(A/N: I hope everyone enjoyed the previous chapter and enjoys this one. In case you missed the note in the last chapter, there will be a sort of hint towards Helene's heritage. It won't be in great detail, but probably enough to get anyone's gears going.)

Heather was immediately thrown into a cell once they returned to Berk. She escaped a number of times, only to be recaptured before she could reach an escape boat.

Hiccup was the one who had the unfortunate pleasure of informing Stoick of what happened and how the Outcasts now have the book of dragons. To say that he was upset and concerned was an understatement, but he was glad his son and his friends were safely back home.

The morning after, Hiccup pulled Helene, Astrid, and Fishlegs aside to explain his plan to them. While they were a little sceptical at first, especially Helene, they thought it could work.

Now, Helene sat in a chair in Gobber's hut while he colored her hair to make it look more like Heather's. Hiccup and Astrid stood by and watched as this was occurring, just to make sure that it looked perfect.

While she was reluctant at first, she was probably the only one who could pull it off. She resembled Heather in height and body type, although hers was a little more athletic and lithe, and she knew her before the others did, which gave her an advantage. She hoped that these advantages would give her the upper hand when this plan was put into action.

Gobber brushed on a little more of the dye on her hair. She involuntarily pulled away when the scent hit her nostrils, it was quite pungent for her personal preference.

"What is this again?" she inquired.

"An old family recipe my grandmother taught me," Gobber answered. "Made from charcoal and fish oil."

"But won't Alvin be suspicious if I smell like charcoal and fish oil?" she asked.

"I'm glad you asked. You see, I had the same idea, so what I did was I experimented with multiple scents to mask the smell," he explained. "And the one I settled on was... pine cones!" He held up the item of his choice.

'Well that explains the scent,' she thought.

He added on some finishing touches to the top of her head. That was where her hair would have to be the darkest so that the color wouldn't fade away so quickly.

Gobber admired his work and handed her a mirror to allow her to look, "Voila! What do you think?"

She moved her head to both sides to see her freshly colored hair. She wasn't exactly sure if she liked it, but then again she wasn't supposed to, it was only temporarily and it was just until she could find the book of dragons and retrieve it.

Hiccup, on the other hand, was amazed by how it really made her look almost exactly like Heather. "Wow, Gobber, I gotta say you definitely out did yourself, she looks like she could be Heather's twin."

'Oh, Thor, no,' she mentally groaned.

Astrid came up to her and gave her a set of clothes, "Here."

She looked at them and noticed that they looked strikingly identical to Heather's clothes. Even down to the patches on the sides.

"Um, please tell me these aren't…" she trailed off.

"Don't worry, we had Fishlegs' mother make them look like what Heather wears," Hiccup assured.

Well, that was a relief. Heather was her friend, but after lying to them and stealing Stormfly she didn't want to even look at anything associated with her. She was just doing this to get back the book, that's it.

She went into the back to put the clothes on. When she was done, she came out with a smile and a hand on her hip.

Hiccup's jaw dropped when she came out, "Wow, you look- wow."

If she wasn't one of her closest friends, Astrid would be so jealous that she would have the temper of a swirling volcano. Although, even she had to admit that she looked really good in those clothes, even if they were an exact copy of the clothing worn by the person who stole her dragon.

"Now, there's just one thing left to do," Astrid mentioned, holding up a finger.

"Which is?" Helene inquired.

"Your hair," she answered. "If she's like any other girl I know, I'm betting she probably styles her hair the same every day."

"Well, this might be of some help," Hiccup handed Astrid a piece of paper.

When she looked at it, she saw that it was a drawing of Heather. A drawing with carefully drawn, accurate details.

She gave him a look and crossed her arms, "You drew a picture of her?"

He stood nervously stiff, "Well, I, uh, just wanted you to, uh, have a piece of reference for just this type of situation." She scoffed and rolled her eyes.

She stood behind her to pull her hair back while she sat in the chair again. She studied the drawing while braiding her hair to make it look like how Heather styles it.

After some trial and error, she finally finished. "How does it look?"

"Wow, it looks great," he smiled. "You've really outdone yourself this time, Astrid."

"Thanks, Hiccup," she smiled back proudly. "Now, what do you say we put this plan into action?"

"I say, let's do it," Helene stood up with a confident expression.

They made their way down to the beach on the south side of the island, it was the direction where Outcast Island was located. There, a boat was being loaded for her departure.

The twins tackled her and pinned her to the ground, mistaking her for Heather. In their defense, she did look almost exactly like her.

Hiccup relayed the plan to her once more as she got into the boat. Smog tried to get into it with her, but she wouldn't let him.

"No, no, Smog you have to stay here, you can't come with me," she told him gently. He nuzzled her forehead with a sad squawk and reluctantly backed away. "Don't worry, boy, I'll be alright."

She began to pull in the rope while everyone came up to her to wish her good luck. The last one to say goodbye was Astrid.

She extended her fist to her in a friendly gesture, "Be safe."

She returned the gesture with a smile, "I will. You take care of my dragon for me."

She nodded, "I will."

Snotlout and Fishlegs worked together to push the boat out into the water. Once that was done, she watched as she drifted further away from Berk, her friends all stood on the beach and watched until they lost sight of her. Smog roared at the top of his lungs when he could no longer see her.

She looked away with a soft sigh and sat down. She heard her dragon's call out to her, she felt his grief, but this was the only way to get back the book without putting their dragons at risk.

There was no turning back now. Next stop, Outcast Island.

With Helene gone, the others started to prepare to put the rest of the plan into action. They were just about ready to leave, but Astrid decided to pay a quick visit to Heather.

She sat in her cell with her knees to her chest. She had her back to the bars so that no one could see her face.

"We're about to leave," Astrid spoke. She said nothing. "And when we get back, we're sending your ass back to where you came from." She began to walk away, "Oh, and by the way, one of my best friends is risking her life to fix what you did."

She somehow knew who she was talking about and whispered, "Helene."

"That's right, and if she doesn't make it back, it's your head on the line," she growled.

She was about to walk out when Heather's frantic voice stopped her, "Astrid, wait! You have to take me with you!"

"And why would I do that?" she asked.

"Because she's walking into a trap," she confided.

Her eyes went wide and she turned around, "What?!"

"When I made my deal with Alvin, he said he would only let my parents go if I came back with the book. If not, he would kill me and my parents on the spot," she explained. "Now that they have the book, they'll dispose of her because I'm no longer useful to them."

"Helene," she whispered, "she doesn't know."

"Please, you have to let me come with you," she begged.

If she was lying, they could be flying right into a trap. However, if she was being truthful, it meant that one of best friends was in imminent danger.

She thought about this for a second before she made a decision. With grudging reluctance, she opened the cell.

She sailed into Outcast waters after many hours out at sea. Wild dragons soared down from above to attack her boat and take her food, which she willingly gave them, she was in no mood to eat anyway.

She flinched when the whole boat shook when she made contact with the island shore. Outcasts immediately came up to her boat and she climbed out just as Alvin's right-hand, Savage approached.

"Well, well, what do we have here? I thought you'd been captured?" he questioned.

"Uh, I did, but I got away," she answered.

"Well then, glad you're alright. Kill her," he suddenly demanded and all of the Outcasts pointed their crossbows at her.

"What?!" she shrieked.

"We don't need you anymore," he said.

If she wasn't nervous before, she was panicking now. She now wished she allowed Smog to come with her.

'Wait,' she thought when she remembered something, 'that's right, they have the book, but they can't possibly know what to do with it.' She crossed her arms with a calm smile, "Fine, I guess you really don't want to know anything about training dragons."

"What are you talking about?" he spat. "We have the book."

"The book will only get you so far," she claimed, "if you really want to know I can show you, but how can I show you if I'm dead?"

He thought about that for a moment, "You might be right." He grabbed onto her wrist, "I'm taking you to Alvin, don't try anything stupid."

True to his word, he did take her directly to the chief of the Outcasts himself, Alvin the Treacherous. If she thought Stoick was a large man, Alvin was colossal and to say she was scared upon first sight of him was an understatement.

Although, he certainly looked different than she imagined. While he looked like a standard Viking, she was surprised to see that he had the same hair color and eye color she did.

"She claims that need her because the book won't get us very far," Savage said.

He ordered one of his men to bring him the book and flipped through the pages. "Seems pretty straightforward to me."

"Oh, trust me, it's anything but," she replied calmly.

He didn't seem to be falling for it, "Oh, yeah? Well it's in my experience that people will say anything to keep themselves alive. Isn't that right, Savage?"

He was quick to agree, "Oh, yes, of course, Alvin."

He smiled at his point being made, "See? If you ask me, this is nothing but a ploy."

She shrugged casually, "Okay, give it a try."

He tossed the book to a guard, "You heard the girl."

He nervously walked up to a Deadly Nadder they were having trouble restraining. "Uh, what dragon is it?"

She could have either laughed or rolled her eyes, "It's a Deadly Nadder. You need help?"

"Nope, nope, it's right here. Deadly Nadder, enjoys preening, very sure of itself, constant grooming. Okay I'll appeal to its vanity," he said. "Well, you sure are a beautiful girl," the dragon tilted its head, expecting more, "or are you a handsome boy? W-Who can tell?"

It growled at him and shot its spines at him. They pinned him to the wall behind him.

She looked at Alvin with raised eyebrow and a closed mouth smirk, "See? So much more than you think."

He snorted, "Oh, alright, you've convinced me, but now you're going to show me how you do it."

She frowned, 'Oh, no.'

He started to take her down a chamber that led to the killing arena. He walked beside her in case she tried anything foolish.

He glanced down at her as they walked, he couldn't explain it but he thought she reminded him of someone. Someone very dear to him, who he lost many years ago.

"You're very gutsy, I'll give you that," he remarked.

'Thanks, I guess,' she thought.

"Not even the toughest Vikings would have the stomach to stand up to me," he smiled to himself. He then added, almost to himself, "The first and last was a woman with hair like fire and eyes like emeralds. Makes me wonder how my daughter grew up."

'Daughter?' she mentally asked. 'He has a daughter?'

They took her to the arena and two guards pushed her inside. 'Okay, time to put this plan into action,' she thought. She turned to Alvin and held her hand out expectantly.

"What the hell is it now?!" he practically snapped.

"The book," she answered. "I didn't memorize it."

Grudgingly, he took it from his belt and gave it to her. He forced her into the arena and the door was closed and locked behind her.

She clutched the book nervously as she thought of the dragon she would have to train. Almost every dragon she ever interacted with, besides her own, was already tamed. This would be her first time having any contact with a wild dragon on her own.

The dragons she had the most experience with were Smothering Smokebreaths and Night Furies, but seeing as how no one would willingly go to Breakneck Bog and knowing that Toothless was the last of his kind, she knew that the possibilities of the Outcasts having either one were slim to none. Besides Smog and Toothless, the dragon she had the most experience with was the Deadly Nadder seeing how it was the dragon Astrid rode, she even occasionally flew Stormfly. With that in mind, she hoped that the wild dragon would be a Deadly Nadder.

She hugged the book and prayed to the gods, "Please be a Nadder, please be a Nadder, please be a Nadder."

The door to the stall containing the dragon she was to tame was raised and a burst of flames came out of it and out into the open. It was a Monstrous Nightmare, a dragon she did not know how to fly and knew very little about training.

"Oh, great," she groaned, opening the book and looking through it, "the one time I wish Snotlout was here."

She found the page on Monstrous Nightmares and looked through the paragraphs and notes to find anything on training. The description was a little vague, but she thought she could make it work.

She began to approach him with an outstretched hand. Before she could get too close, he shot a flame at her, but she was able to get out of the way by hitting the deck.

She set the book on the ground and kicked it out of the way. "Okay, we tried it the book's way, now we'll try it my way."

She began to take cautious steps towards him before she began to walk around in a circle around him. He followed her movements and moved with her to keep her in his line of sight.

She was about to start talking to him to calm him, but something in her told her not to. For some reason, she felt like she had to sing instead of simply talking.

"Will the darkness fall upon me,

When the air is growing thin?

Will the light begin to pull me,

To its everlasting will?

I can hear the voices haunting

There is nothing left to fear

And I am still calling

I am still calling to you…"

Her singing voice was very soft and soothing and it seemed to be calming the Monstrous Nightmare quite well, much to the amazement of Alvin. However, she could tell that she hadn't gotten through to him yet, although he was calm now, he still had this hostile air about him; she continued with the song.

"Are you with me after all?

Why can't I hear you?

Are you with me through it all?

Then why can't I feel you?

Stay with me, don't let me go

Because there's nothing left at all

Stay with me, don't let me go

Please don't let me fall…"

The song got through to him and his eyes softened. She approached him and placed a hand on his snout, just as she's done plenty of times before. He closed his eyes at her touch.

He lowered his head to allow her onto his back. She sat down on him and patted the side of his face.

"Come on, what do you say we get out of here?" she asked. He raised his head and smiled up at her.

Outcast guards came rushing into the arena with weapons in hand. The Monstrous Nightmare shot a flame at them and it knocked them down.

"Just where do you think you're going?" Alvin asked from above.

"As far away from here as possible!" she spat.

"Without your parents?" He gestured to a couple his guards brought out.

"Parents?" she muttered. "She really was telling the truth?!"

"If you don't give me that book now, I'll kill 'em! So what's it gonna be, Heather?" he queried.

"Send them down first!" she shouted.

He growled and grumbled to himself, but complied with her demands nonetheless. He and some guards took them down there.

As soon as the door opened, she got down from the back of the Monstrous Nightmare and went up Heather's parents. She embraced them to make it look like she was their daughter, although they could tell she was not. They did vaguely recognize her, though.

"Mom! Dad! I'm a friend of Heather's, I'm here to help," she whispered to them to prevent the Outcasts from hearing her. Her voice almost wrenched at the word 'friend', but she was able to keep it together.

"Is she okay?" Heather's mother asked.

'Yes, she's sitting comfortably in a cell,' she thought, slightly sarcastic. "Yes, she's fine. She's on Berk."

"Well? I'm waiting!" Alvin's harsh voice interjected.

At that moment, she could have envisioned herself whistling a signal to the dragon behind her and he would have ignited his body and shot flames at Alvin and his soldiers. Afterwards, she would take over and attempt to finish off the treacherous man before her so she could reunite with her friends and her dragon and Heather would be reunited with her parents.

All of that, however, was just a thought, or a desire. She went up to Alvin and handed him the book, if it meant a higher chance of survival, she was willing to give him what he wanted.

He patted her on the head, "Good girl, right choice." She glared at him and he could have laughed, "Oh, don't look so morose, just be happy that I'm in a good enough mood to let you live. For now, Heather." He looked at his hand and saw that the dye in her hair had come off, "Or are ya?"

He drew his sword and pointed it at her throat. Oh, he could have killed her then and there, but decided not to. He wasn't sure if he, for some reason, didn't want to or if he wanted some information before he did.

"Now, you're going to tell me who you really are," he growled.

Her lips were stiff and she still glared at him. She wasn't telling him anything.

That was fine. He had other ways of getting it out of her.

He pressed the tip against the center of her throat, "If you don't talk in the next ten seconds, you won't have to worry about headaches anymore."

Finally, she talked, "I'm Trader Johann's daughter. I now live on Berk."

He could have either laughed or shouted, he didn't know that charismatic con-artist even had a daughter. However, he felt that she was being truthful.

He then got her to give up the plan she and her friends came up with, with a little incentive when she refused to talk. He forced her to lead them to the location where she would be meeting them, he threatened Heather's parents if she didn't.

She could hear someone giving out signals, probably either Snotlout or the twins. Once they were in her sight and she was in theirs, she saw that Heather was with them. She wasn't sure why and, frankly, she didn't care. She waved to them and they came over.

Heather grinned when she saw her parents and got down from Stormfly's back to reunite with them. Hiccup looked at her with a confused expression.

"She was telling the truth, just go with the plan," she whispered in a slightly harsh voice.

As if on cue, Alvin's men suddenly jumped out and began to shoot arrows and throw bolas and nets at them. The dragons fought back aggressively to defend their riders while Hiccup went after Alvin to retrieve the book.

Unfortunately, the Outcasts were eventually able to immobilize the dragons with bolas over their mouths and legs and nets over their bodies. Hiccup was also unable to retrieve the book and Toothless got wrapped up in ropes.

It looked like it was all over, with no defenses and surrounded by armed soldiers it seemed hopeless. Then, a fog surrounded them and the dragons were freed one by one.

Helene inhaled the fog and discovered that it wasn't fog at all, it was smoke. She grinned and looked up, she saw the source and her smile widened. It was her dragon.

She could have cried tears of joy when she saw him, "Smog!"

The Smothering Smokebreath chirped happily when he saw her safe. He began to make his way down to her.

She held her arms out to him and he was just about to reach her, but a bola wrapped around his body and he fell to the ground. He cried out in distress.

"No!" she shouted.

Before she could rush over to free her trapped dragon, Alvin grabbed her from behind and put her into a chokehold. His sword was near her head.

"Let her go!" Hiccup demanded.

"I have a better idea, how about you join me and we'll use our combined knowledge to take over the entire archipelago? Unless you don't want to save your little friend," he held the sword closer to her.

Toothless prepared to fire a plasma blast, but Hiccup stopped him. The other dragons tried too, but their riders held them back.

They didn't know what to do, if they fired at him there was the risk that they could hurt Helene, or worse. What other option did they have? They would have to comply with his demands.

She looked up at the sky, praying to the gods to help them. Her prayers were answered when she saw a friend in the air.

She took in a deep breath and began to sing. She sang the song she sang while in the arena.

"Stay with me, don't let me go

Because there's nothing left at all

Stay with me, don't let me go

Please don't let me fall…"

Fortunately, her song was able to reach who she was calling out to. It was the Monstrous Nightmare she befriended.

He immediately flew down and fired down on the Outcasts. He freed Smog by removing the bindings around him with his talons. He shot at Alvin, who raised his arms to defend himself, releasing her in the process.

He lowered his head again to allow her to get onto his back. He raised his head high and roared, she held onto his horns in the slight fear that she would fall off.

"Smog, smoke screen," she commanded.

He complied and took flight, flying around in circles while releasing the smoke from his mouth. A smoke cloud soon covered the area, disorienting the Outcasts and providing them the perfect cover to take back the book of dragons.

With the book now safely back in their hands, they flew upwards to get out of the cloud. Helene was glad, if she has to set foot on Outcast Island again it would be too soon.

Smog flew to her side and nuzzled her tenderly. He chirped a couple of times cheerfully. He was over the moon to have her back, he missed her so much.

She laughed, "I missed you, too."

"He's not the only one," Astrid commented with a smile.

"Nice to see you put your dragon training knowledge to the test. Great job," Hiccup congratulated.

"Thanks," she smiled. She patted her new friend on the side of his face, "I'm sure you'll like it on Berk." He roared happily.

"And, hey, it looks like you can finally fly around with us," he remarked.

She then frowned with uncertainty, "Uh, Hiccup, I'm not sure if I'm ready to fly around on my own dragon yet. I mean, I already have Smog and just think that having two dragons is a little too much for me right now."

She now felt really bad, she was speaking what she thought was best for her, but perhaps not for the dragon. She knew it was unhealthy to have these feelings after only knowing this dragon for a couple of hours.

Hiccup noticed this and flew beside her, "Hey, chin up, we'll find a good rider for him. In the meantime, you can continue to fly with one of us."

She smiled softly, "Thanks, Hiccup, I mean it."

They took Heather and her family back to Berk and explained what happened upon arrival to Stoick. He requested a ship to be prepared for them so they could return to their island.

Helene arrived on the dock just as they finished loading the ship. She had just let the Monstrous Nightmare go, he was very content with his new home and eagerly went straight to the forest. She assumed that he just wasn't ready to have a full-time rider on his back, just like how she wasn't ready to have another dragon.

Heather's parents got onto the ship while she stayed on the dock for a moment, "I can't thank you guys enough for what you did, especially you, Astrid, and you too, Helene."

"Glad we could help," Astrid smiled with her arms crossed.

She then looked at Helene and asked her in a slightly shy manner, "So, um, do you think we could ever become friends again?"

She smiled and nodded, "I think so."

She jumped down from the dock and onto the deck of the ship. Her father untied the rope from the dock and they began to sail away.

They watched as they drifted further and further away from Berk. They waved goodbye and she waved back at them. While they were a little sad to see her leave, they were glad for her now that she was returning home with her family.

"What do you guys think? Do you think we'll ever see her again?" Hiccup asked.

"Only time will tell," Helene answered.

"Yeah, only time will tell," Astrid echoed.

It was still sunset outside and it was just beginning to border on darkness. While it was light outside, Helene didn't care, she was very tired, she hadn't slept in almost two days.

She had just finished washing out the rest of the dye out of her hair. It was refreshing to have clean hair, especially after some stressful days.

She combed her freshly washed hair before she laid down on her bed. Smog went to his nest and laid down in it, he hardly got any sleep while she was gone.

He was quick to fall asleep, but it took her a few minutes before she closed her eyes. Before long, she eventually drifted off into a well-earned sleep.

There was just one thing in the back of her mind when she fell asleep, the daughter Alvin the Treacherous was talking about. Perhaps she would soon figure it out in the near future, along with her friends.

(A/N: How'd you guys like reading part 2 of "Heather Report"? I know I really enjoyed writing this, even if it did take me a little while due to the case of writer's block I caught.

The song she sang to the Monstrous Nightmare is "Ashes of Eden" by Breaking Benjamin. It pretty much follows the song word for word, except for the line "Please don't let me fall". The actual line is "When the ashes of Eden fall", I changed it because I felt it better fit the events of the chapter.)
