A week has passed since Masamune's memory of Ritsu disappeared into the dark corners of his mind. Masamune has returned to his councilman duties after a week of rest and therapy. Everything was good for him, he had a great rank and aside from minor headaches, he felt completely healthy. But part of him was empty and he didn't know why.

Opposite from Masamune, Ritsu is getting more sick as the next hour passes. Ritsu had no energy to move from his small comfy room and often skipped meals to rest. His once peach appearance now a sickly gray and hazel hair falling to pieces. Everything was spiraling for him but Ritsu regretted none of what he did to save his lover.

Ritsu's point of view

I glance at my bloody wrist somberly. My memory walk through(s) are back and as the hour passes I am growing more tired of bandaging my wounded wrists over and over. "Ritsu-san," I heard from behind the door that I always kept locked.

"It's Misaki, um, I've brought some warm soup for you since you have trouble keeping things down now." I ignored the shivering in the tone of his voice and stood up to unlock the door, only to stagger as pain spread throughout my back. "Ritsu-San?" I muttered a quick reassurance before continuing to walk towards the locked door. When I finally reached the door and unlocked it, I was met with the sight of Misaki and Usami-San carrying a small tray. "May we come in?" Usami-san's deep voice rang through the hallways and I nodded my approval before stumbling closer to the wall to let them in.

"How have you been?" I glanced at Ritsu as he fiddled with his fingers. "I only have about three weeks left, how do you think I feel? How is Masamune?" It was my turn to fidget, I messed with my former engagement ring that I kept on a chain around my neck. "He is good, minor headaches here and there but he Is fine." I nodded relieved. "Thank you for lunch." I said politely, but in complete honesty I wasn't hungry. I had stopped feeling the urge of hunger two days ago.

"Ritsu I have minor errands to run, would you mind if Misaki stayed here with you?"

I shook my head before settling down on my bed. "Does it hurt?" Misaki asked as he cuddle up in my chest. I paused for a moment to decide on my answer, should I lie to keep him from worrying or should I tell the truth and be the cause of his distress? I finally decided that the truth would be better, I am dying anyways so why deny it? "It does hurt. But I don't regret anything I have done for him." He nodded before tapping my pale arm nervously.

"Why won't you eat?" He whispered as if speaking in a normal tone would break me. "I have long since stopped feeling the urges of hunger." "C-can you just eat a little?" I looked down at his mop of brown hair solemnly and sat up. If it made him feel better then I shall do this one simple task, I only have three weeks left after all.

Misaki watched me throughout my struggle to not heave and rid my body of the warm meal. Spoonful after spoonful I swallowed the light soup that floated with fresh little celery dices until I finished a quarter of the bowl. It was tasty but instead of digesting the light meal my body rejected it and I felt myself heave over my plastic trash can beside my bed. Misaki rubbed my back shakily as I regurgitated the minuscule portion of soup I swallowed.

When my vomiting regressed to dry heaving, I used a wet cloth to wipe my mouth and stood up to wash the taste of celery and vomit from my mouth. I took out a travel sized mouth wash bottle and emptied the contents into my mouth before swishing the burning liquid around. After a while I spat out the liquid into the sink and looked at myself in the mirror. My skin looked pale and sickly, my thin hair was matted with sweat, and my arms looked as if I was beat up from all the cuts and bruises. I glanced once more at my appearance before leaving the bathroom and returning to my bed where Misaki sat.

Misaki scooted over and laid down as I got comfortable on the bed. "How are things with Usami-San?" Misaki blushed before settling himself close to me.

"We are doing great, um, his wings are a dark gray now. So the process is taking place." I nodded before speaking once more.

"That's great. Congratulations." He thanked me and settled his head upon my chest. Moments after, he fell asleep, listening to the steady beat of my heart. My body started to feel the effects of all the memory walk-through(s) and the regurgitation of the light meal. I felt tired. 'So damn tired'. I pulled the blanket around us and closed my eyes and succumbed to the fatigue that clawed at my consciousness.

Misaki's Point of View~

I jumped up awake as a ear drum bursting scream echoed in the room. I looked at the origin of the noise and let out a whimper. Ritsu-San was screaming in his sleep and where he slept was covered in blood. "Ritsu-San! Ritsu-San!" I shook him trying to wake him up from his memory walk-through. "Ritsu-san!" I screamed again shaking him more violently. When he didn't wake I began to panic, what if he had lost too much blood?

Suddenly as if shaken, he leaned over the edge of his bed and vomited blood. I covered my mouth as sobs threatened to overflow. I removed my hands from my mouth and rubbed his back gently as he dry heaved. Ritsu grabbed the glass of water off the bed side table and chugged it as if he was a dying man in the Sahara. "Would you like me to draw a bath Ritsu-San?" I saw his head move vertically.

I walked into the connected bathroom and turned the circular knobs, that controlled the temperature of the water, to what I assumed to be a great bath temperature. I reached under the sink for the bubble bath, and I pulled it out from behind some other bathing products with little difficulty. It was a cucumber and mint scent bubble bath, his favorite. After squeezing a bit of the slimy substance under the flow of the water I tested the temperature with my fingers to make sure it wasn't too hot or too cold for his frail body.

"Ritsu-San the water is ready!" I ran out the bathroom to help him but he just shook his head and stood up cautiously. "Thank you." He whispered slowly stripping out of his clothes and placing them in the faux wood hamper. I sat beside the bathtub on the closed lid of the toilet watching silently as he washed away the smell of vomit off his pale skin.

In my head, thoughts ran in every which direction. His condition worsened every minute that passed and the act of bathing was hard on his body. "Misaki, I-I have made a decision. I will be leaving the estate." I tensed before standing up to protest. "That is absurd for what reason? Why won't you stay here for the three weeks you have left?" I watched him shake his head slowly. "And have you watch as I rot? Misaki I am fading, and quickly."

Tears welled up in my eyes. "And if I decide to tell Takano-San about you?"

I watched as fire lit into his eyes and with more energy than before he stood up, water shaking around him angrily, and yelled, "You will refrain from such an action!" Silence rang throughout the humid bathroom.

"What if he remembers and won't fall into a coma? We could save you."

Ritsu-San remained silent and shook his head. "The risk is not worth it. After I get dressed, we should take a walk." I could only nod.

Why him?

Third POV-

Two tall gentlemen walked side by side towards the diverse garden of the estate, as they walked they conversed about the meeting that had just taken place. The topic of the meeting was the recent spotting of unknown auras scattered around the barrier of the estate. Witnesses, who were individually brought into the room, stated that the air was pungent with the smell of rotting flesh and that there was an oppressing atmosphere.

Both men shivered as they recalled the most chilling witness. The witness had sickly pale skin, blond hair that hung in greasy strings over her left eye, and an alarming fear of shadows.

"There wasn't just one," she paused to let out a cough that indicated her, newly diagnosed sickness. "I couldn't breathe, the air was so odorous and the pressure seemed too much. I felt as if someone was standing on my chest-". A cough prevented her from continuing forward, she heaved forward to try to stop her delicate body from shivering.

"Maybe we should move this meeting for another time."

"No-" She paused to let out a chest hurting cough. "Let us continue." There was a pause of silence but the men in the meeting room nodded in confirmation.

"I remember black shadows in the trees watching me in delight as I-," She paused to hold back a cough only to vomit darkly colored blood. "Get a medic!" Masamune yelled to the guard standing inside in shock at the copious amounts of blood. The guard rushed out to fetch a medic but before he could make it back the woman fell to the floor in her own blood. "Heavens Above!" yelled the guard, who rushed back, as he saw the blood. The head medic, Hisae, flipped the girl over and checked for a pulse in the young maiden.

She was dead.

Ritsu smiled softly at the colorful array of flowers as he wheeled around the garden, due to Misaki's constant anxiety about his legs giving out he decided to get a wheelchair. "Aren't they lovely Misaki?" A whimpered response was given,

"Y-yes of c-course Ritsu-s-san." Ritsu's smile turned to a slight frown.

"Misaki," he waited for a response and continued when he received one, "I have three weeks left. We should spend this time with happy memories." A moment passed as they watched Robin birds flap around gracefully around their nest up in the tree.

"Does that mean you will stay? I'd like you to stay."

Misaki knew deep down that Ritsu-san would not change his mind, he was always a stubborn fellow.

"No I will still leave in two weeks time." Silence covered the landscape as Misaki finally let it soak that he was losing his beloved friend. He wanted deeply to change Ritsu-san's mind but, How?

"Excuse me, I'd like to introduce myself. I am Masamune Takano- one of the councilmen." Ritsu could feel his heart skip at the deep raspy voice of his lost lover.

"I am Oda. It is a pleasure Takano-san." Ritsu held his breath. 'Stupid why didn't you use another name'. He glanced at the raven haired man anxious for his response.

"The pleasure is mine, pardon me, but have we met?" Ritsu shook his head rapidly.

"I don't believe so." The councilman nodded seemingly confused.

"Well sorry to bother, we will take our leave." Ritsu glanced at Yokozawa sadly before watching them leave towards the mansion.

"I'm so sorry Ritsu-san."

It was late night , Ritsu was alone in his bedroom clenching his teeth to keep in his screams. His other wing was hanging on to what seemed like the thinnest thread in history. He lost his other one the night before Misaki and Usami-san went to visit. A heightened moment of agony hit Ritsu before he heard a snap, indicating the separation of the wing from his body. A whimper left the wingless man and he was desperate to fall asleep and never wake again.

'Close your eyes angel, i'll be here when you wake'

At that moment, that exact moment, he was at peace. Ritsu closed his eyes and the tears that fell from them were warm and slow. He could hear the thumping of his slowing heart, it was slow..peaceful.

Nothing hurt anymore.
