Ryan felt as if he was no longer in control of his body. As if someone was moving and thinking for him.

"Where are the other campers?" Eric asked. His voice bounced and echoed inside Ryan's skull.

Ryan tried to focus, but the drugs and venom were proving to be a challenge. Not only were they clouding his focus, but also tempting him to spill the truth. He had to say something, and quickly, or else Shannon would be hurt.

"Uhhhhhhh…" was all Ryan could manage.

Eric gave a disapproving glare before drawing his pistol out and hitting Shannon on the back of her head with it. She let out a cry in pain.

"Stop it… please…" Ryan weakly gasped, struggling to sit up.

"Then you'll tell me where they are." This time, he aimed his pistol at Shannon, who cried softly. He began counting down.

"Five."

Ryan was praying to come up with an answer.

"Four."

Come on. God, please.

"Three."

Something. Anything.

"Two."

That's it.

"One."

"Okay, I'll tell you!" Ryan shouted. "They're… over on Main Street," he lied.

Thankfully, Eric seemed to buy it. He lowered his firearm and holstered it. Grabbing Shannon by her hair, he ordered a nearby guard to open the cage, and threw her in next to Ryan. Locking the cage door, the guard followed Eric out of the tent.

When she knew they were alone, the first thing Shannon did to Ryan was kiss him gently on his lips. The kiss felt like forever, until both gasped for air.

"Baby, are you alright?" she asked. By now Ryan was so subdued that he had to lie down, his head in her lap.

Ryan nodded weakly. "Don't you dare worry about me. What about you?" He reached out to touch her cheek.

"Nothing I can't handle," she said with a weak smile.

"We'll get out of here, trust me," Ryan said. "But for now, I think I'll take a nap."

Ryan passed out, with Shannon gently stroking his head.

A gust of sand woke Ryan up. Looking around, he was no longer in the Mantah Corp tent, or on Isla Nublar, for that matter. Instead, he was in a hot desert, alone without Shannon.

Two figures appeared from the dust cloud in front of him. Two familiar faces.

"Jack? Dave?" Ryan was in disbelief. "What are you guys doing here?"

"Oh, relax, Ryan. This is just a dream and we're figments of your imagination," Dave said with a grin.

"Are you gonna just give up and die on this rock?" Jack asked. "Let everyone down and become some forgotten loser?"

"No. No! NO! WE WILL GET BACK HOME! ALIVE! TOGETHER! STRONGER!" Ryan screamed at the top of his lungs. It was a dream, who cares?

Gasping for air, Ryan sat up suddenly, opening his eyes. He looked over to see Shannon, who was also asleep, spooning next to him.

As Ryan recollected his thoughts and his dream, he felt Shannon wrap her arms around his neck from behind.

"You were talking in your sleep. You alright, babe?"

Ryan nodded without turning back. "I will be. For now, we gotta get out of here."

At that moment, a guard entered the tent and unlocked the door. He raised his rifle to Ryan and Shannon and ordered them to get out.

"What's this about?" Ryan asked. Both he and Shannon raised their arms.

"You are going to lead us to the campers. Now, shut up and move."

A little while later, Ryan and Shannon were leading Eric and a handful of guards to Main Street.

"Got something in mind?" Shannon whispered.

Ryan nodded. "Big T."

"Quiet," Eric ordered sternly. He did not seem to hear what they said, however.

Eventually, the group arrived. Trash was all over the ground. Furniture was knocked over.

"Better start talking."

"They're taking shelter over there." Ryan pointed at the hotel where they stayed earlier.

"Fine. We'll go. You two, stay here," Eric commanded, looking at two of the guards. He and the rest headed for the hotel. Once they were alone, the two guards pointed their guns at Ryan and Shannon.

"Go to that snack shack and get us some drinks," one of them orders.

Ryan and Shannon look at each other before complying.

"No tricks," the other said.

Ryan and Shannon took a couple bottles of water and soda.

Suddenly, a thud. It was far, but noticeable.

Then another one. Louder. Closer. Ryan paid attention to the water bottle in his hand.

Again. The water shook and rippled in the bottle.

Ryan turned to Shannon. "This is our chance," he whispered.

"Hurry up with those drinks!" a guard says in frustration.

The two emerge from the shack, drinks in hand as if nothing was happening.

"Finally! I'm dying out here. Give them over. Slowly."

Then, from towards paddock nine, the tyrannosaurus appeared. She stopped and sniffed before turning towards the group of four.

The guards looked up in terror, momentarily lowering their guns.

Ryan and Shannon tackled the guards suddenly and grabbed the guns, only having enough time to toss them aside. Ryan also managed to take a couple of grenades from his guard.

Stunned, the guards could only scream as the rex's jaws clamped around their bodies.

Ryan and Shannon sprinted, hand-in-hand, hopefully escaping before Eric and the others returned. However, it was too late, and Eric and his guards returned from the hotel, drawn by the screaming and roaring.

Instinctively, Ryan unpinned and threw one of the grenades he took. It was a smoke grenade, allowing him and Shannon to escape.

Eric and his guards stumble around in the thick gray cloud. They then see a large shadow also in the smoke.

The tyrannosaur emerged, roaring so loudly that most of the guards scurry for their lives. Even Eric gives the order to retreat.

However, one guard was lost and dazed in the smoke. He came face to face with the rex towering over him.

Growling, she suddenly lunged, grabbing and shaking the guard in her jaws. She tossed him down the main road, his body bouncing.

In terror, he crawled away backwards, screaming and shouting for help, until he almost falls and loses his grip. Putting two and two together, he was at the edge of a large body of water. The mosasaurus pool.

The mosasaur strikes from below. She devours the guard in one gulp, splashing water across the pavement. Just as quickly as she came, she returned to her watery world.

"Jesus," Shannon said, watching from a distance with Ryan.

"Rule number one: the enemy you don't see is the one that gets you. C'mon, we have to meet up with Chris and the others."
