Chapter 11: Going home
The more heroic Darkstalkers were watching with wide eyes and jaws slacked.
On the ground, Demitri still clutched his stomach. The pain was so much he was barely able to keep up his appearance, his true form slipping through, such as his wings appearing in place of his cape for a second, to his arms turning dark for a fleeting moment.
Somehow, that injury did more damage to him than anything else this night.
"Did… did Danny just… hurt him?" Felicia asked.
"B-But… how could he? Even if Demitri did somehow leave himself wide open, this is still the same vampire he was having trouble with earlier…" Jon said.
The Shao sisters were also staring in disbelief.
"Wow… your kids are gonna be tough…" Mei-Ling joked.
"Yeah…" Hsien-ko responded absentmindedly, before realizing what her sister said and got annoyed. "Wait… what?"
Meanwhile, Morrigan studied the injured vampire.
"To think he was barely a threat to Demi, now he suddenly made sport of him." Morrigan pondered before smiling at Lilith. "Seems I'm gonna be an aunty to some pretty powerful little anklebiters." She mused.
Lilith turned bright red at that and turned her head, too embarrassed to speak.
"I'm in no hurry for that…" She said before noticing what else was going on.
Weakly, Demitri got back up.
"Hey, Bela Lugosi! … at least I assume those movies exist on your Earth… What's the matter? I can't be harder to beat than an S class demon or whatever?" Danny taunted.
Teeth gritting at that crack, the lord of vampires was sorely tempted to make him pay.
Demitri wobbled a moment before, with a deep breath, was able to stand straight. However, after taking his first step, he hissed in pain.
"Even at night, with the wound healed… the pain is still there…" Demitri whispered as his glare intensified. "WHAT DID YOU DO?!"
Danny only blinked before shrugging.
"I wish I knew…" He responded.
"You… won't do that again!" Demitri shouted.
Demitri walked, due to the pain in his abdomen, and reached out with the intent to harm Danny, but someone jumped in at the last second and kicked the vampire back.
Jon landed gracefully as Demitri stepped back and snarled.
"Step aside, Talbain! My quarrel is with this brat!" Demitri shouted.
"Can't let that happen. Kid helped me get back on my feet and kept a few from getting their hands on my hide, I owe him." Jon states.
"Then you will die alongside your new friend!" Demitri shouted.
With that, he raised his hand and readied an attack that Danny has become familiar with.
"Get back!" Jon shouted.
"Chaos Flare!"
Demitri then fired his Chaos Flare, but while Jon was able to get in the way, Danny noticed two who would be in harm's way, so instead he flew to Lilith and Hsien-ko, using a ghost shield to block the attack.
It took the two a good moment to stare at Danny as he lowered the shield once the attack was over.
"You two okay?" He asks before they nod. He smiled in relief. "Cool…"
Both of them turned red, unaware of what to say next.
"Kid! Now's a good time to give a hand!" Jon shouted as he and Felicia tried to grab hold of Demitri by the arms."
"Right!" Danny said before looking at the two. "Be right back."
Neither of them responded, just staring.
As Danny flew off, their older sisters approached them and voice concern.
"Lilith? Are ya alright?!" Morrigan went.
"Hsien-ko?" Mei-Ling asks.
Both noticed their sisters were uncharacteristically silent.
"Sister?" Both went.
It was then they realized the wide smiles on their face, with their eyes practically turned into anime hearts after what just happened.
"That was so cool…" Lilith went.
"So amazing and brave, what he did…" Hsien-ko said.
Both older sisters sighed, though amused with the two girls falling head over heels for Danny.
However, the older sisters' thoughts were interrupted as the sight of Danny fighting alongside Jon and Felicia caught their attention.
The three were strangely in sync, as if they had fought countless times before. They were moving coordinately against the frustrated vampire. Danny smashed his face with a glowing fist, and Demitri tried to retaliate, but was blindsided by a pawful of sand from Felicia, who blew a raspberry at him as he released a pained yelp as he held his eyes. Just as he was about to see, Jon attacked him with his nunchucks, releasing wooden fury on the vampire. Demitri growled and was about to use his claws to slash Jon in half when his claws phased through Jon, who suddenly sank to the floor. Confused, he looked on the ground before Danny and Jon flew from it, nailing him with a double uppercut.
"Not so cocky now, are you?" Danny said with a smirk. "If you wanna stay, I know a place full of weirdos. One of them is a vampire that loves to count."
"Do not mock me, child!" Demitri roared as his body started changing. He became taller and bulkier, his skin becoming gray, his eyes red, his clothes melting into his skin, and giant, demonic wings sprouting from his back.
"Uh oh." Felicia said with a hint of worry. "He's really mad."
"Kid, now would be a good time to do… what you just did." Jon said.
"Can you do it again?" Felicia asks.
Before Danny could answer, a backhand from the vampire lord knocked him into a tree. After impact, Danny pushed himself off.
"Let me get back to you." He said before he charged at the transformed Demitri.
Demitri roared as he threw a punch towards Danny, who tried to block it with a kick. Danny was pushed back by Demitri, who then grabbed him by the torso and slammed him to the ground, making it crack.
"I will drain you dry, half-breed." Demitri growled, opening his mouth, revealing his sharp fangs.
He was about to bite Danny, but was blindsided when Jon and Felicia kicked him at the same time, knocking him off of Danny, but Demitri quickly recovered and slapped the two away. The two were caught by Danny, causing them to fall to the ground. They quickly stood up and glared at Demitri before they attacked.
"Hey!" Mei-Ling says.
"You two can have your daydreams later, knocking out Demi comes first." Morrigan says.
That snapped them out of it.
"R-Right!" Lilith went.
"O-On it!" Hsien-ko says.
The two pairs of sisters rushed towards the trio that were being wiped to the ground by Demitri. He was stepping on Jon while holding Felicia and Danny by the throats.
"Any last words, boy?" Demitri asked Danny, tightening his grip on his neck.
"Your hair... looks... stupid." Danny coughed out.
"Those are your last words?" Demitri taunted. "Your attempts at humor won't hurt me."
"Then allow me." Lilith went, flying past Danny and striking Demitri. "Shining Blade!"
Her attack took Demitri by surprise, making him step off Jon, but not enough to let Danny and Felicia go. He glared at Lilith and was about to attack her when some chains wrapped around his torso and pulled him back. He turned and saw Hsien-Ko holding the chains, with Mei-Ling back as a seal on her head.
"Was this supposed to hold me?" Demitri asked.
"Just long enough to distract you." Hsien-Ko said with a smirk.
Before he could retort, Morrigan appeared and struck the hand holding Felicia, making him drop her. He growled at her, not seeing Danny raising a glowing hand, firing at his head, making him stumble as he dropped Danny, who then released a ball of ectoplasm that exploded on his stomach, sending him flying a few feet away. They all jumped back as they surrounded the vampire, who growled and glared angrily at them.
"Okay, seriously." Danny said as they all tensed. "What's it gonna take to take him down?"
"Just try not to get killed." Jon growled. "If we can make it until sunrise, we can beat him."
"I hope it doesn't take too long." Danny said. "I got curfew."
"Then take him down!" Morrigan exclaimed as she attacked. "Soul Fist!"
By that, they all attacked at once, hoping to overpower the vampire. The Soul Fist was dodge, and Demitri retaliated with a swarm of fire bats that blew her off her feet. Felicia jumped towards Demitri with a kick, but Demitri dodged, grabbed her leg and threw her away, causing Jon to catch her before she hit the ground. He put her down before rushing towards Demitri, making an afterimage. He ran around Demitri, hoping to confuse him. He pounced at Demitri, claws out, but Demitri blocked him and the afterimage and pushed him away. Hsien-Ko slammed her hands to the ground, causing giant blades to go towards Demitri, scratching him a little, but he retaliated with a fireball, which she narrowly dodged. Lilith rushed towards Demitri while his back was turned, her wings turning into spears, making him stumble, but he quickly countered with a backhand. Danny jumped towards him and delivered a glowing ax kick, which Demitri countered with a punch.
"Fools!" Demitri exclaimed as he raised his hands, making a giant fireball. "Together or not, you will not best m-ack!"
Suddenly, the giant ball of fire dispersed as Demitri doubled over, his appearance returning to normal.
"He's finally weakened!" Jon exclaimed. "Quick! Distract him while I do something!"
"I don't think I can keep moving." Lilith said, exhausted.
"Me neither." Hsien-Ko agreed.
"…Whoever manages to hurt Demitri the most can spend an extra day here~." Morrigan said, causing the girls to perk up.
"I'll take him down!" Lilith exclaimed with renewed vigor. "Merry Turn!"
"No! Me!" Hsien-Ko shouted. "Senpuu Buu!"
The two girls attacked the weakened Demitri viciously, surprising the vampire.
"What are they arguing about?" Danny asked.
"…You're so clueless." Felicia said.
"Why do people keep saying that!?" Danny exclaimed.
"Danny! Help me out!" Jon exclaimed, causing Danny to rush towards him as he told him what to do.
Meanwhile, the girls kept attacking Demitri as hard as they can. Felicia did a low kick that hit his gut, Morrigan used her wings to thrust spears on his back, and Lilith used her wings to make a bow, firing Hsien-Ko at Demitri, using her claws to lacerate him. But even when he was weakened, he was still strong enough to stand against all four of them.
"You think you wretches can defeat me?" he exclaimed as he blocked an attack from Felicia and Morrigan. "Even weakened, I can take you all on!"
"As much as I want to prove you wrong, we already bought them time." Morrigan said with a smirk.
"Hit it, boys!" Felicia called as the girls jumped away. Confused, Demitri turned around and his eyes widened as he saw Danny and Jon standing side by side, their hands forming a giant energy of fire and ectoplasm.
"Ready?" Jon asks.
"Ready." Danny responded.
"Dragon Cannon!" Jon exclaimed.
"I don't have a clever name for this!" Danny exclaimed as he fired a ghost ray.
Danny's ectoplasm merging with Jon's dragon-shaped fire attack. Demitri tried to block the attack, screaming as he felt it burn him. When the attack was done, Demitri was left with burn marks all over his body, his clothes torn and burn.
"You little brat!" Demitri exclaimed angrily as an aura flared around him intensely. "I am Demitri Maximoff, the strongest Darkstalker who will rule both Makai and this world! I won't be defeated by some lowly, half-breed who is too blind to…to see…"
Suddenly, Demitri started wobbling, making the others look confused. Suddenly, he started bleeding from the ears, and he fell to the ground face first. Danny blinked as he cautiously walked towards Demitri, poking him with his foot.
After nudging him a few times, Demitri was still unconscious.
"Okay…does this happen often?" Danny asked the other Darkstalkers, who were walking forward.
"Not like that." Morrigan said before she noticed his ears. "Huh…I think your Ghostly Wail actually did the deed. It looks like the longer he fought, the weaker he was getting until it finally affected him"
"Huh… cool." The ghost boy said.
Danny then felt a part of arms wrap around him from behind.
It was Lilith, who looked relieved.
"That was amazing Danny!" She went.
"Thanks Lilith." Danny went.
Lilith let him go so that he can turn around to face her.
"No, thank you. For saving me." She went.
That's when Hsien-Ko walked up to him from behind his back.
"I should thank you for saving me…" Once Danny turned around, she blushed a bit. "And my sister."
Danny turned around and nodded.
"Not a problem, Hsien-Ko." He responded with a smile.
Seeing that gave Hsien-Ko the reason she needed.
She reached out with her hands, grabbing Danny by the face and pulling him up thanks to his ghost powers.
Once she had him close enough, Danny blushing being so close to her face, Hsien-Ko smiled warmly.
"You fought well. On behalf of my sister and the Shao family, please accept this reward."
She immediately kisses him on the lips, much to his shock.
Everyone stared at this.
Mei-Ling grinned at her sister taking the initiative.
Lilith pouted and turned red with anger. Morrigan saw this and smirked.
"Ooh… someone has competition." She says.
Meanwhile, Danny's mind went blank as the 16-year old in the taller, more developed body of the undead kissed him.
After a pop and their mouths separated, he stared at the smiling Jiang Shi in the face as his own face turned red.
"I-uh… I accept… your thanks?" He went, unsure how to properly respond.
As Hsien-Ko nodded, Lilith stepped between them, getting territorial.
"Back off! He's mine!" She went.
"Oh? Looking for a soul to snack on once in a while or are his dreams that tasty?" Hsien-Ko asked in a mocking tone with her arms crossed.
"That's not true! I think he's cute and cool!" Lilith went.
"Yeah, well, technically, I saw him first." Hsien-Ko stated.
"Yeah?! Well I KISSED him first!"
"To drain enough energy to tire him out…" She pointed out.
"Be that as it may… he's mine!"
"Maybe I want him?" Hsien-Ko asked.
As the girls began fighting, with Lilith being childish while Hsien-Ko being snarky, their sisters whispered between themselves.
"I bet Danny will want a girl who is mature and capable in combat." Mei-Ling said.
"Ha! Lilith is far livelier, and she'll keep her good looks well after his dark hair turns grey." Morrigan said.
"Perhaps, but Hsien-Ko is plenty lively and more developed in both forms."
"My sister would be someone he'll have more fun with… 10 bucks says I'm right and he ends up marrying her in the end." Morrigan challenged.
"You're on!" Mei-Ling went.
Danny just stared at these two, as well as the younger Darkstalkers fighting over him.
"When did I get so popular with girls?" He asks.
"Didn't you say you've gone out with girls from other worlds?" Jon asked.
"Yeah… but I'm not looking for a harem or anything. I'm just trying to be a good guy." He explained.
With that, Lilith and Hsien-Ko immediately appeared in front of him, looking eager to ask him something.
"You've kissed other girls?! Which of us was better?!" Lilith asked.
"Not the one draining a part of your soul, right?" Hsien-Ko asked while throwing shade at her new rival.
"He should be all better by now, you saw what he did…" Lilith said, rolling her eyes at Hsien-Ko.
"Regardless, which girl from our world was the worst kiss? Huh?!" She asked, looking eager for him to answer Lilith was the worst.
"Yeah, which?!" Lilith went.
Danny had only one answer to that.
"BB Hood." He responded.
Both girls paused before pulling back, surprisingly, looking pleased with that answer.
"Okay… that makes sense." Lilith said.
"Fair point…" Hsien-Ko went with a nod.
As Danny only blinked at this, Jon cleared his throat to get everyone's attention.
"Before you two start thinking baby names… Danny? What was that? How did you perform Mushin no Shin?"
"Moo- what?" Danny asks.
"What you just did. You somehow were able to overpower Demitri of all people and it was as if you didn't even need to think, like your body acted on its own." Jon explained.
Danny pondered, his hand at his chin as he looked up.
"I don't really know… this kind of happened before, when another group from another universe visited mine. They said- what'd they call it? Super? No… Mega Power… Uh-uh. Killer Instinct? No… Ultima-no, Ultra Instinct. Yeah, that's what they called it, Ultra Instinct." Danny said.
Interesting… Jon thought a moment.
"Who did you learn that from?" Jon asks.
"A… cat god." Danny explained, unsure how to explain it.
Nobody had a proper response to that at first.
"Interesting…" Morrigan went.
Danny only shrugged before his attention was back to the unconscious vampire.
"We should probably deal with Demitri and my house guests soon… So, if you can show me your portal device, I'll be happy to get rid of them… especially BB Hood…" Danny said, flinching at mentioning his least favorite admirer from Jon's world.
The rest looked lost at that question.
"Portal… device?" Morrigan asks.
"Yeah, what you used to get here." Danny explained.
The female Darkstalkers only remained silent for about a moment before one answered.
"Umm… I don't have anything like that. I clearly have no pockets." Felicia went as she pointed at her figure. "See?"
Danny blushed at being reminded of her lack of clothes.
"I can see." He said.
"I got no pockets either…" Morrigan said, pointing to her figure.
Danny turned red and turned his head away.
Are all females from that world this attractive and have shapely figures? He thought.
He then looked to the rest.
"What about you?"
"I don't carry any technology, only weapons like bombs and blades." Hsien-ko answered.
Danny and Jon only shared thoughtless looks as the ghost boy spoke up.
"Wait… I don't get it. If you didn't use portal tech, how did you get here?" He asks.
"We got a ride…" Morrigan said before the sound of a sonic boom was heard.
"Huh?" Danny went as they saw something was coming towards them, kicking up a lot of dirt.
"And here he is…" Morrigan says.
This thing was coming in fast.
The person they spoke of braked hard as they skidded before appearing before them.
After the dirt reached them, it blinded them and made them cough for about two seconds before this person's identity was revealed.
This was someone Danny recognized in passing. Someone in a full body red suit with lightning bolts. He never got to meet this person, but he's heard the name.
"The Flash?" Danny asks enthusiastically.
The Flash dusted himself off and smiled with a thumb's up.
"The one and on- uh… never mind." He said.
"Wait… are you the one who took on Quicksilver or the one who fought Sonic?" Danny asks.
"The second one, and it was a Sonic from a different world." Flash responded.
As Danny looked eager to meet a DC hero, the head of the Aensland clan was more irritated than anything.
"About time you arrived…" Morrigan said with fists at her hips.
"Sorry… got hungry and stopped to grab a bite or two…" Flash said.
"Y'know, we could have used your help for like a ton of things." Felicia said.
"Like with Demitri…" Hsien-Ko stated.
Flash only shrugged at that.
"Wait… I don't get it, how did you even know Jon was here?" Danny asks.
"I didn't… a certain guy with glasses and a cyborg arm asks me to do this while his drunk friend is getting scolded." Flash responded.
In a certain office
"As of now, you've lost beer privileges until the season finale." Wiz scolded.
Jaw dropped and looking ready to break into tears, Boomstick dropped to his knees.
"NNOOOOO!" He went.
Wiz groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose.
"I'd get upset at learning those cartoon teens were messing around, especially since I suspect Deadpool has a hand in this, but because of you, I'm willing to let it slide… this time."
Back with Danny's world
They all looked at Demitri, who was frozen solid thanks to Danny. This way, he wouldn't cause a ruckus until they got back to their world.
"That should do it." Danny said, patting his hands. "This ice should melt in about…six hours, so just leave him somewhere until it melts."
"Well… now that that's all said and done…" Felicia then wrapped her arms around Jon's neck, hugging him tightly. "You won! You won one of those crazy battles those two morons keep putting people on against their will!"
Jon blushed a little at Felicia hugging him.
"Heh… no big deal." He went.
"I knew you could do it, Jon! I'm so proud!" She said.
As she hugged her close friend happily and tightly, Danny hovered over to the Flash and gestured to them.
"So… are we gonna ignore that she's naked and pressing against his bare chest?" He asks.
Flash only shrugged.
"Probably for the best." He responded.
"Let's just hope they get a room before anything else happens." Danny whispered.
As that went on, Danny felt a pair of arms wrap around his left arm. It was Lilith, who tugged him.
"So… now that that's all taken care of… maybe we can go out on a flight together?" She said with a wink.
"W-wha-?"
That's when another pair of arms wrapped around his other one. It was Hsien-ko, who tugged him away from Lilith.
"Flying isn't bad… but maybe we can spar for a little? Loser buys dinner… for two?" She asks with a wink.
"A peaceful flight sounds better after a hard battle." Lilith said as she pressed his arm between her chest.
"You must still have some pent-up energy after all that fighting, it would be good to have a little spar to relieve all that energy." Hsien-Ko said, pressing his arm on her chest.
Danny blushed brightly as he was trapped by two beautiful monster girls, who he now realized was flirting with him. Since they weren't a sociopath like B.B. Hood, he wasn't repulsed by these girls, who he admitted were cute in their own way.
"Aw, my little sister being so forward." Morrigan said with a giggle.
"It's good that my sister is being brave for once." Mei-Ling said with a nod.
"Ahem…" Flash went, getting everyone's attention. "As fun as it is watching all this… it's about time I got all Darkstalkers here home."
"Aw~." Lilith said with a pout. "Can't we stay for a little while longer?"
"Sorry, but you guys really need to come back to your world." Flash said. "Since most of the big shots are here, a lot of the other Darkstalkers started claiming territories and such. You need to fix that before it becomes a problem."
"Hmm, I didn't realize our absence would cause such a problem." Morrigan said in a serious tone.
"What about the ones in my weapon's vault?" Danny asks.
"Already taken care of. While your folks were off to use the bathrooms, I swooped in and took them home." Flash said with a thumb's up.
Danny sighed happily.
"That's a relief… don't want to explain why a psychopath in red, a bug lady and an undead rocker are there. Though they might have taken the rocker and dissect him…" Danny said.
"But what about our flight/spar?" The two girls asked in unison before they flared at each other.
"Sorry girls, you'll have to fight over him another time." Jon says.
Both Lilith and Hsien-ko pouted as they let Danny go.
"I guess we'll just have to raincheck on our date." Lilith said with a sigh.
"Just make sure you're free once everything is settled." Hsien-Ko said.
"Hang on… let me see if I can get this right…" Flash went.
Danny watched as Flash pressed the logo on his chest. He noticed that his boots became different, with bits of metal appearing. He suddenly started running in place, like he was on an invisible treadmill.
"What was that?" Danny asked.
"It's how he opened the portal to this dimension." Felicia explained. "He had an invention back home that lets him travel to other worlds, and he made a portable version of it."
"Cool." Danny said in an impressive tone.
Suddenly, a portal appeared in front of Flash and he started waving his hand over it, looking like a red blur as the view from the portal kept changing, like he was flipping channels through the TV.
"What's he doing now?" Danny asks.
"Opening the way home…" Morrigan went.
Danny watched in fascination as he saw the different worlds from the portal. He saw a castle with a lot of mushroom-headed people inside with a cute girl wearing a pink dress sitting on a throne, a world with strange creatures being ordered by children to fight, a humanoid fox piloting a spaceship that was fighting some giant monkey head with floating arms, a pink ball-like creature devouring legions of cute-looking creatures. He even recognized some worlds, like Ben's, Jake's, the Sailor's, the superhero school, and the world of Benders.
"There we go!" Flash went.
The portal showed a cavern-like location that was dark with fire flickering in some places.
"You guys live there?" Danny asked, since the place looked dangerous compared to the Ghost Zone.
"Demitri, Lilith and I live there." Morrigan said with a smile. "Don't worry, we have portals that connect to the Human World. We can send the others back home."
"Let's get going…" Flash said as he touched the portal, using his vibration to open the portal.
"So, you're all heading home?" Danny asks, sounding a bit down.
"Looks like it. Thanks again." Jon said.
"Hey, I'm just glad that I can help," Danny said with a grin. "To be honest, you're friendlier than the cat that came crashing in here. Cheaper too. That guy almost ate me out of a house, if it wasn't for a certain Fruitloop."
"It's a good thing Wiz gave me the coordinates so that I can vibrate at the right frequency…" He said, holding up the paper with the coordinates. Then, to Danny's surprise, he handed that paper to him. "Do me a solid… get rid of it… They don't like it when you guys all mingle and stuff unless to see who kills who in a fight… But I'm sure… you won't be letting anyone else see it…" He said with a wink.
Danny realizes what he means and smiles.
"You got it." He said while putting the paper away.
"Quick, here's your chance." Morrigan whispered to her sister, pushing her towards Danny. Lilith gave her sister a look before taking a deep breath.
That's when Lilith approached him, with her face turned red and her hands clasped together.
"So…" She went.
"So?" Danny asks.
That's when, to his surprise, she got in close and kissed him quickly on the lips.
"Woah." Felicia said as they watched Lilith kiss the shocked Ghost Boy, while Hsien-Ko glared at her.
"Thanks for… the save back there." She said after that kiss was done.
"N-No problem…" Danny stammered, still feeling the warmth from her lips.
"You're not gonna let her steal the march like that, right?" Mei-Ling said to her sister, who was radiating an aura of irritation.
With a breath, Hsien-ko turned into her human form and approached.
"Say, remember this look?" She went.
Danny only blinked.
"Uh… y-yes." Danny said, still dazed by a kiss from Lilith that didn't involve draining his life energy to knock him out.
"It's just… I wanna say…" She said shyly, bringing her fingers together, before she then kissed Danny on the lips fast, much to his surprise. "Drop by our world anytime…"
As Danny blinked in surprise, Lilith was glaring with a fist raised, looking like she's ready to start a fight while Hsien-ko blew raspberries at her.
"Okay, let's go before someone else decides to lock lips." Flash said, both in bemusement and impatience.
Both girls vying for Danny turned their heads away and walked to the portal and entered while their sisters, snickering at their new rivalry, followed as Morrigan handled the frozen Demitri by dragging him. That leaves the cat girl and the werewolf.
"Time to go, Jon." Felicia says.
"Coming." He tells her before fist bumping Danny. "See ya, Kid. If you're ever in my universe, come and find me. Maybe we'll draw out… whatever that was."
"It's a deal." Danny said. "If another psychopath appears, I'm gonna need all the help I can get."
With a fanged grin, Jon entered the portal. Flash gave Danny a two-fingered salute before he ran into the portal, which disappeared with a flash, leaving Danny alone in the woods.
After a moment, he took a deep breath.
"They were a crazy bunch, but good crazy," Danny said to himself. "Well, time to head home." Nodding in relief, he flew into the skies and headed home, glad that the fight was finally over. "Man, if another person shows up, I hope it's a cute girl that doesn't want to fight me." He muttered to himself.
