A huge thanks to everyone who reviewed, favorited, and put this story on their alerts!

Sophie's outfit for this episode is on my polyvore :)

Sorry for the two month wait, but I still hope you enjoy it like always. And I know there's no reaction from Rose for what she saw, but I promise we will see it soon ;)

Sophie's POV...

I didn't notice Rose glaring at me with her arms crossed over her chest. My eyes were on the Doctor as he stepped into the capsule with Ida as Zach counted down when the capsule was going down,

"8…7…6…"

Jefferson closed the door behind the Doctor and Ida.

"5…4…3…2…"

Jefferson saluted them, silently telling them good luck.

"1…"

I waved goodbye to my mate, smiling at him but there was still a worried look on my face. The Doctor waved and smiled back at me reassuringly as he sent me reassurance, making the worried look disappear from my face. This reminded me that even though he wouldn't be here with me, he wouldn't be far behind.

'I love you.' I told him mentally, wanting him to know one last time before he went down.

'I love you too.'

Just then, Zach said, "Release."

And the capsule descended the shaft. When they disappeared, the worriedness came creeping back.

'Theta?' I called his name worriedly.

'I'm still here Soph.' He laughed and I huffed at him for laughing at me. 'Look, if something happens…I'll let you know, okay?"

'Okay.' I nodded mentally in agreement.

With that, he broke the connection, but he was still going to be there when I needed him. Though I could talk to him mentally, I still went to grab the communicator. Rose had already gotten to it though and the cold glare she sent my way made me shiver and caused my stomach to twist unpleasantly. What was that for?

"Gone beyond the oxygen field," Zach told the Doctor and Ida. "You're on your own."

As soon as Zach said that, Rose spoke into the com, sounding completely worried as if the Doctor hadn't been in an even dangerous situation before. When I thought that, I realized that I shouldn't be worried for the Doctor because he has been in more dangerous situations than this one and he usually got out of it, so what made this any different?

And with that, I wasn't worried anymore.

"Don't forget to breathe," Rose said into the com. "Breathing's good." She started demonstrating taking deep breaths, rather dramatically if you ask me.

"Rose, get off the com," Zach said.

"Fat chance."

Once the Doctor and Ida made it down to Point Zero, the entire base shook yet again and I almost stumbled to the ground but I managed to steady myself before I fell. Quickly, I grabbed the comm before Rose could get it.

"Doctor?" I spoke quickly and worriedly into the come while I called for him in my mind, 'Theta, are you alright?' I didn't get a response, not even from my mind. My heart quickened. "Doctor?" I asked again, my voice rather high as my worry grew. As I tried to get him to answer, Rose was rolling her eyes at me, which I didn't notice of course.

"Ida, report to me." once again there was more silence and Zach tried again, a little more forcefully, "Doctor?"

Finally, I heard my mate's voice.

"It's okay…we made it…coming out of capsule now…"

I let out a sigh of relief out loud and mentally as the feeling of worriedness went away.

'Sorry for worrying you, love.' My mate apologized to me.

'It's okay.' I told him. 'But you just had to worry me when I was just starting to stop, didn't you?' This part was said teasingly and he just mentally rolled his eyes amused, causing me to grin. Then my curiousness sparked and I asked out loud into the comm, "What's it like down there?"

"It's hard to tell…some sort of…cave…cavern…it's massive."

"Well, this should help," Ida said. "Gravity globe." There was a few moments of silence when she spoke again, awe in her voice, "That's…that's…my God, that's beautiful."

Hearing this kind of made me wish I was down there so I could see what they were seeing. It was then that a vision came to my mind, coming from the Doctor, showing me what he was seeing. Ida was right. It was beautiful, so beautiful that I now really wanted to be down there. I pouted to myself.

"Soph…" The sound of my mate saying my name turned my attention back to him, "you can tell Toby…we've found his civilization…"

I looked towards Toby to tell him just that, but Rose cut in before I could, speaking in a cheerful voice.

"Oi, Toby – sounds like you've got plenty of work!"

I frowned at her. Geez, she was becoming just as rude as the Doctor was. Then I looked at Toby, who didn't seem to react to what Rose told him, like he was distracted, and he was messing and twisting his hands around.

"Good, good," Toby finally said in a distracted tone and he didn't sound excited at all, like I thought he would have been. "Good."

"Concentrate now, people. Keep on the mission." Zach reminded us seriously, "Ida…what about the power source?"

"We're close. Energy signature indicates north, northwest. Are you getting pictures up there?"

"There's too much interference. We're in your hands."

"Well…we're come this far. No turning back now."

I heard the Doctor give a small exasperated groan over the comm. "Oh, did you have to? No turning back? That's almost as bad as, 'nothing can go wrong' or 'this is gonna be the best Christmas Walford's ever had'—"

"Are you finished?" Ida interrupted.

There was a pause. "Yeah!" The Doctor said. "Finished."

I smirked. "Nice job at getting him to stop talking, Ida. No one can do that."

This got a laugh out of her and a cry of, 'oi!' from the Doctor.

'Why are you mean to me?' Theta pouted at me.

I only laughed in response.

"Captain, sir. There's something wrong with the Ood."

"What are they doing?"

"They're staring at me. I've told them to stop, but they won't."

"Danny, you're a big boy. I think you can take being STARED at."

"But the telepathic field, sir. It's at Basic 100! I've checked there isn't any fault. It's definitely 100."

"But that's impossible."

Jefferson and I could hear this conversation going on. Whatever Basic 100 was, it didn't sound good.

"What's –"I got cut off by Rose again, who must have been listening in, and a flash of annoyance went through me. The urge to yell at her to stop cutting me off, but I fought the urge though.

"What's Basic 100?" Rose asked, grabbing the comm and in the process, shoving me out of the way rather roughly. I glared at her once Jefferson steadied me, wondering not for the first time what her problem was.

"They should be dead."

"Basic 100's brain dead." Jefferson added, and let go of my shoulder.

My glare at Rose fell and was replaced by a concerned look, feeling bad for the Ood. Who was doing this to them?

"But they're safe? They're not actually moving?"

"No, sir."

"Keeping watching them. And you, Jefferson – keep a guard on the Ood."

Jefferson nodded. "Officer at arms!" He readied his gun and I gave a small flinch.

"Yes, sir."

"You can't fire a gun in here," Rose said, showing concern for the first time in a while. "What if they hit a wall?"

"I'm firing Stock 15, only packs upon organsics," Jefferson responded. He turned to the officer that was in here, "Keep watch. Guard them."

"Yes, sir."

"Is everything all right up there?" The Doctor asked.

"Yeah, yeah," Rose said quickly.

"It's FINE."

"Great!" Danny said sarcastically before letting out a sigh.

'Sophie? Is everything REALLY alright up there?' The Doctor questioned me mentally with concern in his voice

Not wanting to worry him, I said, 'Yeah…everything's fine. Don't worry, love.'

He didn't respond to me as he spoke to everyone else, "We've found something. It looks like metal. Like some sort of seal. I've got a nasty feeling the word might be a 'trapdoor'. Not a good word, 'trapdoor'. Never met a trapdoor that I liked."

"The edge is covered with those symbols."

"Do you think it opens?" Zach asked.

"That's what trapdoors tend to do."

"'Trapdoor' doesn't do it justice," Ida informed. "It's massive, Zach. About thirty feet in diameter."

I whistled lowly. That was massive.

"Any way of opening it?"

"I don't know," ida admitted. "I can't see any sort of mechanism."

"I suppose that's in the writing," The Doctor pointed out. "That'll tell us what to do. The letters that defy translation."

"Toby, did you get anywhere with decoding it?" Zach inquired.

Rose looked over at him. "Toby, they need to know – that lettering, does it make any sort of sense?"

"I know what it says," he answered quietly and I glanced at him, noticing he had in his head in his hands as he stayed crouched down on the floor. Then I frowned at what he said.

"Then tell them."

"When the hell did you figure that out?" I asked Toby, still frowning.

Rose rolled her eyes at me. "Does it really matter?" she sneered at me and I pursed my lips together. She looked back at Toby. "Just tell them."

Slowly, Toby stood to his feet and once he was, he turned towards us. My heart skipped a frantic beat as my eyes widened and I took a step back in horror. His entire face was covered with all those symbols and his eyes were bright red, reminding me of the devil. He opened his mouth and spoke. A chill came over me because when he spoke, it was with the voice of the beast.

"These are the words of the beast."

Everyone was looking at him in shock while I wrapped my arms around myself, feeling frightened. What was going?!

"And he has awoke."

Jefferson turned his gun on Toby as he continued.

"He is the heart that beats in the darkness, he is the blood that will never cease. And now he will rise." Toby laughed manically.

"Officer, stand down," Jefferson ordered loudly. "STAND DOWN."

"What is it?" The Doctor demanded with growing urgency. "What's he done? Rose? What's going on?" When he didn't get a reply, he spoke to me mentally. 'Sophie, what's going on? Tell me what's happening!'

'It's Toby…' I gulped. 'He has…those symbols all over his face…his eyes are red…' I couldn't stop my body and my voice from shaking. 'And he's speaking…with the voice of the…beast…'

Toby flexed his arms in an inhuman way.

"Officer, as commander of security, I order you to stand down and be confined. Immediately!"

"He's come out in those symbols all over his face," Rose said into the comm to the Doctor, not knowing he already knew from me. "They're all over him."

But I didn't pay attention to her. I paid attention to Toby, who was staring at all of us, considering us in a way that made me nervous.

"Mr. Jefferson," Toby finally spoke. "Tell me, sir…did your wife ever forgive you?"

Jefferson's body seemed to freeze but it quickly went away. "I don't know what you mean," he said stiffly.

"Let me let you a secret: she never did…" Toby smirked.

"Officer…" Jefferson swallowed. "You stand down and be convinced."

"Or what?"

"Or under the jurisdiction of Condition Red, I am authorized to shoot you." He aimed his gun at Toby.

He didn't even react. "But how many can you kill?" And with that question, all hell broke loose and we found ourselves desperately trying to get out of with possessed Ood advancing our way. Nothing would stop them. Not even the gun Jefferson had pointed at them.

Remember when I said things couldn't get any worse? Well, I couldn't have been more wrong, and things were going to get much worse.

Especially for me.
