"Kagome, are you sure about this?"
Printed neatly in front of her was the interview she'd had the night before. Her eyes trailed over the words on the paper as she flipped through the pages. "Yeah, I'll be fine."
"You seem so sure." Sesshoumaru crossed his arms as he leaned against the wall. "This isn't like your other interviews. This is with L, this could backfire on you if Kira sees this broadcasting."
"Still so worried?"
"Always," he sighed and pushed himself off the wall. "Don't get yourself killed so easily after overcoming so many battles in the past." Leaning forward, his long silver hair curtained around the papers that Kagome held. "This isn't a battle that you need to fight, Kagome. These people are not your responsibility."
Kagome looked up and smiled, "Sesshoumaru, these people don't understand how precious life is. They need someone to protect them, or at the least, speak out against the evil that would otherwise have them sacrificed for their own power and gain."
Nodding his head, Sesshoumaru walked off as the camera crew walked in.

L looked up at the screen as the weatherman spoke, though the screen was muted. He was waiting, wanting to see her again. That morning, she'd left before Misa had woken up. Sitting with him and Light, they'd had tea and spoke about the schooling she'd undergone before she became a news anchor. Both were taking their time learning about her.
While L genuinely wanted to get to know her, Light wanted to something else. What? He thought he would have killed her immediately since her full name was known right off the start, however, that wouldn't benefit him. She wasn't a threat to Kira, at least...not yet she wasn't. However, L knew that she would be. Soon enough, she would start to make Kira sweat, he just wondered, how.
"Hey, your Queen is on."
L unmuted the screen.
"-apan and thank you for tuning into Yue TV! I'm Kagome, your faithful and opinionated News Anchor, and today I'm bringing you all a treat straight from the Kira Investigations Task Force!" Kagome smiled as she lifted a packet of paper, "when I was requested to come in and speak to L, I wasn't entirely sure what to think, however, I am glad that I gave into my curiosity. Hm?"
L frowned as another person walked out onto the set and sat down beside her. A man with long flowing white hair and piercing golden eyes. "Who...is this?"
"...you are joining me today?"
"Don't expect me to do this too often, but I figured I could read for L in his place."
A soft laugh sounded, "I thank you for that. Should I introduce you?"
"Taishou, Inuyasha."
"That's horrible!" Kagome scolded, "what if Kira actually kills your brother?"
Shrugging, the man smirked, "life would be much, much, quieter."
Sighing, Kagome shook her head and continued with the papers, turning her eyes to the camera, she smiled, "then, with Taishou-San joining us on today's broadcast, we will be reading the private interview I had with L and one of his hardworking Detectives at the Task Force yesterday. You will also be able to find this interview on Yue TV's website should anyone which to read it. Shall we start our little role play?" She turned to the man beside her.
"When you're ready,"
"When I started this Interview, I asked first what I should introduce the interviewee as. When I go through the unveiling of this interview, I'll need a name for the public. What should I give them?"
"You can tell them honestly that you interviewed L, or you can tell them that an insider had a sit down with you. I'm impartial, however, your answer could put you in a dangerous situation."
"L it is. Well, L, a lot of debate has been recently spurred on just what "Justice" is. Naturally, those who have been easily conditioned and robbed of their most basics of morality, believe that Kira is the embodiment of "Justice". Then there are those who find that you are much closer to such a personification, me included. How do you feel about being called "Justice"?"
"It's not with a sense of Justice that I pursue Kira."
"Oh? Care to elaborate?"
"If I were to explain it...hm, figuring out difficult cases is my hobby. If you measured good and evil deeds by current laws, I too would be responsible for many crime―"

Kagome walked out of the television station and stopped for a moment. A large group of people were yelling, screaming and pushing at several police officers who had created a barricade around the entrance of the TV station. "...what's going on?"
"THERE SHE IS! KAGOME-CHAN! KAGOME-CHAN, YOU SAW L! WHAT WAS HE LIKE?"
"WHERE IS THE TASK FORCE!?"
~BANG!~
"Ahh~!"
Screams were heard loudly in her ears as Kagome ducked on instinct of the loud sound of a gun being fired. A hand grabbed her and pulled her back inside while the police worked to take the crowed in for investigation.
"You need to stay inside until they clear this crowd."
Her eyes widened, 'Watari?' She turned around and frowned, "why are you here?"
"Ryuzaki-San was worried that your broadcast would be received negatively by select viewers."
"Kira fans?"
"The way you ended it was quite interesting, Higurashi-San. We were a bit surprised, bewildered. You truly have no fear, do you."
"...the way I ended the broadcast?" She thought back to earlier.
"I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Kira is no God. Kira is a Killer, a Murderer with a Childish disposition. After meeting L, I know for sure, Kira will be caught. I only hope that it happens soon. The longer Kira is out there playing pretend, the further out of touch humanity gets. We are changing, this world is rotting, and Kira's disease is spreading. How many humans will lose their mortality to his disease? I won't let it spread to me. Kira...I won't be fooled by you. I would choose death before I let you toy with me. I hope to see everyone again tomorrow evening, but if I don't, this is Higurashi, Kagome! Signing off Yue TV. Ja Nai!"
"I guess I ruffled up some feathers?"
Watari smiled kindly, "you did. Kira's followers are the type who are willing to do wrong because they believe it'll help Kira, their God."
She sighed, "I won't hide inside, Watari. You should return to L's side. I will be fine."
"Higurashi-San..."
"I need to head home. I have a long day tomorrow." She bowed and left out the front entrance. Her eyes surveying the crowed as she walked past the yelling and screaming of the crowed. A number on the ground were being held down by officers, others were being pushed into police cruisers. Walking up to the officers, she frowned, "why are you restraining them?"
"Ah, Higurashi-San. They were causing a public disturbance,"
"By who's standards?" Kagome paused and looked the people over, "we aren't pressing charges, let them go, and return to your previous stations."
The officer was silent as he watched her walk off before he carefully released the male beneath him. He turned to the other officers and motioned for them to let the rest of the crowd go.
Kagome focused her energy around her, though no one besides those with pure energy could see it. A subtle glow settled around her as she walked by those who were screaming at her still. Yelling obscenities at her and then the one who'd fired the shot earlier, stood before her. She let her eyes settle on the gun and watched it raise to point at her. "Are you going to kill me?"
"Kira will be the God of a new world...someone who has no problem in speaking out against him...has no room in this new world!"
Kagome frowned at that, "so ready to kill for Kira. You have no problem losing your soul to the cause of a Murderer...what a cruel new world we must look forward to. If that's the kind of world your God is to rule, then I ask you kindly, please don't miss."
The gun, shaking in the man's hand as he trembled. Angry eyes weighed down heavily on her before he closed his eyes and yelled, "DIE!"
~BANG!~
A searing pain flooded her senses as she was brought to her knees by the sudden white flash that echoed through her body.
"KAGOME!"
"NO, KAGOME-CHAN!"
"HIGURASHI-SAN!"
