Scene 2

Ironwood saw a giant Grimm falling from the sky and crash into the ground. After letting out a sigh of relief, he heard his Scroll ding. Pulling it out, he saw a text from Winter.

"Penny has it." Apparently, Penny had managed to claim the power of the Winter Maiden.

"Thank you Winter. Send her to the Vault." Ironwood texted back. He then made his way to the Vault. Salem may have lost a decent amount of her army, but she was still on her way. Ironwood wasn't going to take any chances.

When he reached the elevator, the Mandalorian was waiting for him. He ran over to Ironwood and stopped him from going any further.

"Wait." Djarin said. "We're not alone here."

"What do you mean?" Ironwood asked him.

"I was coming to this elevator to meet you, but I saw someone standing outside your office. He turned to me and laughed. By the time I ran to your door, he disappeared."

"What did he look like?" Ironwood asked.

"He was too far away to make out any details, but he was about my height and was carrying some sort of weapon. Do you think it was one of Salem's followers?"

"...Possibly." Ironwood looked at his burnt arm. "We can't lead him to the Vault, and I won't be able to fight with my arm like this. Come with me."

Ironwood went to Atlas Academy's medical wing with the Mandalorian. There, he received a new metal arm. The Mandalorian was keeping watch while Ironwood was in surgery. About 10 minutes into the operation, Djarin and the doctors operating on Ironwood heard screams down the hall. An alarm went off, the room being filled with flickering red lights. Djarin came to a startling realization when he also heard a gun going off. Only, it wasn't the sound of bullets. He could hear what sounded like blasts that come from his blaster pistol. That's when he knew it: whoever was attacking them wasn't working for Salem. Somehow, an soldier of the Empire had infiltrated the academy.

"What-what's going on?" one doctor asked the Mandalorian. The other dropped her tools and started to breathe quickly, the gunfire causing her to panic.

"Stay here." Djarin ordered and started to walk into the hallway. He immediately saw bodies against the walls and on the floor.

"I know, I'm late." a voice filled the hallway. Djarin turned around, seeing nothing behind him. After a few seconds, the voice returned.

"Hope you don't feel patronized. I just didn't want this to end too quickly."

Suddenly, the lights went out. Djarin quickly switched to the thermal vision in his helmet, and saw a figure walking towards him.

"I was waiting outside that soldier's office when you came. When I saw that he was ready to fight with just one arm... well, I respected the tenacity...but I like killing people with all their limbs intact. And as a bonus, I get to kill a Mandalorian. So, I hope you two made good use of your time..." the lights came back on to reveal a masked man wearing an armored breastplate with three red blocks on it. The mask was a white respirator with red eyeholes and two yellow slits. He was wearing armor on his shoulders as well, holding a blaster in one hand and a bladed staff in the other.

"...cause you're fresh out of it now."

The man fired at Djarin, whose blasts deflected off the Beskar armor. Djarin fired back, but the man was able to duck under each bolt and hit him with his staff. The blow knocked Djarin backwards. The man jumped to stab him, but Djarin got on his feet and ran down the hall. The man followed him only to find an empty hall.

"Ugh." he grunted in annoyance. "Hiding? Don't embarrass yourself." he walked down the hall and passed by some empty rooms. "You're supposed to be one of the galaxy's greatest warriors. If you can't fight where there's no hope, you don't deserve to live."

"I know." Djarin jumped down from one of the room's ceilings and pushed the end of his rifle into the man's chest. A wave of electricity went through his body, but he was able to push the gun off him and hit the Mandalorian with his staff.

"Good." the assassin said, laughing. "You made it a little interesting." Djarin changed his rifle into an electro staff and lunged at his enemy. Their staffs collided and Djarin kicked him in the gut, which sent the assassin back a few feet. Recovering, he pulled out his blaster pistol and fired two shots. But they only hit the wall.

"All right." he said, catching his breath. "You're still a Mandalorian, aren't you?" he asked.

"Always." Djarin's voice echoed through the halls. He went down another corridor, trying to lure the assassin away from Ironwood and the doctors. "And you are?"

"Ochi of Bestoon." the man introduced himself. "Assassin of the Sith. Last face you'll ever see."

"Let me guess." Djarin called out, Ochi following his voice. "The Empire sent you here?"

"While they were focused on that cloud, they sent me to see what this city had to offer." Ochi answered. "And let me tell you, it was easy to sneak past them."

"I don't think Atlas has a lot to offer the Empire." Djarin called out. "You see those ships when you came here? They can't even leave the planet."

"HA!" he laughed.

"That's...funny?" Djarin asked.

"I knew this would be a waste of their time." Ochi answered, still searching for the Mandalorian. "I mean, we found you, but no baby. I would have left a long time ago if there wasn't any Beskar to gain from a weak Mandalorian."

"Weak?" Djarin asked, angered at this.

"Killing your fellow bounty hunters to save a child? What kind of example does that set?" Ochi asked. "So, you got a soft spot. That makes you weak. Well, weaker than me."

"Let's test that." the Mandalorian fired a shot at Ochi's hand, causing him to drop his staff. Before he could pick it up, a wire wrapped around Ochi's body and he fell to the ground. The Mandalorian walked up to him and stepped on his throat.

"Get...get off!" Ochi choked out.

"Not yet." Djarin replied, holding a blaster to his head. "You're not the only one who wants me dead. What does the Empire want?"

"Y-you...dead!" Ochi said.

"I know." Djarin replied. "The Child. What do they want with him? What have you seen?"

"I...nothing!" Ochi said.

"You're a bad liar." Djarin said. He came closer to Ochi's face. "Now, why do they want him?"

However, Ochi was able to headbutt the Mandalorian, knocking him backwards and causing the wire to untangle. Ochi got up and pinned him down. Putting his knees on his arms and using his hands to choke the Mandalorian, Ochi spoke again.

"That kid has more power than you can imagine! The kind that not even a Mandalorian can survive! Power beyond your understanding and mine. Power that only the Empire can build. In the New Era, he'll be-AAAAHHH!" Ochi yelled as he felt a sharp pain in his back. Ochi released his grip on the Mandalorian, and Djarin tossed him over his head. Looking up, he saw Ironwood with his pistol drawn and smoke coming out of the barrel. He extended a hand to Djarin and helped him off his feet. They both turned around at Ochi.

"And how are they going to build this 'New Era'?" Djarin asked.

"Oh, you'll see." Ochi replied with a laugh, dropping a small device in front of them. It exploded and let out multiple flashes and bangs as Ironwood and Djarin turned away. As their eyes readjusted, they saw Ochi was gone.

"I have to go after him." Djarin said. "He knows things and the kid's in-"

"No, Mando!" Ironwood grabbed his shoulder to stop him. "He's wasted enough of our time. We have to go now."

Djarin looked down the corridor but couldn't see Ochi. He knew Ironwood was right.

"Fine." he said. "Let's go."

Author's notes: I hope you liked this scene. For those who don't know, Ochi of Bestoon is a character from Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. Normally, I wouldn't use characters from the sequels (especially ones with small roles like Ochi), but I've been reading canon Star Wars comics as well as watching the movies/TV series. Right now, I'm reading a series where it shows what Darth Vader did in between Episodes V and VI, and it's really good. In one issue, the Emperor makes Ochi fight Darth Vader (with the same attire and weapons I used in this scene) on Mustafar and I thought it was really cool. I liked how the author helped a minor character be more involved with the rest of Star Wars, so I thought I'd include him here. I didn't put this in the main story because I didn't think it would flow that good. To see Ochi's attire in the comic I mentioned, just Google "ochi of bestoon comic" and go to Google Images. Also, the Q & A I mentioned earlier is on my account so if you wanna ask me something, go ahead. Anyways, hope you enjoyed this!
