This story started out as an exploration of the maternal and sometimes not so maternal relationship between Violet Crawley and her son. It then wandered into many unexpected places and times. It is a bit of an epic. Several longish chapters to follow. I do not own Downton Abbey or these characters but I certainly admire Julian Fellowes who does and did.

This concluding chapter takes us back to what triggered this whole ride in the first place; Robert's relationship with is very formidable mother. I want to thank everyone for their kind reviews and I HOPE this turns up as a chapter not as a separate story, but I have my doubts.
