I let myself get dragged by Avalyn to one of Laura's sleepovers. She had a knack for persuading people, and once she used her turquoise eyes for such evil practices like puppy eyes I couldn't deny her request. Laura was one of the new students that recently arrived at the campus together with her friend Undine, based on the knowledge I possessed both their fathers got transferred for work. First I couldn't believe how Laura could be friends with Undine, that crazy girl must have had some screws loose in her head after all, yet my doubts of their relationship withered when I saw what Laura was truly capable of. The backstory behind her strength was also something I never expected. Apparently, before her family moved to America she used all her time in the world to train, so she could knock out a guy if she was threatened with a gun, I wasn't sure whatever Judo would help her against guns but after seeing how she easily tossed material objects at people my opinion on that topic changed. However she quickly realized how she had no need for this monster strength when arriving here, but she kept on polishing her muscles so someday she carry her future husband. Avalyn being the secret hopeless romantic she was, used Laura's impressive arms for free rides, bride style ones. Their difference in height always made it look somehow amusing. Recently I even heard these two planning a wedding for a convention so Avalyn could experience it.
Even if I agreed to come here against my will, I decided to take this opportunity and try to find some blackmail material, I heard these two newcomers had some love matters left at their state.
How did I know such juicy details would be spilled? Because Undine informed me that there will be a call by Skype with their love intrests, but at this point, I couldn't do but suspect that I simply caught her bone that she threw to make sure I popped up today.
For now, the party was in full course, the loudest people being Laura and Erin, a tomboy with messy strawberry blond hair. Even if Laura was known for being shy inside the school with her friends by her side she felt like another person. I felt cheated in a way because, since the first time I meet her, I defined her as miss saint. Although she is a very kind soul her craziness and blunt personality would make anyone forget about this single trait.
"It's already 8:20 PM already where the hell are they?" Laura wondered as she invited nine girls in total and so long three of them were missing. Neither of them bothered to give us a call even if they announced prior they would attend the sleepover. When Avalyn decided to give them a call worried that something bad may have occurred no one answered.
"Screw them, let them be sorry for not showing up and having a blast," Erin said as she wanted to do another activity seeing as she was bored out of her mind.
"So what are we going to do now?" I asked plastering a sweet smile on my face, trying to act nicely since I considered solely Avalyn as my friend. But somehow these gurls could always tell when I was acting.
"Please no, this kind of smile gives me the creeps. You can go back to your usual bitch resting face." Erin said as she held her body in her tiny arms, their intuitive skills must have been extraordinary since my acting skills were indeed flawless.
"But this is my usual smile." I tried to persuade them, but it was in vain.
"It's not like we going to start to hate you just because you reveal your true intentions, we are all crazy around here." Aspen piped up a mischievous smile resting on her face. Laura nodded as she added her blunt out of nowhere statement.
"Manipulative people are also people." some agreed furthermore Undine added.
"You already know some of our secrets, it would be a mistake of letting you go." I saw a kind gaze looking my way coming from Catalina.
"You already became our friend, no matter if you want it or not. We going to sprinkle some love and friendship into you and you will become a new person." even if she meant well it sounded like some kind of threat. Apparently following Avalyn into their circle of friends was a mistake, but I couldn't have abandoned my only friend to these hyenas. I patted Avalyn's soft chocolate brown hair to calm my mind.
"How about we go back to having fun?" of course she would protect me. I smirked while looking at the horde of small children, but they only send me vicious smirks back as if they had something in the stash for me. Laura took back her role as the host, after refilling the snacks she decided to suggest a different activity.
"My dear guest, what are you saying about having a little cosplay competition?" she attempted to make a British accent but failed miserably. If Tabitha made it to the sleepover she would have probably lectured her about it. Suddenly Erin returned to her hyper self, which made me wonder whatever it would have been the best if I confiscated all the sweets that were placed in this room. And about the cosplay thing, we did arrive with our cosplays to the party as well as our pajamas, but the girls wanted to trade if possible. It would have been difficult in my case since I was the tallest out of this bunch, I was hovering like a tower around everyone else gathered here. Sometimes this fact makes me feel like a kindergarten teacher, especially around Erin, Laura and Undine the trio that hung with each other often. Cat was also one of the smallest in our group.
Laura soon put on a playlist which consisted of K-pop and opening songs from anime, occasionally we heard someone humming or straight out singing to the lyrics of the songs that were played. Laura got to show off her outfit first, cosplaying as Lucy from Fairy Tail. Covering her black hair with a blonde wig that surprisingly did fit her. Really taken into her role she had to demonstrate a Lucy kick.
Erin came next dressing as Haruhi from Ouran High School Host Club, covering her hair with a brown colored wig. She still looked like a tomboy since putting up make-up that covered her freckles didn't let her seem more feminine, maybe if she was a tad taller she could pass as a handsome guy.
Undine came next cosplaying as Juvia also from Fairy Tail, these two probably had a mutual agreement.
"You missed a strand of hair." Laura pointed out as she helped Undine placing her brown locks back into the wig. It didn't take much for Undine to start messing around as she chased Laura saying things like.
"Gray-sama is mine!" But my attention shifted to Avalyn that choose to wear the Sebastian cosplay from Black Butler. With red contact lenses and a black wig, she looked like a man I would see myself chasing after.
"You're so handsome." I complimented her, she only nodded but I could see embarrassment appearing in her clear eyes. Aspen was only complaining against the idea of changing clothes, she wanted to stay put while taking as many pictures as possible. After some ten minutes of constant bickering, they shoved her into the bathroom with a Sakura cosplay at hand as I decided to show off my cosplay as Light Yagami from death note, but considering I forgot to bring a chest binder in all this haste I looked more like his female version.
Lastly, Catalina covered her brown hair with a blue-colored wig, dressing as another character from Fairy Tail, Levy. Now when everyone was dressed up Laura and Undine decided to have the strangest chat.
"So, you mean that some random guys are destined to invade your home?" Aspen asked Laura while she nodded. Everyone stared at her not believing a word that came out her mouth.
"How do you know that?" I asked, did she sniff out someone making this plan or what?
"We went to a fortune teller, Laura here wanted to know which day would be the best for a sleepover. The woman at the booth told us that no matter which day we choose 10 guys would storm the house, their intentions being far away from causing us just a single scare. Hence she advised us to lay a trap, how the only way we could make them not pursue their fantasies was blackmailing them or something." Undine explained while Laura just nodded every single word, puffing her cheeks making them really squishy.
"And why should we believe some crazy lady?" I asked, having many doubts about this encounter taking place.
"Well suit yourself, but when those dudes arrive I will be prepared to kick their asses." She nodded being really determined to fulfill this quest she set herself on. I shook my head finding it ridiculous, but soon this information was forgotten since it was time for posing for photos.
"I'm so going to put these on my Facebook." I saw Aspen editing slightly some photos inside an app as she later decided to post them on social media.
"Just don't mark me on them. " I said glaring in her direction.
"I didn't even plan to." Laura decided to snatch the phone from Aspen as she wanted some of the photos on her own. That's when we all decided to change back to our pajamas which were, in fact, more comfortable. When everyone changed their clothes another suggestion to pass time left Laura's lips.
"Let's see some anime!" in a matter of seconds a huge fight broke out, Laura was saying how she as the host should decide the anime title, meanwhile Erin didn't hold back to tell her how we as her precious guest should have the right to decide. Avalyn looked at the outcome and soon she was blessed with a great solution. She rose from her seat and clapped her hands together catching everyone's attention.
"Since none of us can come to an agreement, how about we make a lottery." Everyone put their suggestion on a small card which we then shuffled plus Avalyn got the honor to pick the card since she was the one that suggested the idea.
"Black Butler Season 2." All the girls looked at each other and nodded in unison liking the idea. Laura set up the equipment so we could watch it on the big tv-screen that was inside her room. Everything went smoothly until Avalyn decided to claim Sebastian as hers, followed by others doing likewise toward the other characters. Erin and Catalina were in a dispute who Ciel belonged to. It hardly stopped there, because Undine and Aspen started to fight about Alois.
"Then I claim the triplets!" Laura stood up having this dreamy look in her eyes while she softly whispered.
"A triplet harem." she got many looks of worry since her cheeks started to blush, who knew what she was thinking about.
"Oh no, but then I wouldn't be able to hold one of their hands." so she was only fantasizing of holding hands and receiving flowers most likely. Everyone looked back at me since I haven't revealed my choice.
"I choose Ashe," I said in a boring tone, wondering if these guys would start talking about each-others real crushes next. But I was mistaken since they all went back to fight about fictional men. This time Laura and Avalyn stayed away, these two had a good time talking about simple vanilla stuff in relationships. I munched on some snacks, being fortunate to see my besties genuine smile, but the girls' serious debate on who had the best ass in Black Butler ceased when we heard Artie, Laura's dog growl. None of this seemed like normal behavior since he looked like a behaved dog. Laura ran to the window and peeked out.
"Is something wrong?" I asked being a little scared of the dog's low growling that became even louder each second. It sounded like Artie was ready to attack someone.
"I thought someone was down there, but I was mistaken. I will go down to calm Artie." Whatever she said didn't seem to be the case, she spoke as if she wanted the people downstairs to overhear her. After she closed the window a serious expression appeared on her face.
"They are here." She replied, everyone looked at her with questioned looks, only Undine seemed to know what was truly going on.
"Let's go beat some asses," she said having this crazy look in her golden eyes.
"Guys, what is going on?" Cat asked being rather scared of the strange shift in the attitude.
"The guys are here, let's give them a welcoming party," Laura said with a sinister look.
"So who are they?" Undine asked it seemed that Laura got a slight glance at her future opponents.
"Al and Matt, I think his whole gang is over there. Ok so here is my plan, we are going to invite them in, when they are off their guards we strip them off from their weapons, however, most of you need to stay here and make as much noise as possible. Fight, laugh sing a song, whatever takes to make them believe the party is still in full motion." Nobody seemed pleased, after all, Al and his gang were known for carrying their weapons around in broad daylight. None of the teachers ever made a single pipe about it, which once was enough to peak up my interest on that topic. By gathering some information I realized Oliver, Vincent and Flavio kept on donating large sums of money to the school to keep the teachers' mouths shut.
"I want to go down!" Erin volunteered but instead of doing it like a normal human being she shouted it on the top of her lungs causing Laura and Undine snapping at her for being too loud.
"These idiots could hear you." In the end, Laura took Erin to keep her quiet from revealing our plan, Aspen was chosen as the third person. Leaving Undine depressed since she was the most enthusiastic about this.
We that remained looked at each other wondering how we would keep our self occupied, that's when Catalina decided to blast some music, introducing us to karaoke.
So next chapter we will finally find out what the girls planned out~ What kind of blackmail will they come up with?
