Well then, here's the next chapter of this story of mine, I have nothing much to say about this chapter except that this one is a fluff chapter. Besides that, let's move on to the comments before we begin.

Selfishgecko: I agree, one thing for sure, it wont be a Jaune centric fic. We have way way too many of them, it can get ridiculous.

Chapter 18

Calm before the storm

It has been a day since team RWBY (and Jade) had prevented a crisis from approaching, with the Vytal festival arriving very soon, all of them could be seen at the arena training together, as of yet, it was a fight between the team themselves while Jade watches from the side due to him being the additional member.

"Jade." Raphael called him as he manifested beside him and sat on the chairs.

"Yes?" Jade answered.

"I think it is time you know, what is going to happen soon… It is not good…" Raphael looked afraid as he talked to Jade while his team were busy sparing with each other.

"Well then, I won't force you to say it if you don't want to Raphael. After all things had changed too much."

"No, I must say it, for the good of us all... ok… here it goes... Cinder and her gang are planning to destroy Beacon and the CCTs, with the help of the White Fang under Adam Taurus and with the Grimm, all while also destroying Huntsman reputation." Jade was for the most part shocked as Raphael continued to explain as he stared at him.

"It gets worse… Yang gets arrested for a crime she did not commit and then she loses her right arm, Blake gets stabbed in the belly by Adam… and… Lastly, both Penny and Pyrrha will die… Unless we intervene."

"Hold up! Pyrrha and Penny die!? How did they die! Tell me!" Jade mentally yelled as he stared at his twin (Soul wise) for answers.

"Penny dies from an accidental murder from Pyrrha… Also Penny is not human, she is an Atlesian android created by Atlas."

"Penny? Android? Huh… That explains so much… Wait then what about Pyrrha?"

"*Sighs* She dies when she tries to confront Cinder who at the time has the full powers of a fall maiden alone... You can guess what happens next. Her belief that it was her destiny to wield the maiden powers alone cost her life… And deeply affect Jaune."

"Jaune? how?"

"She gave him a kiss on the lips before sending him away… That haunted Jaune for a long time."

So good all dense Jaune finally realised Pyrrha having a crush for him, all too late…"

"Yup…"

"Problem is that we can't be at all places at the same time… Does not help that both of us do not know what changes Cinder had made to her plans when we disrupted them constantly."

"Have you checked with the general about the Virus in the CCTs?"

"No I have not… Should I?"

"Yea… The virus would cause all Atlesian androids and machines to go berserk and attack everyone… At the time… Penny is already deactivated from Pyrrha."

"Man this is really stressful for both of us huh? From what I could gather… Beacon is lost yea?"

"Yea…Even if the virus was stopped Beacon would be destroyed as the Grimm Wyvern will come and end it… All we could do is to limit the casualties and also prevent Pyrrha and Penny from dying in the fall."

"Then what should we do?"

"Well… I have some ideas… But we need to get shades or masks for Pyrrha and Yang."

"Shades? Masks? Explain."

"Well Emerald's semblance is an illusion base ability; however it can only affect one people when she uses it and she must be able to see their eyes to use it. So if you are wearing shades or masks. She can't use her semblance on you. The main point is that Emerald used her semblance on Yang when she was fighting against Mercury, so she thinks that Mercury is attacking but instead he is on a floor and broke Mercury's legs on camera."

"Hm… That is good to know."

"Oh, we can continue this later, your team has done their fight and are coming to you." Raphael says as he vanishes as Jade turns his gaze back on his team.

"So guys how was your spar?" Jade asked.

"So far so good, Jade, who are you going to fight?" Yang asked.

"Well since all of you had already had your spar… How about you guys stay here as I train on some bots?"

"Go ahead Jade we will be here cheering for you!" Ruby says with enthusiasm.

"Jade, don't push yourself too far ok?" Blake says as he hugged him, even though she is covered top to bottom in sweat.

"Of course, I won't. Also why are you hugging me when you are sweaty?" Jade asked as he tilted his head and his ears twitched.

"Is there something wrong with that? I thought you would enjoy such a thing." Blake just smiled at him as everyone else just giggled except for Weiss because Ice queen.

"Eh... Whatever… How about you count for me how many bots I trash in there." Jade blushed rapidly as Blake let him go.

Jade then entered the arena with his guns in his hands as dozens of training bots arrived with various weapons in hand, Jade then entered into his combat pose as his mask forms on his face. Seconds had passed till Jade dashed in towards the training bots and started sending shots towards them. The bots seem to respond in kind as all of them charged into Jade.

Jade then jumped as he got close while transforming his guns into swords before plunging them on one of them, Jade then pulled it off as he dodged an axe heading for him. Jade then back kicked another bot before slicing it's head off, and kicking it at another bot that was swinging a longsword at him, Jade then pulled an electric grenade and then dropped it on his feet as he backed away. The grenade then detonated as Jade closed the distance and lopped off their heads with ease as more bots entered the arena now some of them had guns with them.

Jade then used his semblance to pick up some of the weapons on the floor and took them with him as he jumped at the group while spinning his blades at them. What resulted could be considered a smoking wreckage of destroyed machines with Jade on top of the pile while looking exhausted.

"Ok! I think I had enough!" Jade yelled as Weiss pressed a button to stop all of the training bots as those that are still fine returned to where they came from.

"Man… That was one hell of a work out… So, how many was that I took out?" Jade asked with exhaustion in his voice as the team walked towards him.

"Mm…. About 50 bots on very hard difficulty. Many Huntress and Huntsman in training have trouble dealing with that much alone, and yet you did it with relatively no issue. Well done." Weiss complemented Jade as she checks her scroll.

"Hey hey, as much as I appreciate it Weiss, it exhausted me like there was no tomorrow, if this was a real scenario, I would be beaten due to being overwhelmed. In other words, I need to work on my stamina."

"I don't know about you Jady, but I think you got this, I can bet that you should be able to beat a team with no issue right there Jady!"

"Yang is right! I believe that you can beat a team by yourself!" Ruby energetically says.

"Here Jade, have some water." Blake handed out a bottle of water which Jade accepted greatly.

"Thanks Blake." Jade said as he took the water from Blake and drank it.

"Soo… What do you plan to do now?" Blake then asked her boyfriend as he finished the bottle in one go.

"Well… I was thinking of resting a bit before I go and do something else… Or… How about another date between both of us? After we rest a bit, of course."

"That sounds like an amazing idea." Blake just smiled as she glanced at Jade's tone arm muscles as the others decided to leave and give the love birds some time alone.

"Someone is enjoying the view." Jade just smirked as Blake went red in the face as Jade just laughed about it.

Much later…

Both of them were wearing their casual clothing as they wandered through the streets that had been fully decorated for the coming Vytal festival, while admiring all the colourful decorations, Jade however, felt the opposite. What he felt was dread. He knew the fate that would befall the festival but Raphael told him that it was inevitable that Beacon would fall and the world consumed by fear. All he could do was make preparations to reduce the impact and pray that things would go smoothly. Hopefully.

It was then in which both of them stumbled upon a cosmetic shop that Blake wanted to go to, though Jade believed that Blake had plans for him. He was correct when Blake tested all the cosmetics on Jade's face much to his protest but he eventually relented and accepted his fate as Blake's cosmetic tester, much to the amusement of the people at the counters and other customers present in the shop.

After that scene was over, the couple went over for some tea at a nearby café, it was then in which they walked into some racist who did not allow them into the café much to the owner's protest, under stably displeased at the men preventing them to enter into the café, both of them apologise to the owner and left to find another café to eat at.

"Jade?" Blake called her boyfriend.

"Something on your mind Blake?" Jade responded back.

"Yea, I noticed that you were restless a few days ago, are you alright?" She asked.

Jade knew that this was going to happen sooner or later but he thought up an excuse to hopefully throw off Blake from getting suspicious of him, though it hurts him to lie to the person he loved.

"Yea I am, it is just that the festival is getting me all restless, after all, I never been to one nor been participating in one before. So I guess you can say that I was nervous about the whole ordeal."

"Really? Then what about yesterday? While you did a good job hiding it from everyone else but I noticed, you were even more restless about the trip."

"That I guess you can say that I was excited for our first mission despite us having to shadow Oobleck… But I understand your concern. If I need help I will come to you, this is a promise."

Blake had an unconvinced look on her face for a while but she then just smiled at Jade.

"I suppose that we can do, now where were we?"

"Last I checked, we were looking for a café to eat at."

"How about that cake shop you always wanted to go to?" Jade suggested.

"That sounds wonderful." Blake just smiled back as they made their way there for some tea.

After their tea, Blake suggested having some fun relaxing at the parks, after all, having some time to enjoy nature alone does sound appealing to both of them as they made their way there. It was there in which they encountered a toddler cat faunus with her mother walking by as both Blake and Jade relaxed on the benches. The toddler seemed to be interested in them and pointed at them both.

"Mummy, thoose to stangers are lke us righte?" The toddler cat faunus asked her mother.

"Yes dear, they are like us, after all… they have our ears." she smiled at the couple who smiled and waved at the baby faunus."

"Can I sai hi tow them?" She adorably asked.

The mother looked at both of them who smiled and nodded at her back.

"It should be fine I suppose, but let's not take too much of their time." She yielded over to her daughter as she cheered and approached the couple.

"Yay!" The little faunus girl cheered as she dragged her mother along as well towards Jade and Blake."

"Helo! Wo are you?" She asked both of them.

"Hello little one, my name is Jade Grayson and the girl beside me is Blake Belladonna." Jade introduced himself and his girlfriend to the curious baby faunus.

"Mai name is Mio!" The little faunus introduced herself.

"And my name is Ella. I must apologize for my daughter's curiosity."

"It is alright Miss Ella. Mio is adorable, don't you agree Jade?"

"Yea, such a cute little ball of energy right here." Jade cooed as Mio grabbed his hand and giggled.

"I suppose both of you are a couple, yes?" She asked Blake and Jade who only nod back at her in confirmation.

"Are you two also Huntsman and Huntress in training?" Sophie asked.

"Yes we are. How did you know?" Blake asked as Jade was distracted with Mio.

"Oh my husband is also a Huntsman who is currently busy with his job in the villages."

"That sounds nice, I guess he would be back for the Vytal Festival?" Blake then asked as Jade continued to play with the little girl.

"Yes, he did promise his daughter to come back soon. My dear daughter admires her father's job, and also told me her dream to be a Huntress in the future. I support her decision."

"That sounds wonderful."

"So what about you? After you graduate from Beacon, what will you do?"

"I…" Blake then looked at Jade who was still playing with little Mio who was now sitting on his lap. "It is still too soon to think about it now. But, I suppose I'll do a couple of jobs first before settling down and getting married." Blake blushed at what she had said as she looked back at Ella.

"That sounds wonderful, I pray for you that your dreams will come true." Ella said as she watched Jade playing with her daughter.

"Though I suppose I had taken enough of your time. Mio, it is time to go."

"Waaat? Mummy can we do't go?" Mio pouted as the couple silently cooed.

"I'm sorry my dear but we should go, I need to prepare the fish we have at home."

Mio immediately leapt off Jade as she hugged her mother and had stars in her eyes.

"Oki Mummy les go!" Mio's change in expression made the couple giggle and coo on how adorable the situation was.

"Take care!" "Goodbye." Jade and Blake waved as Mio and Ella waved goodbye as they left.

"Well that was fun." Jade just smiled, yet in his heart it hurts to see them so happy. Ever since his origins was revealed to him by his twin, (Soul wise) he had tried to avoid talking about it as it reminded him on how he was basically alone biologically and that he does not have anyone with him. No parents. No siblings. All alone in this empty and cruel world which he would have experienced when he was but a child. It was then that Blake's voice could be heard.

"Well that was nice… Jade, we should either resume our date or go back to Beacon. Jade?" Blake noticed that Jade was not paying attention and was instead looking at the direction which Ella and Mio had left. It was then that it clicked in Blake's head as to why Jade was looking at that direction and she just gave Jade a hug.

"Sorry Blake… That just reminded me of a life I could never experience…" Jade mumbled as his ears lowered in sadness while embracing Blake's hug.

"It's alright… you have us with you…"

"Yea… We should go and resume our date."

"I'd love to." Both smiled at each other as they broke the hug and got to their feet and walked off to enjoy the rest of the day by themselves.

It was then that both of them had arrived at a jewellery shop as Jade asked Blake to wait outside much to her initial confusion. It was then Jade asked something from the cashier and she pulled out a plastic bag that had two boxes, Jade then paid for it and left to meet up with Blake who was still outside the jewellery shop.

"Jade what did you buy?" Blake asked as she curiously peaked into the plastic bag. As both of them arrived on the airship alone.

"How about you close your eyes and find out?" Jade says as Blake looked confused before she complied.

Jade then took out the contents of a box, a silver Byzantine necklace that has a tear shaped emerald gem in the middle, Jade then leaned in and clasped the necklace around her neck. As well as clasping a similar necklace but with an amber gem instead of emerald around his neck.

"Okay, you can open your eyes now."

Blake opened her eyes, though looked a bit confused at first till she felt a small weight around her neck as she proceeded to hold her hold of Jade's gift as she felt so happy at the gift.

"It's so beautiful… Thank you…" Blake says Jade just smiled at her.

"I'm so glad that you enjoyed it, but that's not the only one." Jade said as he held his one for Blake to see before continuing on.

"These will be the symbols of the love we bear for one another, the emerald I got for you will remind you of the love I bear for you, as the amber will remind me of the love you bear for me. And why I fight. For you."

Blake was speechless… Never had she ever thought that Jade would invest so much money on these necklaces, she always knew Jade as one who is always thrifty with money, unlike a certain blondie. She never thought he would do it just so that they would remind both of them of their love for each other. The thought of it warms her heart dearly and a single tear of joy came out of her eye as Jade just smiled as he used his hand to wipe the tear away.

"How… How long have you been planning this?" Blake spoke as more tears of joy fell out of her eyes as she hugged and gazed into his eyes.

"Weeks back… I wanted to get something special for both of us… This was it, just for the two of us." Jade then hugged her back as both of them rubbed their foreheads against each other as their ears happily twitched.

"Thank you…"

"You are my everything Blake, till the day I die. I will never abandon you."

Blake then gazed directly into Jade's eyes before pulling him into a kiss which Jade accepted.

After some time had passed, both of them had finally made it back to their dorm in which the following conversion had occurred with their team.

"So how was your date?" Yang started out.

"Nice so far. Except when a bunch of racist prevented us from entering a café but nothing much."

"Really? Also what's that necklace on your necks?" Ruby was next to ask as the others moved in curiosity.

"Jade bought it for both of us to be our symbols of love to each other." Blake answered Ruby's question as the others glanced at Jade who just shrugs.

"Well I did not know Jade was willing to spend that much money." Yang muttered as Jade just smiled.

"Only for the woman I love."

"And you did not get anything for us?" Yang had a look of mock betrayal on her face.

"Well… when your birthdays come."

"Come to think about it… Jade you never told us your birthday. "Blake then asked.

"To be fair, you never asked. But it is on the 28 April. Though that's when they found me outside the orphanage..." Jade muttered the last part out.

"Oh I'm so sorry…" Blake's ears folded downwards when she heard what Jade had just said.

Jade hugged Blake before speaking "Don't be, it is the past, I can't do anything about it. I have you at my side, yes? I will push through it."

"Ok, then I recommend we continue our training tomorrow!" Ruby recommended as everyone nodded as the day ended and everyone went to sleep. Except our faunus couple who thought it was a really good idea to makeup before going to sleep, it is still a miracle that they have control over themselves and had not gone deeper than French kissing.

Author's notes.

And there's that, the epilogue of Vol 2 and the prologue of Vol 3, things are going to change as the story progressed as Jade and Raphael plot to reduce the damage that the Fall will cause. Whether this will work? Stick by and lets see the story progress together.

Now that Raphael have revealed the plot of Vol 3 to Jade, things are going to get very interesting. After all, preventing Yang from getting arrested and preventing both Penny and Pyrrha from biting the dust during the fall would no doubt take a lot of effort to manipulate. After all Cinder's gang will no doubt find a way to rid or wound Jade so he can't stop them. Only time will tell how it would go.

Next we have Blake asking Jade why he seems restless. This was a no brainer, I mention it in the previous chapter, its is bound to happen sooner or later. Then we have Jade lying to Blake, he only did it to get Blake off from getting suspicious and throwing a wrench into his plans. And yes even he hates it that he had to lie to the person he trusted, he is not heartless ok.

Next we got more interaction stuff for both Blake and Jade, Blake using Jade as a way to test all the cosmetic's in the shop or getting kicked out by racist but not letting them bother them. Or them interacting with a cat faunus mother and her child. I added in to hopefully expand on Blake's overall change from canon and add a wholesome moment before the shitfest arrives in the future.

Next we got the necklaces… This one I really wanted to add in when I made this story and so here it is, Jade's vow to love Blake and why he now fights, for her. I wanted to expand more on Jade's relationship with Blake on how their bond would become stronger… They will need it when the fall happens in the future.
