Snippet 4: Curiosity

Lex sighed and shook her head as she pressed a key while screams came from her monitor. "Remnant-059….terminate." She struggled to keep it together after seeing that version of Remnant tear itself apart, especially as she saw a version of her daughters being brutally massacred by a Grimm-infected Ozpin. A soft knocking on her door drew her from her thoughts. "Enter."

To her surprise, it was Emerald and Blake with a blushing Ilia. Emerald noticed how off her mom sounded. "Bad day, Mom?"

Lex sighed. "You could fucking say that. 35 worlds that had to be requested for termination today. This job never gets any fucking easier." She smiled softly at the younger of her twin daughters. "Mind giving your old woman a hug, sweetie?"

Emerald gently pulled her mom into a reassuring hug and gently rubbed her back. "Just remember that if it wasn't for your job, you wouldn't have a family now, mom. And I wouldn't have a strong role model or my girlfriends either."

Lex nodded before blinking and looking at her daughter in surprise. "You wanna repeat that last part?"

Ilia nervously walked up and kissed Emerald's cheek and Blake kissed her mate lovingly before speaking to her future in-law. "I spoke with Ilia after seeing her glaring towards Emerald and she confessed that she still loves me so I asked her if she was okay with being in a relationship with me and Emmy." Emerald blushed at Blake's nickname for her. "Thankfully she said yes and well, we were going to tell you but then we heard screaming coming from here."

Lex sighed. "You just heard the final moments of Remnant-059, the final world I had to look at and the 35th one to be requested for termination today. But I am happy that you three agreed to be together. Though, one thing Ilia." Her eyes narrowed at the girl who would've almost gotten Blake's family killed in the future until now. "No touching Tali's tech unless I'm in the room or Sunset gives her approval, got it?"

Ilia nodded as her blush still hadn't gone down. "Y-Yes Lexious."

Lex looked at her daughter and Blake. "Naked Anko?" She sighed when they nodded. "Damnit, honey. Guess I'll have to use condoms for several weeks with her as punishment." All three teenagers blushed badly. "I said that out loud didn't I? Sorry girls." She shut down her station for the night. "Come on. Let's go get some massages, Primus knows I fucking need one."

"A-Actually, can you tell us about the good worlds you saw today?"

Lex smiled at the question. "Yeah, I can do that."

Emerald looked at her mom. "Any involving us?"

"Well, there was Moonie-927 that had Ilia and Blake as the daughters of Sailors Jupiter and Mars respectively. It was a world set after the events of SuperS but dealt with teen pregnancy and had Mars being knocked up with Blake and Mini Moon."

"But wouldn't that mean?"

"Darian cheated on Serena with Raye? Normally, that would be the case."

Blake heavily blushed as she put the pieces together once Lex said that. "S-So I would have had two moms in that world and Rini would've been my twin sister?"

"Yup, Serena and Raye go through a few trials but Serena takes responsibility and even asks Raye to marry her and be her 'Fiery Queen'. Plus you take on the mantle of Mini Mars. As for Ilia, Lita discovered that she was her own daughter that her parents lied about being a stillborn after seeing her in an orphanage and raised her as a single mother with some help from the Tsukinos. It was very moving actually."

Ilia looked confused. "So do Faunus exist in that world?"

"Yes but there is no White Fang and Adam Tauros was a filler villain." That gave them a good chuckle that he was demoted to a filler villain. "Oh! Then there's Alliance-241, the three of you were under the command of FemShep during a version of the events of Mass Effect 2 that had Ashley in the place of that cheating fucker."

Emerald growled as she knew who her mom was talking about. "'I'm nothing like my father', yeah you're father didn't cheat on the woman he supposedly loved just because she couldn't communicate for several months. So glad we can choose to punch that asshole and leave his ass in the Citadel DLC."

Blake decided to help them move on from that. "So who got together with who?"

Lex gently ruffled Blake's hair and gave her a thankful smile. "Well, you got together with Jack and helped bring out her maternal side. Emerald ended up with Ashley surprisingly and Ilia ended up with a certain dork."

Emerald chuckled at that. "She ended up with Uncle Garrus?"

"Nope. She ended up with Weiss actually." She smirked at seeing Ilia fainting at the thought of being in a relationship with a Schnee. "You know, in a different version of this, she would've been with Weiss instead of you three being in a relationship with each other."

Emerald picked up her fainted girlfriend with ease. "Well, let's go have some massages and hope that Grandma Tia doesn't show up again otherwise the water might turn red from two girls this time."

"Please don't jinx it, sweetie. I just wanna relax with my family after my shift today." Despite having bad days like this, she was always glad that she had her family there to remind her that it was all worth it in the end.
