And while there's lots of happy scenes, there's some angst. Expect lots of Richobel and LOTS of Thomas/OC, with lots of other downstairs folks mixed in and a happy ending for everyone!

Modern AU: EM Hughes is a novelist who writes historical fiction and Charles Carson is a retired cricketer who is now a sports presenter, a color commentary man (whose on air partner is one Charlie Grigg). You will see the familiar characters albeit in different roles. This is the story of how they met and the long road that is their relationship.

Alternate Universe - what if Matthew had been captured by the Germans in the war and a near identical spy assumed his life while he was shipped off to a German POW camp in one of Germany's African colonies? What if he escaped and slowly made his way to a British colony in 1922? Wouldn't that make a delightful mess of things? :D
