The Doctor followed the car all the way back to the warehouse that he, Rose, and Sophie had stopped in front of earlier. But then again, the car was nowhere in sight and the doors of the warehouse was closed. The two men that they had seen before were apparently clearing away some rubbish from the stall and sweeping the street. He swiftly figured out what had happened now and before and he grinned at the men, impressed.

"Oh, very good! Very good!"

"What's good?"

He looked to see that Rose had drove up beside him, but Sophie was nowhere in sight. The Doctor frowned concerned for his mate. However, he figured that she would be along soon so he didn't worry too much. After explaining to Rose what happened to the police car, they got off of their moped and began walking around the building, looking for a way inside. Eventually, they found a small gate at the side of the building. The Doctor grinned at Rose and she grinned back. He used the sonic to break inside gate. They didn't walk in that far when the Doctor put an arm in front of Rose, stopping her at the sight of two policemen locking up some more cages.

"What are they doing?" Rose asked in a quiet whisper.

He watched them as he replied just as quietly, "I think they're locking up more people with no faces."

Rose gave a nod as it made sense. After the policemen were gone, the Doctor and Rose walked over where they had been at and they saw that the cages did in fact have several dozen people inside. Rose quietly gasped at the sight.

Ignoring the gasp, the Doctor unlocked those gates too and stepped inside. Rose followed him, staying close.

Looking at everyone inside, they had no faces at all. The only thing that they could do was clench and unclench their hands in a rather creepy manner if you asked Rose. As if they could sense that there was someone there, they started to shuffle around the Doctor and Rose.

Rose gulped as she pressed herself up against the Doctor's back, grabbing his arm tightly. The Doctor didn't push her away, but it felt odd having someone pressed up against him like this instead of Sophie. He didn't like it.

Suddenly, a bright light flared on, almost blinding Rose and the Doctor, who turned around and squinted his eyes to see the two policemen who had locked these cages up earlier, standing in front of the headlamps of their car.

"Stay where you are!" One of them shouted at Rose and the Doctor.

"Every single time," The Doctor muttered as he and Rose held up their hands in surrender. The policeman who told them to stay where they were took them to his office and they were now sitting on chairs behind his desk. The Doctor was able to get a name for this policeman from the inside of his collar. D.I. Bishop was his name. He leaned over his desk, hands on the surface of it, staring at him and Rose.

"Officer—"Rose tried to speak to explain. D.I. Bishop held up a hand and she shut her mouth, playing with her hands nervously in her lap.

"Start from the beginning, tell me everything you know," Bishop demanded.

"Well…for starters… I know you can't wrap your hand around your elbow and make your fingers meet," The Doctor said seriously.

"Doctor…" Rose hissed but he ignored her as Bishop pointed a finger at him.

"Don't get clever with me," he reprimanded. "You were there today at Florizel Street with her and another girl…"

"Sophie," The Doctor corrected him automatically.

Bishop went on as if he hadn't said anything, "And now you broke into this establishment. Now your connected with this. Make no mistake."

"Well, the thing IS, Detective Inspector Bishop—"The Doctor was cut off by Bishop, glaring at him.

"How do you know my name?" he demanded.

"It's…written on the inside of your collar," The Doctor told him apologetically.

Rose giggled and Bishop blushed slightly, embarrassed, as he adjusted his collar.

"Bless your mum." The Doctor went back to the task at hand, "But, I can't help thinking, Detective Inspector, you're not exactly doing much detective inspecting. Are you?"

"I'm doing everything in my power."

"All you're doing is grabbing those faceless people and hiding them as fast as you can," The Doctor retorted. "Don't tell me –orders from above, hmm? Coordination Day…the eyes of the world are on London Town…so any sort of problem just gets swept out of sight." He spun from side to side in the chair, completely relaxed.

Rose noticed that Bishop looked slightly irritated because of the fact the Doctor seemed to know all about their inside goings-on. Something that wasn't uncommon, Rose realized, with the Doctor. People didn't like it when he figured out their plans before they could even get started with them. It didn't even have to be a plan. It could be something like this and he could figure it out quickly. He was just that brilliant.

It was one of the things she loved about him.

But he didn't give her the time of day anymore. Didn't even realize the feelings she had for him.

'He would if Sophie wasn't here.' Rose thought bitterly.

"The Nation has a vision to maintain," Bishop protested, breaking her out of her bitter thoughts.

The Doctor gave him an incredulous look. "Doesn't it drive you mad?" he asked. "Doing nothing? Don't you wanna go out and investigate?"

"Course I do. But…" Bishop sighed and sat down, ready to confide in the Doctor, who knew that he would be, "With all the crowds expected, we haven't got the man power. Even if we did … this is … beyond anything we've ever seen." He sounded so helpless. Rose couldn't help but feel bad for him even if he did have them in his custody. "I just don't know anymore. Twenty years on the force…"

The Doctor leaned forward to show that he was listening carefully.

"I don't even know where to start. We haven't the faintest clue."

"Well…" The Doctor said, "That could change."

Bishop still looked hopeless, "How?"

The Doctor stood up from his chair, looking down at Bishop. The roles had clearly reversed.

"Start from the beginning," he repeated what Bishop said to him. "Tell me everything you know."

Rose stayed in her chair, turning it around to face the Doctor and Bishop. They stood in front of a large map of London. She spun her chair back and forth to keep herself busy so she wouldn't be bored. Wasn't working as well as she liked.

"We started finding them about a month ago," Bishop told the Doctor. "Persons left sans visage. Heads just … blank."

"What about a pattern?" Rose spoke up as Bishop turned to her and the Doctor went over to a nearby desk, picking up the file that was on it. "Has there been one?"

Bishop nodded, "Yes, spreading out from North London. All over the city. Men, women, kids … grannies …

"Like Tommy's Gran," Rose said quietly.

"The only REAL lead is there's been quite a large number in—"

"Florziel Street," The Doctor finished, still looking at the file.

There was a knock on the door causing the two men and Rose to look up at the sound.

"Found another one, sir." The man who had punched the Doctor in the face stood in the doorway with a figure that was all too familiar to the Doctor…

His entire body froze as a cold chill came over him. 'Sophie.' He thought to himself horrified as he dropped the file back on the desk in shock. The voices of the policeman and Bishop were none existent to him. All that mattered was Sophie. His Sophie. His mate.

He walked slowly towards Sophie but he wasn't aware he was doing it. Though he knew deep in his hearts that this was Sophie, he was trying to convince himself that it wasn't.

'No. it isn't her. It can't be her. I just can't be.' He thought furiously to himself. 'She's smart. She wouldn't get herself in this situation…'

But those thoughts went out the window when the police took the blanket off Sophie's head. His hearts beat fast in his chest and dropped down to his stomach, stopping in front of her, staring at her blank face. Her beautiful face. The face he fell in love with. The face that he held in his hands as he leaned to kiss her.

"Sophie…" The Doctor breathed out, his hand instinctually raising up to stroke different spots of where her face should have been.

Rose watched this with jealous eyes. She clearly saw the devastated look on his face as he looked at the faceless Sophie. He was in love with Sophie, Rose realized, something she figured that she should have realized a long time ago.

'He should be in love with me.' She thought angrily. 'Not Sophie.'

"Do you know her?" Bishop asked.

"Know her?" The Doctor scoffed coldly surprising the Detective Inspector, "She…" He trailed off. His hands clenched into fists, trying to push down the rage he felt to whatever creature did this to his mate. It wasn't working all that well. The rage was just below the surface, ready to spring out at any moment. Again, the voices of the policeman and Bishop were unimportant and so was the jealous gaze Rose was giving him. Even the rage he felt was directed to Rose as well, just not as much as the rage he felt towards the creature responsible for this.

Wasn't she the least bit upset about what happened to Sophie?

Obviously not.

"They found her in the street." The voice of the policeman echoed through his ears and the Doctor's hands clenched even tighter, so tight that his knuckles were turning white. "Apparently over at Master Square, abandoned."

"That's unusual, that's the first one out in the open. Heaven help us if something happens in the public tomorrow for the big day, we'll have Torchwood on our back, make no mistake."

The Doctor interrupted them, his voice was so cold that it made Rose shiver, "They did what?"

"I'm sorry?"

For some reason this was something that made him. He whirled around, eyes flashing angrily. He stormed up to him and pulled him up by the collar.

"Doctor!" Rose cried shocked. Yes, she had seen him get angry before but never raised his fists. Because she wasn't looking at his face, she didn't see the pure anger in his eyes. But Bishop sure and he gulped at the raw intensity in them.

"They left her where?" the Doctor barked out, giving up on keeping his angry at bay. This was his mate. You never messed with a Time Lord's mate without getting away with it. If you do, you would wish that you were never born. When Bishop didn't answer, he yelled out, "THEY LEFT HER WHERE?!"

"In the street," Bishop blurted out, sputter slightly. "Just … in the street."

The Doctor dropped him back to the floor. "In the street," he said quietly through gritted teeth as he started pacing madly, raking a hand through his hair multiple times. "They left her in the fucking street."

Rose's eyes couldn't help but widen at that. She had never heard the Doctor say that word before. A thought crossed her mind then and there. Would he have been this angry if it had been her that got her face taken? He probably wouldn't. She wasn't his precious Sophie.

"They just took her face and just chucked her out and left her in the street," The Doctor growled, still pacing. "And as a result, that makes things very simple. Very, very, very simple." He stopped and looked at the two police officers, a cold look now in his eyes, "Do you know why?"

Bishop hesitated for a moment, not wanting to say the wrong thing, "No…"

"Because NOW, Detective Inspector Bishop, there is no power on this Earth that can stop ME!" he yelled furiously. "Come on!" Taking one last look at Sophie's face, he raced out of the office without even waiting for anyone. He needed to save her and he wasn't going to stop until he did.

Tommy was watching the coronation on one of the screens in the control room of Alexander Palace while Rose was pacing back and forth. The Doctor still hadn't come back from stopping the Wire. Though she knew he could handle himself, she was still worried. She would always worry about him even when she shouldn't.

"What have a missed?" The sound of the Doctor's voice made Rose stop pacing and whirled around to face him, grinning widely.

"Doctor!" she cried as she hugged him. He hugged her back, lifting her up slightly before setting her back down to her. Rose broke the hug with the wide grin still on her face. "What happened? Did you stop it?"

"All sorted!" The Doctor nodded, grinning back at her, "Electrical creature, TV technology, clever alien life form – that's me by the way." He added for Tommy as he headed over to him, "I turned the receiver back into a transmitter and I trapped the Wire in here." He pulled out a video tape and showed it off to Rose and Tommy, "I just invented the home video 30 years earlier." He smiled dorkishly earning a laugh from Rose. "Betamax." Noticing the TV, he saw the coronation footage of the screen and his dorkishly smile turned into a fond one, "Oh look! God save the Queen, eh?"

With that, three of them watched the coronation with smiles on their faces. Heading back to Florziel Street a little while later, there was loads of people outside reuniting with their loved ones. Hugging, laughing, and crying. Rose and the Doctor shared smiles, glad that everyone was back together.

"Gran!" Tommy cried happily at the sight of his Gran. She turned at the sound of his voice and she laughed.

"Look, it's my grandson!" His Gran exclaimed to one of the neighbors. "Oh son!" She held her arms out for a hug and Tommy ran to her, throwing his arms around her in a hug.

Rose turned to look at the Doctor with a grin on her face but he wasn't looking at her. He was looking around. Her grin fell, knowing that he was looking for Sophie.

The Doctor looked around for Sophie but he couldn't see her. Before he could start to worry, he saw her and he smiled widely, his hearts beating with joy.

'Sophie!' The Doctor called to his mate in his mind. Instantly, she looked up and met his eyes. Even from here, he could see that she had tears in her eyes.

Not thinking about it, he ran to her.

Rose watched as they hugged and held each other tightly. The Doctor swung her around, both of them laughing joyfully, before he stopped and buried his face into a neck while Sophie rested her head on his shoulder, closing her eyes tightly. Rose's stomach twisted in jealous. She knew it was wrong but she wanted to do everything and anything in her power to not let them get together.

I guess that this was what the Face of Boe meant by not letting her jealousy get the best of her…

After the day's events, Sophie was exhausted which was why she was heading to her room to get ready for bed. Getting your face taken from you took a lot out of you apparently. She hated having to go through that. Especially since getting her face taken and getting sucked into a TV by the Wire meant having to be away from her Theta. Oh how she missed him...

She had been so scared at the thought that she would never see him again. Though she knew that he would find a way to save her and everyone else that got their face taken, she was still scared. She hated being scared.

The only relatively good thing that happened was that Rose apologized to her for what happened with the Cybermen. She had definitely been surprised when her former friend did this. But Sophie accepted her apology even if it was forced. She knew that things still wouldn't be the same between them, it was a start.

Sophie sighed as she made it to her bedroom and was about to open it when she felt arms slide around her stomach tightly.

"Sophie, my Sophie." her Theta whimpered in her ear. "You have no idea how much I wanted you back after The Wire took your face. That...that blank canvas that was your face. Every single emotion was swirling through my head; anger, fear, heartbreak, everything." He took a deep breath. "As soon as they revealed your face I wanted to do nothing more but to try and destroy whatever took you away from me."

Sophie's heart broke at the emotion in her mate's voice and she turned in his arms before cupping his face in her hands, thumbs brushing his cheeks softly. "And you did. You did destroy the Wire and saved everyone including me. I'm right here now and I'm not going anywhere." She promised. In the moment, she knew she could make that promise and follow through with it ... but one day, the promise would be broken. She was going to die one day and there was nothing she could do to stop.

Sensing his mate's unhappy thoughts, he gently grasped her chin and tilted her head up to meet those beautiful blue eyes that were now filled with tears. "Sophie, don't cry." he whispered, wiping away her tears. "Don't cry anymore, please. I'm glad, so glad, that you're back with me."

Sophie sniffed and nodded her head. "Me too," she whispered. "You have no idea how scared I was at the thought of never seeing you again. I just..." Her eyes filled with more tears and let out a shaky breath as she closed her eyes tightly, leaning into his touch.

"Shh...don't cry anymore. We don't have to talk about it."

"But we have to talk about it," she said, opening her eyes to meet with his. "One day I'm going to die and there's no way of stopping it and..." She was cut off by the Doctor's lips capturing hers.

'Sophie, just stop for now please.' he mentally pleaded as he began to kiss her.

Deciding to lose herself in the kiss, she returned it as she looped her arms around his neck and she forced her tongue into his mouth to find and tangle with his, pressing her body as close as humanly possible against the Doctor's.

He ran his hands up and down her sides, enjoying to feel her under his hands. She was here and she wasn't going to leave him again as long as he was around to save the day. He would protect her no matter what.

She let out a sound between a moan and a sigh against his lips, moving her arms down from around his neck to grip his tie. She pulled it out and started to untie it, already wanting his naked body to be pressed against hers.

After his tie was loose, he pulled it off and slid his jacket off of his shoulders. Then he began to unbutton her shirt, slowly trying to make the moment last.

While he unbuttoned her shirt, she unbuttoned his. She didn't go fast about it either, wanting to make the moment last just as much as her mate did. There was a good amount of skin showing and she broke away from his lips to kiss his neck while her fingers continued to slowly unbutton his shirt.

He sighed softly, feeling his mate's lips caressing his skin. When the shirt was completely unbuttoned, he pushed it off of her body and then shrugged his own off. His fingers crawled up her spine, making her shiver as they searched for her bra clip.

Her lips made her way down his neck, sucking at the skin every once in a while. Her hands moved down his sides, going down until she got to the waistband of his pants, easily unbuttoning them as she felt her bra loosen around her. He had obviously found the clip. She couldn't help but tremble with anticipation at the fact that their bare skin would be touching soon.

He slowly pulled the straps down her arms and began kissing down towards her breasts. As soon as he located one of them he enclosed his lips around her nipple, letting his tongue graze across it.

She moaned out his name as she stopped what she was doing, "Theta." She hooked one of her legs around his waist and pushed her hips to meet with his, already feeling his cock hardening as she did this.

"Sophie." He moaned, grabbing her ass and thrusting back against her. Kicking open the door, he picked her up and stepped inside of her bedroom, slamming the door shut with his foot.

TBC...

I know ending it at this is so cruel of me, but it continues in the next part! Then we go to the episodes again ... Okay so ... something happens at the end of the next chapter. I won't tell you what but it might or might not get you angry. I'm just warning you now. Oh and this ending scene is something that me and a friend of mine wrote. Same one who wrote the previous sex scene chapters. We had fun writing this one so I hope you enjoyed it. The next chapter is what we wrote together also. And scenes that didn't happen still did. Anyway, please leave reviews and tell me what you think of the last part of the Idiot's Lantern! Until next time which isn't going to be that long! ;)
