"You should at least attempt to become her friend, you know," Bonnie comments as we walk down the hallway. "You've been saying that for the past six years, Bon. Do you see us as friends? Me and Doppelganger? We have nothing in common, and I find her annoying as hell."
Caroline laughs before covering her mouth when Bonnie shot her a glare. "Elena's your friend too, Care. But, lately, you've been avoiding her like the plague. Do you two get into another fight?" Bonnie questions. I tune their conversation out as I felt a chill run down my spine. Someone was watching me. My eyes scan the hallway before falling upon the apparition of Qetsiyah. "What the fuck?" She waves, sending me a wink. I grab Bonnies' shoulder. "Bon, tell me you see her!"
Bonnie gives me a look of bewilderment before following my gaze. "There's nothing there, Ororo. Are you and Aunt Annie drinking that weird potion again? The one that had you guys hallucinating?" I look back at Bonnie, surprised.
"You don't see her? She's standing right there?" I pointed at Qetsiyah, who's smirking. "No one is there, Ororo. Care, please keep her away from any potions for a while."
Bonnie shakes her head before walking over to Elena, who was at her locker. I glare at Qetsiyah, "Uhm, is it a ghost?" Caroline questions as she pulls me over to her locker. "It's my ancestor, Qetsiyah. I have no clue what she's doing here; she's supposed to be on the other side."
I was going straight to the old witch cottage after school. "Next thing you know, I'll have an original popping up and following me like a lost puppy," I grumbled as Caroline handed me my textbooks. We followed behind Bonnie and Elena. I know they were having the canon conversation about Matt and Elenas' relationship.
"Oh, wow, who's that?" Caroline questioned, and I follow her gaze to see her eying Stefan. Oh god, I don't want to deal with Caroline chasing after him. "He's hot."
Admittedly, Stefan wasn't hard on the eyes, but his whole brooding thing was a turn-off. "He's alright, but the brooding, soulful eyes thing isn't my vibe." I shrug.
"By the way, he's staring at Elena; I'll never have a chance." Caroline shrugs, "Oh well. He's hot, but I have what I want."
"Oh, and what's that?"
Caroline rolls her eyes, "don't act stupid, Ororo."
I knew she was talking about her crush on me, which I avoided touching with a ten-foot pole. I thought she would've gotten over it by now; it appears not. Another thing I've changed about canon. It seems like Caroline isn't interested in anyone but me.
The school day goes by naturally. I take Caroline and Bonnie to the Grill. I know Elena was off to visit her parents' graves while being stalked by Damon through one of his crows. As much as I disliked him, that was a pretty cool power. I wonder if he could shape-shift into one?
I slapped Caroline's hand away as she reached for my fries. She pouted, rolling her eyes.
"Alright, Care, give us the scoop on the new kid," Bonnie comments as she takes a bite out of her burger.
"His name is Stefan Salvatore. He lives with his uncle up at the old Salvatore boarding house. He hasn't lived here since he was a kid. Military family, so they moved around a lot. He's Gemini, and his favorite color is blue." Caroline says before she snatches a handful of fries off my plate. I couldn't do anything because I had my burger clutched in my hands.
"HA!" She laughs, placing the fries on her plate, shoving some in her mouth.
"Damnnit, Caroline!"
Bonnie laughs at us as she slips her milkshake. "So is she right? About Stefan?"
I glare at Caroline, answering, "yes, he does live with Zach Salvatore, but that isn't his uncle. It's the opposite. He hasn't been around in a while, but he's a vampire remember, and I'm pretty sure he was turned at seventeen. His birthday is November 1st, so there's no way he's a Gemini. He's a Scorpio."
"And let me guess he's going to be after Elenas' golden coochie?" I snort at Carolines' question. I hated that Caroline still felt second best to Elena. No matter how much I told her otherwise, she refused to believe it. I couldn't wait for her to be turned.
"Not that I care, as long as you don't go chasing after her."
Elena could be the last person on Earth, and I wouldn't touch her with a ten-foot pole.
"Stefan and Elena are happening. But, more trouble is bound to happen. His older brother, Damon, is in town. He's got this whole tall, dark, and dangerous guy arura going on. You might go after him, Care, and I want you to wear your necklace and continue drinking your tea. At least two or three cups every day. Let him know you've got two Bennett witches protecting you as well."
"I'm going to ignore the fact that you think I'm going to fuck a psychotic vampire despite your constant warnings, and you keep avoiding that I have a crush on you. The thought of sleeping with someone else isn't appealing."
Bonnie chokes on her milkshake, eyes wide as she stared at Caroline in shock.
Oh, fuck my life.
"I'm not avoiding…" Caroline gives me a deadpan stare. "Okay, so maybe I am, but I want you to explore and have fun, you know? Do you really want to get into a relationship with me? I'm not a good person to be with. I-"
"But that's not for you to decide, Ororo. I've liked you for years, and you're really freaking obvious."
"Oh my god, is this a love confession?" Bonnie questions.
"No, this is me telling Ororo to get her head out of her ass and ask me out on a freaking date."
I stared at Caroline, mouth agape. Holy shit. I could feel myself panicking. Did I want to Caroline? The thought never crossed my mind. I knew she liked me but didn't expect her to be this bold and blunt. Should I date her? I mean, technically, I'm a forty-seven-year-old woman, and that's sick. Caroline is only seventeen; she needs to explore herself and sexuality.
"I'm going to give you time to think about it. For now, I'm going home." She reaches over, placing a kiss on my cheek. She drops a few dollars on the table. "See you later."
I stare at her empty spot for a few minutes before turning to Bonnie. "Did that just happen?"
"Caroline, basically telling you to get your head out of your ass? Yeah."
I sit back in my seat, mind blank.
I left Bonnie at the Grill, running home, grabbing somethings to summon Qetisyah, and headed to the old witches cottage. The moment I stepped inside, their voices nearly overwhelmed me. "Christ, calm down, guys." Qetisyahs' was the loudest. I quickly set up everything. She was impatient as hell. I sat down, taking a deep breath.
"You've got this, O." I let my magic flow as I began to chant.
"It took you long enough, child." I opened my eyes to see Qetisyah sitting in front of me, grinning. She was no longer transparent but looked alive. "But, I suppose you're too distracted by Miss. Forbes. Telling her the truth was a good decision; you can thank your mother and me for that."
My eyes widened, "that was you?! I knew I had spelled my journal closed!"
Qetisyah shrugged, "you would've told her. Eventually, I just speeded up the process with some help from Annie. Now, watching you is even more entertaining, especially after that show at the Grill."
I shoot her a glare, "I summoned you for this? For you to roast me?"
Qetisyah laughs, "No, I wanted to meet you in person. My little descendent, the soul I picked to become reincarnated. You're exactly what this timeline needs. So far, you've done well. You've granted little Bonnie the family she needs, kept my ancestors alive, taken care of Mikael, and I believe you're going to take care of the tomb vampires?" I nod. "Well, you're doing extremely well, and I am proud."
I felt my face heat up, being praised by Qetisyah. It's an honor.
"Thank you."
"But you and little Bonnie missed one thing."
I raised an eyebrow, confused. "What?"
"The spirits I've assigned to watch over you. You've noticed it here and there, but you brushed it off." Qetisyah waves a hand. Spirits? Who could she possibly have watching us?
I let out a gasp as Finn, and Kol Mikaelson appeared in front of me. "THEM?!" I look at Qetisyah in disbelief. She shrugs, "I read that you wanted to prevent their future deaths, and I assigned them to you and Bonnie to keep them closer. And Kol has aggravated me long enough. Let him be your problem now."
"How long have they been...stalking us?"
"For Kol, since the beginning of the year. Finn has always been watching over Bonnie."
"I must save little Bonnie had a lot of death experiences as a child," Finn speaks.
"Hello, little witch. You and I are going to have such awful fun," Kol gives me a mischievous smile.
Just what I needed, a pain in the ass ghost Original following me around.
Note: thank you guys for the favorites, follows and reviews! fallen-dreamerx0x i'm glad you're enjoying the story along with Ororo and Caroline friendship. Sciave thank you for your long review! Bonnie knows she's a witch! Grams and Abby have helped train her over the years. Sorry if I didn't make it clear enough. Ororo doesn't care for the Salvatore brothers' at the moment but who knows as the story progresses. When I first watched TVD I didn't like S1 Caroline either but then again I'm a Bonnie fan so I was bias. I didn't forget Enzo, he's coming in soon!
