Summary/disclaimer: Time for another Chapter of Virtual Virtues. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own KLK, Trigger and a few others do.

"Keep dodging!" Rex hissed at Gaete who was busy trying to do just that. "Why did I just let you talk me into this crap?" Rex questioned to Gaete who could shake his head.

He dodged the hulking Perussi warrior, circling around to look for a better angle of attack. He turned to look at Satsuki who was making him look like a clumsy brute.

She danced around the Perussi, pausing only to land slashes upon them. Gaete almost questioned how this woman was human, she made them look like sluggish brutes the more he thought about it.

Then again? Satsuki did have a suit like him… The only difference was she had experience fighting while Gaete was busy brawling like someone who had never really fought before. Not something you could exactly blame upon him when it came down to it.

"This plan isn't stupid?" Gaete questioned as he turned to Satsuki. "This plan feels stupid." Gaete asked Satsuki as he caught a blade before kicking the soldier back.

He continued to battle the Perussi, dodging around their swords and throwing sloppy punches. Gaete made a promise to get better once he got out of this… If he survived this battle.

"It's sloppy and underhanded…" Satsuki stated as she parried one of the soldiers, throwing them backward. "But we can handle it. You still brawn, but you can be trained." Satsuki stated as she hummed.

Gaete nodded and looked back at her before one of the soldiers threw him backwards. He dug his fingers into the ground, crushing the concrete which made him curse. This was the worst plan he had.

Then again? He had never been fighting someone before… And he had never had superpowers. Gaete looked around once more as he paused to crack his fingers and looked at the burly Perussi soldier who growled at him and charged once more.

Gaete sidestepped the soldier, its charge smashing a car into scrap metal. Gaete was glad that it hadn't hit him seeing the wrecked piece of mangled steel behind him.

"How did you get her to commit to a plan that might have well have gotten us killed?" Gaete heard from Rex. "There's plenty more of these guys coming. Your friend seems to be making mincemeat out of the Perussi." Rex added, his claws clicking against his armored hide.

"She's the Supersoldier, I just got these powers…." Gaete replied which Rex couldn't exactly argue with.

"Just try not to die, kid." Rex added, looking around with interest. "These guys are going to rip right into us if we keep trying to mess around without some sort of strategy." Rex put in which was greeted by a roll of the eyes.

He was aware of the difference in power between the duo. The more that he tried to fight them? The more it showed how little skill and training he had with the powers. Then again? It wasn't like this thing came with an instruction.

Gaete could only hope that he learned to master these powers well enough to fight them at a skilled level… Provided Satsuki was going to be willing to train him.

"Gaete, behind you!" Satsuki said before one of the Perussi swung its blade at Gaete.

Gaete rolled out of the way, punching the creature as he climbed to his feet. It was enough to throw the soldier into a wall, cracking and shattering it to rubble.

Gaete looked at the wounded Perussi with interest. He could only hope that this was enough for the plan.

"Satsuki, I think we have what we need at the moment!" Gaete stated as he turned around to grab the wounded soldier who slumped to the ground after a moment.

Gaete shook his head and looked to the side as Satsuki backflipped and then continued to fight. Satsuki parried one of the blades before throwing the soldier to the side with a kick.

"Take the soldier to a secure location!" Satsuki ordered as she ducked a strike aimed at her head. "I will join you at an appropriate juncture." Satsuki added as Gaete turned to looked to the side.

Gaete shook his head with clear frustration before realizing he had no place here. He was not going to be able to help Satsuki in a way that didn't result in him also messing it up.

"You sure?" Gaete questioned and got a nod before he grabbed the soldier.

The other Perussi roared at this before some attempted to chase after Gaete. Satsuki turned and knocked them back with her sword before looking at the other Perussi with clear amusement.

"Come, I'll show you death." Satsuki stated as the alien warriors surrounded her.

Gaete wanted do something, but said nothing at the moment, simply too hopelessly outmatched.

He turned and retreated, the soldier laid over his back and a sigh in his voice.

Author Notes

Phew. Another chapter done! I apologize for how awkward and such this chapter is. Next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will show Rex and Gaete looking at the soldier and more of Satsuki's battle with the Perussi. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!

P.S: Next chapter will hopefully be 900-1200 words at the moment. It might also be delayed a bit at the moment.
