Summary/disclaimer: Time for another Chapter of Virtual Virtues. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own KLK, Trigger and a few others do.

"This thing was going to be interesting…" Gaete stated as he sighed and looked at the body over his shoulder. "Rex, do you know what this creature is like?" Gaete asked as he hummed as he shook his head.

"I'm not a doctor, Gaete." Rex responded as Gaete shrugged and then turned to him. "I don't know what's going to happen next, though. The Perussi will certainly not react well to us knowing more about them. It takes away part of their advantage over us." Rex pointed out to which Gaete only blinked.

"It isn't like their unstoppable, you know." Rex heard from Gaete and looked at the creature in question. "We know these things can be killed, haven't you seen that one movie?" Rex heard Gaete questioned, eyebrow raised.

"Your well aware I'm an alien from another planet, right?" Rex pointed out as Gaete shrugged once more. "And you mean that one movie with that famous action star?" Rex nodded as he hummed.

"Yeah, I thought it was a good movie." Gaete said and poked at the alien's body. "Anyway, me and Satsuki should make sure this thing isn't going to get us sick or something. I don't know if this thing is acidic or carries some type of burning body." Gaete added which was met by Rex nodded.

"I'm not really sure what these things are like, kid." Rex added while Gaete slowly stood up. "But I don't think their bodies are toxic. If they were? Why wouldn't they weaponize it or something?" Rex pointed out which got Gaete as he rolled his eyebrow.

Gaete looked around, curious about what Satsuki was doing at the moment. She was a warrior, he knew that, but he still worried. Rex couldn't really blame him when it came down to it.

"So, I'm going to guess what that girl is going to do when it comes down to it." Rex added and watched Gaete scratch at the base of his neck. "She's feisty, isn't she? I'm curious just how powerful she seems to be. There's plenty to be done at the moment. She's been to war before, Gaete. You can just sense the warrior aura on her, can't you?" Rex questioned and got a nod from Gaete who hummed.

"Maybe, but we have a lot more to do and so much has been left unanswered." Gaete said, rubbing at the back of his neck once more. "What do we do about them? I know NOTHING about these guys, and between you and me? I don't have an OUNCE of power when it comes to fighting. I'd be screwed if I didn't have Satsuki helping." Gaete said and sighed with annoyance.

He felt useless and this didn't help. He felt like he was slowly losing the very life he had. Maybe being a tech nerd was boring, but being a hero fighting aliens? The thought sounded more like something out of a comic book then anything… And it didn't help him feel any saner when he thought about it.

Still? There wasn't much he could do about it. Gaete might have been out of his depth, but he felt like he had to fight this to the end.

"Rex?" Gaete asked, turning to the Machinaserptia. "I don't… Know how your powers work and all that? But can you… Sense Satsuki or something? I'm sure whatever armor she's wearing is giving off something you can track, no?" Gaete questioned which got a hum as the virtual being scratched at the bridge of his nose.

"Well? I'm not 100% sure that I can do that." Rex pointed out before rubbing at his snout. "However? I am picking up some energy heading this way. I don't know what it is, but I'm damn sure it's her." Rex added, looking in a certain direction as he paused to tap at his snout in amusement.

"What makes you so sure?" Gaete asked and turned to see a car go flying down the street. "Fair point, how dangerous are these things again? I don't want to have to carry another one across town." Gaete stated which gained a shrug from Rex.

"I don't know, not really an expert on fighting these guys." Rex responded as Gaete sighed. "Hey, you're the one stuck with me, don't act like I'm not TRYING at the very least." Rex put in, pointing a clawed finger at his friend.

"I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT WE'RE DOING, REX…." Gaete hissed out at his friend, unsure what to even say at this moment.

Still? Plenty of fish in the ocean, plenty of time for him to think about it when it came down to it.

Rex watched Gaete vanish down the road towards the source of the smoke and fire. He was FAR too bemused to simply let this go in peace. But he had more to consider.
