Snippet 8: Past

(A few days after Snippet 7)

In the gym, male grunts could be heard as someone was hitting a punching bag. The man had something of a full beard that was black while his hair was sandy brown and naturally curly along with having hazel eyes and a familiar set of fox tails and ears. "You just had to be an asshole! All I did was ask you for help in understanding a dream and then you had the gall to call me a lost cause before cutting ties with me!" He gave one more hard punch that echoed throughout the gym before he saw Sunset leaning against the doorway in her sports bra and gym shorts and wearing sparring mitts on her hands.

She sighed. "She crept into your thoughts again, Lex?" She knew that her wife had something of a split personality that was more of a twin brother than just a part of her psyche.

He sighed and sat down on the bench. "That obvious, Sunset?"

She walked over to her husband and sat down beside him. "You usually don't come out unless she's involved somehow."

He smiled a bit. "I've become that predictable?"

She kissed his cheek. "No, it's just that we've been married for over ten years that I know you both really well. So, care for a spar to get your frustrations out?" She chuckled when he nodded and got into the ring after he got into his corner. "No groin shots and only MMA, right?"

Lex smirked at his wife and brought up his fists after putting in his mouthguard. "Same as always, don't hold back and either use our safeword or tap out if it's too much?"

Sunset grinned and did the same before using her magic to ring the bell. "So, how did it happen this time?" She grunted as she blocked a kick before going for a couple gut punches.

"Bitch fucking tried to influence my choices for several timelines." He grinned as it felt good to let out his frustrations in ways that didn't involve sex. "Almost requested two Equestria and Elementia timelines for termination when there was nothing wrong with them. You married Pinkie and your mom in one of them."

Sunset blushed but kept up her guard as Lex almost got her with an uppercut. "Were we related?"

"No, but Twilight and Tempest still ended up together so there's that." He ducked under a kick.

"Well that's good, they do make a cute couple." She managed to get a good hit on his left bicep.

He winced from the hit. "I forgot how strong you've gotten, honey. You sure you're not lifting weights just to arouse us." He went for an uppercut but that was blocked.

She grabbed his extended fist and twisted his arm behind his back before pinning him. "Well seeing you two getting horny from mine and Anko's fit bodies is more of a bonus. Plus, Trixie has been working out since graduating CHS with me." She smirked at seeing her husband blushing.

"E-Evoi! Evoi!" He sighed in relief as she helped him up before he pulled her into a deep kiss. "Thanks for doing that, Sunny."

She gently placed her forehead against his own. "We're all here for you, Alexion. Both you and Lexious have a family now that will be here for you, no matter what."

They smiled softly at each other and hit the showers.

Alexion and Sunset entered the dining hall where supper was being served before everyone saw them together. Alex gave a nervous wave before being tackled by Cinder as she shouted. "Daddy! You're home!"

Alex gave a soft smile and held his baby girl protectively. "I'm home, Embers." He chuckled softly as Emerald joined the hug.

The younger hanyou looked up at him. "Did Mama help you with your problems, Papa?"

He nodded. "That she did, Phantom. That she did." While he didn't come out that often, he always took the time to be with his daughters.
