Like I've tried to say in another one of my stories, so so sorry for the wait. My flashdrive that I've used for the last 5 years give or take, crashed and I lost everything. I've had to start a lot of my stories from scratch. Luckily, my friend, MistyLilyValley, found this chapter of Snow's story on her computer when I sent her a character profile for something else i'm working on and so I decided to post it cause it looked complete to me.
Hope you guys can find it in your hearts to forgive me. I'm really trying but besides the flashdrive I've been extremely busy at work which leaves me exhausted.
Enjoy :)
Chapter 15: Mysterious Stranger
Blaze and I ran into the room where we found all of the Guardians gathered around the globe, nothing present out of the ordinary … yet. I walked over to stand next to my parents, who, although both were standing up straight, looked even weaker than before.
My mother, who was sitting down near North's console in a black seat, shifted out of the chair to rap me in her arms for a second as she pulled me into her lap and held me close, her hand sliding against the white and black streaks of my hair as I heard her heart beat. However, I pulled back and jumped to my feet, as did my friends, when I heard Dusty cry out.
"He's here!" I heard Dusty shout. Looking at her, I saw where she had dropped her whips from her own training and was now looking up above the globe. I looked up, too, and saw a mysterious cloaked figure floating by a window near the globe. Dusty suddenly leapt into the air as he jumped away from the window in surprise, making snow fall on us, two clumps of which landed on the heads of Blaze and Saige.
Screeching to a halt to shake the snowdust from his head, Blaze scanned the entire room as he called out, "What's going on?!"
"Hurry, he's getting away!" Dusty called down from where she hovered just outside the window before she streaked off after him with a swish of her stardust. Shouting after him, we heard her say, "Hey, wait a minute … Who are you?" before she vanished.
Sputtering in confusion, Blaze then said, "Just wait … what … Who was that?"
"Obviously, Dusty's Traveler … or something," we heard Aurora muttering, thinking back.
"Wait, what …?" I exclaimed as I turned to see Cloud jumping out of the risers.
"Dusty, wait!" Cloud shouted, taking wing along with Solar, who grabbed his board from the side of the wall and hopped on, taking off after her as they, too, soared out the window without an explanation.
"Alright, what just happened?" Saige demanded with her hand on her waist as she gestured wildly.
"That's what I'd like to know," Blaze said, shaking his head some more as the Guardians rushed out of the room to watch from the window as Aunt Song and Uncle Sandy rushed to the aperture windows to watch as their daughter's trail glistened against the snowy sky in worry.
"Ok, my head's going to start spinning if I don't get some answers … and soon," Blaze said, striding over to stand in front of Aurora as she gave him a preoccupied stare. "Now, what's going on?"
"We don't know … exactly," Aurora answered, turning to me hoping I had an answer. "Dusty mentioned that Traveler … whoever he is … That Spy!
I'm going with that. Remember Snow, didn't Dusty say anything about who that guy was? Anything?"
A Traveler in the Dark? Wasn't that was Dusty called him? I thought more to myself as I went over in my head what I remembered her saying, "… guarded … face … holding a secret … Angel Moon …," as I only concluded one thing.
"I'm not sure why, but I take it …," I said, staring up at the path laid before us as the snow continued to blow into the cool room, where the skylight window remained open. Pointing up with my good hand, I said, "I betcha you that's what we have to do. We have to follow him! He could be our key to finding Angel!"
"Then, what are we standing around here for?" Saige said, grabbing ahold of Taylor's hand as they ran past Blaze. "We'll meet you downstairs. Come on, Blaze!"
"That doesn't answer my question! Who is he?" he cried, despite being pulled out of the room by Saige who took hold of his hand.
"Come on!" Saige urged him, running to the elevator.
"Wait, how are we going to follow them?" I asked, not daring to say that I still couldn't fly, much less with my arm in a cast even. However, I grabbed my staff anyway from my behind my sash as we heard a whistle call up from above us as Luna and Nightlight each bent down a hand while aboard a strange, makeshift violet saucer that seemed to radiate from Luna's feet.
"Come on, girls," she said gently, a wide smile forming to her cheeks. "You're riding with us."
I didn't know what to honestly think about Luna, first she was this strange girl that came to ask to join our fight, and then she was made to leave. Now, with Manny's protector at her side, she had somehow convinced her Father to let her return. And, she seemed to be enjoying every second of this 'venture. And, she was a Princess, like in the story books? Nah, yeah right!
So, that's how I ended up soaring up high into the sky on my knees, watching the world torpedo by underneath me through a violet sheen as Luna teleported us up and out of North's workshop window with just a mere thought.
Looking past over Luna's shoulder, I saw Nightlight seeming to enjoy the feel of the wind against his face as he held Aurora's hand steady as she, too, allowed her ears to fly back but still listened for any sign of the Twins or Dusty as we followed her now fading star trail.
"We must be getting close," Luna said, bending a hand down to touch some of the stardust that sprinkled past her fingers and turned to into her sparkly star bit particles as Luna turned to heed my questioning stare. "The trail's ending early … They didn't go far."
"There they are!" Aurora said, indicating for Luna to stop us in a hover as we heard Blaze come to a hover next to us, holding his staff out horizontal, as each Taylor and Saige held on to either side as he steered.
"What's up?" he called, hiding faint fatigue but masking it well. "Got something?"
"I hear them," Aurora said, standing to her feet as Nightlight and Luna both watched as she ventured ever nearer to the edge to look out more clearly past Luna's temporal saucer.
Listening hard, I thought I heard Dusty's voice as she called out, "Solar, no! What are you doing?"
"Cloud, Dusty, watch …!"
"Look out!" Aurora cried out, yanking me back as she and Luna covered me as a rushing hot wave of mild heat and blinding snow blinded us as we started to fall.
However, with a swift turn in a mental cue, Luna caught us all in some sort of temporal bubble as we all found ourselves safely on the ground, looking out to where we saw two crisp looking holes on opposite sides of the snow, where Dusty and Cloud were peeking their heads out of the snow drift, out of harm's way.
I only had one question, and Aurora rectified it as she stomped right over to where Cloud and Dusty laid patch-deep in the snow and pulled them out. Firing her anger towards Solar, who stood a little ways away with shaking hands, she called out, "What was with that blast of heat, Fireball?! That could have hurt someone!"
Almost crying, he muttered, "It's not what … I … I didn't mean to …"
"IF you can't control your powers, then why are you even here?!"
"Aurora, calm down," Luna started up, immediately coming between her and Solar. "We don't know the full story. Don't make assumptions if they aren't true …"
"We only saw a few seconds, anything could have happened," Taylor said, joining the defense.
"No, it was me. I fired that fireball, recklessly in defense …" he stated, while Dusty and Cloud shared a knowing look. "But I would never put my sisters in danger. Ever!"
"I know that, Solar," Luna said rather gently to him as she faced him.
Walking to where Dusty was standing, I was just about to ask where that kid went when Saige spoke up first.
"Then, what was with the explosion? I thought we were after that kid," she said, abruptly.
"We were, but …" Dusty started to say before Cloud sat a hand on her sister's shoulder and finished for her.
" … He stopped the shot, slashed it in two. That's what made the explosion."
"And, let him get away," I heard Saige mutter, seeing no one and no doubt wanting answers like everyone else.
And then, she stopped. "Wait, are you saying he saved you guys? Why would he save anybody if he was working for Angel?"
"He's not," I heard Dusty say, standing to her feet. "I mean … We don't know that …"
With a sigh, I pulled her aside as I said, "You said so yourself, Dusty, he's not to be trusted." And, blowing up my stubborn bangs, I turned back to lock on to everyone's eyes as I turned back to ask, "And, until we know for sure, he's our best bet to tracking down Angel. Now, which way did he go?"
"We don't know for sure," Cloud spoke up from behind her sister. "But it sounded almost like …"
"Wait, I see him!" Blaze suddenly called out from the air, as we all took off following him into the deep brush of winter brush woods. "He's headed further into the woods. Follow me!"
Thrashing aside limp strands of ferns out of my way and away from my face, I started to think: The Alaskan Tundra? "We've already been to the Alaskan Tundra!"
I didn't see my cousin, but I knew he was there as he called out, "Hey, guys! He's just opened some kind of portal!"
My head did a somersault! "A portal?! That's just like …"
"No time!" as I heard him swoop up from all behind us as he pushed us into the deep brush, where we felt a strong, yet wintry and shimmery pull us all in as we tumbled through a hazy, yet discernable portal scene of a mystical glowing Vale with a castle turret poking through the trees, surrounded what looked like seasons. For what felt like a rushing current, I couldn't even speak as we all phased through it without even a blink.
So how was this? I have a feeling Misty helped me finish this but i'm honestly not sure. Nonetheless it's thanks to her that I was able to post this so I hope you enjoyed. Next time, we'll meet the mother of the seasons herself. I don't think I have to tell you guys who that is.
I know I don't really deserve it but I would appreciate reviews and I promise i'll try and do better in the future now that I have a new flashdrive.
You guys rock!
