Chapter 6

"There will be a foreign diplomat coming to discuss affairs with our officials. The reason is not important, but our company has been entrusted with their safety." Fatgum was reading off the information given to him.

The team's excitement was palpable knowing they had some foreign diplomat to protect. He continued reading the report letting them know that he would bring his own bodyguards as well with a well-known hero from there as well.

"He must really be important if he's getting a Hero to accompany him here." Said Tamaki.

"I really want to meet this hero. I want to see how tough they are." Said Kirishima while punching the palm of his hand.

The excitement was contagious. He dismissed everyone else on their assignments before heading out on his own assignment. He knew they would be there the next day, so he had to leave the best impressions.

He texted his love telling her he was starting his job and would contact her when he was done. Though he wanted to see her he would not be able to in the next few days due to both their jobs. Saddened for that fact he felt his heart clench down at the sadness of it, but he knew that was the life of a hero.

"Hello I'm Fatgum." He introduced himself to the new diplomat as friendly and professional as possible.

The man was an older gentleman with three bodyguards in black suites and dark glasses looking around silently, highly aware of everything around them. There was also another tall brown-haired man with sharp blue eyes. He wore an amicable smile on his face while standing beside the important man casually.

He heard a few of the girl's swoon behind him while all eyes were on him. They introduced themselves and headed out to their destination. They had been speaking about procedures and other technical issues. This was an all-day thing with them, and it would be that way for the next couple days.

On the second day he got a break to head back to headquarters while putting other members of his team to help with vigilance and protection. He had gone home to shower and change to clean clothes and a few hours of sleep then returned to work.

He had been texting with his love the entire time and she had texted him that she would be stopping by his workplace for a while to give him food and see him for a bit. He was so grateful for that and appreciate a moment with her.

He was in his office taking care of some reports when he smelled the food before he saw her. She had a huge bento box with her that he at once got up and got it from her hands. "You should have told me you were here, and I would have come down to help with that."

She smiled up at him gesturing him to come closer. When he leaned down she kissed him fully, "You know I can handle it, love." She looked up at him searching his face as if she hadn't seen him in forever and was trying to capture every detail. "You are looking bigger than usual." She smiled at him, "Which means you've been taking care of yourself." Caressing his face gently she gave him such a caring look. "I'm glad."

Setting down the food on his desk he turned around quickly and hugged her. "I've missed ya' darlin'." He lifted her up and sat down on the couch he had there with her on his lap. "It's been so long."

She snuggled up against him, "It's only been a few days." She sounded like she was calling him a needy baby.

"So, you didn't miss me?" He asked with a pout pretending to be hurt.

She looked at him for a few silent seconds before wrapping her arms around him, "Of course! Only every second of the day." Kissing his face over and over he felt all her love radiating to him.

He let himself be loved on. He didn't know who to thank for such a wonderful woman entering his life.

He stopped her pecking lips by closing his over hers in a passionate kiss. He wanted to express his own feelings just as much as she was. He wanted to show her how much he loved her with his touch and his kisses. "We still have ta' set a date for our wedding." He said while taking her hand. "I've actually found a few dates if ya' want ta' take a look and see if they are good for ya' too."

She was nuzzling his chest, "Any day would be great! The sooner the bet-"

"Boss, sorry to interrupt you, but have a guest. They would like to speak with you if you would give him a moment." Said the intercom at his desk, making both jump apart.

They let out shaky laughs as they stood up. He went to his intercom while she fixed her clothes and with a wave started heading for the door. "I'll see you later." She whispered waving lightly.

"Wait darlin'." He gestured for her to stop, "Tell him I am on the way down there." he said into the intercom and started to walk with her. He wanted to hold her hand but knew it would be unprofessional and could possibly be a danger to her, so he walked as close to her as possible feeling her warmth on his side.

She had a smile on her face while they made it to the lobby. "I'll see you when you complete your assignment." She was waving at him as she walked away.

"Meztli."

He saw her freeze, her face losing all color at hearing the male voice beside them.
