The dampness and cold were all I could feel when I woke up. I was aware of a dangling sensation, I was chained up again, suspended from a stone wall. As my brain began registering what my eyes were seeing, I realized I was in the chamber again. Those round walls were unmistakable. I rolled my head to the side and let out a groan. Every time I moved my head I felt thousands of bombs going off at once. It was easily the worst migraine I had ever had in my 5,000 years of existence. Doing my best to not cry in pain, I looked over in the general direction of the exit. I could see the stone wall sealed up tight, the door, no doubt locked, appeared to weigh at least a few tons.
Looking to my left, I could see the floating vortex of mist that was Apophis' makeshift TV. Rolling across the screen were many different stories. Some about burglary, some about murder, some about rape, and the occasional Yankees game score. I was reading the lines when I heard a very distinct metallic sound. I could hear whirring and buzzing, and something very heavy moving. I looked back to my right and saw the heavy looking door moving aside. The whirring was no doubt caused by the mechanism opening that door. As the door finished opening, Apophis and another figure walked in. Apophis strode over to me while the other being took his place in the shadows. I assumed it was just another frog creature, and turned my attention back to the god towering over me.
"It appears you survived that little beating of yours," he tsked, "how unfortunate for you."
"What else can you do to me?" I asked.
"What else can I do? I can destroy your body. I could destroy your soul. I could destroy your legacy. I could crush your reputation. I could kill all the ones you have ever loved. And that is exactly what I plan to do!" Apophis snapped, insulted that I would question his power in such a way.
"You can't touch anyone I'm close to! The gods won't allow you!" I snapped back.
"Which is why I won't get close to them." He replied calmly.
I hesitated, unsure where the god of chaos was going with this. How could he hurt anyone when he was trapped down here, like me?
Apophis turned and beckoned the hidden figure forward. Before the figure could come into the light, Apophis replied:
"You will."
I was about to laugh at him too, at his stupidity. He should've known I would never help him. How could he possibly think I would do such a traitorous thing? But then the figure entered the light, and my jaw dropped. I suddenly understood how Apophis would use me to get to his enemies. I realized just how helpless I was in that moment, the moment when the rest of my hope and faith was squashed. There standing in front of me was none other than myself.
"Hello, Anubis," The copy said to me with a perfect mimic of my voice. I panicked, thrashing against the metal bonds. The copy of me gave a wicked grin as I struggled, before both him and Apophis turned and walked out of the room. As the door sealed, I gave up struggling and began to cry. All my hope had died just then, and I knew the others were powerless to stop Apophis. And so, I lowered my head and let my tears fall. I wept for everyone, the entire world. I wept for Carter and Osiris and the other gods. I wept for myself, and I wept for Sadie.
We had lost this fight already.

If I wasn't too happy when the side of my room was pulled off by a giant the size of the Statue of Liberty, you can imagine how mad I was when monsters started invading my house through said hole. First reaction: Shock. Second reaction: Utter rage. But instead of standing and fighting these invaders, I ran downstairs like the hero I was. To be fair, I was just trying to warn Carter and the others about the invaders.
I didn't need to.
The entire house was being flooded by frog thingys. As soon as I hit the middle landing, the beasts swarmed me like moths to a light. Summoning my staff, I swung at the closest of the creatures, smacking it in the head and knocking it out cold. I pointed my finger at another and unleashed my favorite spell "Ha-di!" I shouted. The frog in front of me exploded into a cloud of tiny frog particles. When the creature died, the others backed off, and I finally got my first good look at them. They were green, at least, most were. Each one was covered in large warts and boils, a few of them even oozing some form of slime. I turned away in disgust, and in doing so I found Carter fighting off some more of the demon frogs. I began slicing my staff through the air, creating a deadly bubble around me. Each time a daring frog would try to get to me, I would deliver a painful strike to its head, bringing it down. I continued my way over to Carter, who seemed to be having some issues with the frogs. Pointing my staff, I spoke another spell: "Ha-wi!" A blue beam of energy flew out of the tip of my staff, slamming a few of Carters opponents in the face. Carter stabbed downward, thrusting his sword tip through their hearts, delivering the death blow. He looked up when he was finished and nodded. I spun around and raised my hand, speaking the Egyptian words for bind: "Tas!" I yelled again. The two frogs now in front of me had magic ropes fly around them, wrapping them together and pulling the two frogs together. The two were immobile.
I couldn't see where the others were, but I could tell we were gaining ground. The seemingly endless wave of frogs was dying down. Eventually, we were fighting just to keep them out of our house. But in all of the ruckus, we forgot about mister giant. That is, until we heard him roar.
I swear to this day the entire house shook. Whatever he was saying was unintelligible, but he sounded pissed. Don't ask me how I came to that conclusion. Let's just say the hand flying down looking to smash our house into splinters helped.
Carter glanced up in fear, watching the hand come closer and closer. "DO SOMETHING!" he cried desperately to me.
I racked my brain for a spell that could halt the fist. I wasn't having much luck, and the hand was getting dangerously close. Suddenly, I heard a voice whisper in my head: N'dah.
I opened up all my magic reserves and yelled out the spell for protect.
"N'DAH!" I felt the magic pulse through my body, the energy required to do pull a stunt like this off. My reserves drained all too quickly, and the hand hadn't completely stopped yet. I knew I was going to kill myself if I continued for any longer, but I had no choice. I had to protect everyone. Gritting my teeth, I could feel the lack of energy get to me. The spell was dying. I felt like my bones had turned too led, and my legs began to give out. I knew it was the end of me.
"Sadie" a familiar voice registered in my mind. I knew that voice, but I couldn't place it. I didn't have the energy. Right on the brink of death, however, I felt a power surge course through me. With a loud crack, the spell tripled in intensity as I tapped into the unknown power source, stopping the giant's hand in its track. His hand was mere inches from the house, but it wasn't getting any closer. I had done it!
Slowly, I used the unknown power to restore myself. The physical stress of such an undertaking had been insane, but I could feel the power rejuvenating me, bouncing me back.
My bones began to feel more like bones, and less like wood. My legs were no longer jelly like. I was back to normal; all the effects of that spell had disappeared like magic.
Rejuvenated, I channeled the power, giving me strength I had only felt once before. I opened my hand and screamed back at the giant, who stood in confusion. "Sa-hei!"
The giant hollered in agony as every bone in his legs snapped, forcing him to fall backward away from our house. I was about to finish the giant off with my new found power when I heard an inhuman battle cry. Spinning left, i let out a gasp at the sight before me. There stood, no, floated Carter inside of a giant bird-like avatar. I felt a chill run down my spine as I saw the transparent sword swung down, slicing the giant in half. Carter was inside of a bird. The only time that had ever happened was when he was hosting Horus.
And everything clicked into place. My sudden surge of power, Carter's avatar, the voice that told me the spell, and said my name.
"Isis?" I asked to myself.
"Sorry Sadie, I had to help you. I wasn't going to let you kill yourself," Isis replied.
"And Carter… Is Horus─?"
"Yes."
I sighed, uncertain of what our next move would be. The gods just wouldn't leave us alone, even after we had rejected there offer the last time. I sent an exasperated look in Carters direction, and he sent the same expression back.
"Here we go again," I muttered.
Well, again we spiral into the chaos.
Thank you all for reading this chapter and story. It means a lot to me and my confidence.
Now, if you don't mind, I have some trick or treating to attend to, so I'll make this brief. I appreciate you all, and all of you guys have made this story possible.
Thanks again!
F&F and all that. Reviews are nice too.
Also, inform me of any mistakes please, by PM or Review I don't care. My friend won't be reviewing these next few chapters, and no peer edit just spells disaster.
Thank you all for your support!
