Chapter 6: Teamwork makes the dream work

Tsuki:

Tsuki woke up pissed, she went to class pissed, and sat through class pissed. She had every right to be, she was stuck rooming between quite possibly the two loudest girls in the class. Saori Kaminari and Takara Togata. Both of them were overly talkative and way too friendly for their own good. Unfortunately that carried over to Tsuki, the two girls stayed up the whole night talking, which normally wouldn't have been a problem for Tsuki, as long as they didn't bother her, she didn't care, but they decided that hanging out right in front of her door was the best idea.

The only relief she had was finding out that her desk was at the back of the room, it meant that she could keep to herself and not have to worry about the headache that would come from talking to other people. That relief didn't last long before class started and she sat through several periods of class with her classmates, finally ending the regular school day with an English lesson taught by Chargebolt, Saori's dad.

Then what she was waiting for all day finally happened, Red Riot came into the room with a characteristic toothy grin. He had grown quite a bit since his time as a student at UA, becoming a mountain of muscle rivaling that of Golden Age All-Might. He made his way up to the desk at the front of the classroom.

"Good Morning Class 1A," He started cheerfully enough, though Tsuki was still a bit irked by his positivity, " I've got a special treat for you guys, something you'll remember for the rest of your life. Your first battle trials!"

That piqued Tsuki's attention, she knew all about Battle Trials, they were a fundamental part of the hero course, every class of every year had them almost bi-weekly, that was something Tsuki was interested in. It was a chance for her to see her classmates in action, and for her to show them what she was made of.

"Of course it would be unmanly for you to have to do them in your school uniform, so we've got these for you!" He pressed a button on the desk, a hissing sound came from the wall as it extended open revealing twenty four brief cases each marked with their corresponding number, "Grab the case assigned to you and meet me at Ground Alpha!" Red Riot left the room, leaving a mob of excited students in his wake.

Tsuki pushed her way through the crowd, and she may or may not have shoved Saori and Takara to the back. She grabbed her case and found her way to the locker-room, being changed and out before the rest of the girls even got there. Her costume was fairly simple in a way that most hero costumes weren't. Instead of trying to look like a pre-quirk era superhero, or even a reference to pre-quirk era professions like her father, Snipe, Tsuki took a different route. It consisted of a leather bikers jacket with a fur lined collar, a Kevlar vest with a plain black shirt underneath, her jeans being held up by a ultility belt and black leather boots.

"Wow Mishima-san," Red Riot commented taking notice of the costume, "That's real manly."

"What's it to ya?" Tsuki shot back, taking the comment personally, she didn't care if people thought she was a tomboy, but she didn't let slights like that go off unchecked.

"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean nothing by that, really." Red Riot backed up, he was getting vibes that reminded him of a former classmate, "I just meant it looked cool."

"Tch," Tsuki looked away from him as the rest of the class made their way out of the locker-rooms, they all had interesting looking costumes, some were particularly blinding, but at least they all looked practical, well most of them at least.

"Wow guys, you all look real manly in those costumes," Red Riot complimented, his bubbly personality calming their nerves, "In case you hadn't noticed you guys have quite a large class this year, because of that your teams in this trial will be larger, it'll be a better test of your teamwork after all!" He produced a box, "Inside this box are your names, I'll pull them out to assign you guys to teams and let you know who you'll be facing." He reached in and produced the names of the students and who their teams will be.

Tsuki was already fed up. She had been focusing on what her group's battle plan would be in the battle trial when it fully got under way. A 15 minute match in which her team's opponents would win by either capturing them or saving the civilians that were being held hostage. All they had to do was either capture or incapacitate the hero team or let the time run out.

She wasn't too sure what to think of either Toshi or Pestu. The latter irritated her immensely. Pestu was currently sitting down, his back to both her and Toshi and was playing what she assumed to be a videogame. He had been unresponsive and hadn't really given any input as of yet. Then again neither had Toshi. The blue-haired Midoriya seemed to be deep in thought, as if he was analysing something.

"What's with you?" Tsuki asked so that her curiosity could be satisfied. Toshi snapped out of his daze and looked to her with a small smile.

"Oh sorry, I was just thinking about the quirks of our opponents. Kaminari-chan is the daughter of Chargebolt, she has to have an electricity quirk so I can think of several ways to counter that. Metal conducts electricity so if we could maybe…"

"Alright that's enough. Just a simple answer would have sufficed," Tsuki snapped, cutting Toshi off straight away. He flinched slightly before getting the hint and looking away.

"Just need to find their weaknesses and exploit them any way we can." The pair looked at Pestu's sudden comment; Toshi curious and Tsuki agitated.

"Well that works. Though we're not going to be too extreme are we?" Toshi asked. He was trying to gauge Pestu's true intent. Rather than get a definitive answer, he received a shrug from the boy in question.

"Depends." Petsu said rather indifferently, his eyes never straying from the game system he held.

"Well that's just great. It looks like I'm going to have to do this alone," Tsuki scoffed, Toshi was about to contest the decision when Red Riot's voice echoed through the building.

"Let the battle trial begin!"

Without so much as a second thought Tsuki rushed outside the room to prepare for the hero team's arrival. Toshi looked back at Pestu who stayed where he was in the exact same position before walking off behind Tsuki.

"We're just going to leave him behind? Shouldn't we stick together?" Toshi asked as he sprinted to keep up with Tsuki.

"Go back if you want. He obviously doesn't want to help and I'm busy," Tsuki replied before stopping and activating her quirk. She scanned a five hundred meter radius around her body, immediately picking up the presence of 5 individuals; 2 were her teammates and the other three were the other team. They were slowly making their way upstairs from what she could tell. She also now had their weak points down.

Tsuki Mishiya

Quirk: Deadshot

The user of this quirk can scan individuals in up to a 500 meter radius. This scanning reveals their weak points and allows her to control any projectile uses and guide it to those weak points.

"Found them." Tsuki smirked as she made her way to the nearest ones.

"Wow. You have a long range detection quirk! That's impressive. I'll have to write down features when we've finished this battle trial." Tsuki quickly became agitated by Toshi's behaviour before readying her bionic arm. It transformed to slightly resemble a firearm and she loaded some rounds into it. Toshi became slightly concerned but decided to leave her to it. Tsuki cocked her gun arm and made her way for the other team, Toshi following right behind her.

It hadn't taken them long to go down one set of stairs when the two reached a doorway. Tsuki detected that the other team had split up with two going one way and one going the other. She gestured for Toshi to go after the solo person which he did. She herself went after the other two.

Betatsu:

Betatsu watched Toshi as he made sure to remain alert as he found his way into the room. She knew he would expect the unexpected and approached him slowly from the shadows. As he darted around to catch a glimpse of his opponent or even any clues, he failed to notice several small grapes with vines she had planted in the ground. He soon realised what had happened when his foot landed on one and he became stuck to the ground. He tried to move only to get his other foot stuck as well. Her trap had been laid and he had sprung it; hook, line and sinker.

Betatsu Mineta

Quirk: Grape Spores

The user can release spores that quickly grow into sticky grapes. These grapes can be sticky for an hour up to a whole day.

"Well well well. If it isn't pretty boy! I really hoped it was you." Betatsu peeped around the corner and Toshi became slightly unnerved by her behaviour and terrifyingly sadistic smile on her face.

"Can I help you?" Toshi asked nervously.

Betatsu blushed immediately as lewd thoughts went through her mind, "Oh uh...you...want...to uh help...me?" Her stuttering told Toshi that she may have had some form of social anxiety. She cursed herself, why could she lewd him all she wanted from the privacy of her room, but when it came to actually doing it she couldn't even form a coherent sentence.

"Well your quirk is rather impressive but there's one slight flaw," Toshi pointed out with a small smile. She rushed over to him and pushed herself against his body. She looked up with interested eyes.

"And what would that be Candy Floss?" Toshi tensed up in embarrassment at the nickname, his taut muscles felt good to Betatsu's hand, even through the blue and pink costume he wore.

"Where'd you hear that? Did Kenji tell you?" He asked quickly which resulted in Betatsu's eyes lighting up.

"Ooh Kenji. Who's that? Maybe he'll give me a nickname too!" Betatsu squeaked as blood rushed to her face, turning it beet red in the couldn't help but show little surprise at her reaction. Instead he began to activate his quirk. Light blue energy began to crackle all around his body as he flooded it with raw power. He made sure to focus it into his feet where the grapes were. The ground began to crack and Betatsu jumped back slightly at the movement.

Toshinori Midoriya

Quirk: One for One

The user can stockpile their stamina and then use it either as strength or raw energy.

Then all of a sudden Toshi stopped. Betatsu tilted her head in confusion before noticing him with a little bottle of spray in his right hand. She looked down at her side and saw that it was the same bottle she carried, and it was missing. Her purple demoness costume looked rather silly, especially without the bottle she needed to neutralize her quirk.

"Considering your quirk involves sticky grape-like objects, it was easy to assume you possessed a chemical of sorts to stop the stickiness. Perhaps for your allies to use, just like the hero Grape Juice. Then I noticed this little spray bottle at your waist. When you came closer to me, which was not my intention, I took the opportunity to grab it while you were distracted." Toshi bent down and sprayed the chemical on his feet, the chemical making the stickiness fade. Betatsu watched in horror, as he slowly began to lift his foot up separating from the grape easily.

He glanced up at Betatsu, she was slightly worried that her trap was being easily evaded. Toshi's body lit up once more and he rushed at Betatsu. She tried not to blush as he pinned her to the wall and then used the tape she was meant to use to capture him, to tie her up.

"Best get back to my team. See you around! That was a good match!" Toshi ran away leaving her stuck to wall stammering.

"Betatsu Mineta is out," Red Riot announced.

"B-bondage? On our first date, you're really kinky." Betatsu stammered, smacking herself in the head, "Why didn't I say that sooner?"

Yuno:

Tsuki readied her arm and aimed in front of her. Both of her opponents leapt out to ambush her. She smirked before firing two rounds straight at Yuno and Saori's weak points. For Yuno that was his eyes while Saori's was her chest. The plan was to temporarily blind Yuno and wind Saori. She fired a round, catching Yuno in the eyes, blinding him temporarily.

Yuno opened his eyes and jumped back as the round struck the wall behind him. The memory of the future protecting him from the future that never came.

Tsuki herself had a rather shocked look on her face. A shocked look which coincidentally led into a 'shocking' experience. Yuno watched as Saori rushed Tsuki and activated her quirk, lighting shooting out from her hand. Tsuki dodged out of the way as soon as Saori extended her hand, but her metal arm acted as the perfect conductor.

"Let's crank up the output!" Saori cheered as she turned up her quirk, the lightning arcing through Tsuki's body. It was as Toshi had told her before the match started, her metal arm conducted the electricity. Tsuki cried out in pain as it spread throughout her body and she fell to her knees. She swore under her breath and cursed her own carelessness.

"Not bad Kaminari. The plan worked," Yuno remarked he was feeling good, like nothing could bring him down. Saori beamed as she turned to him, offering him a fist bump. He ignored it and Saori couldn't help but slump slightly at being left hanging.

"Where's the rest of your team?" Yuno as he crouched down to be eye level with Tsuki. He had taken on a passive-aggressive tone in his voice and he had a noticeable stern look on his face.

"Like I'd tell you. How'd you know what I was going to shoot?" She grit her teeth. Yuno sneered slightly.

"Ever wondered why you aimed for my eyes?" He mocked. Tsuki looked down as she pondered his question before she kind of hit her.

"Your quirk."

Yuno Yoshizawa

Quirk:No Future

The user of this quirk can see five seconds into the future with and paralyze someone with their eyes.

Yuno smirked, which gave Tsuki her answer. He then went to activate his quirk again when he felt something jab into his arm. He looked at it and saw a horn which then removed itself and flew away. What followed was surprise. Rather than his actual quirk activating, Yuno, Tsuki and Saori smelt something sweet. A yellow liquid that resembled lemonade seeped out of his skin.

"You know I've got a feeling of deja vu with that quirk." Pestu's voice seemed to catch everyone off-guard, even Tsuki. He was standing in the corridor with his handheld gaming console in his hand. The horn he had used of Yuno slew back to him and landed on the right side of his head; he didn't even flinch.

"What the?" Yuno muttered before receiving an uppercut to the chin from Tsuki who had taken advantage of the situation. Yuno stumbled backwards and glared at her trying to use his quirk again to no avail. Saori on the other hand let electricity crackle around her as she attacked once more. Tsuki dodged again while Pestu continued to stand still. Eventually he sighed in boredom and took one of the discs he had slotted on his belt. He tapped it against one of his horns and then sent it straight at Tsuki who didn't dodge at all. She expected a strength enhanced.

Curse her lack of foresight.

Toshi ran up behind Pestu just in time to see what was about to happen.

Tsuki lunged at Saori, expecting to be able to quite literally tap her and win the match. Instead her body began to spew water and both girls widened their eyes in shock. It was far too late to rectify anything. For the moment Saori's electricity met Tsuki's water there was a discharge that dealt damage to both girls. After a few seconds both girls seemed to 'burn out' and slumped to the ground. They groaned while Tsuki mentally swore to make Pestu regret what he did.

"What was all that about?" asked Toshi before realising Pestu had turned and begun to walk away. He continued to walk and controlled his horn back onto his head.

"What it looks like. Water and electricity don't mix," He said unimpressed before pouring all his focus back into his game, "Now if you excuse me I've got a high score to beat."

"The villain team wins!"

A/N: Well guys, sorry it took me a while to get this bad boy out. I was a bit busy moving and stuff, however I'm not moving any more. Special thanks to Tombsie for helping me get this thing out, he wrote most of the fight. I'll have you know this fight was randomly generated, I did not intend for most of the people in this fight to be introduced already, and I most certainly did not intend for Toshi to be in the first fight. Well here you go guys, Go Beyond! Plus Ultra!
