This was originally going to be a chapter of The Future is Past but it seemed...bigger than that. It's set between S2, Ep4 and S2, Ep6 where Caroline had a lot of time on her hands and a lot of thinking to do. The title is taken from a Pablo Neruda poem. If you don't read my fic, please read the poem. In fact, just read Neruda.

What would selected entries taken from Kate's diary reveal about her personality, past struggles and about her personal process of falling in love with Caroline. There was a pool of blood around her fragile body and her eyes were bloodshot as if she had been crying for years not hours, this was not the woman she was used to seeing, there was something very wrong and she needed to find out what. Who is hurt? What happened? warning involves small themes of self harm

Kate has left Alan and Celia's wedding. Caroline is left sitting along, an ache in her heart, as she contemplates the loss of the woman she loves. It is only a moment in time, hence the format that I have used.

One special day in the life of the McElliot household.

Set 4 months after the end of series 2. Gillian finally self destructs. Caroline/ Gillian friendship. Some Caroline/Kate in later chapters.

Caroline and Kate romance, using Sally's Last Tango in Halifax as inspiration. Will be a fluffy story of Caroline hardships and Kate's impact on her life.
