themselves out but I refuse to do so."
There was murmuring in the crowd about agreeing. The woman that I believe I remember was named Rosalyn said that she dug all 200+ progenies out of the dirt. We all started heading inside, and surprisingly, toward the kitchen. I noticed all of the vampires were taking up defensive positions around the room, especially the doors and windows. Godric pulled out a cup that was filled with a red liquid that smelled like apricots and honey.
"Drink" was the only command that was spoken at the moment.
I tentatively took a sip to try it, finding it beyond delicious. It was gone in a couple of seconds. I could feel everything enhancing even further and a small part of me felt like it suddenly became permanent. The fact I now had forever excited me to no end. I jumped into Godric and Eric's arms and started kissing them. We disappeared from the kitchen into our bedroom and had the most mind-blowing sex yet. Even this was enhanced when you became a vampire; the orgasms were so much more intense, and so was every mind-numbing touch. After cleaning up, we dressed into something pretty and they started going over things I needed to know.
"There are rules you have to follow now that you are my progeny. Part of this is required for all but part of it is I am incredibly strict. Just ask him," Godric said pointing to Eric.
Eric just started mumbling, blushing, and looking away. Mumbling a few things that I wanted to pretend I didn't hear.
"One of the most important is that you can't randomly attack someone, anywhere, anytime. We just revealed ourselves to the public so it's even more important because we don't want to cause public panic. It still would have applied before the Great Revelation because of the potential for our kind being revealed. You have to keep control of yourself well enough. Which means you won't be alone for the first few years."
I was surprised. "Why years?"
He slightly raised his eyebrow in question. "Number two: you need to obey the vampires on the list of names I give you. You can keep it with you until you memorize them."
"How do we know we can trust them?" I wondered aloud.
He held his breath for a second. "I've known the people on this list for a while and I know they can be trusted because if they couldn't be trusted they would have died already."
I sucked in a shocked breath. "As in you would kill them?"
He smirked. "Mostly yes; some of the vampires are… taken care of… by the Authority and their assassins. The ones on the list can be trusted."
"Third is you need to be completely honest with all of us at all times. I don't tolerate lying nor any playing with the truth and manipulating it. I'm quite sure you've figured out Eric is the same way with this."
Said vampire chuckled at this. "She is definitely aware."
Godric chuckled at his tone and I blushed. "You also need to be aware that once you are old enough you are going to go through the supernatural version of a school. It is ran by almost all vampires and covers everything from vampire laws and politics to the stages of vampire age to the true histories of supernatural creatures."
I was stunned into silence. A school for vampires; surely I heard wrong. "There's a school for vampires to go through like high school?"
He chuckled amusedly; Eric too. "More like elementary or primary school through secondary or high school. It lasts for many years."
"That's crazy." I was still trying to process. "That probably took forever to try and organize."
"Then I guess it's a good thing we have forever then," Eric replied. I started laughing which set all three of us into a laughing fit.
"I still have the question of why not being left alone for years."
Godric sighed. "It's because for years, you will be very much under the category of newborn. Most vampires don't make it through the first year, but parts of that are incompetent makers or making mistakes that are deadly such as being out in the sun after not coming home soon enough or breaking one of the laws that result in death as the punishment. Not all of the makers prepare the newborn vampires nor take care of them as well as we do."
I contemplated what he just told me. "How long will it take for you not to consider me a newborn?"
He hesitated, looking me in the eyes for a moment before reluctantly answering. "Twenty years on average. Then you become a baby vampire. Then at fifty, you'll be a teenager. At one hundred you'll finally be a young adult."
I was completely shocked at how long the time frame was. "I never would have thought that it would be that far apart."
Godric smirked. "Most don't. But you'll have some of the best vampires around to keep you safe and teach you."
I smiled, digesting and processing everything that I've heard. He said we would go over more things at another time but he didn't want to overwhelm me. He did warn me though that if I did break one of the rules that he would not hesitate to make sure I understood that I need to follow them for my safety and theirs. We decided to go back out to the living room and see how well I could feed from the bags of blood they had ready and heated so I could keep from attacking Charlie.
We headed back to the kitchen, many of the vampires surrounding us yet again. I was handed a blood bag by one of them, and was shown how to open it and keep all of the blood from pouring out. Then I was shown how to feed from it. I drank the entire thing within a few minutes. They had me breathe deeply for a few minutes to make sure I wouldn't attack Charlie from the smell. I was good and felt very positive about being able to do this.
Surrounded by all of the vampires, they slowly let Charlie in front of me. Everyone was very tense. I could hear the heartbeat beating loud in my ears, blood rushing through his veins, and he smelled like coffee and the woods. I could just imagine sinking my new, and very cute, fangs into his neck. I was starting to vibrate in place, every instinct telling me to eat him. The men named Roman and Dieter were standing in between me and my father instantly. Godric immediately picked me up and rushed me away to the bedroom.
"Look at me," he demanded. I instantly looked into his eyes. "Breathe. Take deep breaths and concentrate on me."
I took in and let out slow deep breaths while getting lost into his eyes. I found myself leaning in towards his lips, but before I could kiss him, he pulled away while tucking my head into his shoulder.
"It will take time, my little one. You just woke up. You are not even one night old yet." His voice was quiet, soothing, and I just started to tear up.
I started crying into his shoulder, extremely upset that I just tried to eat my dad. That sounded weird to me but I would get used to it, maybe.

I wasn't sure what just happened exactly. One minute, my Bella was fine and then the next there was multiple vampires in defensive positions around me against Bella. After Bella was rushed out of the room, one of the two vampires in front of me turned to me.
"My apologies but it will take some time for young Bella to adapt to being around fresh blood without wanting to attack," the man with the accent told me.
"How long will it take?" I questioned.
He was silent for a moment, just staring. I was starting to wonder if he would answer me. Finally he replied. "On average it takes a couple of weeks."
I nodded. He walked away from me, and most of them walked out of the room. Ben came over to me, leading me back to the living room.
"Could I suggest staying somewhere else for a couple of weeks? It'll make it easier on Bella and will be much safer for yourself."
I shook my head yes. "I'll stay at my aunt's house."
He smiled. "Good." He clapped me on the back of my shoulder. "I'll keep you updated. I'll let you know when it's safe again to come see her."
After this, we got everything ready and made our way out to Bon Temps in a rental car I had until I could find one to buy here. I stopped the car in front of Adele's house, parking it and heading towards the porch. I knocked on the door and within a minute, my aunt was giving me one of the biggest hugs I've ever had. I wasn't used to it so it made me uncomfortable, but I got the feeling I better get used to hugs.
"Oh, Charlie! It's been so long! Please come in and sit. We have some catching up to do." It was then she noticed my company. "Oh, hello there! I'm Adele Stackhouse. Nice to meet you." She shook his hand.
"Ben Flynn," he replied, taking her hand in return.
"Please come in," she offered.
He smirked slightly for a moment. "Thank you for the offer but I must be heading back to Shreveport. I just accompanied Charlie on the way here. It is a pleasure to meet you as well. I'll come back another time and take you up on the offer though and we can get to know each other then."
"Okay! Sounds good to me. I'll make you some dinner and sweet tea while we talk. Just let us know when!"
"Sure thing!" Ben replied before taking off into the air.
A startled gasp came from Adele. "You actually became friends with a vampire! Definitely progress!"
I rolled my eyes behind her back. "Progress from what?"
"From sending your daughter here away from any possibility of them!"
We sat down in the living room, sweet tea in a glass being poured in the process. We caught up on everything possible and it took hours. Once we decided to call it a night, Adele led me up to the room Bella stayed in for less than a week. Once you walked in, you could see Bella's touch throughout the room. It was strange sleeping in purple blankets but it made me feel closer to Bella as well. I missed her already. I drifted off ready for her to be okay around people.
