...

And now...I present to you...

With my greatest pleasure...

The Mole of Agent's Elevation.

Finale (Part 2)

McHallyboo had just conveyed the disheartening, unavoidable news.

Even after a few seconds passed, Tiny was still looking down at the ground, her hair covering her face. As the host looked at her, he could see her that her shoulders were shaking slightly, and a few more seconds passed while the two remained in silence, alone on the rooftop. Even after an elongated while, Tiny was still silent, and after counting to ten hushedly to himself, McHallyboo made the decision to speak out again.

"Are you...all right?" he asked her, his voice compassionate.

"Yeah...yes, I'm fine, sorry," Tiny replied quickly. She looked up, her eyes filled with tears. "I'm...I'm all right." She looked to the side.

"Are you sure?" McHallyboo continued. Tiny was quiet for a second.

"I shouldn't be crying," Tiny spoke, her voice sorry. She took the time to wipe her tears away from her face.

"But I am anyway." Then, she let out a tired laugh.

"You're sad...of course," McHallyboo said, and then he reached over to put his hand on her arm. "It's a sad time. I was sure that whoever I had delivered this news to...of being the final victim of this game...would be sad." Tiny nodded, looking down.

"But despite your tears...you're also still smiling, which means that something very small inside of you...even if so very, very small...is somewhat happy." Tiny, reflectively, nodded.

"Yeah...I don't know what," she whispered, thinking. "I think...maybe I'm just happy it's all over." McHallyboo nodded, listening.

"Even though I'm the runner-up...that news is out and finished and I don't have to wait in dread waiting for the news anymore," she continued. "I had a suspecting feeling that I might've been the last victim of this final round. I...I just kinda felt it, you know…."Tiny took a moment to collect herself.

"So I'm happy that instead of waiting in agony for the bad news...it's now out. And from that...I can move on." The host have a smile back to her.

"Though...I wish it had been good news," Tiny said, looking at the floor dejectedly and a little sadly.

"I wish it had been so too," McHallyboo said, and Tiny looked up at the host appreciatively.

"I cannot say it enough...but you had played an outstanding game, Tiny. No less," McHallyboo told her. "And before I had delivered the fateful news to you...please know that I had been telling the very truth to you. You are one of the strongest players to have ever made it through this game."

"I...don't think that's true, McHallyboo," Tiny replied, laughing. But McHallyboo shook his head.

"The will you had to continue on and drive yourself through many difficult, trial-filled, onerous points in this game… is a will that not that many people have, or in fact, would ever be able to obtain in their lifetime," McHallyboo told her truthfully. "And look at you: you are here at the end of the game. On top of the building. Past all seven floors and eight episodes." He looked out at the expanse of the rooftop.

"You may not have won...but you made it to the finish line. And that, in my honest opinion...is a victory that is enough for one's lifetime." For a second, Tiny was silent again and still: she took a moment to take in the host's words and truth as she stood on top of the grand building of challenges and trials. She had made it to the top. Her eyes filled with tears again, and though she was sad, she was also happy at the end of The Mole: Agent's Elevation.

"What!" The collective gasp from the executed players was loud. Everyone continued to stare at the television screen with stunned emotions. Tiny was the final victim of the game.

"So she's actually NOT the Mole?!" was Dry Bones' exclamation. "No way!"

"Wowza," Snifit said too, his face a little disappointed. "I knew she wasn't the Mole...because I know who the Mole is...but I am also really sad that she got out at the last second."

"Noooo…" Mimi covered her face, wiping tears of her own from her own eyes from seeing Tiny's downfall. She seemed the most affected from the fallen gameplay of the final victim of the game. Flurrie moved on over to the emotional player, and then gave her a hug.

"There, there," Flurrie told her. Mimi looked at everyone else, still teary.

"I'm happy that she was able to find happiness...even in losing," Mimi continued with a bittersweet smile. "That's all that counts. For that...I'm not completely upset." Bowser Jr. looked troubled.

"Oh man, well," Bowser Jr. said, thinking and looking a bit embarrassed. "Now I need to find a new suspect...and I'm sad to say this, but I don't have much time."

"WHO'S THE MOLE?!" Dry Bones shouted, almost standing up on his chair in anticipation. "I need to know the Mole! Right this second! Eclair or Piantissimo?!"

Everyone else, despite not also standing excitedly on their own chair like Dry Bones was, all felt the same emotion of tenseness. It was now down to two players. The truth was imminent, and it would be coming soon. Now, the moment of revelation was about to come...and it was indeed a time that most of them could not believe would be approaching in a few moments. Or seconds.

"Two players remain," McHallyboo spoke, as everyone looked at him. "Now...it comes down to this."

"Who is the Mole?" Flurrie asked grandly, wondering.

"And who is the winner?" Dashell whispered.

McHallyboo faced them all.

"Ladies and gentlemen...it is finally time for us to see…the last, final events that happened that night upon the building." McHallyboo looked at the camera, a shine in his eye.

"And it is also finally time for us to discover, after all this time...who is the Mole."

The television flicked on, and everyone watched.

Ding!

The doors of the second elevator opened slowly, and another player stepped out of their confined space of darkness, welcomed by the unexpected outside air. Now upon the roof of the building and under the night sky, they were unsure of what to do, or where to go, or whether or not they had won or lost the game.

"Oh…" But before their eyes was the elegant, green line of carpet that stretched out before them. The carpet, green and symbolic, went a far distance, but the player saw that it lead right to the roof's center. As the player walked down the long line, they couldn't help but stare up at the lit sky.

As they walked down the carpet, they felt uncertainty, fear, but most of all, awe.

"The moon…it is real." They witnessed above and around them, for the first time since they had stepped into the depths of the building, the real world. It was a sight of wonder, and most of all, relief. The game had led them to this moment, to the top of the roof of the building: a building where, within its confinements, he or she had endured eight difficult, life-changing worlds.

And as they walked further, they saw the lone figure already waiting in the center of the roof.

"Hello," McHallyboo spoke, standing in a large circle of green. The player walked, then after a few moments, finally reached the host. She or he stood at the green circle's border and looked at the center of the roof before them with uneasiness. The green circle glowed luminously and heavily under the bright moon.

"Please enter the circle of truth," McHallyboo demanded, and under the host's order, the player entered.

They both stood still, standing in the center of the grand building's top. The player, for a moment, looked fearful.

"Since the very first episode...there was a Mole among you," McHallyboo began. "And nine players went on the hunt to look for this betrayer. And one by one...with no mercy from the traitor themself...they fell." The player only listened to the host's words, not daring to speak.

"Episode after episode...they succumbed to the Mole's traps. From Lineland Road, to the wintery lands of Farh Outpos, from the mysterious ocean itself and to an island, a kingdom, and a farmland of suspicious proportions...the Mole had taken victim after victim in this diabolical game." The player nodded, their eyes rigid and focused with anxiousness. With each word the host spoke, they sunk deeper into troubled emotions and uncertainty.

"And now...it is my job...to tell you your final results of this game," McHallyboo said, his voice serious. The player was still, but they detected the gravity in the host's voice. They took in a breath.

"…I am ready for the final results, McHallyboo..." the player spoke, their voice barely above an audible whisper. Then, McHallyboo let out a sigh.

"And I am...sorry," was all the host continued to say. "But…" The player, for a second, looked shocked. But then, they immediately nodded, looking down at the green floor of the rooftop in a moment of loss and defeat.

"I...completely understand," they replied in a weak voice.

As McHallyboo opened his mouth to speak out the next sentence, the player slightly winced, expecting the worst.

"You are the winner of The Mole: Agent's Elevation. Congratulations."

And then the winner looked up with wide eyes. They were, for a long time, stunned in words. They could not take in the words by McHallyboo clearly.

"I...have won the game?" With a face beyond shock and surprise, the winner only looked at McHallyboo in stunned silence. The host's smile was bigger than ever before.

"Congratulations," the host repeated. "You beat the Mole."

"That...but that is not possible! I was very sure that…"

"That someone else had won this game?" McHallyboo said with a little laugh. "No." The true winner of the entire game was still in complete silence. They looked at the host, who still kept on smiling, more than McHallyboo had ever smiled before in the building.

"I cannot...believe this," stated the winner, facing the floor in lost emotions. "No...it isn't true...it cannot be true..." The host only smiled and nodded in reply.

"But you did it," the host reassured. "And you solved the mystery. Congratulations!"

"Then...that means...the Mole is truly-!"

DING!

And then, the third elevator had risen to the top of the building of betrayal, containing the final player of the game. And once the metal car had elevated to the building's top, the large set of doors opened.

And then, the Mole spoke out.

"Yes...I suppose you are right," spoke the player from within the elevator strongly, having heard every word upon the grand roof. "I am indeed the Mole."

"At last...you are here again," McHallyboo said, grinning. The winner and the host both saw the Mole at once. He or she was standing within the risen, symbolic elevator, situated perfectly at the edge of the building. Their elevator was now open, and for the first time ever, the world knew. The Mole was exposed to the world.

"Mole...please come here," the host ordered. The Mole nodded.

The traitor, saboteur and agent above all had elevated to the top of the building of treachery and mistrust.

Eclair stepped her way out of the risen elevator calmly.

She was the Mole.

Flurrie looked pleased. Bowser Jr. coughed on his food. Mimi yelled. Dry Bones jumped out of his seat. Zess hollered with excitement. Snifit nodded. McHallyboo smiled.

"WHAAAAAAAATTT!"

Everyone's faces were either aghast, appalled, or astonished. They had just witnessed the final moment of the intense game of chaos, adventure and deceit. But the results were right before them, and it was the truth. The truth of the Mole.

"So it was Eclair the entire time!" Zess hollered, cackling loudly. "Why, I'll be! I guessed right, and even I'm stunned!"

Dashell's face was blank.

"No no no no no, no!" Mimi shrieked. "This is all wrong!" She covered her face, not wanting to accept the truth.

"Ladies and gentlemen," McHallyboo said, amidst their yelling and shouts of disbelief. "The Mole."

"This game is just bonkers," Bowser Jr. laughed. "I'll never understand it! Someone give us all a break." He wiped a sweatdrop from his forehead.

"First, Tiny NOT being the Mole, and then Eclair...IS the Mole of the game?!" Dry Bones moaned. He dropped his food back onto his plate, pouting and not hungry anymore.

"I…" Everyone turned to Dashell. The pixl had finally spoken.

"...I am...okay...wait…" Dashell's face was as blank as his thinking process. As they looked at him, they saw that his entire body was completely immobile. Snifit turned to look at Dashell.

"Hey...umm...Dashell...are you okay?" Snifit said, a little worriedly.

"Leave him be, sweetie," Flurrie whispered, leaning over to him. Snifit immediately closed his mouth.

"Nothing else to do but watch the rest of the events unfold, huh?" Dry Bones groaned. He folded his arms, sulking.

"I suppose so…." McHallyboo smiled.

And the television continued to play.

The agent had just been revealed.

"We meet again on the roof, McHallyboo," Eclair spoke in a soft voice. McHallyboo grinned.

"Please come this way...Mole," the host replied.

Eclair calmly walked towards the center of the building's roof, heading down her own green trail as if it was the path of destruction itself. And step by step, with her green dress flowing in the wind behind her, the agent had finally reached the circle of truth. It only took a small moment for her to walk across the rooftop of betrayal and reach the host and winner, and then once she had done so, she entered the green circle. All had been revealed.

Eclair then turned to face the winner.

"Congratulations," Eclair told him, putting a hand to her chest and smiling at them. "I had faith...in you."

Piantissimo, the winner of the game, only looked back at her in speechless silence.

"I do not know what to say or do anymore," he stammered. "I…am..." He paused, and for a second, he tried to regain his composure from the initial shock.

"You are…?" McHallyboo said, amused and teasingly at the winner's emotional reaction of disbelief. Then, a few seconds passed, and Piantissimo looked up and cleared his throat, then spoke again.

"I am...humbled by all of this," he replied.

"And I would have never thought that I'd ever hear you say," McHallyboo added, shaking his head at the winner's previous statement early, "that you didn't believe you had won something. Never in my life." Piantissimo grinned, shrugging.

"I guarantee to you, with all my heart, that you will never hear anything of the sort from me ever again," he replied smoothly, a gleam in his eye. But it was a tear in his eye, and the other two knew that he was emotional, humbled...and happy.

"Thank...thank you," he uttered quietly, looking at the ground. "Thank you both. Thank you...all." Piantissimo seemed to take a few steps back, almost involuntarily, out of the circle of truth. The other two could see that he was still in a trance of shock, and he needed a second to himself to take in what had transpired.

"Oh, dear…" Eclair smiled, as the host turned to her.

"Well, well, well…" McHallyboo said, turning to look at none other than the very Mole herself. "You are certainly right. We finally meet on the roof again, do we not?" Eclair nodded, contemplating with thought.

"Yes...but now, instead of the game beginning...it is ending," she replied, looking into the distance of the land before them a little sadly.

"Yes..." was the host's wistful reply. McHallyboo did the same as well, staring off into the dark land before them.

But after a second, they realized something else, and they slowly came to discover that they were both happy. The night sky was glistening with a plethora of stars, and it was more wonderful than anything they had seen in the building. The breath-taking land and sky existing around the game's building was truly beautiful.

"May I ask...a question?" Eclair suddenly said. The host turned to her, a little confused.

"Yes, well...there is nothing left to conspire about, but I'm sure a question of sort is still acceptable," the host, not knowing what she would ask him next. Eclair closed her eyes for a second. Then, she asked her question.

"What is a Mole?" she asked him, and immediately after asking it, her mouth formed into a smile. McHallyboo's mouth immediately matched her smile as well, a knowing grin on his face.

"What is a Mole?" repeated the figure in the blue top hat, reiterating the question that was just asked to him. He chuckled. But this time, he gave out a different answer, different than the one which he had given out in the very beginning of the game.

He took in a breath, then replied with a soft smile. All was concealed no more.

"The Mole...is a princess named Eclair."
