Chapter 6: Demitri Maximoff

Danny only blinked.

This man, with red hair going straight up and a blue and purple Victorian-like suit and cape, was a bat a moment ago. Danny realized this is some kind of vampire.

"Uh… Jon? Who is this?" He asked.

Jon Talbain was keeping his guard up, keeping an eye on Demitri, even as he answered.

"This, Danny Phantom, is Demitri Maximoff, lord of the Vampires and one of the most powerful Darkstalkers in existence."

"I am the most powerful of the Darkstalker and all of the Makai Realm!" Demitri insisted. "You should know your place when describing an A+ class, especially since you're a simple B+ class."

"Uh… what does he mean? Do you have homework or something?" Danny asked.

"Long story, Darkstalkers are classed by rank in power and strength, I'm B+, he's a higher A+, the S rank is the last. They're considered the cream of the crop." Jon explained.

"So… where would I rank?" Danny asked, his curiosity taking over common sense.

"From what I see, you might be a B+ as well, considering the mummy Anakaris could sink all of Egypt in minutes…" Jon explained.

Danny only stared at that.

"Your world is sounding crazier every minute, which is saying something since yesterday I dated a girl with pink skin and acid powers in a world of all superheroes…" Danny said.

Demitri fake coughed to get their attention. He did not enjoy being ignored.

"Talbain? Who is this?" Demitri asked.

"Right, introductions… this is Danny Phantom, he's been helping me heal while Lord Raptor, BB Hood and Q-Bee came to attack me." He explained. "Now it's my turn for questions. You and I have no real quarrel, Maximoff. What did the human who sent you here promise to make you come after me?"

Maximoff only scoffed.

"You are wrong in your assumption. My interest is not in capturing you or whatever pathetic rewards he offers. I only sought a new Earth to add to the list of worlds I plan to rule and new foes to defeat." Maximoff stated.

The werewolf narrowed his eyes upon hearing that.

"How many humans have you slain so far to satisfy your hunger?" Jon questioned.

"None, I have no idea what their blood will taste like. Although, I may need to get used to it. Still...I seek some form of entertainment… Come and face me, if you can!" Demitri challenged them

Danny and Jon still kept their ground, getting ready to begin fighting Demitri.

''I'm open to strategies and ideas on how to fight this guy..." Danny said.

"Afraid to say there aren't many." Jon says.

"Great." Danny said with sarcasm before directing his attention to Demitri. "Hey, I already got a dude who looks like a vampire causing me trouble, so why not go back to your coffin or wherever you sleep?!"

Demitri scoffed.

"You do not have the right or power to speak to me, much less command me." He said before turning to Jon. "Best leave, before you end up like your mother did." He taunted.

Jon glared at him, snarling.

"That is a low blow..." Jon said to his foe.

Demitri only flew at them, eager to find his entertainment.

Danny and Jon dodged before he could claw them, ready to brawl.

Inside

While Danny and Jon fought Demitri, Team Phantom were trying to deal with the now frozen Q-Bee. They kept her ice block in the living room after careful pushing around.

"Releazze me!" Q-Bee yelled at them while she was still frozen from the neck down.

"Will you shut it?!" Sam asked harshly.

"I will devour you all!" She shouted.

It was then Tucker noticed the floor was looking soaked and he had a bad thought.

"The ice will melt. What do we do?" Tucker asked.

"I say stuff her somewhere she can't break out..." Sam said, still wanting to be rid of her and help Danny and Jon.

"We could put her in the weapons' vault. Danny still didn't install the handle and I doubt she'll know how to use anything in there." Jazz suggested.

Sam shrugs.

"Works for me."

On the rooftop.

"Man, it's like your world loves fighting games and horror movies." Danny commented, since he encountered a lot of creatures he only saw in horror movies. "Look Count Jerk-ula, I just dealt with a zombie, a crazy blonde who wants to stab and or make out with me and a bee monster, so I don't really wanna do this, so how about you take your fellow B-list monsters and go back to Darkverse or what movie franchise you guys are from or I'm gonna do it for you."

"You think you can order me around? Amusing." Demitri said with a sneer.

"Guess I'm doing it for you then." Danny said as he cracked his knuckles.

"I'll lend you a hand." Jon said, his lips turning into a snarl.

"Then come! Show me what you can do!" Demitri challenged.

"Gladly!" Danny said as he flew in with a fist raised, throwing it to Demitri.

However, before it could reach its target, Demitri had already moved aside and backhanded Danny.

The impact sent him several feet away before he landed on a different rooftop.

"My turn!" Jon shouted, running on all fours before jumping towards Demitri with his Beast Cannon attack.

Demitri blocked the attack with his arm before Jon followed with rapid kicks before he aimed his claws at Demitri's face. Demitri grabbed Jon's arm before his claw could reach his face.

"Do not be a fool…" Demitri said as he hovered off the rooftop by several feet. "Just give up or suffer."

"You do not belong here! This world is not for us!" Jon shouted.

"Do you actually think you can win?!" Demitri challenged. "Then let me show you where you stand!"

Demitri flew higher before he used his Negative Stolen to pile drive Jon towards the street, slamming him to it before he tossed Jon away, firing his Chaos Flare towards him. Jon quickly swiped at the bat-shaped fireball before rushing towards Demitri, who growled before he fired a swarm of fire bats, which flew towards Jon. In response, Jon used his animalistic abilities and nunchucks to swat the bats away from him.

The bats flew above him before dispersing, revealing Demitri, who used his Bat Spin attack, spinning like a drill, which Jon endured. Once Demitri was done, Jon unleashed a flurry of kicks that Demitri blocked by turning his cape into wings and shielding himself with them. Demitri then rushed towards Jon after he was done with his kicks.

"Midnight Cradle!" Demitri shouted. Surprised, Jon was blown away from the fast attack, causing him to land on his back. "Behold my Demon Blast!" Demitri shouted as he turned into a swarm of fire bats that rushed towards Jon.

The attack did not reach Jon as Danny stepped in with a ghost shield.

The fiery bat-like constructs were pushed back, returning Demitri to his humanoid form as he snarled in anger.

"Thanks, kid…" Jon said.

"You again!?" Demitri snarled at Danny.

"And I thought my powers were bizarre… still, gotta help!" Danny said as he turned the shield into a Ghost Ray, blasting Demitri back a few feet.

He quickly rushed to the vampire, attacking him with ecto-powered punches, hitting him on the stomach and face before sending him to the sky with an uppercut. He flew after him and aimed a kick, but Demitri quickly blocked with bat-like wings from his back.

Danny is struck by the wings Demitri used to attack by spinning, but not enough harm was done to make him back down. Danny fired at Demitri, who dodged them before he quickly rushed towards Danny.

"Demon Cradle!"

Before he could hit Danny, Jon was able to intercept Demitri's Dashing Demon Cradle and counter with a kick, sending him stumbling a few feet away.

"I thought you said this guy was a higher grade or whatever?" Danny asks, seeing that Jon was faster than Demitri.

"Darkstalker classes don't factor speed, only power limits and strength." Jon explained.

"So, we can beat him by being faster." Danny said. "Let's make him throw up."

Jon grinned before the two rushed towards him, becoming blurs. Demitri watched as the two spun around him. He tried to attack, but his attacks kept missing. Suddenly, he felt a punch to his face, followed by a kick on the back. He soon found himself at the center of a tornado of punches and kicks.

"Enough!" Demitri exclaimed as he was covered in an aura of fire, with two fire bats hovering near him. He then sent that bats to the side, hitting the two by surprise. He rushed at Jon with a Demon Cradle, sending him to a building before he jumped towards Danny, surprising him as he used his Bat Spin attack, spinning like a drill.

Thinking fast, Danny raised a ghost shield for protection, though the impact was still enough to push him back by a few inches. Demitri stopped his attack and glared at Danny.

"I will suck your blood dry, creature!" He exclaimed angrily.

"Can't believe I wish I was around the sparkly vampires right now…" He muttered.

He fired at Demitri who blocked it with his wings. He then charged at Danny, who got ready. When Demitri was closed enough, Danny threw a punch, which the vampire blocked with his arm. Danny threw more punches before throwing a roundhouse kick, hitting him on the head and causing him t

After Demitri caught the fist, he scoffed at Danny before grabbing him by the neck.

"It would seem this world does not provide much of a challenge…" He said. "Oh well… let's see how your blood will taste…"

Demitri then makes a startling transformation.

His clothes disappeared, his skin turned darker, his cape became wings and his hair disappeared and his eyes became longer and pointier, almost like horns. Demitr began opening his mouth even wider, fangs sharpening, becoming more monstrous.

"Whoa!" Danny went at the more gargoyle-like look of Demitri. "Still not letting you have a bite! Buy me dinner first!"

Danny then phased out of Demitri's grasp, much to the vampire's surprise. He couldn't react when Danny punched him on the jaw, sending him flying, causing him to turn back to normal.

"You broke my concentration!" Demitri shouted.

"Phew, that's more like it." Danny said, seeing that his foe wasn't that demonic form anymore.

He decided to take a page from Jon's book and did a spinning jump with his right foot glowing, landing with a stomp, sending a wave of energy towards a surprised Demitri, blasting him off his feet.

Demitri skidded on the floor, snarling before someone kicked him in the back of the head.

"Don't forget me!" Jon shouted.

'The werewolf then tackled Demitri, while Danny only kicked him in the head.

The vampire snarled at this.

"Don't think I don't smell them…" Demitri said.

Danny slightly lowered his arm.

"Who?"

"The ones inside… once I'm finished, I will sample this world's ample supply of blood through them." Demitri warned with a toothy grin.

Inside

"Push! PUSH!" Jazz shouted as she was pushing the password for the Weapons' Vault.

About a few feet away, Sam and Tucker were pushing the large block with Q-Bee inside as close as they can.

"Remind me… why aren't you pushing?!" Sam asked.

"Because I know the vault password and it's also DNA locked." Jazz reminded her.

As Jazz pressed buttons, Q-Bee once again tries to break free.

"I will devour you all!" She shouted.

"Dream on, bug lady!" Sam says.

Finally, Jazz pressed her thumb on the scanner and the vault door opened.

"Finally…" Jazz says.

As the door opened, Sam and Tucker walked in and picked up some blasters.

"After we stuff Lady Bug in here, we should use this to help Danny!" Sam said.

"Aw yeah!" Tucker said as he lifted a rather large blaster, only for it to fall out of his arms. "Whoops!"

The blaster fired.

They all panicked.

"Hit the deck!" Jazz shouted, ducking down to avoid the bouncing beam

They managed to dodge the blast but things got worse.

To their horror, it hit the ice Q-Bee was trapped in, melting it quickly. Just enough for her to break free.

"Haha!" She went as she stood proudly. "Finally!"

The girls then glared at Tucker for his screw up.

"Aw, come on!" He went.

Q-Bee attempted to fly, but found her wings were not flapping correctly.

"No! My wings are too wet!" She complained before looking at the teenager and grinned. "I supposed I could kill time with a snack…"

In response, Sam held up the blaster and aimed.

"Don't make me make an exception about hurting bees!" She warned.

Q-Bee only scoffed.

"This meat is too rough… maybe I leave it to soften up?" She said before shutting the vault door.

"HEY!" The all went.

Q-Bee only laughed before smelling something.

"Ooh! I smell cooked steer meat and potatoes… I guess it's better than starving… they better have ketchup." She said as she walked the source of the smell.

Tucker, hearing that, pounded the door.

"Hey! I was gonna take those home!" He whined.

Sam pulled Tucker back.

"Focus, Tucker. We gotta get out of here and warn Danny and Jon." She reminded him.

"Right… well?" Tucker asks Jazz.

"Well what?" She asks.

"Open the door." Danny's two friends said.

Jazz sighed and pointed at where the handle is supposed to be. Because there was no handle.

"Dad forgot to make Danny install it again… remember?" She groaned.

Back with the fight on the rooftop

"You're not going near them!" Danny shouted as he flew at Demitri.

The vampire was not afraid.

"You are far too emotional. Pfft.. teenagers."

Demitri grabbed Danny by the neck before he could attack him.

With minimal effort, he slammed Danny into the floor, making an impact.

"Get away from him!" Jon shouted as used his Beast Cannon to speed up and attack.

Demitri saw this and turned into a swarm of bats to rise out of the way.

He morphed back to normal form before descending slowly.

"Any more pitiful attempts to-"

He's distracted as Danny grabbed him by the ankle and spun the vampire lord before tossing him upward.

"Here! Let me give you a better view of my world!" Danny shouted before firing a ghost ray with his hands together, firing at near full power.

The impact of the blast launched Demitri further into the sky.

"YOU DARE?!" The vampire yelped at this.

Jon whistled in surprise, impressed by Danny's power.

"I didn't think you had it in you." He said.

"He threatened to hurt my friends and my sister." Danny pointed out.

That was ALWAYS a no-no to him.

Jon chuckled a moment.

I should remember to never be around this kid when there's a blood moon…

A roar from the sky caught their attention as they looked up.

It was coming in fast.

The gargoyle turned back to the Victorian vampire look. Demitri was injured, but not looking remotely winded. Despite the injury he received, he looked impressed.

"So, it seems you have more fight in you than I thought…" He says to Danny.

Danny sent a cautious look to the beast.

"Uh… so, what's with the bat monster thing?" Danny asks.

"That's his true form… the form you're used to by this point is more a disguise." Jon explains.

''I see..." Danny said, keeping his guard up. "Gotta say, that gargoyle look is an improvement."

"I will enjoy killing you." Demitri said.

Demitri charged as Danny and Jon nodded at each other. Danny jumped forward and released a strong flash from his hands, blinding Demitri. Once he got his sight back, Demitri was met with a furious kick from Jon, who followed it with furious slashes from his claws. Demitri growled and pounced at Jon, who crouched down, revealing Danny who was flying towards Demitri with a kick.

Surprised, Demitri got hit on the face, causing him to stumble back. Danny followed it with a roundhouse kick, striking Demitri on the chin. He then saw Jon rushing forward, so he grabbed his arms and threw him towards Demitri, with the vampire getting tackled to the ground by the werewolf.

Demitri managed to kick Jon off him, but as soon as he did, he saw Danny flying towards him, foot raised. He quickly rolled up to his feet, missing the foot that made a crater on the ground, before he retaliated by backhanding Danny, sending him crashing to his house. Before Demitri could attack again, Jon blasted Demitri off his feet with a surprise attack, sending him towards Danny, who delivered a strong uppercut that sent Demitri flying to the sky.

Danny then saw Jon running towards him. With a nod, Danny threw a kick, which Jon used to propel himself towards Demitri before he used his Beast Cannon, sending the two crashing on the rooftop. Danny flew after them and saw Jon pinning Demitri to the ground. He flew towards them to help Jon.

Demitri saw him and quickly tried to gain the upper hand. When Danny was just near them, Demitri kicked Jon on the gut, pushing him off him and causing Danny to slam on to him. Using the distraction, Demitri grabbed the two by their throats and jumped into the air. Once he was high enough, Demitri plunged towards the roof, his intention clear.

Danny saw that Demitri was going to slam them to the roof, so he acted quickly and turned the three of them intangible. Startled that they were going through the house, Demitri lost his momentum as they ended up in the Fentons' Dungeon. When they felt his hold on them slacken, Danny turned Demitri tangible and pulled him and Jon away, surprising him.

The two then punched him on the face at the same time, sending him crashing on a table full of medieval torture tools.

"Why did you allow him to enter your house?" Jon asked as he turned to Danny.

"I figure we could knock him out and put him in-."

He was cut off when Demitri roared, breaking the table and sending the tools flying. He quickly appeared between the two and slapped them both away, surprising them. Danny slammed on the metal wall, a little dazed. When his mind was clear, he couldn't react fast enough when a Fenton Stockade was coming right to him. Demitri used the primitive torture device as a battering ram, ramming Danny to the wall.

"Kid!" Jon exclaimed before he charged at Demitri. He leapt towards the vampire, his claws growing. Suddenly, Demitri used the stockade and swatted Jon away before throwing the stockade at him, knocking him out.

As he reveled in his victory, a flash of light behind him made him jump. He turned, readying himself for another surprise attack, but instead saw something surprising; the ghost that he was fighting was gone, replaced by a human boy. Demitri looked surprised by Danny's unconscious state, seeing he was no longer the being he saw before. He walked towards Danny, and sure enough, he could feel the blood flow through his human veins.

"A human? A human was able to fight me?" He asked. "No…he is not a pure human…"

He stroked his chin and he started thinking. He never heard of a human who can become a ghost. After all, a ghost cannot become human once it becomes a ghost, yet this boy felt like a mix of the two.

I smelled ectoplasm off him. What is he? He was able to fight me this long. Perhaps he has some potential…

He then noticed the stockades, and whose faces were peeking from inside them.

"Raptor? Hood?" Demitri asked when he saw their faces. "I see that buffoon sent others into this world."

"Demitri? Hey, be a pal and let me out!" Raptor exclaimed.

"Is that Phantom? Quick! Let me out while he's unconscious! I can bag him when he's out cold like that!" Hood exclaimed, a crazed look in her eyes, surprising Demitri a little.

That look in her eyes wasn't the same look when she wanted to kill monsters, it looked more like she wanted to torture and kiss him.

"Wait... Whatcha doin' 'ere?!" Raptor asks.

"Don't tell me you wanted Talbain to get rewarded by that fat idiot." BB asked in her growly voice.

"Don't be ridiculous, that fool has nothing I want. I'd have sucked his blood if it didn't smell wrong to me…" Demitri said.

"Then what do you actually want?" Hood asked.

"A new world to make my claim…" Demitri pointed to the unconscious Danny and Jon on the floor. "This boy has potential to be stronger, and I understand there are others like him. Perhaps they will keep me entertained. As for Talbain…"

Demitri walked over to the Stockade with Raptor inside and used his vampire strength to pull it open.

"Uh… I ain't interested in fightin' ya!" Raptor went, trying to inch back despite the stockade's cramped space.

"Just the opposite… take Talbain, claim whatever that fool promised you and lie that the rest of us were defeated." Demitri ordered.

Seeing an opportunity, Raptor grinned.

"You got it!"

"Hey! What about me, dammit?!" Hood shouted.

Demitri glared at her.

"I would drink your blood, but I have a proposition… stay away from me, and you can have your little playmate here… I'm sure you can make him stronger. I believe you two have met?" Demitri motioned to Danny.

Seeing an opportunity to play with her new favorite person, she grinned.

"You got a deal!" She went.

"So… let us out?" Lord Raptor asks.

Demitri nodded as he walked over and used his strength to pull the stockades open.

Lord Raptor was relieved, ready to collect his bounty.

BB Hood, on the other hand, eyed the unconscious Danny.

"So… mind if I have a little… fun with him?" She asked as she grinned..

Demitri wave his hand dismissively.

"I don't micromanage..." He said before heading off with Raptor, not really caring.

On the rooftop, Demitri was seeing Raptor off. The rocker zombie had Jon over his shoulder. Among them is Q-Bee, who devoured the food in the kitchen.

"Yummy… but I'm still hungry…" She says.

"Then go find somewhere else to eat… be glad I am willing to spare you." Demitri says, annoyed.

She nodded as she was flying away.

However, the vampire and zombie did not see someone grab her by the leg and pull her down the side of the building, slamming her on the concrete and knocking her out.

"Then I suppose this is goodbye, Maximoff." Raptor says.

"Then get going…" Demitri demanded.

However, just as Raptor was about to go, a certain someone appeared to the scene. The same someone who knocked Q-Bee out.

"LET HIM GO!" A certain cat girl shouted as she appeared in front of them.

It was Felicia, who upon seeing her friend in Raptors grip, started snarling.

"Felicia?!" Raptor shouted.

"I won't demand it again!" She said as she leaped at him, intent to save Jon.

In the chamber.

"Ugh…" Danny said, opening his eyes as he looked up at the ceiling. "Wait… am I in-" He didn't finish his question as he sat up.

Oh no… He thought.

The stockades were opened.

As he got up and looked around, he heard a snicker.

"I owe that vampire… since now I get to spend more time with you, Cutie…" The voice went.

He flinched, recognizing that voice came from behind.

Morphing, he got up and turned, raising a hand ready to fire at BB Hood.

"Where's Jon?!" He asked.

"I don't have him, Raptor's taking him back to get a reward while Maximoff plans to make his stake on this world, plenty of blood for him. I might drive a stake of my own in his chest one of these days, but for now? I think I found someone more fun to play with… now… GIVE BONNIE A HUG!" She shouted the last part in her growly voice as she took her basket and fired a rocket at it.

Reacting fast, Danny fired a ghost ray to blow it up, causing an explosion to push them both back.

Hitting the wall, Danny pushed himself off and saw BB running towards him through the smoke,

Is this girl even HUMAN?! He thought.

He quickly got up and dodged her by rising into the air, to avoid either her trying to stab him or kiss him again.

Both were not what he wanted to experience.

"Ooh, I love prey who play hard to get..." BB said before spinning the blade in her hands in her fingers.

"I hate to think what you'd do if you hated me…" Danny said.

"Oh, I don't hate you. Here, have some goodies in my basket!" She said as she fired a missile from the side.

Danny managed to block with a shield and hit BB with a blast.

The blast actually sent BB back momentarily while Danny started to rise up off the ground again.

"Now, if you don't mind, I have a friend to rescue…" Danny said as he was about to fly off.

Getting up, Hood pulled a bottle from her basket and grinned.

"Not before a toast!"

She threw the bottle at Danny and, to his surprise, it wasn't a liquid inside, but a gas. Once it hit him, it was released.

One that he coughed from as it made him lose his power of flight as he landed on his feet.

"W-What is this stuff? Why can't I fly?" He asked.

"I knew it! That gas was made with some herbs that I got off the blackmarket, specifically to fight ghosts and other undead by weakening them for a good 3-5 minutes! I was saving it for a Chinese Vampire that Raptor has the hots for, I wasn't sure if it'd work on you, but now I know!" BB said with a grin. "I gotta say…" She walked calmly to Danny, who only had his hands up in defense. "I am liking this world! I think I'll stay. We got a lot to talk about… but first…" She took his arms by the wrists and pulled him close to her. "Let's dance!"

She then performed her Sentimental Typhoon. With inhuman strength, she started to spin Danny in a seemingly innocent manner, with an almost innocent smile. That's when she adopted a more wicked smile before spinning faster and then swung Danny into the wall, making an impact.

"Can't believe I'm saying this… but the obnoxious zombie guy would have been better…" He muttered as he got off the wall and resumed fighting back.
