A/N: Sorry for the delay I've been busy with school work and such. Last chapter Tiara was released from the hospital and went back home to see all her family and friends. Cody was temporarily running the company and learned that Ian practically left everything to Tiara. The chapter ended with her giving the eulogy at Ian's funeral. I consider this the second part of the story especially since there is a time gap.
Part 2: Coming Back Together - Chapter 12: Just A Normal Day
Point of View: Tiara Somerhalder August 1, 2018
I pull up to the blue house in my Nissan 370Z. I rarely get to drive it anymore unless I'm going to work because I always have a plus one. I get out the car and lean back in to grab my bags.
I turn around to my five-year-old son hugging my legs, "Mommy you're home!"
I drop my bags down and pick him up holding him tight, "I missed you Christian! Did you miss me?" He nods his head eagerly before puckering his little pink lips that I gladly kiss. "Where's Emmy?"
"She's inside helping with Ana and Alex."
"Okay is Tyler home?" Christian scrunches his nose up frowning. "I'll take that as a yes. Go inside buddy I'll be right there I just have to get my stuff." I put him down and he runs back into the house.
I pick up my bags and close the car door. I go to my study leaving everything work related in there. I head up the wooden stairs following the squeaks and giggles of my twin girls. I peek around the doorframe looking at my little miracles give Emilia and Erin hell with all their squirming. I kick off my heels and walk in behind them. I take over for Emilia making my twins squirm with happiness. I kiss both of them and continue to try to pull Ana's pants on. Once their fully dressed Erin and I take a sigh of accomplishment and put them down in their cribs.
Their blue eyes get glossy with unshed tears no no no please don't cry it breaks my heart! "I'll be fine guys you can go downstairs."
"Good luck," Emilia and Erin whisper before closing the door behind them.
I pick up my girls holding one in each arm and they lay their heads on my chest. "Golden slumbers kiss your eyes. Smiles await you when you rise. Sleep pretty babies do not cry and I will sing a lullaby. Cares you know not therefore sleep while over you a watch I'll keep. Sleep pretty darlings do not cry and I will sing a lullaby."
I thank my lucky stars that they went to sleep without crying for the first time. I lay Alexandria down then Anastasia in their matching white and black cribs. I take a moment to enjoy the peace and the bittersweet happiness of getting to put them to sleep. I'm usually always late coming home causing Erin, the nanny, and Emilia, Christian's godmother, to put them to sleep. They tell me about how my girls cry begging for me but end up falling asleep from the work out of crying.
I can't help but let my mind wonder if it wouldn't be as bad if their father were around. Yes, they think of Tyler as their father which is why Christian doesn't like him since he still remembers Ian. There are days when Christian will ask when Ian is coming back and I get lost for words unable to say never because he's dead.

I get out the shower and see Tyler sitting on the bed, "Are you trying to ambush me?"
He laughs, "No not at all." He stands up and kisses me before giving me that face that already shows me what he's about to say. "Have you given it anymore thought?"
"During the small moments that I have to myself I think about it a little. You know I care about you so much but I don't know. I mean, everything is fine the way it is why change it?"
"Because I love you. I would have never proposed to you a month ago if I didn't think that two years was sufficient time to… grow."
"I know you hate the fact that part of me is stuck in the grave with Ian but can you blame me? I didn't choose to let him go, I was forced to. I'll always love him how could I not when he gave me three beautiful children? I know where you're coming from I really do but right now, I don't think it's time to rock the boat especially when Christian barely utters two words to you."
Tyler sighs, crosses his arms, and nods his head slowly, "Alright I understand maybe with time we can rock the boat?"
I kiss him again, "With time."
"Now I'm going to ambush you!" He picks me up and lays me on the bed.

Christian runs to the door with a big smile on his face. "I'm ready to go mommy!"
"You want to go to the grocery store with me?" He nods his head eagerly causing me to squat down. "Honey why don't you want to spend time at home with Tyler? Isn't he nice to you?"
His smile instantly disappears, "Yes but… He's not daddy. I want daddy not him."
"Christian… daddy isn't coming back. He went on a trip faraway in the sky to see the clouds."
His piercing blue eyes start to water, "Why didn't he bring me with him?"
"He couldn't even though he wanted to. Daddy didn't want me or your sisters to be alone."
Christian takes a deep breath and wipes his face with the backs of his hands, "I miss him."
I pull him in tight, "I miss him too."

I walk up and down the aisles slowly checking off item after item. Every few steps I look down to make sure Christian is still eagerly following. My phone starts to ring, signaling a sigh, and I reluctantly answer.
"Green."
"Tiara sorry to interrupt your day this is Brooks."
"Would you care to tell me something my caller ID can't? I'm off the clock and with my son you know how I feel about family time."
"Yes I do Miss Green but it's an emergency though. I'll make it snappy. The security team and I were just reviewing the tapes as usual and we noticed a pattern. Around the same time every night, for the past three months, Christian's room turns to the same footage of him sleeping."
"What do you mean? What's so unordinary about him sleeping at night?"
"Well he's in the exact same position, same pajamas, same everything for at least two minutes. The footage is fake. I mean it's him but someone took this footage from the feed months ago."
"It's not a glitch or something?"
"We take your family's security very serious Tiara. It can't be a glitch every night, at the same time, for exactly two minutes. It especially can't be a glitch when the same thing happens to the twins' room right after… for the same amount of time."
A million thoughts start to go through my mind but Brooks makes it worse, "It has happened to your room several times but not as much because it only happens when you're alone. Overall, the team and I believe someone is using this fake footage so that they can roam about freely."
"You're telling me someone has been in my house, every night, in my children's rooms and mine?"
"Sadly, yes. I think you need to come home Miss Green you shouldn't be out by yourself right now. We need to assess the threat."
"For once I agree. Christian and I are leaving right now." I hang up and look down to see an empty space beside me. "Christian?"
I look around and see him nowhere in sight. "Christian!" I grab my purse and run out to the end of the aisle. I see a restroom and run to it hoping he just had to relieve himself. "Christian? If you hear mommy just yell back!" I open the door to the women's bathroom, nothing, then open the men's to find my son about to walk out.
"Hey mommy!"
I pull him into me and practically hug the life out of him, "Don't walk away from me ever again! Why would you do that? Someone could have taken you away from me Christian you're not just a normal little boy! There's bad people in the world that would take you just because your mom is a powerful person and your father was too."
He looks at me completely confused, "But you always said if I was with you or daddy I was safe."
"Yes bu- wait are you saying that-"
"I was with daddy! I saw him and hugged him and he talked to me. He said that he was sorry for leaving us and that he would be back very soon!" Christian gives me the biggest smile I've ever seen but it fades away. "Aren't you happy mommy?"
"I- um are you sure you weren't just imagining it?"
"Daddy thought you would say that so he gave me this," Christian opens his little hand and there sits Ian's wedding band. "He used to always wear it mommy I promise it was him. I wouldn't lie to you."
I start breathing faster and can't stop the tears that overflow. "This has to be a sick joke," I whisper to myself. I pick up Christian and practically run back to the car.
Review and all that good stuff please and thank you!:)
