Deku has the Divine Pulse from Fire Emblem Three Houses. Sothis is constantly exasperated.
Because doing Manakete Deku is too cliché.
Divine Pulse Deku
"You're my hero, kid!"
Izuku felt himself start to fade. A villain had ambushed him on the way home, and he was in some dire straits indeed. His vision was going dark, and soon he would die. Ah, there goes his vision. Here we go.
He only hoped she wouldn't be too harsh with him.
"You absolute fool! Did you not think to look where you were walking? Why, it's almost as if you wanted to get murdered today!"
Well, he's always been nothing if not optimistic. He opened his eyes to a familiar sight.
His quirk specialist had called it a mindscape, of sorts. A large chamber with a raised platform, with a large set of stairs leading up to it. A stone throne upon a stone dais, tall enough that it's usual occupant looked even smaller than normal while sitting on it. Or rather, lounging on it, as she was wont to do.
She, being, the young looking girl with long, green hair, green eyes, pointy ears, and an outfit to make most decent people feel a mite uncomfortable. And those green eyes were looking at him with their typical disdain.
Well, he liked to think it was born from worry.
"Well? Are you going to speak? Or has your ability to form speech left your possession, as well as your situational awareness?"
...He really, really did think it was. Hopefully.
Izuku looked away, rubbing the back of his head. "S-Sorry, Sothis. G-Guess I got caught up in my own thoughts."
Sothis' expression softened a moment, before she was rolling her eyes. "Honestly, to think I'm stuck with such an airhead."
It was tough, having your own quirk be so critical of you. He...was pretty sure she cared about him, but even so, perhaps she could be a bit less...well, critical at times?
"I'll cease my criticisms once they are no longer necessary," Sothis said, folding her arms and sitting upright. Oh, right. She could hear his thoughts. She sighed, unfolding them again. "Alright, let's just get on with it, shall we? And this time, choose a different path home, okay?"
Standing up she held out a hand, and a golden circle appeared. It had an intricate design, one that he had sketched in his notebook to try and decipher its meaning. Despite it's incredible power, it just seemed to be utter nonsense as far as the internet was concerned.
"Now, I shall turn back the hands of time."
And turn they did.
(Of course, had Sothis not been so quick to save her...person's life, he would have met his idol and even become his successor. However, that has merely become an alternate route, walked by a different Izuku.)
Izuku flinched as awareness returned. Looking around he saw himself near the underpass he had previously walked under. Turning on his heel, he took a different path home. Slower, yes, but less likely to involve attempted homicide.
He had almost ran to the scene of an explosion, however-
"Ugh, can you not cease your foolishness for even a second!? Honestly, you are such a child sometimes!"
-he'd been dissuaded from doing so. Shame, he might have seen All Might there. He'd heard that the number one hero had been in town.
Ah well.
It was The Day. The day of the UA entrance exam! Izuku gulped. He'd spent the last ten months working on his situational awareness and general fitness. It was easy to keep up the hard work required when you had a critical loli living in your head.
"Must you use that term in reference to me? Honestly, I don't want anyone, not even you, thinking of me in such a way."
Sending a mental apology to Sothis, Izuku took a step forward.
His face was rushing to meet the floor before Sothis paused time again.
"Has all of your work for the last ten months been for nothing? What did you even trip over, anyway? How are you to become a hero if you can't even stay on your own two feet?" Sothis gave a despairing sigh. "I shall turn back time, but if you trip again you are on your own!"
Fair enough.
(And as Sothis rewound time, neither noticed the round faced girl reaching out to touch him. Yet another path that this Izuku would not walk.)
Robots. The exam was robots. Oh dear.
"This is the entrance exam for the prestigious UA High School? I am not impressed in the slightest." Sothis said, her voice echoing in his head.
"Maybe there's more to it than that," Izuku muttered. Could UA, the number one hero school (if you didn't include Shiketsu, for whatever reason) really have such a straight forward exam?
"I hope your infatuation for All Might isn't making you try to justify this nonsense?" Sothis said, then hummed. "Although, perhaps there might be some truth to it. There is more to heroics than merely defeating villains."
"Maybe. At least, I hope so, because I'm not sure how I can even get close enough to the robots to touch the off switch mentioned in the pamphlet-"
"Excuse me, but what exactly is your angle, here?" A hand landed on his shoulder, and Izuku jumped to face the blue-haired boy who spoke up during the briefing. "Are you trying to distract everyone with your muttering? Are you attempting to sabotage everyone here?"
"Excuse you, indeed!" Sothis said, appearing next to Izuku in a flash. The blue-haired boy flinched at her sudden appearance. "I might ask you the very same question. Izuku is trying to prepare himself for the exam, and here you are interrupting us!"
"A-Ah, Sothis, i-it's fine," Izuku said, holding his hands up.
"It most certainly is not!" Sothis said, folding her arms.
"S-See here! What is this? Who are you? Are you with him? Are you working together? A-Are you two trying to sully the sanctity of this exam by cheating? And what are you wearing!?"
Sothis huffed, floating away from the loud blue boy. "Why would I feel the need to answer you? You have been incredibly rude since the moment you introduced yourself. Besides, I fear it would take far too long, since the exam is soon to-"
"BEGIN!" Everyone present- who had been absorbed in the spectacle before them- jumped and looked up towards Present Mic. "WHAT'S WRONG? THERE'S NO COUNTDOWN IN LIFE, YOU KNOW?"
As if a switch had been flipped, everyone started running. All except Izuku, who was still struck stupid by the chain of events he'd just lived through.
"Oh, this is just typical. Now we've fallen behind!" Sothis huffed, sitting in the air with her arms folded. "I shall have to turn back time again, back to before you started muttering. Hopefully this time that blue-haired menace will leave us well alone!"
"Y-Yeah, that might be for the best," Izuku said, staring at the open gate with a slump.
(Once more, the earth rotated in reverse. And yet another path was born.)
"Ooh, another one! That green haired boy has been racking up a fair few rescues under his belt," a sultry voice said. The UA teachers were sat watching the exam in their room. They didn't enjoy watching children get injured, but the robots were programmed to be incapable of serious damage.
And if they caused it anyway? Well, that's what Recovery Girl was for.
"Hmm, I wonder what his quirk is." A gruff voice said. "He seems to just know where to run to help people when they need it."
"Let's see, Midoriya Izuku, is it?" Another man said. His comically giant metallic claws delicately tapped at a screen, bringing up the student's file. "Hmm, Divine Pulse, it's called. It allows him to- HOLY SHIT!"
A tall man nearly fell out of his seat. "M-Majima-san!? What is it?"
Majima blinked, gaping at the screen. "W-Well, it says here that Midoriya's quirk lets him reverse time!"
"Come again?"
"Say what?"
"Bleck!"
As the sound of blood dripping served as the only sound in the room, a tired man looked at the screen with the vaguest sense of interest. After a second's thought, he narrowed his eyes.
If that boy passed he was having him in his class. And if his theory was correct, the boy would have to either shape up, or ship out.
Well, so far Izuku hadn't managed to shut down any of the robots. However, he had been able to save a few people from injury by way of reversing time, ensuring that those examinees being injured became merely another alternate path on time's journey. Still, he was starting to get tired.
Turns out that reversing the temporal flow of the entire universe was a tad exhausting. Who knew?
"I truly hope that there is some hidden point system for heroic actions. Otherwise, this whole excursion has been a waste of time."
Izuku shook his head and wiped his brow. "No, as long as I've helped people, then that's all I need. B-Besides, there are other hero schools."
"But none that you wish to attend like UA," Sothis said, voice softer than normal. "Still, I suppose I shouldn't expect you to say any less."
Before Izuku could respond, the world shook.
"THAT is the Zero Pointer!? What on earth were they thinking?!"
As Izuku craned his neck up to look, he croaked in agreement. The Zero Pointed was HUGE! Capital everything! It was taller than the buildings around it! It was a colossus! It-
"Is going to crush you if you don't not snap out of it! Fly you fool!"
And as Izuku prepared to flee with everyone else, a single sound stopped him.
"Ow!"
Turning around, Izuku watched, horrified, as the Zero Pointer approached a girl. She had fallen down, her leg stuck under some rubble.
"Sothis."
"Yes, yes, I know, you do not need to say a thing."
Once time had settled back into place, Izuku wasted no time in running forward. And as the Zero Pointer arrived yet again, as the earth shook and the examinees fled, he ran towards the girl.
He pushed her out of the way, and the debris landed on his leg.
"GAH!"
"O-Oh my gosh!" The girl gasped, getting to her feet and running over.
"Oh for the love of- are you utterly braindead? How are you supposed to help anyone by injuring yourself!" Sothis said, voice dripping with exasperation. "Honestly, I don't know what you would do without me!"
Time turned back again, and Izuku stumbled mid run. He resumed his run and approached the girl again.
"H-Huh?!" She gasped as, this time, Izuku grabbed her by the wrist.
"S-Sorry!" Izuku yanked her to the side.
"H-Hey! What's the big id-" She cut herself off when a chunk of debris landed just where she would have been. "O-Oh…" She turned rather pale.
"Come on!" Grabbing her wrist, he pulled her away from the Zero Pointer.
After a minute or so more of running, Present Mic announced the end of the exam. Izuku and the girl slowed to a stop.
"Th-Thanks for helping me, back there!" The girl said, smiling sunshine and rainbows.
Izuku's cheeks warmed up. "O-Oh, it's no problem."
"And how much longer are you going to hold the girl's hand? Honestly, this is what gets you called a creep for the next three years."
Izuku dropped her hand like it was hot. Maybe even as warm as his face. "W-W-Well, s-see you around! M-Maybe in UA!"
"Y-Yeah!" She called after him, blinking as he left her in the dust. She hoped they would. She wouldn't mind getting to know her saviour better.
(They would meet again, but later than they otherwise might have done. Because, like the wing flaps of a butterfly, this interaction changed the course of history. For without giving her a chance to save him, Uraraka Ochako wouldn't have the required points to get into the hero course.
But alas, such is the way of things.)
Extra Scene
"Damn Deku! How did you pass!?" Katsuki spat, looming over Izuku.
"Maybe because he isn't a toddler that throws a fit over everything?" Sothis scoffed, appearing next to them.
"FUCK OFF, WASHBOARD!"
"S-Sothis, please!"
Sothis huffed. "Forgive me for calling it as I see it. Honestly, I'm surrounded by children."
The two boys stared at her, blank faced. The childlike embodiment of Izuku's quirk raised a brow.
"What?"
"Fucking hypocrite."
"Huh?" She looked down at her own body, then back to Katsuki, turning red with indignation. "I SHALL PREVENT YOUR CONCEPTION YOU LITTLE TWERP!"
"JUST TRY IT, SHORTSTACK!"
"N-NO, SOTHIS, PLEASE DON'T! I DON'T WANT TO WAIT FOR ANOTHER 15 YEARS TO GET BACK INTO UA!"
