Chapter Six
Part 1
Victoria pulled me into the grand kitchen and pulled out a stool from the kitchen island. You could see miles and miles of darkness through the glass window in the little nook they had.
"Sit, and I'll bring you some food, you must be hungry." On cue, my stomach growled. She smiled and started pulling things out of the fridge.
"Well, who do we have here?" I heard a voice twanged from behind me. I whirled around to face a tall, voluptuous blonde sashaying into the kitchen. She was attractive, like everyone in this fucking house. She came to stand a couple of inches too close to me. "I'm Tanya, and who might you be darling?" she pushed back a tendril of hair behind my ear.
What the fuck?
"I'm Bella Swan," I said politely, moving the stool away.
"It's nice to meet you, Miss. Swan." Tanya winked as she went around the counter.
"I hope you don't mind steak." Victoria put a plate in front of me with a massive piece of steak that looked a bit rare. I glance up at her, gulping, not wanting to offend her. For all I know, they could be planning my murder.
"Thank you," I said, pulling the plate closer to me. "Stop stalling and tell me why the fuck I was dragged to the middle of fucking nowhere?" I snapped as I stood up from the stool.
"Come sit then," James gestured towards the unoccupied chair in front of him.
"First of all, what are you?" I spat. "That shit you pulled outside was insane." I am hoping this is all a dream.
"We are vampires," my eyes grew wide as my hands grew clammy. My heart was pounding. "Don't be afraid. We do not bite…without your permission." James looked to Victoria and Tanya. They all laughed. I didn't find it funny at all. I was ready to leave.
"Why am I here?" I asked.
"We will get to that part. Two-thousand years ago, there was a witch named Merdia, who created an immortal being successfully. The immortal being was a male by the name of Klaus. He was able to harvest the earth's power and bend it to his will. The being also found out that he could harvest the celestial powers, but he could not control them."
"What do you mean by celestial powers? Like a god?" I asked, confused.
"No, just the powers of the planets in our solar system, stars, and moons," James explained. "Merdia mated with her immortal creation and produced two offspring, Asteria and Damon. Asteria was able to harvest celestial powers and control them, whereas Damon could not. As a family, they spent over a thousand years traveling from different worlds, creating spells, meeting different magical beings, and so on. I have a small library with some of their books."
"Was Merdia immortal?" I asked.
"No, she was not, but she created spells using parts of magical beings from the other worlds to keep her alive." He clarified.
"But the little family she created was?"
"Yes. When it became time for Asteria to find a mate, she desired to create her own as her mother did. She had created an immortal being that was very powerful, using the knowledge she had acquired. The mate she created was able to harvest the power of almost everything except darkness because it was forbidden. But Asteria used a faint amount of darkness creating him, yet he was not evil. He had wit, speed, sensuality, and he had a thirst."
"A thirst?" I asked.
"Yes, this being thirsted for blood. He is the original. He created us, some indirectly." James waved his hand around. "They experimented with her mate's powers, Asteria quickly realized that he could create more beings like him without her magic, but not as powerful. In a sense, though, we are different from him because we were humans first. The first vampire that Asteria's mate created was a man named Carlisle.
The small village where Carlisle lived was raided, and when Asteria and her mate passed through, the only person found somewhat alive was him. Her mate thirsted for his blood, but she wanted Carlisle to stay alive. She knew that her mate's blood had special healing powers, so she made Carlisle drink the blood, but her mate couldn't hold his thirst and drained Carlisle of his blood. They buried him.
A week later, while fixing the village for themselves, they found Carlisle alive drinking from an animal. They didn't know at that time that drinking animal blood makes them sick. Together Carlisle and Asteria's mate learned things about vampires. They had also created more, but that's a whole other story."
Part 2 is coming soon. What do you think?
