Chapter 63

Pregnant, Subaru was pregnant. The healers had said there was a ten percent chance of him surviving another pregnancy. He could hear Hokuto and her other triplet now.

"Sei-kun? Are you alright?"

In truth? No. It wasn't that he couldn't handle a third child, he had the money to care for it and he knew he was a good father. But it was the fact of the matter of the survival rate of Subaru living through this. He knew damn well that Subaru would die to save their unborn third child. That's who he was. But he had been with Subaru for fifteen years now, married to him for thirteen years. He couldn't imagine a world without him. "I'm fine Subaru, come on, let's go for a quick walk before Aiko wakes up."

Subaru reached up and touched his husband's face. He could feel the dampness against the other man's cheeks. Due to the dimly lit room he had missed the tears. "Seishirou…"

Without warning, arms locked protectively around his waist, pulling him against the older man's chest. He could hear his own breath catch and the heartbeat rapid under the fabric of the t-shirt Seishirou was wearing. He felt the familiar face bury itself in his own short hair. He wrapped his arms around his partner and hugged back. "Seishirou…Sumeragi-Sakurazuka, I'll be alright. I can't leave you alone with three kids, I promise I'll be alright somehow and like you I keep my promises, always."

Still silence, to which Subaru sighed. "Instead of a walk...I have a better idea; come on to the ballroom."

The older male let Subaru lead him to the ball room and was impressed that Subaru didn't get lost.

"Alright, we're here, now what?"

"I've known you a good portion of my life and I never thought I would see you look so lost. I told you I will be okay. Your mother doesn't scare me. I know a lot of people see me still as that frail Hufflepuff prefect that was too kind for his own good, but you of all people should know I'm not that person anymore."

Amber eyes rolled. "You may not be frail but then again you never were. But you're still far too kind for your own good."

"I know, one of my flaws. Just like your flaw is letting people believe you're not a kind person when you would do anything to protect people you care about."

"Yeah and that's not a whole lot of people you know."

"It's more than you let on." Subaru leaned up to kiss his husband before flicking his wand at the stereo. Their wedding song started to play and slowly the two of them started to waltz around.

"Subaru Sumeragi-Sakurazuka, is this your way of saying everything will be alright?"

"Mmmhmm. We've gotten through worse things and we will get through this. I love you and I love our family. We're each a member of two of the oldest wizarding families and to me, the more kids we have the more our legend lives on or something like that."

"Oh Subaru, our legend will live on forever as our love is eternal."

Again they kissed as the music slowed to a stop and above them unseen by either of them, a young ghost girl smiled down thinking only one thing.

'I knew I was right.'
