It was raining in Tokyo, a cold winter rain. Some people were out running to catch the train, others were working, but Subaru Sumeragi lay in bed completely spent. He barely acknowledged the sound of the rain hitting the window or the distant roar of thunder or a quill scratching across parchment.
Willing his tired body to move he grabbed one of the fluffy bathrobes and padded over to the desk where Seishirou was writing things down, crossing them out, and muttering under his breath.
Subaru smiled softly, while he had spent the night many times with Seishirou and had seen him upon first waking up before, doing it as married man felt…different somehow. Seishirou himself was wearing a pair of loose fitting pajama bottoms and had a towel around his neck, his dark tresses still dripping with water. He had his glasses on and the quill he was using was not the eagle quill he always used…it was a Deluxe Sugar Quill from Honeydukes, one of their wedding presents.
Crossing the room and reaching the desk where his husband sat sucking on the sugar quill before crossing out something again, Subaru wrapped his arms around the older man's chest and nuzzled his head in the crook of his neck. "Morning."
"Hmm, morning, Subaru." The quill forgotten as he turned his head to kiss Subaru properly. Glasses where removed and placed on the desk.
"What are you working on?"
"Just stuff."
Subaru glanced his emerald eyes at the parchment. On the left there was a long list of names that were crossed out and on the right there was some mathematical work.
"Sei-kun…what are you up to?"
"I told you, nothing, more importantly are you alright? Last night was certainly an adventure wasn't it?"
"SEISHIROU!" Subaru's face turned dark red as the images from last night came flooding back. They had cast the Muffliato spell so they wouldn't be heard (even though they were in their own private suite). Good thing too, after being apart for months, plus after dealing with his crazy mother, Seishirou was hell bent on proving Subaru was his. Likewise Subaru was just as eager as his husband was. It went on for hours before finally Subaru fell asleep in Seishirou's arm like a dove under a hawk's wing.
"You should let me help you…you don't have to do everything yourself."
Subaru found himself pressed against the wall emerald eyes going even wider when he was met with the intense amber eyes. "You want to help do you?" Seishirou's eyes narrowed and for the first time in forever...Subaru felt scared of the older male in front of him. For the first time he saw perhaps what Kamui had seen…but why didn't Hokuto see it?
Subaru's heart was racing, he was scared to move. Seishirou's mother was the Sakurazukamori, the Ministry's assassin for hire. Seishirou had lived with her for eighteen years, what if it had rubbed off on him? He always said he wanted nothing to do with it but you were always influenced by those who were around you the most. Then, even without knowing that information there was the matter that Subaru had seen Seishirou's sinister face before, just never directed at him. That night so long ago in the Room of Requirement was one example. The other example was when he and his brother almost had a falling out, but what on earth was Seishirou's problem now?
Daring to speak he looked up into the face of the man he loved. "Sei-kun?"
Something snapped behind the amber eyes. "Subaru?"
His face was back to normal, the crooked smile, the warm amber eyes. Without a moment's hesitation Subaru flung his arms around the taller male's neck. "I thought I lost you, I was so sure you were lost to me…don't scare me like that!"
In the back of his mind he heard himself telling Subaru the same, "Don't you scare me like that."
"I didn't go any—" The back of his right hand was burning and while Subaru's tearstained face was buried into the crook of Seishirou's neck, Seishirou raised his right hand, the inverted pentagram flaring.
'She would, now I know I'm going to kill her. That spell at the wedding, it wasn't just a punishment it was a curse, well you're not ruining my honeymoon.'
"Sorry for worrying you dear, come on, let's put up some protective enchantments."
"Eh? Why? I can understand Muffiato—" Subaru turned red. "But why protective enchantments?"
"Because there's always a chance of a dark witch or wizard getting in."
"If you say so…."
After they put up the enchantments, emerald met amber. "So mind telling me what happened to make you go crazy like that?"
"It was nothing—no." His days of lying and keeping everything a secret had to come to an end. He was married now and the boy, no the young man, standing next to him would be with him through thick and thin.
"No?"
"No more secrets, no more lies, no more games…I'll tell you everything."
"Sei-kun…"
"I'm serious Subaru, I've given you glimpses into my past and what's happened but there is something I've neglected to mention."
"And that is?"
"You know what my mother is, you know she's Sakurazukamori, the Ministry's assassin."
"I do…"
"What you or anyone else for that matter doesn't know is this." He raised his right hand and with a light tap of his wand the inverted pentagram flared.
"Wh-what does that mean?" Subaru had an idea of what it meant but he didn't want to accept it, couldn't accept it. Seishirou was much too strong and cunning for that type of thing.
"It means I'm prey of the Sakurazukamori, of course my mother's twisted and I honestly doubt she could kill me, but it's her way of trying to prove that she owns me."
"How? How could she do this to you? You're her son! And if she's as twisted as you say, how'd she curse you?"
"Figured out that it's cursed have you? She did it when I was vulnerable Subaru, December 24th, 2017."
"You mean the night…your sister died?"
"Yes."
"What does this have to do with how you lost your mind?"
"You were familiar with the cursed mark that Riddle left on the boy who lived right?"
"The scar? Yes of course, we grew up learning that story and how he used it to invade the boy's min—oh. Wait, are you saying she can do the same?"
"I am."
"Then we have to do something! We can't let her run your life you—you're—you're mine."
A smirk tugged its way onto his lips as Subaru was gently pushed on the bed, the towel around the older male's shoulders falling to the floor. "I am, and you're mine."
No more words were spoken as their mouths connected, the younger man parting his lips slightly to allow the intrusion of tongue and breath.
Subaru's fingers went up and tangled themselves in his husband's damp hair. He had a feeling by the time this honeymoon of theirs was over that he would never be able to walk straight again. That didn't matter though, being here with Seishirou alone and this close to him felt so right. Subaru didn't care if he could never walk again if that meant getting to spend the rest of his life with the man; although being married pretty much guaranteed that for them anyways, right?

They were laying on their backs holding hands after another round of love making. "We shouldn't have done that, you just took a shower…"
"Oh well, guess I'll have to take another one won't I? Care to join me?"
Subaru's face went red. "SEISHIROU!" Subaru supposed if he was going to accept that his new husband had a dark side, he was going to have to accept the perverted side too, that was alright though because from here on out they would always have each other.
