This begins as series 2 ends. An attempt to rewrite... My first ever foray into fanfic - not sure yet how many chapters but we'll see.

I have commandeered the characters from LTiH since the creator has taken leave of her senses and plunged into melodramatic brutality. For Kate and Caroline, there will be trials. There will be tribulation. There will be drama. But there will be no gratuitous indulgence in tired lesbian tropes.

Scenes between Christmas reconciliation and Valentine's Day 2015. Chapter 10 is the last installment for this story. I love these characters and am still drawn to writing about them. But the canon has veered wildly off course. Even Homer nodded, but I want to spend some time thinking about how to deal with the matters before I write again.

It's the day after the wedding and Kate gives the boys a lift while Caroline works at home. This is just a very simple amble, a little melancholy with echoes of canon but nothing else.

Whether we like it or not, Sally Wainwright had written for Kate to die and therefore she must. A short one-shot of nothing but love.

As we head towards series three being aired on UK TV, there are rumours that Last Tango will not have the happy ending that the fans are hoping for. I am indebted to Sally Wainwright for her wonderful creations but just in case she has trauma and sadness in mind for Kate and Caroline, here at least they will remain happy ever after...
