"Run. Now." Ryan quietly and calmly whispered.
Everyone scattered right as Toro lunged.
As everyone was dodging and running from the carnotaurus' jaws, Ryan and Chris ran for the back door.
"Wait! Where are y'all going?!" Sammy yelled.
Yasmina's ankle was still hurt and slowing her down, making her a tempting target for Toro. Darius and Kenji did their best to try and distract him. They clanged against the wall, yelled, threw objects, anything.
Meanwhile, Brooklynn helped in getting Yaz threw the back door, followed by Ben, Sammy and Bumpy. Kenji and Darius were the last and placed a piece of wood through the door handles.
"That won't him back for long, we need to do something!" Kenji said frantically. Toro persistently rammed the doors, shaking the building with his attempts.
"What now? Which way do we run?" Ben asked.
"We don't run," Ryan said from behind. Everyone turned around to see the duo equipped with rifles and shotguns, adorned in armor plating, helmets and ammunition.
The two went for the armory and now were loaded for bear.
"This time, we fight." Chris said with a cocky grin.
As the two walked towards the door with bravado, everyone stood back.
"Here's the plan," Ryan said, shouting over the loud thud of the doors banging. "When we open this door, you close it behind us."
"Are you crazy?" Yasmina asked, leaning on Brooklynn.
Chris turned back towards the scared teen. "Maybe a teeny bit," he responded with a wink, hoping to calm her down. She blushed and turned away, embarrassed.
Brooklynn placed on her hands on the plank. Ryan nodded.
She nodded as well, and yanked the wood from the handles. Ryan kicked the door and the two yelled, firing their 12-amp taser rifles.
She then closed the door. Everyone gathered around a security camera computer screen to see what was going on.
Ryan and Chris ran from cover to cover, firing the whole time.
"Aim for his face!" Ryan ordered.
"I'm trying, but he keeps moving around!" Chris said.
Instead of going down, Toro became more agitated. Ryan and Chris grunted as they dodged lunges, stomps and tail swings.
"I got an idea, but it's insane!" Ryan said. "Keep peppering his head, but check your aim."
"Why?" Chris asked, recharging his taser rifle.
By the time he turned around, Ryan was holding onto Toro's tail. The angry dinosaur swung it around, slamming it against the floor and walls. But Ryan refused to let go.
Eventually, Ryan positioned himself to where he climbed up from the tail to the back.
You're such an idiot, but still, this better work, Chris thought. He continued to fire at Toro who was flailing desperately. Ryan held on for dear life.
"Ha! I bet no cowboy ever rode a bull this intense before!" Ryan exclaimed.
As Ryan got close to Toro's head, he grabbed onto his left horn and straddled on his neck. He was careful to avoid placing his feet near the teeth.
"Time to put you down, boy."
Unholstering his taser rifle, Ryan fired a direct hit on the top of Toro's skull. The shock was enough to send the predator collapsing to the ground and Ryan falling. As Ryan got back up, Toro was able to get back up, dazed, and stumbled for a moment.
Acknowledging his defeat, he roared back before retreating through the front doors.
A commotion came from the back doors. The campers were cheering and pumped their fists into the air.
"I don't think I've ever seen something so stupid but brilliant. Well done, buddy," Chris smiled, taking his helmet off.
"Thanks, man. Couldn't have done it without you," Ryan said, out of breath. The two then raised their hands and met in a high-five.
"We saw the whole thing on the security cameras. That was amazing," Darius said in wonder.
"No joke. You guys are awesome," Ben added with Bumpy at his side.
"Pfft, I would've done that," Kenji lied. Everyone shot him an "Oh, really?" look.
"Anyway, there's one room in the back that I didn't check," Ryan said, changing the subject. "Wanted to wait until we were all together."
"Why?" Yasmina asked.
"It's the lab. You guys wanted the 'Jurassic World experience,' right?"
Everyone looked at one another and nodded. They followed Ryan to the lab, which was secure with a door that required a key card ID for entry.
Luckily, Ryan found one earlier, and swiped it. The light above the door went from red to green before buzzing and unlocking.
As everyone entered, almost the entire room was empty. The eggs. Most of the equipment. All that remained were some computers and animals in terrariums.
"Damn InGen. They must've stripped the place during the evac," Chris said, surveying the room.
"Watch where you step over here," Ryan told the group. He stood on the opposite side of where they were. When they walked over, they knew why.
A mangled body of a middle-aged man laid in a pool of blood. Organs and limbs were tossed everywhere. The head was barely identifiable.
The campers exclaimed in disgust. Ben ran to a sink and vomited.
"Let's see…" Ryan seemed unbothered with the corpse and ripped the ID off.
"Vic Hoskins. Head of the park's private security force and security contractor from InGen. This made him our boss," Ryan explained.
"You don't seem sad about his death," Sammy noticed.
"That's because he was a douchebag. He wanted to militarize the velociraptors and believed that 'extinct animals have no rights.'"
Ryan threw the tag away and spit on Hoskin's remains.
"Guys, check this out!" Chris said while looking at a computer screen.
"Look familiar?" he asked.
Everyone checked the screen out, showing the anatomy of the indominus rex.
"What about it? That dude's lunch," Kenji said.
"Watch." Chris then clicked on another file and it showed a different dinosaur. Like the indominus, it didn't look like any dinosaur before.
"According to this, it says that this is another hybrid Doctor Wu was working on. It is mainly part raptor and i-rex, but there seem to be genetic material from other species. They call it the indoraptor."
"Another Frankenstein attraction?" Brooklynn wondered.
"No," Chris answered. "This animal is meant to be used… as a weapon of war."
"We need to get this back intel to the mainland. Nobody can possess this dangerous animal," Ryan said sternly.
"Here, you can use this." Ben opened his fanny pack and took out a USB drive.
Without hesitation, Ryan took the drive and downloaded all the files from the computer. He then placed the drive in his backpack.
"Alright, we're good to go, right? Where is the nearest hotel?"
"Not too far from here," Brooklynn said. She pointed to a map of the island on the wall.
"No time to waste. Let's get going," Darius said.
