This short story takes place at the beginning of season 4, after Anna is raped, but before Bates finds out the truth. She is avoiding her husband; but Bates is not the only one to be puzzled by her behavior. Our favorite under butler has a theory, and wants Bates to know it.

Summary: Season 5 missing scene. Once John reveals the truth about the train ticket to Anna, he thinks everything is over. But it's not. Anna confesses something she's been hiding for way too long. Will John be able to ease her burdens? One shot

Anna had been dreaming of somewhere hot. What was absolutely clear was that neither of them had been expecting to stay in the UK, and certainly not with the entire Crawley clan tagging along.
