Summary/disclaimer: Time for another Chapter of Virtual Virtues. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own KLK, Trigger and a few others do.
"So, we kill one, see what makes it tick, then move onto trying to stop the rest…?" Rex asked to which he got a nod. "You know how insane this plan is? I HONESTLY question how insane two humans can be." Rex added as Gaete chuckled with amusement.
"Yet you're the only one backing us insane idiots when it comes down to it." Gaete said while he hummed and looked at the place where they had tracked the Perussi to.
They could only ponder what would happen from these alien creatures. These creatures would fight them to the death. Gaete didn't know if he had a chance of winning or such.
Then again? He knew for a fact that Satsuki could look after herself. He didn't know if these guys would come back up the chain. There had to be a chain of command when it came to it.
Gaete was cut off when one of the creatures turned towards him, it lifted their weapon and then fired at him. Gaete rolled under the blast, watching it pass over his head and melt metal over his shoulder.
"You have to be kidding me…" Gaete muttered and looked around with interest. "How did they notice us… You know what? I'm just going to chalk it up alien superpowers." Gaete added as he tried to access the armor.
"Nerd…." Rex responded as Satsuki hummed and approached the creatures, drawing a sword similar to a pair of scissors. "Kid, I want to point out that these soldiers are far more dangerous then you might think." Rex stated while he cracked his fingers as one of the Perussi soldiers approached him, rifle at the ready.
Gaete could only retreat as the soldier lifted his rifle once more before Satsuki slammed her sword into him, sending him skidding backwards slightly. The soldier growled and hissed in a alien tongue that the two humans could not even begin to fathom.
Gaete shook his head while he cracked his fingers and continued to try and summon his armor as he could only hope to help Satsuki in combat. These creatures had come for a stupid reason… Either that, or they had wanted to kill humans like the majority of aliens did in SCI-FI.
"I cant believe that these guys are here just to eat you, Rex." Gaete stated to which Rex could only chuckle. "And we still need the armor, these things are too much for me!" Gaete added as Rex shook his head with a hum.
"And how do we do that, kid?" Rex asked as Satsuki parried the blade of one of the creatures. "I don't know HOW we got the armor to work, and getting it to work eats up a lot of power. It isn't like one of those stupid superheroes shows where you scream something like 'Virtual Virtuality!'" Rex said before said armor appeared again.
"You were saying?" Gaete asked and got no answer from him. "How about we just chalk that up to 'LUCKY' and go from there?" Gaete questioned and got Rex to hum while they leapt over cover.
"Kid? I LITERALLY cannot promise a damn thing… Just punch them and go from there." Rex added as Gaete could only shake his head and do such a thing.
He grabbed the first of the soldiers and punched him, was the strike sloppy, uncoordinated, and telegraphed? Yes. Was it also strong enough to throw the soldier across the room and into the wall? Yes, and this floored the soldier like a box of rocks.
Gaete didn't have time to bask in his new strength as one of the soldiers tossed him across the street and into a car. Gaete grunted as the metal deformed, wrapping around his waste as he looked up at the soldier with interest.
"Ok… That hurt. It hurt a lot…" Gaete stated and shook his head in pain. "Don't we have weapons or something that gives us an edge to fight back with?" Gaete asked and got no real answer.
To be fair? He didn't really expect an answer… But he also wished to have SOME form of an idea what was to be done at the moment. Gaete sighed and only wished that this would be collapsed into a simple brawl. At the very least a straight up fight was something he could wade into without training.
'This is going to be a long day, isn't it?' Gaete asked while cracking his fingers once more. He could only hope this half-baked assault actually worth it.
Then again? Considering how half-hardy things appeared to be going? He could guess they'd be fighting a LOT more then he thought when it came down to it. Not that he really minded it, but it still worried him to be cautious and mind his surroundings in the fight.
He shook his head once more and sighed.
Author Notes
Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out that next chapter will be 900 words as well at the moment and will be more of the fight and bonding. I am going to try and make chapters longer and more fleshed out soon, but next chapter will be 900 words and such at the moment and in a week or so. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
